The cast of
Call the Midwife has commended the "huge effort" made by the production team in creating a "COVID-safe" set to ensure that the Christmas special was made in time, despite filming delays imposed by the pandemic.
In a new behind-the-scenes clip shared on the
Call the Midwife's official Twitter account, Helen George, Stephen McGann and Jenny Agutter shared their "relief" that the special was completed, despite being six months behind in filming.
Alongside the video, the caption read: "A #CallTheMidwife Christmas video exclusive: 'Beating, rather than beaten' - With the current pandemic news being so negative, our team reflect on their joy and relief at being able to deliver our Christmas Special in time for Christmas Day this year."
