Belmont Town Meeting will decide future of Belmont Light governance

There are eight non-financial articles to be voted on at the upcoming spring town meeting which will run May 3 to May 5. The outcome could change the way Belmont Light is governed, the name of a major holiday and the future of new construction in Belmont. 
Resolution to establish Indigenous Peoples' Day
Article 10 asks Towm Meeting to vote to support the establishment of Indigenous Peoples Day. It was presented to the Select Board by Alex Fick, president of Belmont High School Student Activist Club. More than 175 cities and states have made the change including Cambridge, Brookline, Newton, Somerville and Melrose.
