CHESAPEAKE, Va. - Chesapeake's Commissioner of the Revenue, Frank King, has announced that he will not seek re-election and will retire before the end of his current term.
King announced Wednesday that he is going to retire before his term ends on December 31. The position will be on the November ballot.
King was elected as Commissioner of Revenue in November 2017. Before that position he served as Deputy and Chief Deputy Commissioner. He retires after more than 32 years of experience within the office. Prior to King, Ray A. Conner held the position for more than 33 years.
