Aged care homes and hospitals will be closed to non-essential visitors in Greater Brisbane for the next three days after a doctor tested positive to Covid-19. Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk announced the new restrictions on Saturday after a doctor at Princess Alexandra Hospital, in Brisbane, returned a positive result. The junior medic had assessed two patients who had the more-deadly UK variant of the virus on Wednesday before she tested positive on Friday, and genomic testing is underway to confirm whether the doctor has the same strain.
