Sathish Kumpala, former vice-president of Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat, has been appointed as the president of the Dakshina Kannada unit of BJP and Kishore Kumar as president of the Udupi unit of the party. Strengthening the party in the district before the Lok Sabha election is the immediate challenge before Kumpala.
