were breaking geordie hearts, sending newcastle to the bottom of the group and out of europe altogether. well over in germany the game mentioned, but the game all newcastle and milan fans were also keeping an eye on was that tie between borussia dortmund and psg. it finished one all. dortmund's karim adeyemi opened the scoring for the germans before warren emery equalised. kylian mbappe did have a goal ruled out by var with 15 minutes left, but it didn't really matter. as you can see psg, psg rather doing just about enough to squeeze in front of ac milan, who leapfrog newcastle to seal the europa league spot while eddie howe*s newcastle, well, we've said, are out of europe altogether. now manchester city keep on trucking theirjuggernaut. itjust goes on and on. pep guardiola's side have become just the second english team to win all of their champions league group games after beating red star belgrade three two in a much changed city line up 20—year—olds. micah hamilton had a dream debut by opening the scoring for the european champions injust the 19th minute in belgrade. fellow 20—year—old oscar bobb made it to just after the hour mark. kalvin phillips onjust his second to just after the hour mark. kalvin phillips onjust his second start of the season, scoring city's third from the penalty spot. what a goal and what the game. so happy for him. so he's training quite often with us and we saw his skills up front and when i get one and i make a fantastic goal and a penalty and when he could not make one against one, he gave extra passes defensively was aggressive. yeah. congratulations for all academies over the last years, how many players came up elsewhere over the last years, how many players came up. elsewhere in the champions league on wednesday? group e, group h devoid ofjeopardy. but porto beat shakhtar, donetsk and an eight goals for second spot in group f behind barcelona, who lost away to royal antwerp and atletico finish the group stage unbeaten. worth noting that celtic*s first champions league win in 16 matches and it was also theirfirst home win in ten years in the competition. so here are the 16 teams that will be involved in the knockout stages of the champions league. the draw will take place on monday. it is worth saying it's the first time in ten years there has only been two english sides left at this stage. two goalfrom greg norman says there will be more big name players wanting to join live golf following john rahm's decision to join the saudi funded tournament is its chief executive and helped convince the masters champion to make the move where he's reportedly set to earn upwards of 560 million usd. havejohn onboard is was critically important to our next steps into the future about what we want to do. and it'll create a domino effect. there'll be more apples falling from the tree, no question about it, because live continues to grow and develop. and we've only played 22 events around the world in a very, very short period of time sincejohn signed, what, less than a week ago. now i know my phone is blowing up. i know we've probably have eight to 12 players who are very, very keen to sit down and talk to us about coming on board. so, you know, time will tell. we're pretty much subscribed. we have we were in abu dhabi last week during our promotion series, and we've got three young kids, one from japan, one from finland and from zimbabwe. so you just think about the three of the opportunities we've given to those three individual guys to come and play on live league. so right now, our roster is getting very close to being filled and maybe within two, maybe three. so out of that eight to 12 players that are knocking on our door now, we only need two or three of them. well, after a year of unprecedented success, formula one's red bull team celebrated a homecoming on wednesday as world champion max verstappen, and those who helped him win a third straight title returned to their base in the uk. and milton keynes, james burrage was there for us. they want a slightly slower form of transport, no cockpit exposed to the elements, but still a special homecoming for red bull and their drivers, world champion max verstappen and sergio perez. this year has been extraordinary, 2i out of 22 races, one for their boss team principal christian horner, a sixth constructors title. and this has been the best yet. i doubt it will be repeated in my lifetime. it's taken since 1988 to beat mclaren*s record of ten victories in a row. as a team, we achieved 15 this year, and with such strong opposition as well, such strong teams and stable regulations, i'm sure next year is going to be a lot closer, a lot tighter, and it's going to be a different kind of challenge. horner has been running the show here for almost 20 years, and this site in tilbrook, milton keynes, has been dramatically transformed. it now boasts 2000 staff and by 2026 they'll be building their own engines here on site. the investment has been made here in the uk, here in milton keynes has been phenomenal and now of course with the engine business as well, it's a true campus. and to see both drivers come back after such a successful year, you could see what it meant to the staff that have all worked so hard to provide them with the amazing cars that they've driven this year. when you come into reception here, you are blown away by the sheer size and scale of the trophy cabinet. when they first started winning in formula one, what, ten years or so ago, it was only on that side. well, now look at it. what is the secret behind the success of fast cars? what is the secret behind the success? fast cars, good - drivers, good people. that's it. as simple as that. it is. it's a people sport. take people out of this| place and the machines don't make anything. no composite - laminating is created. no drawings are produced. no research is conducted. so you put the people . in and they gel together and we produce a car, and then we're tested against some - of the biggest names in motorsport. - the arb 19, the latest and fastest in the business to be produced here. and after 22 races. time for a well—earned break. james burridge, bbc news. milton keynes. finally, great britain's most successful female 0lympian, laura kenny, says an athlete's lifestyle can lead to struggles in getting pregnant. she and husband jason have been speaking to the bbc*s rachel bowden about the difficulties that lauren and others have faced, as well as the pressure she feels to qualify for what be a fourth olympics in paris. the nice grand picture that everyone wants to paint is nor is going for the olympics. and when i read it, i sort of did read it a bit terrified. i was like, oh my god, i hope people don't expect me to actually make it to paris because obviously it is such an ask. for me, it's always been to race again. i just want to race again. everyone, i'm sure will invest in the kind of fairy tale, but actually it's not to do with everyone else. it's just to do with you and how you feel. and i think i realized that when we lost, when we had the miscarriage in the topic, i knew deep down that it would be one hell of a comeback to come back. 0bviously, like obviously delaying it because ijust still wanted to have another baby and i knew that time would be short before the next 0lympics. and it wasn't about this big fairy tale. it was about what my heart so desperately wanted. and it was to have him like, i just want it another one. like, it consumed me, didn't it? really, for a long time. there's never a dull moment in our house and obviously. with the job as well, which is full- time, although it doesn't i have the physical demands of being an athlete, has the sort - of the time. it's longer timei because i've got obviously got to get - there before training starts. so i can't leave till it - finishes after it finishes. so, there's not enough hours in| the day sometimes with the two kids and obviously we have a few - animals and stuff at home as well. | so we're like, yeah, it's flat out - every day, - but i really enjoy it. i think we're really lucky to l have the lifestyle that we do. do you find other sportswomen come to you and talk about things like having a family, how to manage it, getting pregnant? because when you're competing at elite level, you put your body through so much. it's not always the easiest environment, is it, to get pregnant? there are females that have struggled and will struggle to get pregnant because of the lifestyle of being an athlete. like because we've all heard of read, i read. red sb and obviously females losing their periods, well, you're not going to be able to fall pregnant if you haven't got a period. that's a major issue, isn't it? i reds is actually really dangerous. like also you don't have a period and these females are giving up lots of things that really deep down that they want. like there are so many athletes that i hear saying, oh, they want to start a family well, if you don't have a period. you can't start a family. and it's actually a really unhealthy way of training as well. and that's sadly all the time we've got left for now from me, marc edwards and the rest of the team here at the bbc sport centre. we'll see you very soon. bye bye. hello there. given all the rain that we've had over the past few weeks, it's still pretty wet out there. but the next few days at least will turn drier and also the temperatures will be rising. now, this area of low pressure brought cloud and some rain and drizzle to eastern parts of england. that's moving away. the next weather system is coming in from the atlantic. but in between the two, well, we did have some sunshine earlier on, particularly in northern ireland and here in scotland. but where we have the clearer skies in the first part of the night, there's the risk that temperatures could fall just below freezing in places. but that window of clearer skies will close as the night goes on because all that cloud will come in from the atlantic. it's going to bring some rain and briefly some snow over the scottish mountains, perhaps the northern pennines, but it should turn back to rain later on in the night as temperatures start to rise. so these are the numbers by first thing thursday morning. and by this time, the rain will have cleared away from northern ireland and just about the whole of scotland. but we will see some further patchy, mostly light rain and drizzle affecting england and wales, and that cloudy, damp weather could continue across the south—east well into the afternoon, but otherwise we'll get some sunshine following on behind, a few showers for northern ireland and scotland, mostly in the north of scotland, where it's still quite blustery. but if anything, temperatures are going to be a degree or two higher than what we had today. as one weather system moves away, we look to see another one coming in from the atlantic as we move into friday. this is going to be focused more to the north—west of the uk. we'll see more cloud coming into northern ireland and also in scotland, showers in the north of the country being replaced by some rain and drizzle. elsewhere, it should be dry and a lot more sunshine more widely across england and wales, where the winds will be lighter. still, temperatures 7—8 celsius across eastern parts of england, but further west, it is much, much milder. and this milder atlantic air and some brisk winds will come rushing in across the whole of the country in time for the start of the weekend. we've got colder air to the north of that weather front, which may move southwards on sunday to bring some patchy rain. but on saturday, it's staying to the north of us, just bringing the chance of some rain in the north of scotland. again, it looks like it's going to be windy here and across northern ireland. the winds are lighter as you head further south, but there won't be as much sunshine for england and wales on saturday. but it is mild air and those temperatures will be widely12—13 celsius. you're with newsday, live from singapore. the headlines: the republican—controlled house of representatives have voted to formalise an impeachment inquiry into president biden. prime minister benjamin netanyahu warns nothing will stop israel from continuing its war in gaza, until it achieves victory against hamas. diplomatic pressure for a ceasefire is intensifying. it is so decided. a landmark deal at cop28 — the global climate summit ends with an agreement that for the first time — calls on all countries to transition away from coal, oil and gas. lovers of the movie et may want to "phone home" — as one of the biggest ever auctions of film props is about to take place. will begin in the us where the republican led house of representatives has voted to launch a vote —— formal impeachment inquiry into residentjoe biden. the resident joe biden. the resolution _ resident joe biden. the resolution is _ resident joe biden. the resolution is adopted. i republican lawmakers are accusing the president of bribery and corruption — president he knew of, and benefited from, the business dealings of his son, hunter biden.
