Bush v. Gore, legal case in which the U.S. Supreme Court reversed a Florida Supreme Court’s recount order of the state’s presidential ballots in 2000. With the termination of the recount, Florida’s electoral votes were awarded to George W. Bush, giving him the electoral votes needed to be elected president.
