This was confirmed by the police chief in balochistan who said that this was a suicide attack, which targeted the congregation, which was celebrating the birth of prophet muhammad. In another incident in hangu, which is a district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, two Suicide Attackers basically tried getting into a mosque. One was stopped by the police. The other one still made it through and four people died as a result of that. So these two attacks happened today and more than 50 people are dead so far. I also was told that the Pakistani Taliban have said that they have nothing to do with this attack at all, and they have condemned both the incidents which have happened in mastung in balochistan and hangu in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province as well. So now the bigger question is who attacked these two places and what was their motivation . Is the finger of blame then, if it was not the Pakistani Taliban being pointed at daesh, at Islamic State . Yes, in an earlier attack, which was also in Mastung District as well, Islamic State had claimed responsibility at that point of time, but so far they showed suspicion that it was Pakistani Taliban. But after Pakistani Talibans statement, the police has also not said anything on which group it actually feels is behind this attack as well. And are there real concerns now with the election being pushed back to next year, political instability in the country, with the fact that brazenly theyve attacked worshippers on a day that has so much meaning for people . That things like this could continue, that there could be further attacks in the coming weeks .
