Bedford schools' special ed teacher receives state honor

An adapted special education teacher at Jefferson Forest High School, Genevieve Weaver said the job has her literally laughing all day through inspiring interactions with students. That joy was at a fever pitch in JF’s library Wednesday when Weaver was recognized as the Region 5 Virginia Teacher of the Year by Virginia Superintendent of Public Instruction Lisa Coon.
