plus massachusetts and vermont. voting continues in california, utah and alaska. super tuesday is also a crucial moment for former governor nikki haley's campaign which is hoping to slow down mr trump's momentum as the republican frontrunner. tuesday's contest is the us presidential primary*s largest prize with more than one—third of the total delegates available expected to be awarded for both republicans and democrats. and we want to bring you live pictures now from donald trump's victory party in mar—a—lago, florida. we can have a look at that scene there. we're expecting the former president to speak this hour. we'll bring you some of that live. when he takes to the stage. joining me live, our emma vardy in denver, colorado. she is in denver. of course, donald trump and joe biden both projected to be the winners in colorado but talk us through how the day and did not have gone so far question? the exnected _ gone so far question? the expected predicted - gone so far question? tue: expected predicted result gone so far question? tte: expected predicted result here is being projected a win for donald trump on the republican side and joe biden on the democrat side but let's look beneath the overall picture for a moment because one of the big questions was about how many voters sorry my air pace is not behaving. how many voters would go for the noncommitted option on the colorado ballot paper, colorado one of six states that gave voters this choice, a protest vote againstjoe biden mostly from young voters who feel dissatisfied about his handling of the israel — gaza. it looks like 7% of the democratic voters here went for the noncommitted option, nowhere near enough to threaten joe biden*s position as the democratic nominee but, it is rather a thorn in his side, and unwonted protest vote coming at a time when he would want the democratic party to be united to challenge donald trump. what does it mean looking forward to the presidential election? it shows joe the presidential election? it showsjoe biden has problems with his own democratic supporters, some un— enthusiasm for him people worried about his age, dissatisfaction with the handling of the war with israel and gaza and that could mean a risk for him democratic supporters who might normally go and vote democrat do not feel enthused about getting up off the sofa and casting a vote. could be those people who decide to stay at home which is a risk forjoe biden and might give donald trump an edge. we were out speaking to some of those people today that seems to be the biggest problem for democrats, a lack of enthusiasm we see that with the noncommitted option on the ballot. tt noncommitted option on the ballot. t. noncommitted option on the ballot. h, ., ~ noncommitted option on the ballot. ., ~ ., ballot. if we can talk about the republican _ ballot. if we can talk about the republican side - ballot. if we can talk about the republican side of- ballot. if we can talk about l the republican side of things donald trump projected as the winner, he was not definitely on the ballot paper and still the declaration from the supreme court yesterday to that impact our voters approached this race? —— did that impact. a group voters try to challenge things through the court, tried to argue the old amendment in the constitution they say because donald trump has engaged in an inspection because of his role in the january six rights he should not be eligible to be a presidential candidate. it was upheld by courts in colorado but overturned by the supreme court. i don't think that came as a big surprise to many voters here and people on both sides said we don't want to vote for trumpet we want to see him on the ballot because if he is not on the ballot doesn't look like a fair fight in a democracy no matter how much you just like a candidate you want them to get a fair chance and be defeated at the ballot box not defeated through some sort of legal case at the courts. it was the feeling we picked up from voters on both sides of the divide. it did provide an added talking point going into today when we got the last result from the supreme court which would have put trump on the ballot. what it had made difference in the way people voted? a large proportion in colorado do a postal vote so that would put in notes long before the supreme community are gathering, you can see them behind us watching as results of our expected to come in less than an hour. is probably the most enthusiasm we have seen all day surrounding super tuesday, we spoke to some voters not sure if they were voting, some voters did not know there was a primary on today's. students here are especially politically minded and engaged and they talk to us about what matters to them. things like democracy, us foreign policy, the us place on the global stage, that does not really reflect what we heard from voters elsewhere in california, in san diego and also lost angeles today were again those treetop issues you have discussed all night cost of living, the economy and immigration were really top of mind and foryoung immigration were really top of mind and for young voters to follow up on what we heard from emma a sense of lack of enthusiasm is something we notice among younger voters around los angeles today many of them telling us they have not voted in the last few election cycles and they don't plan to vote in this primary, let's see what they decided the general election, a lack of enthusiasm and a sense politics and parties are not listening to well being is very important in such a difficult economy. she wants to make sure any big projects the candidates are promising do not involve a lot of text dollars because it will impact her bottom line. as for some voters we spoke to in san diego immigration is an issue we have heard over and over with the larger hispanic community telling us they want to see the candidates promised to see the candidates promised to do something on the one hand to do something on the one hand to relieve the situation along border communities but also provide more care for migrants who are arriving, in a few minutes now and look at some foreign policy developments, and how they could relate to the us election campaign. first with the middle east, the white house has been urging israel to do more to address the humanitarian situation in gaza. earlier on tuesday, president biden warned that there are "no excuses" for not allowing more aid into the territory. this comes as us secretary of state antony blinken has been meeting with israeli war cabinet member benny gantz tuesday. he's a long—time political opponent of israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu. and qatar's prime minister was also in washington to discuss ongoing efforts to secure the release of hostages held by hamas and establish a humanitarian pause in the conflict. and of course there's the ongoing war in ukraine, where infighting here in washington has held up further us aid to the country's war effort against russia. joining me live is kori schake, director of foreign and defense policy studies at the american enterprise institute. and a former republican defense official in the bush administration. we've seen opposition from within the democratic party tojoe biden*s handling of the israel/gaza war, how do you see that playing out over the next few months of this campaign?2. ido i do think it's a big problem for the president on the democratic side of the aisle stop because his position is not only out of step with the view in particular of the young voters he needs in the presidential election but also having invested so much of his political capital in support of israel, he looks ineffectual in influencing israel's choices. the us now has two airdrop assistants into palestinians because israel is not permitting it, it is difficult for the president to explain to especially young american democrats. his relationship with israel moved from an embrace of netanyahu in israeljust days after the horrific attacks of october 7th, to the strong language from him in recent days about allowing aid to gaza and members of his administration meeting benny gantz, has the relationship changed? the biden white house is getting increasingly frustrated, that they are unable to influence the netanyahu government choices. and some of the statements by major officials in the netanyahu government are very difficult for an american president to be able to support or explain to americans, who support him in the presidential election. ., , , , election. the other issue is ukraine and _ election. the other issue is ukraine and russia - election. the other issue is ukraine and is - delivered. the way to understand it is in - delivered. the way to - understand it is in conjunction with decisions about the abandonment of afghanistan, the shopping photographs from august 2021, that that is the point where president biden*s poll numbers began to drop and never really recovered. because even americans who supported the policy of ending our involvement in the afghan war were shocked at seeing how the biden administration executed it stop an administration that campaigned on being disciplined professionals and so to carry over, to carry over into the discussion of ukraine, at the start, the commitment of support to ukraine that raised american concerns about afghanistan. this was what it looked like done right. but now in the third year of russia's latest invasion of ukraine, the president does not seem to know how to bring it to an end and is not able to deliver the bipartisan support for it and so again it raises questions about an administration that campaigned on being not chaotic like the trump administration. what does that mean for american intervention or influence in other situations around the world, we look at what is happening in haiti in the far —— disinformation and social media correspondent marianna spring reports. i spend a lot of time investigating harmful content on social media stop people are worried about the impact of these images, what is going on right now? on social media i found ai generated images showing trump with black voters. look at the fingers some facial features and sky any shin show it is al. this image showing him this was an amazing, an amazing night and an amazing day it's been an incredible period of time in our country's history it's been said in so many ways but i think it's going to be inspiring because we would do something that frankly, nobody has been able to do for a long time. , ~ , has been able to do for a long time. , * , * * ,, m time. cheering and applause. we have watched _ time. ukraine, we would not have israel being attacked, he ran as you know is broke when i was running things they were broke they did not have money or hamas, they did not have money for his bowler, we had no inflation, inflation is destroying the middle class, it is destroying everything if you look back over the history of hundreds of years back inflation is called a country buster and that is what it is doing to our country. what has happened with inflation has been unbelievable. a lot of people say a lot of experts have said the stock market is the only and doing well and thatis the only and doing well and that is doing well because our poll on business is much higher thanjoe biden stop. he is the worst president in the history of our country. there is never been anything like what's happening to our country. today it was announced that 325,000 people were flown in from parts unknown, migrants were flown in, aeroplane not going through the great texas barrier that i was with the governor of texas, greg abbott the other day and looking at the job they are doing but in the meantime they are pouring into california and pouring into arizona because those governors are not doing anything, they are doing nothing. today it was announced before i came out, it was unbelievable i that must be a mistake, they flew three 25,000 migrants, flew them over and opened the borders into our country. so that really tell you is where they are coming from. they want open borders and open borders will destroy our country. we need borders and we need free and fair elections and we do not have a country, this is an incredible group of people so many celebrities i will not introduce any because i will get myself in trouble if i do that because i will leave out most of you this is a room full of incredible talented people like some of the guys standing right in front of me. big futures, big fat beautiful futures. 0h! futures, big fat beautiful futures. oh! i futures, big fat beautiful futures. 0h! iwould futures, big fat beautiful futures. oh! i would love to be your age, futures. oh! i would love to be yourage, i futures. oh! i would love to be your age, i would give you a lot of money to be your age. we have some tremendously talented people in this room including tremendously talented political people that have helped me right from the beginning. we have the safest board in the history of our country. we built 571 miles of wall, we had mexico supply us with 28,000 soldiers because we wanted them that's why and they said we will not do that i said yes you well. in the end, they did. it was an easy negotiation but we had the safest board and the best numbers we have ever had and now we have worse numbers probably in the history of the world. it is sad to see what is happening to our cities, cities are being overrun with migrant crime. that isjoe biden migrant crime. it is a new category of crime and it is violent. they will stand in the will of the street and have fistfights with police officers and if they did that in their countries from where they came, they would be killed instantly. they would not do that. so the world is laughing and at —— the world is laughing and at —— the world is laughing at us, three years ago we were at a level we were energy independent and we would shortly be energy dominant today getting oil from venezuela, can you believe it? we are doing numbers on that oil. we are refining the oil, we have a refinery for that oil, i call it tar, it is not oil, i call it tar, it is not oil, it is terrible, we have the real stuff we are refining it in houston, for all the environmentalists you should look at that because all of that tar was going right up into the atmosphere, you ought to take a look, it is the only plant that can do it, we have the only plants that can take car and make it into oil and that's what it is. it is a shame. we are energy independent we will be injured —— energy dominant and supplying oil to europe and all over the world in a tragic thing happened during the election it was a tragedy. because you would not think about all of the problems they have today i do not think you would have any of them. you would have any of them. you would only have success and thatis would only have success and that is what is ultimately going to unify this country and unify this party. we have a great republican party with tremendous talent, and we want to have unity and we are going to have unity and we are going to have unity and we are going to have unity and it's going to happen very quickly. and i have been saying lately, success will bring unity to our country and it happened before. we had the best economy our country has ever had and people were calling me that i would have said would never happen it will never happen, they wanted to get together, african—americans, asian—americans, hispanic—american, women, men, people with diplomas from the best schools in the world, and people that did not graduate from high school, every single group, was doing better than ever before. and it was a beautiful thing. ever before. and it was a beautifulthing. 0ur ever before. and it was a beautiful thing. our country was coming together. our country was coming together. now we have a very divided country. we have a country that a political person uses weaponisation against his political opponent, never happened here. it happens in other countries but they are third world countries, and in some ways we are a third world country at our borders and third world countries at our elections and we had to stop that. we need a fair and free press, the press has not been fair nor has it been free but maybe someday they will be, they are being beaten up pretty badly, people are not trusting them or believing them. and it is a very important factor, the press used to be the policemen, it used to police our country now nobody has confidence in them and we have to get that confidence back, it is so important for the success of our country. so important. cheering and applause. so. our country. so important. cheering and applause. so, this has been a day — cheering and they are strong and very capable people and they love the country, they really do, they love the country and we appreciate it. donald trump delivering his victory speech from mara logo in florida, a couple of polls still open but so far he has been projected as the winner in about ten states so far. we are joined by our panel. with me is rodney davis, former republican congressman from illinois, stephanie murphy, former democratic congresswoman from florida, and anthony zurcher, our north america correspondent. lots of points they're made by donald trump in his speech, anthony one thing you might explain to us he mentioned a figure of 325,000 illegal immigrants flowing into the us. what does that figure relate to? ., , ., ., , to? people who had been applying _ to? people who had been come to the united states where they could be processed, something some of the entire immigration group have been filing medium of information requests on and more details of how many are flying and how many released. they pay for their own flights. rodney if i could turn to some points donald trump said, he said america is a third world country does not have a free and fair press, is that the the very wrong track and to be able to use phrases like a third world country or the press is not fair, i can tell you plenty of examples during my time in congress with a dress we may be a little biased against republicans but i have also found them to be biased against democrats, on certain types of media outlets. he is going to continue to talk this way because he thinks it will continue to notjust the wrong direction is notjust the gop primary voters, the last pole i saw said 65% of americans registered voters believe that the country is in, moving in the wrong direction, the problem leads a bit further out than the republican primary voter base and that is something the biden administration has to try and address, address the legitimate concerns the american people have about
