Book report: The Blessing Way, Tony Hillerman, 1970. Meet Navajo Lt. Joe Leaphorn. He is the detective of the story but not the hero in the long run. In spite of the title the Navajo ceremony in the story is actually The Enemy Way. Joe Leaphorn is in nearly all of Hillerman Navajo stories since they are all mysteries using Navajo logic to solve. Witches, or what people who are called witches, is a strong line in this story. The guy who is believed to be the witch does like to do his thing with a wolf head and skin over his head. This is a fast read. I thought I had read all of Hillerman’s books but I didn’t remember this one. Now I have to read the other ones I have again. If you like mysteries that are a bit different you might like this one.
