Sheriff’s Office says it appears to be a tragic accident. | March 14, 2021, 12:16 a.m. A 3-year-old child died in what the Cache County Sheriff’s Office said looks like a tragic accident after the child was found in a river behind the child’s home in Lewinston on Saturday. The Sheriff’s Office was sent to look for a missing child, but the search turned into a possible drowning investigation when the battery powered four-wheeler the child had been riding on was found in the river. The child was found in the river before officers arrived. Life saving measures were performed, but the child did not survive.
