Chesterfield County schools employees to get 4% raise

Chesterfield County Public Schools employees in Virginia are receiving a 4% salary increase as part of the school division's $913.7 million operating budget. The increase is $28.9 million higher than the FY24 budget, with $24.9 million of that allocated toward employee compensation. The budget also includes state-required increases for custodial services, special education transportation, reading specialists, and other services, as well as $3.5 million for maintaining service levels of staff such as bilingual liaisons, social workers, and human resources specialists. The overall financial plan stands at $997.8 million, which includes the operating budget, a $39.4 million grants fund, a $39.3 million federal food service fund, and $5.4 million from the Appomattox Regional Governor's School.
