Cindy Buys, Professor of International Law at SIU School of Law, will share first-hand impressions of the situation in Ukraine on March 6 at 10:30 a.m. Processor Buys has visited Ukraine twice, most recently to attend a conference of international lawyers and scholars. Because there are no commercial flights into Ukraine, she flew into Warsaw and was bussed into Ukraine. She thus has impressions of the situation in Poland to share as well. <br/><br/>Since joining the SIU School of Law faculty in 2001, Cindy Buys has served as a Professor, Director of International Law Programs, and Interim Dean. She is a Fulbright Senior Specialist and has been a Visiting Professor at both Bangor University in Wales and Nicolaus Copernicus University in Poland. She has received both the Outstanding Teacher of the Year and the Outstanding Scholar of the Year as well as other state and national awards for her work and her service.<br/><br/>The session, free and open to the public, will be at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 1501 W.
