For much of the past decade, Chuckles Comedy House has been top spot to see stand-up in the Memphis area. But since March 2020, the club has been mostly dark due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Starting this month, however, some of the top talent in the comedy world will be returning to the Cordova venue. “I get so many people saying I haven’t had a laugh in a long time,” Chuckles owner Michael Ware said. “And it’s like they say, laughter is the best medicine.” This week, Chuckles will host the female stand-up package tour, “Vivica A. Fox Presents: Funny By Nature.” Then in early May, Faizon Love (“Friday,” “Elf”), appears as part of a Mother’s Day weekend set, kicking off a run of appearances by veteran stand-up stars including Michael Colyar, Eddie Griffin, Michael Blackson, D.L. Hughley and Oscar winner Mo’Nique, among others.
