At the moment, its almost calm and then suddenly, like this, gets much, much worse. Now, the city here around me is pretty much deserted. About half the residents have gone and the other half are really hunkering down, waiting to see what milton will bring after quite apocalyptic warnings about the nature of this hurricane and the damage it could inflict on florida. Even before milton makes landfall, it is already making its presence felt. You can see here the Wind And Rain lashing Palm Trees at this beach resort. And the storm has triggered the formation of tornadoes in southern florida, where people have been urged to take shelter. These are two of the ten different twisters that have been reported so far across the state. This one was filmed in clewiston, florida, on the states west coast. Tornado warnings are also in place for other parts of florida. And here you can see some of the damage from those tornadoes. You have people scrambling to get to whatever location it is that they need to get to, but officials have said, you should be, earlierthis morning, you should have been wherever it is. At this point, people are hunkering down, waiting to see how the storm can impact this area. The Tampa Bay area has not had area. The Tampa Bay area has not had a major hurricane make a direct landfall since 1921, over a century ago. Everyone here isjust keeping a close eye on that track, even though it is currently trending south. It could still have a major impact unlike anything the Tampa Bay area has seen in modern history. Another point i should make is that because so many folks were displaced, hotels in Central Florida have already been packed. There is a Housing Crunch to find shelter. It is just so difficult for the folks of those communities, some people telling me theyjust dont know if they can go back and live there again after what theyve been through.
