Cheboygan Daily Tribune CHEBOYGAN — On March 23, the Cheboygan City Council was updated by representatives from the Michigan Department of Transportation on the road construction project beginning April 12 on U.S. 23 from Duncan Avenue to Cordwood Road. David Krentz, construction engineer from the Michigan Department of Transportation Alpena Transportation Service Center and Kim Mullins, senior technician on the project with MDOT addressed the project that starts within city limits and goes out close to the Cheboygan County line. The project is the reconstruction of U.S. 23 from east of Cordwood Road to just east of Duncan Avenue in the city limits. The work will include hot mix asphalt base crushing, shaping of the road bed and a new asphalt surface being put down to replace the old, worn out surface.
