Budget allocation for North India increased to Rs 55,820 crore

National Highways will be undertaken in the State in the coming three years,besides making provision of Rs 1,000 crores for the welfare of Tea workers, especially women and their children in Assam and West Bengal. The budget announced a special scheme will be devised for the same.

GUWAHATI: For North-eastern states, Budget 2021-22 has increased allocation to Rs 55,820 crore from Rs 41,764 crore in 2020-21.
The budget has announced that works of more than Rs 34,000 crores covering more than 1300 kms of National Highways will be undertaken in the State in the coming three years,besides making provision of Rs 1,000 crores for the welfare of Tea workers, especially women and their children in Assam and West Bengal. The budget announced a special scheme will be devised for the same.
