It seems many house republicans you know some of them dont believe the big lie, theyre committed to it for their political ambitions. But how can they reject former prch when to do so is, as cheney shows us, political suicicsuici . I think there was a moment after the January 6th insurrection when republicans could have banded together, could have rejected President Trump, could have basically sent him off to maralago never to be heard from again in any meaningful way. They chose not to do so. Its very hard to understand why. Yes, President Trump was popular with the republican base, but i think that would have waned, particularly with his being in Facebook Jail and not being able to communicate through facebook, twitter, or some of the Social Media hes used in the past. But they chose not to do that. Instead they went through the cult of personality, theyve wrapped their future in duch, and i think thats very perilness for the party. Is conservatism dead, do you think . Donald trump never represented conservatives. He was a populist. He was about Donald Trump. Whatever policy he thought could improve his standings in the polls, thats what he took. Conservatism has been, as Liz Cheney suggested,certain principles, smaller government, lower taxes, fiscal responsibility, and a devotion to the Rule Of Law. First and foremost in that Rule Of Law is accept about the results of elections. And so long as the party continues this viction, that the last election was stolen, they do not have a longtime future. Ite goes tot continue to reject what Donald Trump continues to say. Hes just a sore loser, and they need to start calling him that. For people like Liz Cheney, for people like you, people like Mitt Romney who are more traditional conservatives, its like watching folks who are in the wilderness. Where do you go . I ended up reregistering as an independent. I continue to hope to vote for republican candidates particularly at the local or state level. Larry hogan has been great in maryland. I support republicans like that. There are plenty of good republicans out there, but they need not wrap themselves in the lie of Donald Trump, and thats what they need to get home. I think theres a deal to be had. If the White House is going to work with us, this is a deal we can do. They say they want bipartisanship. How bipartisan does this sound . 100 is on stopping this new administration. That was Mitch Mcconnell yesterday, 2021, which sounds an awful lot like Mitch Mcconnell, 2010. Our Top Priority should be to deny president obama a second turn. First of all, mcconnells aged well. He looks pretty good. But when we hear republicans say we want bipartisanship, we want bipartisanship, but the leader says, i want to stop Everything Biden is doing, it sounds like theyre undercutting. Oh, exactly. For the first 100 days in the biden administration, republicans in public and private said this is not how the president campaigned. He campaigned to reach across the aisle, someone who was going to cut these bipartisan deals like back in the day, and now theyre claiming they werent here to cut those bipartisan deals. Theyre trying to push as much of their agenda as possible before they get into the midterm elections and risk losing congress. Why are democrats not saying that, yet is Joe Biden. Listen to how he responded. It seems as though the Republican Party is trying to identify what it stands for, and theyre in the midst of a significant revolution going on in the Republican Party. I think the republicans are further away from trying to figure out who they are and what they stand for than i thouGht They would be at this point. So its interesting. That wasnt the bite i was talking about. He said, you know what . Mcconnell said that back in the Obama Administration and i, Joe Biden, was still able to get things done with him. He campaigning this way too. Others said, i dont want to. Others said, i want to still tree. He still seems to be saying hes going to try. Hes talking to mcconnell, hes talking to a lot of republicans, sometimes in calls that arent reported widely, and hes trying to cut a deal. But theyre arguing theyre not going to wait indefinitely and if gooden doesnt come to the table, theyre going to come forward. We know from talking to folks in the White House, bidens views on the republican parties have evolved. He did campaign that he would cut these deals, not thinking the senate was the place that was home for him for half a century where he was going out to come Tail Parties and wheeling and dealing. He recognizied some of this was gone. But what he realized is the attack on the capitol, he began to think perhaps he would pnt have a Dance Partner on the other side in the same way, but he knows its politically detrimental to come out and say, oh, ive given up on any bipartisan declaration. Theyre sending out messaging theyre trying to work with republicans. Theyre telling republicans and democrats, were not going to wait forever, and i dont think the american public should expect him to wait forever. A guy like Joe Manchin whos been dancing around, there doesnt mcconnells statements put praessure on Joe Manchin . Whats Manchin Waiting For . It gives cover to manchin if he wants to vote with democrats. It was an extremely detrimental statement in one way. But if the goal is to unify his base and to remind republicans that while theyre spending all this time of fighting with themselves over Liz Cheney, they have this common enemy who is Joe Biden, then perhaps it is politically somewhat of a helpful statement. I think its interesting that that response came when he was asked about the situation In The House and what republicans were going to do with Liz Cheney. Clearly he talked about how he was going to hand it. Caitlyn jenner did her first tv interview. She is running. Lets listen to what she said. Hes been horrible for business.
