Republican lined up now to replace her. Plus, the new legal move by derek chauvins lawyers. Could a Jurors Tshirt be enough to get george Floyds Killer a new trial . Mixed messaging on masks continues to cause confusion. The head of the cdc joins us to try to clear that up. And an Army Veteran who almost died in afghanistan speaking out on President Bidens pull out of troops. Why he said its time for america to leave. Good morning to our viewers in the United States and around the world. Its wednesday, may 5th. Liz cheney chose truth over power and is about to cost her a Leadership Role In The House and quite possibly her elected political career. Republican sources tell cnn that Minority Leader Kevin Mccarthy is planning to vote for next week to remove her. This hot mic moment on Fox Capturing mccarthys blunt assessment of cheneys future and we should note the audio was edited and does not contain the hosts question. I think shes got a real problem. I have had it with ive had it with her. Ive lost confidence. Well, someone just has to bring emotion but i assume that will probably take place. Sources tell cnn the favorite to replace cheney is new York Congresswoman and fierce Trump Ally Elise stefanik. Stefanik is already working behind the scenes to fill cheneys Leadership Role. And a source says mccarthy is making it clear to members he backs stefanik making it all but certain the job will be hers. Joining me now, former Republican Congresswoman from virginia, barbara comstock. Thank you so much for being with us. It really does seem the verdict is all but in here. So what message do you think it sends . Well, i agree with the Wall Street Journal Editorial Board this morning that it really sends a bad message. It says you cant speak the truth. All Liz Cheney did was say what attorney general Bill Barr said. There wasnt Election Fraud. She would not embrace the big lie. And i think how the house is approaching this is very different from how Mitch Mcconnell and the senate has approached things. In the senate, Susan Collins, lisa murkowski, Shelly Moore Capito can be independent and have their own views and be strong women and not be struck down. And so i think this is a mistake. Its a bad message. And i say whoa to any woman who wants to be a handmaiden to this and to get a Leadership Spot on the heels of really something that is unseemly. To embrace the big lie. Why do you have people who are more upset with Liz Cheney saying what Bill Barr said, a man, but they arent upset about Matt Gaetz. They arent upset about marjorie green. I think thats a real problem. But it is a Twothirds Vote so i think while theyre all trying to declare this over, i think no matter what happens, this strengthens liz and you never can go wrong standing on principle and speaking the truth. You said a lot of different things there id like to address. You said woe to any woman who wants to be a handmaiden to this lie. So elise stefanik, who i know you know from bush world, the republican party was i consider her a friend, yes. Wasnt it a different party then, though. So you think elise stefanik, a woman taking over for Liz Cheney is cynical. Why . Look, its like, oh, if we have a woman, its okay. Really what it is, you have to be a trump sycophant. You cant speak your own mind. And i think its a distraction because the party needs to unite everybody. Trump divided the country. Now hes dividing the party. He only got 47 of the popular vote. And even if you give him 70 of republicans now, if you give him 80 if you give him 90 , thats a lot less than 47. So trying to build a majority on that does not make a lot of sense, and i think Mitch Mcconnell understands that, and Mitch Mcconnell and senators also respect the right to for each individual senator to approach this in a different way, even within their own leadership. Congresswoman Liz Cheney is getting thrown out of her Leadership Job for refusing to lie about the election. Matt gaetz, theres an investigation into whether or not he paid for sex with a 17yearold, but keeping his committee assignments. What world has the republican Party And Congress become here . Well, listen, we certainly know from donald Trump World that republicans have a problem with educated women, with suburban women, with women who speak their mind. And to so blatantly attack somebody like this, who really usually was just asking questions. I know when i get, say, emails, you know, what goes out to the caucus from Liz Cheney, its all filled with policy issues. She is very conservative. She actually has a much more conservative record than elise does. This isnt about policy. This is about trump loyalty. And that is not where we should be at this point. Certainly, you know, in the bush administration, where all three of us served, you were allowed to actually challenge the views within your own party and speak out about them and then you got everybody together. Again, thats how things go on in the senate. So Susan Collins is able to make statements and not get attacked by her own leadership and by the men in her party. But this is really the Freedom Caucus has always done that. And interestingly, the Freedom Caucus manner allowed to be difficult men. Certainly Matt Gaetz is a difficult case, and hes allowed to be difficult. But if a woman, you know, speaks her mind, she is considered difficult and sort of the ive had it with her. Thats how you speak about children. And i think thats a really bad message, and i think the Wall Street Journal Editorial Board got it right, and i think the senate has gotten it right. Barbara comstock, former republican member of congress from virginia. We appreciate your time. Thank you so much. Thank you. Lawyers for the excop convicted of murdering George Floyd have filed a motion to try to get him a new trial. This is a move by derek chauvins legal team, and it comes after this photo here surfaced online. It shows one of the jurors in the case wearing a black Lives Matter Hat and a shirt that says, get your knee off our necks. That juror, brandon mitchell, also participated in last years march on washington rally. Lets bring in criminal defense and civil Rights Attorney Omeara to talk about this. The Jury Selection took almost as long as the trial. There was a Jury Questionnaire these potential jurors had to answer. Did you or someone close to you participate in any of the demonstrations or marches against Police Brutality that took place in minneapolis after George Floyds death . Mitchell told the Star Tribune that he answered no. Perhaps key word there, in minneapolis. Should he have answered yes, in your opinion . Is there a problem with the question . Theres a problem with the question. Good morning. Theres a problem with the question in that its way too specific. If they are trying to get to whether or not that juror has some bias, some predisposition, you asked a great question. It was focused on minneapolis. It made very little sense. There was a second question, a broader question, that got to more of that bias or maybe predisposition, but, remember, the questionnaires are just the beginning. They spent an enormous amount of time on the jury as a whole and as an individual. Its on the shoulders of the Defense Attorney to vet through those jurors to find out if there are any predispositions with the reality that everybody has predispositions in how theyll look at a case like this. Youll not do away with those predispositions. You just want to talk it out a bit, and they had a perfect opportunity to do that with mr. Mitchell. So the defense had a chance to challenge any pick for the jury. Should they have caught this . Well, you know, thats multitacited. Dont forget, good Defense Counsel i thought the Defense Team did a good job on juror selection. We have an opportunity to look into Social Media inquiries for our potential jurors. And that should have been done. Im presuming that was done. If this wasnt caught, almost shame on the Defense Team, but even beyond that, whatever mr. Mitchell brought to that trial, there are a couple of other issues to look at. He was 1 of 12. So the question is not the having a predisposition or thought about this. If you remember in his crossexamination in his examination as a potential juror, he said that he believed in the black Lives Matter Event and movement. And that was vetted through by counsel. So brianna, we know that motions are always standard. This is one of those facets a judge has to look at. Remember, a judge is going to protect his trial and protect his jury as best he can at this stage of the proceeding. Mark, do you think that ultimately this picture is going to change anything in this case . Overall, a judge and the Courts Review of everything, including that picture is looked at through a lens of what we call harmless error. If there was an error, lets say that for Arguments Sake there was an error, that should have been looked into. Then you look at the overall picture of the trial and if its harmless, there was enough other evidence to suggest that guilty was the appropriate verdict, then its not going to be overturned just because of that one omara, great to see you. Thanks for being with us. Many americans confused over the new Mask Guidance and the reopenings that are happening across america. In moments, wyell ask the doctr in charge at the cdc, for the answers. Plus, a wounded warrior who served in afghanistan gives us his very personal take on the president s decision to pull troops out. Thats the lowest number of shots administered in one day since february. The slowdown comes as the White House sets an ambitious new goal of 70 of the Adult Population at least partially vaccinated by july 4th. Joining us now, Cdc Director rochelle walensky. Thank you for being with us. Fewer than 1 Million. Why so low . Good morning, john. Thanks for having me. Well, we knew at the end of april, early may, that we would have a different kind of work ahead of us. Until now, weve had over 240 Million vaccines into peoples arms. We have 40 of the population fully vaccinated over the age of 18. We knew that we would have a lot of supply by the end of april, early may, but we also knew this would be the time that we had people who were more hesitant, that people wouldnt be rushing to get the vaccine. So we have hard work ahead of us. We know what we need to do. But we really need to reach people one at a time in the communities and understand why they may be hesitant. We have that work ahead of us. Were getting vaccines into pharmacies. Over 40,000 pharmacies. 90 of people will be within five miles of a vaccine. Are within five miles of the vaccine. Walkin appointments becoming available. Rural clinics where were shipping vaccines straight to Rural Clinics and providing resources to do outreach in these rural areas. Providing resources to Community Based Organizations so they can do the outreach. Now we have to reach the people where they are. Understand why they may be hesitant and we have to have trusted messengers delivering information on why they might be hesitant. Dr. Paul offit says we need to reach 80 immunity. He worries well see a surge in cases next winter. Were not really close to 80 now. As well as things are going with vaccinations, were nowhere near 80 . How concerned are you about a possible surge, and what would that look like . We need to do this one person at a time. We need to get more and more people vaccinated. Weve seen from other experiences in the uk as well as in israel, that the more people vaccinated, the less disease you have. I do believe as our Disease Rates are starting to come down, which im cautiously optimistic about, it is because our Vaccine Efforts in part are rising up. And so i am i do think that we need to be cautious and to make sure we get as many people vaccinated as we can. But is it is a Winter Surge possible if were not careful . I think we have to be humbled with this virus. I think we have variants ahead of us. We have not full immunity in this population yet. So i think anything is possible, which is why i think we should focus on getting people protected and vaccinated now to do as much as we can to prevent that from happening. Walk us through the next few days or weeks in terms of getting the Emergency Use Authorization or extending it for pfizer, for 12 to 15yearolds. What im really asking specifically to put a Fine Point on it is when can my 14yearolds walk into walgreens to get a shot . Im not going to get ahead of the fda and i dont get to control when they make their authorization, but i will say that it sounds like from the News Everyone is reporting that it will be some time next week. Soon after that, the acip will meet and make a recommendation based on the data that they see. The vaccine is already in these pharmacies at the dose that we need, and so soon after acip, i think youll be able to take your 14yearold and bring them in to get vaccinated. Were talking like two weeks . If you do that math if they meet next week, were talking a matter of a couple of weeks at this point . If not a bit sooner. Thats great news. You obviously know the criticism floating out there on Mask Guidance. Some people say its been complicated or there are many different levels to it. Why not just say, if you get vaccinated, you can do almost anything. Right. Its a really good question. So first thing to note is we at Cdc Hasve to put guidance out fr populations. Zee to do it for all regions of the country whether they have high or low rates of vaccination. And so we have over the last several months put out three iterations of our guidance as weve seen more people get vaccinated and less disease. And so as we have more and more people vaccinated and less disease, we will continue to put out further iterations. And we are cautious for that reason because there are still some places, some communities that have less than 20 vaccination and still a lot of disease. We still have some places in this country that have over 200 cases per 100,000. Really extraordinary Case Rates. The Flip Side of how i asked that question. I dont think its asked this way quite enough. I hear frustration among vaccinated people who say why am i being prohibited from doing stuff because there are others who refuse to get vaccinated. So why not say to people who wont get vaccinated, okay, fine, but you cant do stuff. Yeah, you know, right now were not saying you can or cant. These are recommendations. For the most part if youre vaen vaccinated, weve recommended you can do almost anything. Were asking they remain in masks when indoors. Indoors. When indoors. But if im working with if im working with everyone in my office is also vaccinated, why . So i was going to say, indoors and really in public settings. So in our private Settings Guidance we say if you know for certain that everyone around you has been vaccinated, theyre not at risk of they have no high risk people in their households, then we say in those settings that you can take off your mask. A matter of local interest to you. Brookline, mass, down the road from where you lived and worked for years, theyre not lifting the outdoor Mask Mandate despite your guidance. Whats your message to brookline . You know, this is going to be Community By community. And some communities may be more conservative. I will tell you, i was there not too far distant back and i saw more and more people outdoors not wearing their masks. Im going to ask you about Summer Camps. The cdc issued guidance on Summer Camps that advises people to wear masks except when eating or swimming. Outdoor activities and sports, avoid close contact sports. An epidemiologist of one of the leading journals for pediatric medicine, jama pediatrics, says this is unnecessarily draconian. Whats your reaction . You know, i read that comment. You know, heres what i think. I think that we saw last summer that there were outbreaks in Summer Camps and the kids had to go home. They had to not attend these Summer Camps. Were trying to make it possible for these kids to be able to have as normal of a summer as possible. If people are playing tennis and they are far away, we can say their masks can come off. But if they are crowded on a soccer field, on top of each other, heavily breathing, we dont really think thats a good idea right now. These are kids who likely will not be vaccinated. But doesnt the science say that youre so much less likely to pass it outside at this point . Doesnt the advantage of kids being able to do things, more things, doesnt that outweigh the very low risk . So, you know, i think not all outside is the same. So outside playing tennis, outside swimming, all of those things where youre far apart from one another. If you have a group of 10yearolds crowded trying to get over a Soccer Ball and theyre all breathing heavily, i think you need to wear a mask. Yes, theres decreased Infection Risk outside. But if you are all breathing heavily on top of the singular Soccer Ball that has the potential. Weve seen a lot of outbreaks associated with youth sports. Theres this report out of the University Of Pennsylvania that talks about the role of Conservative Media. And it said that the report by Conservative Media have increased Peoples Willingness to believe Conspiracy Theories and reduced mask wearing and vaccinations basically. How much do you blame Conservative Media in this regard . You know, i think this is less about populations and more about people and individuals. You know, when we say this population will get vaccinated and that Population Wont or this population heard this and this population heard that, i think theres a lot of Mis And Disinformation out there and were doing a lot that we can to combat that. What i will say is when it comes to vaccination, these are individual choices. So we need to talk to individuals one at a time, trusted messengers getting them the information that they need so in their individual choice, regardless of how they vote, regardless of what they listen to, their individual choice makes has them select to get a safe, effective vaccine. One last question, but it has a lot of people are watching this now as Case Rates skyrocket in places like india. Theres a debate inside the White House about whether lifting Patent Restrictions on the vaccines. Where do you sit on this . Do you think how advantageous would it be to lift some of these . The w. H. O. Has said, No One is safe until everyone is safe. I believe that we need to make sure that we, in addition to vaccinating people in this country, we need to be able to provide support across the globe to ensure that all nations have access to vaccination, and i am an advocate of making sure that happens. Militarys formal withdrawal from afghanistan is already under way. After nearly 20 years of deployment there. President biden has promised to complete the withdrawal by September Of september 11th, which is a plan thats drawn concern from a wide range of leaders, including Hillary Clinton, george w. Bush and even the joint Chiefs Chairman general mark milley. So many, though, are happy with the decision, including my next guest, retired u. S. Army Staff Sergeant Travis mills who served in afghanistan with the 82nd airborne division. Sir, thank you so much for being here to give us your perspective. We saw this oped that you wrote in Usa Today and its titled i became a quadruple amputee in afghanistan. Its time for america to leave. A very good morning to you. Can you tell us why its time to leave in your view . Absolutely. Good morning. Thanks for having me. I just truly think that theres no Eye For eye. No one has to avenge my injuries anymore. Its not a conventional war, like World War ii. Youre not fighting someone youre ultimately going to win. I sat in the Oval Office with President Trump and told him the same thing that i would tell President Biden that its just probably time to, you know, keep bagram, keep kandahar for strategic placement and come home. Were not able to do the things we need to do over there with Rules Of Engagement and things like that. Its just that time. As much as i know my Brothers In Arms are like, i have to go over there and we have to Take Care of them, at the end of the day, come back home. Come back home and let them see if they can rise above and do good as the afghan population. And the people. And if they cant, well have to see what we can do about that. I think we keep kandahar, bagram. Make sure we stay strategic in the area and we just kind of say, hey, we did our best. I went over there, i built schools. We dug wells. Took care of the population. We got little girls into school and educated. There are high points of my career. And just because i had a bad day at work where i have these cool tricks now and lost my limbs doesnt mean that im bitter about anything. I was there to do a good thing, and we did, but it just seems like time. Your attitude is amazing. It is so inspirational for people who hear about that. And i want to talk about that in a moment. But first, i want to get your perspective because you have heard people who have concerns about the Troop Withdrawal like Hillary Clinton and condoleezza rice. Clinton warned of huge consequences of this withdrawal. Rice says, to your point, it could cause a surge in terrorism and then the u. S. Might just be back in. What do you say to folks like that . Well, i understand the concern, absolutely. But are they going to come through tsa and hijack a plane and smash into your buildings . I dont think so. Weve probably learned our lesson there. At the end of the day, when were over there were not able to engage the enemy. Were trained to train the assistants. If ive done my research right, i believe your husband would know a lot about that. Were not the ones leading in and kicking in doors. Thanks for his service. We have been there and kept a small force like we have everywhere else. We have bases strategically placed and thats whats important. The segment earlier on russia and ukraine. Thats a great bagram is a great Landing Spot for us to operate out of if the World And Nato need us. But going through the rural areas, i dont think Theres Anything left for us that we can still accomplish. In your piece, you write something that really caught my eye. You said the ninth anniversary of my injury, my alive day, has just passed, april 10th. It comes just four days before my birthday, the same day i regained consciousness. Some guys drink on their live day. Its a bittersweet thing. You are alive but you think, man, that sucks. Drinking is understandable, but thats not my style, you say. What is your style . I mean, how do you you say you had a bad day at work. You explained what happened. You set your ruksack unknowingly down on an ied and you said your guys wouldnt let you die. So what is your style . How do you look back at what happened and make sense of it for your future . Well, ill tell you what. Its crazy because im fortunate to be a motivational Speaker And Travel all over the u. S. , as well as the world. I get to go to singapore this year, which is exciting. But my alive day, april 10th, i call my Buddy Scott Malorie because its his birthday. I used to look at it as, i dont want to talk about it. My birthday is april 14th. I was 25 years old when i woke up. Thats my real alive day. So close to my birthday, i didnt have to think about it. Year eight hit last year and i did an instagram. The thing i can say is thank you. Thank you. The medics i told to leave me. Go save my guys. They ignored that. They worked on me. Im a platoon sergeant. I love my medic so much, my son who is 3, we named him after them. His name is dax, after daniel and alexander. Im so proud of that fact. So for me, my wife and i started a foundation. We give back to combat injured veterans. We hosted a memorial 5k. It was tenth anniversary and i had to go all virtual this year. Dont dwell on the pass. Just reminisce it. I wish i could wake up from this nightmare. Thats never happened. Every time i woke up in the hospital i had no arms and legs. I had to fight back with my therapists at Walter Reed and doctors and nursing staff. They got me back on my prosthetic feet. I drive. I own a few businesses and operate a very successful nonprofit because people out there, like you, like cnn, like all the other people in the world that has donated and believe and follow my story have helped me. And the next thing i tell them. You cant always control your situation, but you can always control your attitude. For me, every day is attitude. Every day i wake up, its a positive thing. Im thankful to be alive. A lot of my friends didnt make it back home and im going to keep pushing forward. My alive day, its bittersweet. I wish it wouldnt have happened, but since i cant take it back, i dont dwell on it. Just press forward. I have about 50 years i would imagine, or more, so im grateful for every day. Your mental game is something, travis. And it is something to see all of the gifts in your life that you have with your family that you are living day in, day out. I just want to thank you for being with us. Retired Staff Sergeant Travis mills, thanks for your help. Have a great day. Take care. That is an antidote to cynicism. That was the least cynical Human Being i have ever laid eyes on, in my entire life. Staff Sergeant Travis mills, man, hats off. I want to hang with you. Lets party. You have the best attitude ive ever seen. I know. I think one of the things i have a column home front, but one of the things i love to do is to elevate these stories of folks in the military and military families. And, look, the attitudes run the gambit. And theyre all valid. But its amazing to see people who, i mean, what a challenge. Hes lost all his limbs and yet you see how he is approaching life and how he sees The Meaning Of Life and how he is thankful for what he is doing now and hes bringing that to other people. Its unbelievable. Its pure inspiration. Thank you for providing it. Up next how the Gops Audit of last Years Election in arizona could one day prove costly to the gop. Nearly six months after arizona voted for joe biden, republicans are conducting this partisan audit of the count in maricopa county. A little known company Called Cyberninjas is directing the tally. The audit has continued despite questions over procedure and transparency. Joining me now is kim wyman, a republican who was the Secretary Of State in washington. A republican who is Secretary Of State in washington, and she just participated in an Election Task Force briefing over whats happening in arizona. Madam secretary, you see like flashing, you know, Red Warning Signs and sirens here based on whats happening in arizona. Why . Well, because were witnessing an event that has absolutely unprecedented movement in elections. Weve never seen a private company be able to come in and take Command And Control of live ballots that were used in an election and the precedence of this is just unnerving for election officials across the country. And it should alarm every american in the country because we dont want people to be able to just walk into a Crime Scene and contaminate evidence for a future trial. Thats what this is. Also about the partisan recounts in elections. What do you mean and why . Well, a recount, to be credible, needs to be transparent. The public needs to be able to see every facet of it. They need to be assured there are democrats and republicans and independents in the room. Actually conducting the recount with policies and procedures in place so that everyone knows whats happening. And if they find a discrepancy, they can all agree that theres a problem. But whats happening in arizona, No One knows because No One can actually watch it. How worried are you that you say this is unprecedented. Ive Got A Feeling the way things are going, this may not be the last time. Well, im worried because now theyve given a new playbook to campaigns and political parties. And make no mistake, this wont stop with the republican party. What we could see, you know, down the road is whatever political party is in charge of a state legislature, if they dont like the outcome of an election, lets just go ahead and Make Up an audit, Make Up a process, some sort of review, and the public will not be well served. And the public will have Trouble Being having any confidence in those results. Finally, you made clear you think that the former President Donald Trump suppressed republican votes. How so . Well, you know, here in washington we dont register by party so its hard to really tell. But we saw a real up tick in Ballot Drop Box usage here in washington, and that was probably partly because of the rhetoric that the president had about mailin ballots being corrupt. And things that happen with the usps. So voters lost confidence, and thats all voters. Not just voters in the democratic party. A new study by researchers kathleen Hall Jameson and romer looked at the conspiracies between march and july last year and found that, quote, Conservative Media use predicted an increase in conspiracy beliefs. And that, in turn, leads to resistance to protective measures like mask wearing and vaccinations. Now its almost exactly one year ago that a covid Experience Film snaked its way through. They cite the rising Covid Infection rates in certain states to sell their latest panic porn. Meanwhile, listeners to the late Rush Limbaugh heard these nuggets of nonsense. It looks like the coronavirus is being weaponized as yet another element to bring down Donald Trump. The coronavirus is the common cold, folks. Wrong on both counts. Now this study tracked three covid conspiracy theorys. One, that it was created by Pharmaceutical Companies to boost sales. Bioengineer weapon was released by china and that cdc was exaggerating the danger to then hurt President Trump politically. Use of Conservative Media such as Fox News and the Talk Radio Program hosted by Rush Limbaugh was associated with an increased acceptance of the three conspiracy beliefs. While use of Mainstream Print such as the New York times and Wall Street Journal was associated with an increased rejection of them. And heres the kicker. An increased belief in these conspiracies led to an increased rejection of basic Public Health precautions like wearing a mask and getting the vaccine. Now we see that 44 of republicans say they wont get vaccinated. This is what happens down stream when people have been fed a steady diet of bile. The hyperpartisan Echo Chamber and how its amplified online can have a devastating effect on how to reason together as fellow citizens. Now the good news is that the spell can be broken when people are exposed to accurate Information And Quality journalism that focuses on facts. Which brings us to the decision expected in minutes from facebook. Whether theyll replatform exPresident Trump. Now this is a complex issue, but whatever decision they make, consider this. When trump and his Qanon Lackies Were Deplatformed after the attack on our capitol, there was a 73 decrease in online Election Fraud misinformation within one week. And the Cause And Effect really couldnt be clearer. And thats your reality check. John avlon, thank you very much. Now as john mentioned, facebooks Advisory Board is set to announce whether it will let former President Donald Trump back on to its platform. So what can we expect now . Joining me is steven levy, the editor at large at wired, also the author of facebook, the inside story. So steven, you were the guy to talk to about this. Youre tracking this so closely, and we thank you for joining us. You think facebook what do you think they do . Do you think they let trump back on . The important thing is, its not facebook. Its this independent board. You can put Air Quotes around it. Facebook set it Up To outsource basically the decisions like this. And i think theres a good chance that theyre going to, to some degree, let Donald Trump post again on facebook. Theres really a couple of things to watch for. Theres the immediate decision but then theres recommendations that facebook has asked the board to make about how to handle not only trump in the future but other potentially dangerous public figures. Autocrats in other countries. So theres a couple of things going on in this decision in just a few minutes. You said maybe Air Quotes around this Advisory Board. Is this just a way for Facebook And Mark zuckerberg to outsource their problems . Well, this decision Coming Up is actually the first big test of it. Maybe you could argue its a little premature test because the board is just finding its footing. Theres prominent people on the board. Former Prime Minister of denmark, very, you know, respected legal people, Human Rights people, and i think they want to show their independence to facebook. They want to show theyre not lackeys to facebook, even though facebook set up the board and helped choose. Would reinstating trump onto facebook be good for truth . We know that, obviously, it would not be. But would it be good for facebooks Bottom Line . Well, thats hard to say. I mean, the good thing about the board is that the decision is not in the hands of people who have one eye on facebooks Bottom Line and one eye on politics. Which is the way the previous big decisions were made. I think, you know, there is a danger in having him on there. You look at the thing he set up from the desk of Donald Trump and already hes posting about calling the election a big lie. I think that if he does come back, facebook is going to have to have a lot of labels handy to slap on his posts saying, you know, well, maybe the Election Wasnt stolen. You hear some information about that. But its not going to have the power it had when he was president. Hes not going to fire any Cabinet Members with a facebook post. Thats right. But a lot of people listen to him. So well be watching this decision from the Air Quotes Advisory Board as you are as well, steven levy, the editor at large of wired. Thanks for being with us.
