Charles Patrick "Pat" Venable, age 74, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Monday evening, April 4, 2022, at Mattoon Rehabilitation & Health Care Center. He was born May 27, 1947, in Effingham, the son of Nolan and Elizabeth (Guyott) Venable. Pat was a graduate of Flora High School and went on attend Olney Community College and Eastern Illinois University. He served in the Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. Pat lived and worked many years in St. Louis, Missouri, before retiring to Flora. He was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, enjoyed fishing, genealogy, joking, and laughing. He was a member of Flora First Christian Church. He is survived by a sister, Carol Poehler of Galloway, Ohio; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Mike Venable; brother-in-law, Bill Poehler; nephew, Jamen Venable; and a great-niece, Elizabeth Poehler. In honoring Pat's wishes, there will be no services. Private interment will take place in Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements are by Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.
