Baawobr, has urged Parliament to enact laws against Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex (LGBTQI) life in the country. He said Ghanaian customs and the church recognised marriage to be between a man and a woman and not between a man and a man or a woman and a woman, adding that “for the church, this is morally wrong, as it goes against the purpose of marriage”. The Most Rev. Baawobr also reminded Parliament of the call by the Ghana Catholic Bishops Conference not to concede to any external pressure to legalise LGBTQ in the country.
