Belarus restricts poultry import from Sweden, Hungary due to avian flu An archive photo MINSK, 26 January (BelTA) - Belarus has restricted poultry import from Kalmar (Sweden) and Bacs-Kiskun (Hungary) due to the avian flu outbreak, BelTA learned from the Veterinary and Food Control Department of the Agriculture and Food Ministry. The World Organization for Animal Health reported on cases of high pathogenic avian influenza (H5) in the above-mentioned areas. In this regard Belarus has introduced restrictions on the import of live birds, hatching eggs, poultry meat, egg powder, egg mixture, other food products from processed eggs, down and feather, hunting trophies (bird game), and other products from Kalmar (Sweden) and Bacs-Kiskun (Hungary) from 27 January.
