FIREFIGHTERS faced a day of animal rescues in the Bradford district today. Fairweather Green were called to Chellow Dean this morning, to rescue some trapped geese. They were called to the same spot last month following a call from a concerned member of the public. Firefighters rescued the animals and also put a call into the RSPCA. Meanwhile, firefighters from Bingley were called to Dixons Academy in Cottingley, where a deer was trapped in some railings. They used a spreader to free it and it managed to run back off into some trees, a spokesperson said.
