>> aathena jones, in new york, thank you. i want to bring in cnn legal analyst and federal prosecutors jennifer rogers. new york's dell congratulations in congress, and 60 legislators have called on cuomo to resign. the governor says no, if he lost even his own party, how does he survive it? >> i mean, he survives simpbly n not leaving. we only impeached one governor, in 1913 and it may or may not be a repeat of that. it's unlikely. and the governor is going to test his ability, and our ability as new yorkers to see if he can govern anything resembling an affected manner without any help from his colleagues. the mayor of new york city, can he be governor on his own? andrew cuomo is basically daring the rest of his colleagues in government to see if which he do it. >> did he have good relationships with the people calling on his resignation before the allegations came out? >> he had terrible relationships with all of them, and frankly, people on the staff could acknowledge there. they had a ten-year period in which they have been abusive, and have driven people out of politics. think have been harsh, unpleasant. it's greatly documented and they took a flied how quote unquote tough they are. but he went from tough to tox sbix a lot of people now, former staffers and members of the media saying this is not the way to govern. the end does not justify the means. you can't be this bad to everybody all the time. come up with no friends in the ends and call yourself effective. especially if, this is important to keep in mind. this is what got the ball rolling if you make a mistake, and nursing homes and how shut have been handled in the covid crisis. and people are saying f we get abuse, and the bad treatment, at least be effective. >> the governor and his supporters are saying wait for the investigation to run its course. how long can it take? >> i think ana, we're talking about a matter of months, maybe three months. they have to follow where the investigation leads, and it's not going to happen in a matter of a few weeks, and we're not talking about -- millions of documents. so i think around the three-month mark, i want to see the report. >> they have appointed outside lawyers to lead the investigation, and set up an outside investigation, for those who have information relative to the investigation. do you think it's wise to cast that wide of a net? >> they will not be speaking to every person who calls in. they will vet the information that comes in, but they want to do a thorough investigation here and cast a net that anyone who has information that is useful. that is mostly going to be people who worked with the governor. have been accusations of women who did not, and they are pertinent pertinent as well. they are going to be by people, and that is not an endless number of people. >> the impeachment investigation in the new york state assembly. why do you think they are taking this route and they're not waiting for the investigation by the a.g.'s sfoffice? there. >> there are two schools of thought on it. they have a super majority. they have controlled it for some time. one theory, there are a lot of younger, more progressive members who are appalled at all that and they want to see the governor go, and they put a lot of pressure on the speaker to take some kind oaf an action. the other theory is they are actually helping governor cuomo with the thing he needs most, which is to buy time to put another investigation in motion, to cool things down, slow things down a little bit, to give him a chance to over and over again, let's wait for the facts before anyone rushes to judgment. and to the extend that happens, he is giving governor cuomo what he needs right now. >> what do you think is more problematic for the governor? the sexual harassment claims or allegations of nursing home deaths? >> interesting. before yesterday, i probably would have said said the nursing home allegations because the sexual harassment allegations didn't fall within the criminal realm. likely several allegations, and it's sparse on details but it did trigger a criminal referral to the police. now we have an actual potential criminal matter coming out. and that i think is going to be a top priority for the governor. and his legal team moving forward. >> errol i have to get your take on how bill deblade blasio resp. we are seeing a pattern of lying, adding, the governor must resign. he cannot longer do the job. and the deaths in addition to the allegations related to sexual harassment. we flow is a history and no love lost between these two. what do you they is de blasio is thinking? >> there is no love lost, and he is saying at a amplified level, we cannot trust the governor and his staff. they have not been straight with us. they hid information about a vitally important matter involving 15,000 deaths. that is serious stuff. they had any number of negative interactions, the unprofessional conduct, calling and berating them, and going behind them and interfering with them -- >> do you think they are relishing it in a bit? >> a political blood bath is not a pleasant thing to look at. there is blood in the water. the sharks are circling. it's been a decade's worth of abuse that came out of the second floor of the capitol, and now people are trying to hit back to the extend they can. >> errol lewis and jennifer rogers, the plot thickens, thank you. president 3w50iden has ordered states to open up by may 1st. he says it needs to happen sooner. we will discuss next, live in the cnn newsroom.
