It said its treating several people. About 50 others were assessed at the scene. Police were called to the m53 motorway in the wirral near liverpool just after eight oclock, when the incident happened. The road has been closed ever since. Chief superintendent Graeme Robson confirmed that a girl and the driver were killed. Emergency services were called to report of an overturned bus on the m53 Atjust After8am this morning. We can confirm that the bus was a school bus taking pupils to west kirby and calder Grammar Schools on the will. We understand there were 5a people, including the driver on the bus and sadly i can confirm that the driver and a 14 year old Schoolgirl Have died. Two children were taken from the scene to alder hey childrens hospital. 50 of the children were taken to an Emergency Training centre where they were medically assessed. And eight of those children have been taken to the Countess Of Chester and arrowe Park Hospitals. Our thoughts and condolences are very much with their families and friends at this tragic time. Family Liaison Officers are providing specialist support to both families and we are working with the schools Wiltshire Council wirral council, and Cheshire West Council to ensure the necessary Trauma Support is in place for the children on the bus. We also know that other children from both schools were on buses travelling in convoy with the bus involved in the incident and they witnessed the incident and they too will be provided with specialist Trauma Support. The motorway is expected to be closed for a number of hours whilst investigative work is carried out and we would like to thank motorists for their patience while the investigation is ongoing. Diversions are in place and we encourage people, where possible, to take alternative routes. I would also like to remind people that there is an investigation ongoing and would ask people to refrain from posting anything on social media that could hamper the investigation and not to speculate. Our north of england correspondent nick garnett reports on how the hospitals are dealing with the incident. Two children are being treated here at the hospital. They have serious injuries. They are the only ones that were brought here, after the paramedics arrived at the scene. And a number of other children are being taken to other hospitals which are closer to where the accident happened. We are probably about 11 12 miles away, about 16 17 kilometres away from where the crash happened and we are on the other side of the river mersey so the two children who were brought here, their families are here, as well, and they are being helped and looked after by staff at the hospital. But the others that were injured have been taken to two hospitals. Arrowe Park Hospital in wirral, which is very close to where it actually happened and the Countess Of Chester hospital, which is obviously in chester, which is probably about ten miles, 14 kilometres away from where the crash happened, as well. The staff here at the hospital say they are not expecting anybody else to come. They have been able to deal with the operation and the incident fully. They are not calling in any more staff because they have been able to cope with it. Things have gone exactly as planned. They put their major operation into plan and it has worked perfectly, they say. Live now to labour mp for wirral west, margaret greenwood. Those Emergency Operations and contingencies were sparked, and all of them coming into play. At the moment, what we know is that in hangu, which is a district in khyber pakhtunkhwa, the Rescue Workers have completed the operation and people have been taken out of the rubble and also there are four dead in that incident, as well. In balochistan what we know so far is that the police say that they think this is a Suicide Attack. They have called it a Suicide Attack, especially the police chief of balochistan. They confirmed it to bbc, as well. So now what the reporters and the police are thinking right is that the bigger question is whether this was initiated by the taliban or whether this was actually some other group, the latest on the ground in pakistan. Her greatest achievements are many and they spanned decades but we will start with the Assault Weapon Ban that nobody else has been able to accomplish since the senator. She worked on the Violence Against Women Act and on equality issues for gay and transgender rights. She became very involved in the Foreign Affairs committee and held the cia accountable so, at every turn, at every moment, she had to step up, she did. She stepped into that power, and in some way she was fearless when other politicians would back down.
