The government is set to launch the Charminar Pedestrianisation Project (CPP) to safeguard the Charminar monument and its surroundings from pollution and traffic congestion. The project includes a restoration plan that will recreate the historic shopping street's unique character by restoring the streetscape's original charm, conservation and rebuilding of historically significant buildings, including the Charminar's facade and the Unani Hospital.
