More than 1,700 shoppers visited the Swindon and Wiltshire Pride shop at the Brunel during December. The shop originally reopened at the town centre shopping centre on October 31 but had to close during November due to the national lockdown. During its operation, the shop provided free sanitary products and condoms, as well as sexual health information and local support groups. It also sold Pride merchandise that will help fund the Swindon and Wiltshire Pride event next summer. Phoenix Stewart, Swindon and Wiltshire Pride's community engagement manager, said: "We wanted the rainbow window to be the first thing visitors to the Brunel Shopping Centre saw, a proud visible sign and a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community.”
