Summer is back in full swing on the Central Coast with many events remerging from the pandemic lockdowns."It's actually pretty nice to have people out here enjoying themselves after the pandemic. Getting people out here to look around, family time. Get some good food, good drinks," said Ruby Rodriguez, working with Las Mini Frescas vendor. The Castroville Party in the Plaza is back after being canceled last year during the pandemic. People were eager to come out and have some family fun."Everyone can show support for everyone," said Fred Lomboy, a member of the Castroville Midnighters Car Club. "And just to hang out and have a good time to show off our cars. Every car is a piece of art." Other club members agreed."We get to meet each other, talk to each other. It's just all family-based. And having the community to feel as a family event," said Elanis Magallan, Castroville Midnighter Car Club member. The event is put on by three car clubs: Castroville Midnighters, Immortal, and East Side Riders from San Jose. The fun time also sought to raise money that will go back to help with the community. Such as the car club selling T-shirts or cupcakes at the plaza party. "We've all lost something this past year. To give it forward...does something in our hearts to pay it forward," said Leticia Flores, Immortal Car Club member.
