Well see longer snippets. The second is going to be the Police Used Excessive force against george floyd. We heard from a whole succession of prosecution witnesses. Former Police Officers including the Minneapolis Police chief testified what Derek Chauvin did was excessive use of force and finally the prosecution is going to remind the jury of the whole series of medical experts who testified all from different specialties that the bottom line cause of George Floyds death, medical cause was lack of oxygen caused by Derek Chauvins knee on George Floyds neck. Obviously the defense goes second. They get to see what the prosecution does first when they present their closing argument. Lets remember the defense does not have to outdo the prosecution. They just have to punch a hole in the reasonable doubt. First when it comes to medical causation, theyre going to remind the jury of their expert dr. Fowler who said george floyd died because of everything except George Floyds knee. Theyre going to blame drug use, the Carbon Monoxide theory. The second main theory were going to see from the defense is Derek Chauvins force was not use of force. They called one expert witness, barry brodd. He said what chauvin did was acceptable because Holding Someone down in a prone position is not, quote, use of force. The jury is to take it for whatever its worth. Theyre free to believe it or disbelieve it. When the defense is done T Prosecution will get a chance to come back and present brief rebuttal testimony. At that point the case will be handed over to the jury. The jury will deliberate in secret. We will not know what they were doing. All we will see is occasional notes that come out to the jury.
