Britain has its own problem with East and South East Asian racism

When I was in secondary school, I was walking through the park when a man flashed his penis at me. I was so appalled I froze and only started running home when he was out of sight. I was so young that I didn’t understand this was even a crime. I called my school first so they could announce this incident in assembly the next day, as they did with all the other flashers.
My mum asked me uncomfortably, “Do you think this happened because you’re Chinese?”
I can never be certain why the pervert picked me that day. But who is to say him electing a British Chinese schoolgirl to dangle his penis at wasn’t racist?
