e-mails contained top-secret information. a higher classification than previously reported, although the clinton campaign says those e-mails were not marked classified at the time. due to the development of today, what is the worst-case scenario for hillary clinton? johnmark: that they find undeled e-mails that she did not turnover that contains classified information and information that was government business that shoul she did not hand over. that is certainly within the realm of possibility and the fbi is being aggressive in going after trying to figure out what happened with how she handled information on the private server. john: we know -- we have not done a lot of coding -- when you delete things, you don't really delete them. the question will be raised are these things really deleted? if you start digging into the guts of the machine, what do they find? if they don't find anything, which is the point you have made, if they don't find anything, people will say wow, they must have been hiding something. if they do find something whether it is the nature you said or has something with the foundation business -- mark: that would have to be leaked. john: there have been some leaks as you are aware, so that can be problematic, too. as we get to the nexus of government and foundation. mark: this gives a wedge for the republican investigators on capitol hill to piggyback. they wanted the server and are not getting it yet. now the justice department has opened the door and will say look, we need to look at it. it is not good for her and it is not going away. look up in the sky -- it is a bird, it is a plane, no, it is super bernie. bernie sanders in a new poll of new hampshire finds that sanders is leading clinton 44-37 among democrats. it is the first time in any poll we have seen anywhere that hillary clinton's number is lower than bernie sanders'. sanders had those big crowds and a lot of star power, including endorsements from celebrities such as sarah silverman, susan sarandon. as bernie continues to fly high, should hillary clinton, can hillary clinton do anything to stop his movement or slow it down? john: right now, she is pretending he does not exist. it is a good look for her to be attacking donald trump or marco rubio. at the same time, this phenomenon keeps growing. she now has these hollywood stars on his side. he's got this a little obama like buzz. it is clear that a lot of people in the polls still say he don't -- they don't think he will be the nominee. somehow, she has to figure out a way to talk about that and say, i know you are having fun, but you will not vote for him. mark: you will hear bill clinton make that argument, if he is still hanging around. i think she cannot risk going negative on him and doing opposition research. i do think she has to find a way to slow them down. she needs to study his record harder than she has. maybe unleash bill clinton. and somehow send a message it is not about electability, she needs to make the case she would be a better president. john: she could take bernie on on his own terms and say i will not go negative. i would just talk about the issues. mark: what would they be? john: she could say you are a socialist on these things, right? she needs to find an artful way to do it, but do what her husband in 1992 and say this is not the way to win the presidency in 2016. mark: this is just one poll. if he continues to be ahead or even, they need to figure out what to do before the new year. isn: john ellis bush bush heading to las vegas tonight. do not mistake him for the gambling type. although he has been taking hit after hit, bush really offers a hint of criticism towards the front runner. just to give you a sense of what it is like to be jeb these days, here are some of the insult the donald has lobbed at him. mr. trump: when he talked about women's health issues, he was so bad. is he like what he doing? there is no energy there. we need energy! when jeb bush raises $114 million, jeb bush is totally controlled by the people who gave him the money. there is not enough enthusiasm, there is not anything. jeb bush when i be able to negotiate against mexico. you know what he is going to say? uh, uh, and go back to sleep, ok? john: right cross, uppercut, bam, pow. here is how jeb decided how to counterpunch. mr. bush: i will not play the game that everybody wants people running for president to do -- to see how what -- to say that another person is worse than another person or say a person's philosophy is not right. i want to unite our party to beat hillary clinton or whoever it might be to reverse the trends in this country. john: that is not counterpunching. my question for you is given that trump is throwing punches, how big of a problem is that for jeb bush? mark: trump is going easy on everyone else. a new poll in iowa has trump winning. the polls are suggesting the debate did not kill him. he can start doing paid ads against jeb. he can keep making him the embodiment of the establishment and has nobody to attack at this point. jeb has money in the bank and i think trump is trying to intimidate jeb and his super pacs from going after him. it is bad news for jeb bush. he has enough problems. john: his situation -- we have ll.s new iowa po jeb is in mid-single digits. he need a trump strategy and does not seem to have one right now. mark: sad breaking news from president jimmy carter -- he has cancer. it was revealed after he had liver surgery. it is in other parts of his body. the former president plans to undergo treatment in atlanta. we are thinking about president carter and his family. we wish him well. coming up, we talked up with dr. ben carson in harlem for a chat earlier today. we will have that for you after this word from our sponsors. ♪ mark: ben carson drive-by got them city today -- dropped by gotham city today to meet with carson. it was a place with all the food. dr. carson, your first time to sylvia's. how did it go? dr. carson: it was wonderful. the food was spectacular. i loved it. mark: what are the other landmarks in new york city that you would still like to go to? dr. carson: i have not been to the 9/11 memorial until this morning. that was really eye-opening. i have never been to the top of the statue of liberty. i have been on ellis island. i would like to do that. mark: this is a great city, but it has problems like most urban places. what are one or two cities that are working as models as the way urban areas should work? dr. carson: i'm not sure that there are any that are absolute models, but i do think there is some general principles that are very important. fiscal responsibility. the cities that have both governors and mayors that are fiscally responsible obviously are the ones that have done the best right now. i think that is a general principle. as we look throughout the nation, it's just, i guess, maybe could it be coincidence that the ones who have governors that are fiscally responsible tend to be the ones in the black and doing better. john: you get asked questions about black lighves matter. you talk a lot about culture. do you think there is a problem with systematic bias within police forces in america against african-americans? dr. carson: like i said, i think fear and unfamiliarity creates problems on both sides. and the way you solve that problem is to create relationships. it is not surprising, obviously. if you take people who might come from two different cultures and you put them together in a naturally conflicting way that you will have problems. that should not be surprising anybody. john: there are proposals out there to try to change police practices like body cameras. do you think those changes are necessary and, if so, what changes would you like to see? dr. carson: i think body cameras are very important. i love it. pretty soon teachers might start after wearing them, too. mark: presidential candidates. dr. carson: everybody. i think the thing that is most important is introducing police into communities who are known in the community. there used to be deep conflict in this community. still, in some communities there are. i was talking to an officer in baltimore. he says everybody knows him in the neighborhood. he says he never has to worry about things. people ask him to come on in. that is what happens when you have relationships. that can stop a lot of this. john: one more thing on this topic -- criminal justice reform. people are concerned about the incarceration rates for african americans. do you think there should be things done for criminal justice reform and what would they be specifically? dr. carson: specifically, there are certain nonviolent crimes that probably could be punished differently than sticking them into criminal university where they learn to be criminals, where they learn to become violent criminals, where they develop relationships with the wrong people. so, clearly, that is something that is to be looked at. complex,e prison the way it is becoming an industry which needs to be fed, that is absolutely the wrong model. we have 5% of the world population and 25% of inmates. that is deplorable. acknowledge it is a problem and make adjustments. mark: your party controls the house. what is something you think two of them as republican leaders are doing well now? dr. carson: well, they are leading their respective bodies. at least able to bring some things to the floor. i would like to see them be a lot more aggressive. mark: in what ways? what specific ways? dr. carson: specifically, for instance, with the recent supreme court rulings on gay marriage. i would like them to come out with very specific proposals that will protect the religious freedoms of people so they are not losing their careers, their shops because of their religious beliefs. i think that needs to be done yesterday. mark: even if the president were to beveto it? dr. carson: they should do it in a way that the president would dare not veto it. john: there is a deal being considered on iran. let's presume the deal becomes law of the land. if you became president in january of 2017, would you try to get rid of the deal as soon as you got into office or would you let it stand? dr. carson: i don't think that is a reasonable deal at all. anxious to come up with something better. if we could not come up with something better to reimpose severe sanctions and to do whatever else is necessary, because a nuclear armed iran will be a nightmare. john: you would revoke the agreement as soon as he became president? -- you became president? dr. carson: i would either revoke it or do something else that is appropriate. mark: last few questions -- first is if you were to become a program -- a slogan for sylvia's, what would it be? dr. carson: the best collard greens in the world. mark: that is a good slogan. you were seen more than more people have ever seen you in the debate. i'm wondering if more people are recognizing you after the debate? dr. carson: no question. a lot of people are coming in saying i did not know who you were. the wonderful thing -- i was in the airport yesterday. a lady came up to me and said i'm a staunch democrat, but i love you. mark: that's pretty good. that can be your slogan. great to see you. enjoy new york. our thanks to ben carson. we will be right back with john kasich's new best friend after a word from our sponsors. ♪ mark: our guest tonight is new hampshire gruru john rath who supported mitt romney, george w. bush, george herbert walker bush and, as of today, john kasich. tom, thank you for joining us from manchester. you are the most coveted endorser of the granite state in the republican party. you have given the endorsement to john kasich. why?
