By Joel Malkin The pandemic continues to hurt those working in Florida's service industry. The Boca Raton Resort and Club says it's laying off nearly a thousand employees, because of the economic downturn created by the coronavirus. According to the Palm Beach Post, the employees work at the landmark Boca resort as well as the Boca Beach Club and Boca Country Club. The employees who will be let go effective February 6th include nearly 140 servers, 49 cooks, housekeepers, massage therapists and administrative staff. The company furloughed the 995 employees back in March. Photo: Getty Images
