Speaking at last week’s meeting, resident Ros Evans asked what has happened since Barnard Castle Town Council agreed last year to begin talks on problems such as HGVs damaging the Market Cross. Parish clerk Martin Clark replied that the town council had been invited by Highways England to send two members to its community liaison group to discuss and raise issues or questions about the forthcoming A66 upgrade.
