Necessarily. That seems unlikely given all that weve heard about this. Or, you were with astrazeneca, they basically said continue on, but not for everyone. Not for certain age groups. So well see. In addition to the six women that you talked about, you mentioned theres a woman in oregon who they are investigating. Is this related. Also now we heard overnight a woman in texas as well. So a couple more patients thAt The advisory committee may be looking at but still very rare. So likely its going to come out again just with maybe some caveats. Well know for certain by tonight. By dinnertime tonight, welldef that. The sevenday average of vaccine doses administered has dropped below 3 Million shots per day for the first time in more than two weeks. It means fewer people are getting vaccinated every day than were a few days ago. What does this mean . Id like to see a little bit more of a trend here to see whats going obut weve anticipated there would be this point where wed start to see the numbers start to drop. Weve vaccined the first 100 Million doses in two months. The second 100 Million in a month. But in addition to that graph, i want to show you this other graph out of Kaiser Family Foundation that may explain a little bit about whats going on here. I think theres two things. Theres still hard to reach areas around the country where people do want the vaccine. They are still having a harder time accessing them. Its gotten better across the country. But overall, it shows 61 of the country roughly says theyve either gotten it or have no problem getting it, but about 17 are sort of in this middle the movable middle as theyre called. They are taking the wait and see approach. So i think thats probably whats driving this downward trend a little bit now. Thats not the graph. Well get to that in a second. 17 or so of people are sort of on the fence. There it is. The Blue Line in the middle. Its come down a fair amount. Two green lines. Those are people who say only if needed or definitely not. Theyre going to be harder to move. But the Blue Line, if that starts to flip, i think well see the numbers, at least not continue to go down in terms of vaccine acceptance. All right. The persuadables there. Well keep an eye on that line. Sanjay, it was one year ago today when thenpresident trump actually said this. And then i see the disinfectant that knocks it out in a minute, one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that by Injection Inside or almost a cleaning because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number. So it would be interesting to check that. Happy anniversary. I know. I cant believe its a year but absolutely not would be the answer. He asked deborah birx. She was not as forceful as she should have been saying absolutely not. How much did that misinfo set back the u. S. In the long run, sanjay . You know, if you look At The united states, compared to other countries, and leave aside the vaccination, leave aside even some magical therapeutics, there were countries that, obviously, you know, with the same resources or fewer resources than we have who obviously did a lot better. I think the problem was thAt That stutterstepping into our response cost us a lot. It was a delayed response to begin with. I remember the study coming out of columbia early on that said if we had just acted even two weeks earlier, even a week earlier, 84 of deaths could have been prevented. It just stops your heart to hear that. I remember i interviewed Ambassador Birx about that and she says she believes thAt The vast majority of deaths could have been mitigated and prevented. So that was one example. But there were many. I think the basic idea that we didnt take it seriously enough and we thought there were crazy solutions, absolutely crazy solutions like just injecting disinfectant, did really put us behind. We have a clearer look At That a year later. Amazing to think how much weve been through over the last yearplus. It feels like longer ago, sanjay. GreAt To have you on. Thanks so much. An eyeopening new perspective on policing this morning from a 26year Law Enforcement Veteran who says hes one of only four black police chiefs in the entire state of minnesota, the state where george floyd, daunte wright, Philland Open Castille were all killed by police. Hes the Chief Of Police and he says when he sees a Squad Car behind him, his Heart Skips A Beat. Blair anderson joins me now. Thanks for being with us. It was your birthday this week. Happy birthday. 26 years in policing. After all thAt Time, for you to say your Heart Skips A Beat when you see a Squad Car behind you, why . I think thats true of most people, but more importantly, its the reason why ive chosen to do this job from a standpoint of Compassion And Humanity and being ever mindful not to ever strip another Human Being of their dignity. But i think if you ask most people, when they see a Squad Car behind them, the tension goes up a little bit. And its not abstract for you. You had your own case of really alarming treatment At The hands of different police. Explain. I did. It was a traffic stop. I was going to my nieces sweet 16 Birthday Party and a Squad Car pulled in behind me. And having been on the other end of thAt Transaction as it were and for how long he followed me, i knew i was going to get pulled over. What i didnt know was there were going to be 10 or 15 other squads and thAt Turned into a Felony Stop where i was taken out at gunpoint and prone out on the street. And when the officer was approaching me, i mentioned that i was a Police Officer and that my Duty Weapon was in my bag. And his response was, yeah, yeah, just shut up. And so i complied and, obviously, was handcuffed and it was almost worth it when he pulled my i. D. Out of my pocket and saw that i was a captain with another department. But i had a very serious conversation with that officers chief. Yeah, i bet. I bet you did. Chief, you did this remarkable interview with the daily beast which caught our eye which is why we asked you to join us. One of the things you discuss is the range of emotions that you feel as an officer this week with the verdict in the derek chauvin case. And how this has been a difficult week for you. I wonder if you can discuss that with us. Yeah, like anybody who watched that, it was gutwrenching. Im outraged. Im angry. And its such a tragic thing that did not have to happen. I dont know anybody with any humanity that doesnt feel the same way. I was asked a couple of days ago if i ever regretted becoming a Police Officer. The answer is unequivocally no. I was also asked if there is some conflict within me, you know, being black and being part of the system that, you know, historically has treated folks of color very harshly. And again, it made me reflect on why i became a Police Officer in the first place, right . And im that corny guy who became a Police Officer to make things better to make people feel safe. I also just very quickly, youre talking about the need for reform in this country. And one of the things you stress is people need to ask people like you what you think needs to happen. Get police involved in the discussion. Why . Because there are a lot of people talking about what needs to be done that dont know whAt They are talking about. And i dont mind having an independent viewpoint here or there, but the things that are being proposed right now, quite frankly, are very dangerous. And they are going to drive good people out of law enforcement. Because theyre not meaningful and theyre not sustainable. And we need to be sensible and not impetuous before we start crafting Police Reform. Of course, theres always a time to be introspective and figure out the things you arent doing well and change those, but the things that are being proposed are not going to help us accomplish that. And they are going to get people killed. Chief anderson, thank you for joining us this morning. Appreciate your perspective. Thank you for having me. Just in to cnn, jailed Kremlin Critic Alexei navalny now says hes going to end his Hunger Strike. This is big news. Lets get to Sam Kiley in moscow with the latest developments. There were questions, sam, about whether his life was in danger. What are you learning . Well, brianna, that is what alexei navalny, the leading Opposition Figure in russia currently languishing in jail has said is exactly the reason he is abandoning his Hunger Strike. Following the visit of independent doctors and then the analysis of their reports by his own physicians, a team of five, who exhorted him to end his Hunger Strike. Im quoting from his post here on instagram. He said that one of the things thAt Triggered this for him is a quote from the Doctors Letter to him. In a minimum of time, there will be no one to treat. And he said it seems to me that was worthy of attention. Really in large part, he has achieved what he set out to achieve which was to get independent medical attention inside the russian penal system. He got that on tuesday, we understand. He was seen by independent physicians and he was moved to a civilian hospital. Where he is now, we dont know, but he is able, through his lawyers, to issue this instagram statement. Three weeks in to a Hunger Strike. A man who had already survived poisoning with a Nerve Agent back in august that both his people and the united states, European Union and others have blamed on the russian state. Already in a frail condition. He returned to this country to continue to confront authorities, and it would appear that certainly from his perspective, perhaps hes won this round. Not least because there was a very large series of demonstrations in support of him right across the nation of russia last wednesday in which about nearly 2,000 people were detained by russian authorities as well. And he was also acknowledging the outpouring of public support as being a part of his decision to give up on his Hunger Strike and also noting thAt The mothers of the beslan Massacre Youll Recall this was the massacre of a school conducted some years ago by islamic fundamentalists, they had joined his Hunger Strike in support. He said he was so moved by thAt That he felt a moral obligation to give up on this latest stage of his battle with the russian authorities. John . Sam kiley, thank you so much for that report. Please keep us posted. Obviously, this is developing as we speak. Just ahead the Iowa Woman who admits she ran over a teen with a car because she was, quote, a mexican. And thats not all. Also, the War On Voting Rights in arizona takes an unexpected return with republicans fighting each other. You guys can say its a temper tantrum. You want to see a temper tantrum, i can show you one if you really want to see it. Excuse me. Some say this is my greatest challenge ever. But ive seen centuries of this. With a companion that powers a digital world, traded wh a touch. E gold standard, so to speak ; wait until you hear this story. An Iowa Woman pleading guilty to federal Hate Crime Charges after telling police she ran over a girl because, quote, she was mexican. Police say the woman had been involved in three separate racist incidents in december of 2019. Cnns Laura Jarrett joins us now with this. Wow. Yeah, really disturbing case here, john. It all started a little after 3 30 in the afternoon on december 9th, 2019. Now Nicole Poolfranklin was driving her jeep down a road in des moines, iowa. She sees a 12yearold Boy who happens to be black walking along a curb. Thats when she jumps the Curb Running over the Boys Leg and takes off. But the violence doesnt end there. Less than an hour later, franklin sees a teenage girl walking to a baseball game. Once again, franklin jumps the curb hitting the girl. Leaves the scene. When questioned, authorities Say Franklin told police she hit the young girl because, quote, she was a mexican. Thankfully, both kids survived with only cuts and bruises. And as you mentioned, john, franklin pled guilty thursday to federal Hate Crime Charges for attempting to kill the two children. Shes now facing a possible sentence of life in prison. One of the victims, Natalia Miranda and her father were in court for the plea. Her father telling cnn, quote, this just gave me a little hope to say, i can live here. My kids can live here. Brianna . Laura, thank you for that. Joe biden narrowly won arizona in the 2020 election. Now its the latest state to craft a bill that critics say is voter suppression. The bill is known as sb1485 and it would remove voters from the states permanent early Voting List who have not voted in the last two Election Cycles and who do not respond to a final mailed notice within 90 days. It seems certain to be headed to the Governors Desk but then one republican State Senator unexpectedly blocked the Bill Setting off this testy exchange with the bills sponsor. I am committed to fixing the problems in this Election System in arizona, even if it means my name is in red on this board and You Guys can say its a temper tantrum. You want to see a temper tantrum, i can show you one if you really want to see it, but i will not. Excuse me. Who here has addressed the chain of custody . Who here has addressed the Sd Cards that have zero chain of custody, that have the results that come out of the dominion machines . Does this bill to your point of order. Point of order. Senator thank you, madam chair. Can you have the senator from district 16 stick to the actual language of the bill . So to be clear, that State Senator in the foreground says that she supports the bill that would purge some voters from the early Voting List but raised concerns that it does not protect against an alleged vulnerability of voting by machine which is just another unfounded Conspiracy Theory that was propagated by former president trump. She also says she will block the bill until an audit is completed of the votes from 2020 in Maricopa County, which is arizonas most populous county. I want to bring in Arizona State Rep John Cavanaugh to talk about this. Sir, thank you for being with us. Thank you for letting me give my perspective to your viewers. So lets start with this audit that is set to begin today. Critics and not just democrats, say this is a Fishing Expedition to uncover Voting Fraud where it didnt happen. These votes in Maricopa County have already been audited twice by the state. There were no irregularities. What do you say to that . Well, the house is not involved. I would certainly be interested in seeing whAt The outcome is. I dont think its going to be reversing any election results. But personally, myself and pretty much every other republican in the house and many in the senate are really focused on moving forward with some bills to correct some actual or perceived problems that arised as a result of that election. Although some of them predated the election. You want to see what happens, this is something the senate is spearheading in your state, but why go through something thats been audited twice . You have the outcome. Look, there are people who are concerned who claim thAt Their are big irregularities and the senate wants to do an audit to either substantiate that or put it to bed and allay fears. Again, i think its a distraction from the need to go forward with many election bills which we are, in fact, advancing in both chambers. So the folks behind this audit, its worth pointing out, are like a whos who of Election Fraud Conspiracy theorists. This is being spearheaded by the senate. Its being led by the head of a floridabased firm that wrote up a large list of Conspiracy Theories as talking points for republican senators voting to overturn the Electoral College Results of the election. Your State Senators are doing this over the objections of the republicanled Maricopa County board of supervisors. These are County Elected Officials from your own party. This really doesnt even have a veneer of legitimacy. Youre interested in the outcome of this, but why should people believe thAt This is anything other than discouraging legal, legitimate voting . Well, i dont think thAt The intent is to discourage legal, legitimate voting. Were doing bills to correct problems that came up during the election that need to be solved regardless of whether there was actual fraud or nonexistent fraud. We discovered other problems with the system. And its unfortunate that a lot of people are branded, the republican Election Reform bills, as being extreme and voter suppression. In reality, almost all of the extreme bills like ending the early ballot completely or having legislature throw out the president ial electors and replace them, but how do you say that when this is a bill how do you say that when this is a bill that could purge thousands and thousands of voters from this early Voting List . This was, as amended, is something that would bump off voters from that list if they have not voted in the last two Election Cycles, including partisan primaries. The house actually amended that down from four, and if they dont respond to this final mailed notice. Why should it was my amendment that made those changes. Look, the way it works now its still two cycles. Why should receiving a ballot be dependent on whether someone has participated in a recent election if they have opted to receive a Mail Ballot and have the chance to participate in voting. Sure. And we want them to continue to get the ballot but we want to make sure thAt They are actually there. I have moved several times in my life. And i would ask this of every one of your viewers. Of all the times you moved in your adult life, how many times did you think to call the County Elections Officials where you are moving from and tell them, hey, im moving. Take my name off the list . Nobody does that. But you dont have any what evidence do you have thAt That has led to Voter Fraud . What evidence do you have youre solving a problem that doesnt exist in the thats not true. Thus purging people from a lis list. Thats not true. First of all, in order to be purged you have to not vote in any elections. Weve added municipal elections. You then have to not respond to a letter within three months and we added to the bill thAt The county recorders, if they have your Phone Number or email have to reach out to you that way. Were actually preventing erroneous removals more than we prevent ballots that have mismatched signatures on Election Day from being counted. Its a very robust check. But this is what i discovered. Against what . Against what . Huh . There is no evidence of yeah, and ill tell you why. There is no evidence of Voter Fraud. Nobody checks. Let me tell you what happened. I spoke to the theres no evidence of widespread Voter Fraud that would have affected the outcome of the election that needs to be dealt with, with what you have in this bill. Yes there is. Listen. I asked the recorders as were investigating these bills. I said, if the signature on file doesnt match a signature on an early ballot, because thats how they verify their legitimacy, i said, what do you do . They have a second group of people who check it. If it still doesnt match they reach out to the voter to see if thats their signature. I said what happens if they cant locate the voter or what happens if the voter says thats a fraudulent signature . I said what do you do . And we discovered they do nothing. They dont contact the prosecutor. They dont contact the attorney Generals Election Fraud unit. And the last three years, not one questioned signature has gone to the fraud unit. So now we know that even when somebody fraudulently votes, if they are not caught, nothing happens. So we have no idea how many of these signatures are fraudulent. I dont think theres a mountain of them, but its good policy to stop sending ballots to addresses where the recipients are dead or moved because those ballots could potentially be used by other people as fraud. No evidence just to be clear. No evidence they theres no evidence they have been. Not are you still there, do you still want a ballot . Theres no Evidence And Youll miss people in that. But you said something last month that appears to have answered that question that i was asking a little more clearly. You said, quote, not everybody wants to vote. And if somebody is uninterested in voting, that probably means thAt They are totally uninformed on the issues, quantity is important, but we have to look At The quality of votes as well. What is a Quality Vote, as you put it . Quality vote is a legal voter who says, i want a ballot. Thats the Quality Vote. You said its someone who is informed. I was referring to there tw two quotes commingled. I made a statement noT Everyone should vote. Thats not the quote i pulled. This was not a commingled quote. But that was also part of the narrative. That is not what were talking about here. Lets not change the subject. Im talking about no, its the same interview and the same article and my enemies have attempted to link the two of them together p. Im not linking them. So answer that for me. What is a Quality Vote as you put it because you said a Quality Vote is f. Someone is uninterested made by someone who said, i want to vote. I registered. Give me a ballot. Thats a Quality Vote. You said thAt They were you talked about people being uninformed on the issue. I dont think we should send ballots if they are not interested. But if they are interested in voting, i would never stop somebody from voting. Youre going to miss people. Youre going to miss people who have a right to vote. And as an example how . I want to point this out and i know this to be true. You have a number of Military Installations in your state. They have different met ballots. They have separate Military Ballots. Are you aware thAt This bill will have the effect of purging military voters from your rolls . It will not. Theres a separate military ballot. That came up on the floor. Theres another myth about the bill. There are separate Military Ballots. This is a very real possibility you understand thAt There are separate Military Ballots because now you refuse to accept the fact that im youre dodging the question. Im a Military Family so ill tell you what i know which is im talking arizona and i will tell you what i know. There are separate Military Ballots that are not affected by this. There are people who are registered, and im talking not just about in the military because you know that people around someone in the military, its not just a military member. There is a family around that military member. They can be legally registered to vote in arizona. They may be somewhere else. They may have moved. And this Will Purge were stopping that. Excuse me, sir. Im not finished. This Will Purge some of them from the rolls. This is how can i answer . This has happened in my family while my husband was deployed. And only because i saw a final can i answer . In a moment. Only because i saw a final notice was i able to stop that. This will happen. Can i answer now . Of course. Okay. First of all, if the family is overseas, that does not count these ballots were talking about. It doesnt have to be sir, sir, theyre not just overseas. They moved domestically. But theyre deployed outside of the state they moved domestically. These are not the ballots were talking about. Those are different ballots. Those are normal ballots. They are sent to addresses in arizona, military families get different ballots. And by the way, you cant forward an early ballot mailed to an arizona i dont get a different ballot. So how can the ballots were mailing to arizona residences not get to the people when by law now they cant get there . They are different ballots youre talking about. Were talking about ballots that are failmailed to Nonmilitary Pe who live in the state who probably moved and are dead and arent there to get them. And theres no evidence thAt They theres no evidence thAt There is widespread Voter Fraud even if there wasnt, why would you send ballots to addresses where people werent there. But youre going to purge people who may have purge. Must we use spin words in this discussion . Thats not a spin word. Thats just a fact. Were removing people who havent voted in any of the last four elections local or municipal, after they dont reply to a letter they received after three months and after they dont respond to Phone Calls and emails from the eelection people. Yes, to their old residence. To the Phone Number and the address they come back with signature discrepancies. To the Phone Number and address you have on record which if theyve moved on, you may not be tracking. They write their Phone Number on the ballot when they vote. And if they havent voted recently, youre going to have a problem. People change Phone Numbers. They get the mail. Do you pay bills that get in the mail . A lot of Mail Isnt forwarded. Theres a lot of problems with that. And if they move, theyre not eligible to use that ballot thats not necessarily true. Thats not necessarily true. You are really twisting the facts to make your point here. All theyre doing is trying to im talking about being purged from the early voting rolls. Im talking about people who are purged from that early Voting List. Can we use neutral names. They are being removed after multiple checks to make sure thAt They actually arent there. They arent being purged. That is your that is how you describe it, sir. And we do appreciate you coming on p on. Im not spinning it. Im doing the truth. Im not spinning it either. Purge . What am i, stalin . Come on. Dont be ridiculous. This is really this is why we cant have reasonable discussions across the political divide because everybody wants to throw gasoline on what should be a critical intellectual discussion. Sir, youre not being honest and what youre saying doesnt even line up with when am i dishonest . You talk about Quality Votes over quantity. I think that is loud and clear. Arizona State Rep John Kavanaugh . Somebody who doesnt want to be registered to vote who doesnt ask for a ballot, who doesnt follow politics who doesnt know the issues is a different voter from somebody like you whose career is politics and knows everything. Im not saying those people cant vote, but if they dont want to vote, i am not shoving ballots in front of them and forcing them to be registered against their will. They have freedom. Their will is to be on that list and, sir and im not taking anybody off the list to this is our right. This is our right as americans. Sir, im going to have to leave it there. Im going to have to leave it there, sir. Theyre not going to turn your power off if you dont mail your bill in. Im going to have to leave it there. Great. Good. Okay. Joining us is dana bash, cnn Chief Political Correspondent And Coanchor of state of the union. Also the moderator of a special cnn Town Hall on the climate crisis. It happens tonight at 10 00 p. M. Eastern. What can we expect tonight other than brilliance . A lot of substance. A lot of substance on this important existential issue. And i have to say, i am very proud to be a part of this because it is something that matters so much to every single Human Being. Every living thing on this planet. And the fact thAt The president held a Twoday Summit Yesterday and today and the fact that he has assembled a team of people who are trying to look At This Issue Wholistically is fascinating. And they are pretty much all the top four on this issue in the administration are coming on and theyre going to answer really important questions from audience members, from americans. Everything from the practical question of when can i buy an Electric Car . If i want to do my part and buy a car thats actually affordable to questions about the transformation, the transition from Fossil Fuels to clean energy and how that is going to be possible. You know, we have to look at it realistically because they need partners Around The World but also here in business and in congress. And, you know, were going to talk about the very real challenge in doing that. We cant wait for it, dana. I should mention you got the first Solo Sitdown Interview with Vice President Kamala Harris. The first one shes done since she took office. Lets listen to part of this. I carry a great sense of responsibility for all of the young Boys And Girls of color. Those who identify in some way because maybe no one expected something of them, but they expect a lot of themselves. To do well. And to do right. And to do good. So, yes, i carry a great, great sense of responsibility, if not the seriousness of the responsibility to be in this position and be a voice for those who have not traditionally been in the room. Of course, she said this against the backdrop of just an historic week with many around the country pointing At The Derek Chauvin Verdict as a sign of justice being served. What more did she tell you about the significance of this week . It was really fascinating to be with her this week when we have had such a moment, a cultural moment. And a lot of hope thAt There is a Shift In with the racial divide and the incredible, horrible discrepancies of brutality, violence against people of color that weve seen over and over in the shift, of course, when i say that, i mean in terms of the verdict but what she said and made very, very clear to say thAt This is still a longterm project. She pushed for the congress to do its part to have a federal role, to legislate Police Reform but more broadly it was really fascinating to talk to her as she is settling into the 100day Mark of her role as Vice President in this moment. Not just because of the racial reckoning, but so many other issues. And she talks about how she is dealing with that and how she is approaching it. In public and in private with the president of the united states. So dana, i watched the house for years. You covered the house for years. Brianna has covered the house for a long time. I dont know if weve seen anything quite like this, so lets watch it. As a practical matter, Broadcast Tv affects the moral norms of the nation. I received complaints in my office and rightfully so about cardi b. And the grammys. They wonder why we are paying the fcc if they feel this should be in living rooms across the nation. Millions of americans would view her performance as inconsistent with basic decency. Wake up fcc and begin to do your job. The moral decline of america is partly due to your utter complacency. This is what representative republican Glenn Grothman chooses to take on this week. Cardi b. . This was six weeks ago. What are we seeing here . Its so blatant, its so obvious. This is a member of congress who is reaching as much as he can to stoke a cultural war, a culture divide. We have maybe not this particular rock star, maybe not this pop star, maybe not this particular issue, but Weve Sen this for decades, members of congress looking At The cultural issues in order to divert from real issues. And actually cardi b. Responded to him. She said that he should focus on other things. She was clearly referring to the fact that he is from wisconsin and that is a place where he should be there demanding justice for jacob blake. I just want to also tell you one other thing because i went back and looked. This is also a member of congress who in 2010 was campaigning in a primary and talked about a war on men that was destroying america because girls have an unfair advantage at work in the form of undeserved promotions. So i think we should consider the source here. Dont know how i made it this far with that war going on. We got your back, john. Thank you for being with us. Do not miss this special cnn Town Hall tonight hosted by dana bash. The climate crisis. Thats at 10 00 eastern on cnn. And see more of her One On one exclusive interview with Vice President Kamala Harris Sunday Morning at 9 00 on Cnns State of the union. Well, i think that in knowing the doctors at Vanderbilt Hospital here, which has been instrumental its been instrumental in the development of this, of one of the vaccines for sure, you know, they were talking to me about doing a campaign and showed me a lot of the data and, you know, when i look at my industry, the way its been gutted and the alternative, which is to continue on like we are, it cant happen. So weve got to get people back out there where they are going to come see shows and i think mentally, we need it. And i was all in. I said, yeah, absolutely. Lets do this and try to help this cause and move the ball down the field. You know there are people out there who are hesitant. You know there are people who are your fans who have my friends. What do you say to them . Well, i mean, they get an earful when they talk to me because ive done a lot of the deep dive on this with my friends that are that have a license to practice this. That are truly people who, not only have inside information on whats in these, but also on how effective they are. And basically, its a battle to sort of make sure thAt They are weighing the right pros and cons of this. And theres really its just really one of the modern miracles of medicine, what we are seeing. We shouldnt have this, this soon. In the sense thAt This has been so its been so storybook that we were able to get sort of out front of what would have been probably another surge. And the idea that weve come through with something that is effective is its something to be proud of. And i think as a nation, we are so close to being through this that im just trying to help get us there because weve got to get Back On The Road. Well, to that point, the one of the reasons we know were getting close is that youre Headlining Nashville the Fourth Of July concert. This is the first major postpandemic event. What does it mean to be able to have that on your calendar . It means everything to me. It means everything to my family, my band. It means a lot to my wife At The thought of me actually going Back On The Road and leaving the house once coming up is something shes really looking forward to. But the idea of playing at Lower Broadway in Nashville And Sort of saying, look what we accomplished, that we have gotten through this thing, is going to be one of the most i hope one of the most amazing moments of my career. And i think that nashville as a whole has been hit maybe in some ways twice as hard with our industry as anywhere. We just havent been able to do what we do to any great degree. Theres just so many musicians that are driving uber and delivering pizza instead of playing their road gigs. And the idea that we come through this and im standing and looking at a sea of fans, i really want to get there. Vaccinated fans . Will you feel safer if theyre all vaccinated . Well, sure, absolutely. I think weve got to hit a threshold on that. And, you know, everybody is sort of unsure as far as how far the virus got, whats that number and whats the Number Weve got to hit. But nashville has done a pretty good job of the rollout. One of the Stadium Rollouts where they did 10,000 in one day. People just drove through. I had two different Songwriter Buddies of mine get vaccinated the same day At The stadium where the titans play. So, i mean, we are heading that direction. So we just got to weve got to keep going. Well, it is going to be amazing that you are playing in july. We cant wait for that. Well see if your message is getting through to people. We sure hope that it does. Brad paysley, thank you. Vmware. Welcome change. The u. S. Is sending help to the ongoing search for the indonesian submarine with the 53 Crew Members that went missing during military exercises on wednesday. An identified object with strong Magnetic Resonance has been spotted At The search site. The sub has less than 24 hours of sufficient oxygen remaining. Joining us is tim taylor, the ceo Of Tiber and subsea. The object with this strong Magnetic Resonance, what might that mean . This is an area during World War ii where battles were waged and ships were sunk so it could be a wreck. There are littered the bottom is littered with different wreckage from World War ii. So it really depends . Its probably Something Steel or metal, but we dont know. There was an Oil Slick spotted early on in this search which could be either really good news or really bad news. Explain that and what hope you have . If Theres Oil leaking from a ship, it typically that would happen in a failure in the submarine. That being said, there are still wrecks that are sunk off North Carolina in World War ii that are leaking oil. So again, it can go back to an old Ship Wreck down there. So finding this is going to take technology. Theyll get the sonar in there soon and start sweeping the bottom and starting scanning for this and finding it is the key for this. Lets all hope there are still people alive in the sub. What could they or would they be doing now to try to get themselves rescued . Typically, if there are survivors in the submarine, depending on what condition its in, they would have options At Their disposal. Sometimes sonar buoys they can send out. Making noise, et cetera, that acoustics can find them. I think it really boils down to how deep this submarine was lost. If its in shallow enough water, these people can survive. If its deep, if they probably will not. And i spoke a second ago thAt The kids in the caves that were lost in the caves, we thought they were gone until we sent divers in and they found them. So you want to keep the hope alive. How are they conducting the search now . Well, all the vessels that are coming in, i believe they are bringing in Side Scan Sonar which is going to take images of the bottom with sound. So Lung Exposure images and theyll find any anomalies if theyre there and they can explore. What are the possibilities of things that could have gone wrong . Its human manmade object. Usually human error. But if they were doing a Torpedo Run like they say they are, they were doing a practice Torpedo Run. Could have been a problem with the torpedo tubes. Were they using live ordnance . Once a sub loses control and gets to a certain depth and it keeps its out of control, then things start crushing and failing and it could be one thing led to another, and then ultimately, the demise. Especially if its in deep water. Tim taylor, lets hope. Lets hope. And a day worth left of oxygen. Hopefully we always have hope. Appreciate you being here. Busy week. Gosh, it was. What a year this week has been. We should do a segment like that . Oh, we are. We did. Cnns coverage continues right now. It is friday. Good morning, everyone. So glad youre with us. Im poppy harlow.
