which named mr prigozhin. the mercenary leader had led an aborted mutiny against the russian military injune amid growing tension with commanders over the war in ukraine. he had since relocated to belarus. in a statement released on the telegram channel, the spokeswoman of russia's investigative committee, svetlana petrenko, said genetic tests had established the identities of all those on board. translation: as part - of the investigation of the plane crash in the tver region, molecular genetic examinations have been completed according to their results. the identities of all ten dead were established. they correspond to the list stated in the flight sheet. well, the exact circumstances behind the plane crash remain unclear. our russia editor steve rosenberg has the latest from moscow. we still don't know the cause of the crash. there's been so much speculation in recent days. was this a missile attack, a bomb on board? was this some kind of other sabotage? we don't know. the kremlin has said, "this is nothing to do with us, we weren't behind this." that denial though has not removed the widespread suspicion that mr prigozhin, the wagner chief, was targeted by russian authorities as an act of revenge for the mutiny which he organised back injune, and which was an unprecedented challenge to the kremlin. interesting, this statement that came out from russian investigators today, a very brief statement, just three sentences — mr prigozhin was not mentioned by name, but the implication of what was written was pretty clear, that, as far as the russian authorities are concerned, mr prigozhin is dead. meanwhile, one of ukraine's most celebrated fighter pilots, and two other airmen, have been killed in a mid—air crash. captain andrii pilshchykov won fame taking part in close range aerial battles over kyiv during the early phase of russia's invasion, flying under the call—sign "juice." the three pilots were killed when two l—39 combat training aircraft collided over a region west of kyiv. the ukrainian military called the deaths "painful and irreparable" losses. and the military paid tribute to him as a young officer with "mega knowledge and mega talent". in an address, president volodymyr zelensky acknowledged how much pilshchykov had done for the country. translation: an investigation is being carried out _ into what happened, and of course, all circumstances will be clarified. ukraine will never forget everyone who defended the free skies of our country. well, last year, andrii pilshchykov spoke to the bbc about the work he and his fellow pilolts were doing, especially the difficulty of shooting down russian cruise missiles. let's listen to some of what he said. intercepting the cruise missiles, your mission is to save the lives on the ground, to save the city. you're not able — it's a terrible feeling that somebody will die. somebody will die in minutes, and you didn't prevent that. after school, i entered into the air force university. it was a dream from childhood, from the age of five. it's myjob, it's my mission. face—to—face air battle, air engagement, ourjets have almost no chances to win. we were pushing them away, because they were forced to avoid us, and we were trying to get russianjets in the bubbles of our air defence, and they shooted them down. but russians are improving their tactics, and we need something more advanced than ourjets, for air defence, for interception of cruise missiles. illia ponomarenko is a ukrainianjournalist in kyiv, and explained how important captain andrii pilshchykov had been to ukraine's military effort. it's a painful loss also because andii was a symbol. he was a very symbolic person, a very intelligent person, a very bright one. a frontman of the air force, and without even revealing his face to the public in the media. he was a young pilot, handsome guy, a playboy, the one with a top gun—style instagram, very colourful person, ver proud, very willing to argue with command, active on social media, never hesitating to blast journalists. —— very proud. so he was all about action, attitude and, like i said, even without revealing his face, he was super active in terms of pushing for this narrative of the ukrainian air force from his own initiative, speaking english with english—language media outlets, and also, being the face of an iconic image of a ukrainian pilot in ukraine, which is one of the most iconic things that there is in ukraine in the war, the surprising skill and bravery of the air force which is something that is very important for the ukrainians right now. so he was a face without even revealing his face, even though we knew him by his face. but his voice mostly, and his image was iconic and symbolic. and the timing is particularly unfortunate because he was very keen on the idea of flying f—16s, this is an important moment for the air force of ukraine? yes, it's been more than a year that many ukrainian pilots and journalists, and in general ukrainian leadership started this campaign to persuade the west to provide ukraine with f—16s. and it happened, andii lived to see the west finally taking that decision. but unfortunately, he will never see his dream come true, in terms of being one of the f—16 pilots. he was really dreaming about this, and in many ways, what's happened the other day with the f—16 decision was one part of his legacy, because like i said, he was the top guy in terms of pushing for this idea. that's why he had a lot of interviews in the west, he made trips overseas. so yes, one of the legacies of his life and this war is this decision of f—16s. and one of the latest things that comes in the air force community, among insiders, is that many people in the community suggest that one of the first, or maybe the first f—16 machine coming to ukraine be named afterandii, "juice" to honour his legacy. two people have died and nearly 60 have been injured after two explosions at an unlicensed liquefied petroleum gas station in romania. take a look at this. dozens of those wounded were firefighters who'd rushed to the scene after the initial blast, in the town of crevedia near bucharest late on saturday. shortly afterwards, a second explosion triggered by the massive blaze created a vast fireball. some of those injured suffered severe burns. people living nearby were evacuated from their homes. an investigation into what caused the initial explosion has been launched. london's metropolitan police say they're angry and concerned, after a suspected data breach at one of the force's it suppliers. names, ranks, photos and vetting levels, of potentially thousands of officers and staff, may have been hacked. a spokesperson for the met says the breach has been reported to the national crime agency. here's joe inwood. from protecting parliament to policing protests, met officers do some of the most difficult and sensitive jobs in any force. and so the news that some of their data could have been compromised has been met with fury by the police federation. their vice chair saying... and, according to a senior former officer, some will be more vulnerable than others. if you are, for example, an ethnic minority officer with an unusual name, working in counter—terrorism, or working undercover, or perhaps working against organised gangs, you potentially could be more easily identified. now exactly how this happened is still being established, but the met say there was a data breach at a third party supplier that had access to information like names, photos and security clearance, but not police contact information. the force says extra security measures have now been put in place. it comes just weeks after a series of data leaks at other forces, including one at the police service of northern ireland, which saw the details of all staff accidentally published. those were human error. this seems to be a targeted attack on a third party it company thought to be contracted by the met to make warrant cards. it's similar to the situation british airways, boots, and the bbc found themselves in when their payroll provider was hacked. in the event of the hack, clearly there's been weaknesses and vulnerabilities of the system, whoever is managing and maintaining it, if we are indeed going off the outsourcing. so it's all good and well protecting the front end, but it's got to be the back end as well. the ones who are behind the scenes, if you like, in this instance an it company. the met police say the incident has been reported to the national crime agency and the information commissioner. there are many unanswered questions about this latest attack. who was behind it? how many officers are affected? and what might the loss of this highly sensitive data mean for their security? joe inwood, bbc news. jake moore is a global cybersecurity adviser at the software firm eset, and he gave his reaction to the suspected data breach. well, i think this is yet another worrying and damaging blunder by the organisation that's designed to protect us. and i think, like we've been discussing, it's a supply—chain attack and criminals have simply located that weakest link in that chain, which they're very good and getting better at doing. but police suppliers, they win their contracts and often choose the cheapest, which can potentially come with security risks and failures if that's not in the programme to start off with. right, but would it not be the response ability of the metropolitan police to check the security standards of any third parties? —— responsibility. it would be, but sometimes it's a race to the finish on these tenders that go out to, say, ten suppliers at once, it will come down to just a few. but often it's the cheapest that mightjust get through, and sometimes they have time restraints on how quickly they can do it. and unfortunately, it's those issues that allow these mistakes to occur. the next question of course is, what's the motivation of a hacker in using this data? well, it's unclear whether the hackers have demanded a ransom, or whether this was purely a criminal group testing the force's security. like we've seen, a few police forces come under a few problems recently, that doesn't mean to say it's one criminal group that's conducting this, it could just be others just testing that security. but i think what we've really got a take from that is, rather than what's happening, it's going forward we need to be setting some sort of review and looking at how we can test and check how this data is stored and handled in the future. but because of the implications of the release of names of police officers, it's extremely serious? yes, it's really dangerous. police officers, most of them apart from neighbourhood police officers want to remain anonymous, and so they should be. so you'd hope their data was protected. but unfortunately, police data is held in multiple locations, particularly in mergers — when you merge 2—3 police forces together, they can sometimes lose track of where that data is. and it's those types of weaknesses that criminals are very good at locating. and once they can exploit that, that's why a data leak like this occurs. in zimbabwe, the country's opposition leader, nelson chamisa, has claimed victory after challenging the results of the election. on saturday, zimbabwe's president, emmerson mnangagwa, said he had won enough votes to secure a second term. mr chamisa's party, citizens coalition for change, claims there's been widespread vote—rigging, and international observers say the election has fallen short of democratic standards. we have won this election, we are in the lead. we're even surprised why mr mnangagwa has been declared the leader, because he's not. police have been giving more information after three people were killed in the us state of florida, in what authorities are calling a racially—motivated mass shooting. the attack took place in the city of jacksonville, at a dollar general store. the city's sheriff says the suspected attacker was a white male in his 20s who turned the gun on himself. he killed two women and one man — who were all black — with no other injuries reported. the gunman also authored several manifestos for media detailing his hatred of black people. the shooter was 21 years of age when he committed yesterday's atrocities. he lived with his parents in orange park, in clay county, florida. to our knowledge, he had no previous arrest history. he did have a baker act petition for 2017. this petition, it appears the shooter was held for 72 hours then released without further involuntary commitment. the sheriff speaking in the wake of that shooting. britain's former culture secretary, nadine dorries, has resigned, with a blistering attack on the prime minister. she told rishi sunak, "history will notjudge you kindly". this is a big deal in the uk, because it puts mr sunak under pressure as her comments have been seized on by the opposition parties — labour and the liberal democrats — who both say they are confident of winning ms dorries' mid bedfordshire seat in a by—election. our political correspondent helen catt reports. more than two months after she said she would resign with immediate effect, nadine dorries has now started the process of formally quitting as an mp, but she's not going quietly. she's accused rishi sunak of abandoning borisjohnson*s election—winning manifesto, and of helping to whip up a public frenzy against her. in a letter, she told him... she's entitled to that view, but i think people are kind of tired of raking over the coals of borisjohnson*s government. we need to get on and govern this country properly, and make people feel that progress before the next election. at the bowls club, in flitwick, in mid bedfordshire, players had their own views on their mp's departure. it was expected. it's been in the cards. people have discussed that quite often now, that they weren't very impressed by her, or pleased. i respect her loyalty to boris, because i think it was a hatchet job on him, and a certain man who's in government now was one of the culprits behind it. and ijust feel that they should forget about that and just get on with what's best for the country. about time. we haven't had any involvement, and no—one's come knocking - on my door from any of the parties. we've had lots of leaflets, but no information at all, i and she should have gone before. campaigning began weeks ago. nadine dorries last won here by nearly 25,000 votes, but opposition parties sense an opportunity. injuly, labour overturned a similarly large tory majority to win selby and ainsty. its party chair was out in flitwick today, aiming for a repeat. from my conversations that i've had with people, they can see that labour with keir starmer offering something very, very different. we're absolutely determined to change our country for the better. the lib dems argue they're best placed after explosive wins in places like summerton and frome. this is a seat, a rural blue wall seat, the sorts of seats that liberal democrats have been winning. and if you look at recent byelections in this type of seat, we've won from third place. while the tories will hope that, as in borisjohnson*s old seat of uxbridge and south ruislip, they can hold on. the exit of mid bedfordshire's mp has been dramatic and noisy. choosing her replacement might be no more peaceful. helen catt, bbc news. let's turn to iran now — where state media say a well—known pop singer will face legal action, after releasing a music video encouraging women not to wear headscarves. mehdi yarrahi's video for "roosarito" — or "your headscarf" — expresses solidarity with the protest movement that erupted following the death in custody of mahsa amini. she'd been arrested for not wearing a headscarf. dr sanam vakil, director of the middle east and north africa programme at the international affairs think tank chatham house, has explained why this song is so inflamatory. the song is seen to be very provocative, really, coming a year after protests in iran that have been driven by all segments of society, but you've seen women under the banner of life, women and freedom take off their headscarves — and this has been very challenging for the iranian government. and we've witnessed huge protests, but we've also seen massive repression, so the government is taking a very heavy hand in advance of the anniversary of the protests that were sparked by a young woman's death named mahsa amini. you've mentioned these protests and they've been going on for a year — to what extent is there momentum at the moment? well, they have certainly waxed and waned, and the protests did indeed begin to die down around february this year, february and march, and that's because the government has been hugely repressive, there were massive arrests, over 500 people died during the protests, and many people have been sentenced to death and executed since the protests. and this is really signalling that the islamic republic has no intention of compromise or change, or trying to appeal to its very divided population. and in advance the september anniversary of mahsa amini's death, but then, also of all the other young people who also died in the protests, the government is pushing back. can a place be too popular? the people of one austrian town certainly think so. their home in the mountains is believed to be the real—life inspiration behind the disney film frozen. it's known for its pretty views and glacial trails, but its also known for mass tourism. the world heritage site has just over 700 inhabitants, but gets up to an estimated 10,000 visitors a day during high season. and now some locals have had enough, and want the tourists to "let it go". they've been protesting against mass tourism by holding a sit—in inside the mountain tunnel that leads to the town. they're calling for limits on the number of day—trippers visiting their town. and one of those residents is andrea europe's biggest street party and two million people are exepcted to join in to celebrate caribbean culture in the uk. we will be seeing i think a clip from sadiq khan, who's been saying how successful the carnival has been. that's it from me, this is bbc news. hello there. part two of the weekend is looking pretty similar to how it was yesterday — sunshine and showers, but i don't think the showers will be quite as heavy, or certainly not quite as widespread as what we had yesterday. but again, eastern parts of the uk will see some of the heaviest of the thunderstorms and showers today, whereas further west we've got this weather front bringing light and patchy rain to northern ireland in between some good spells of sunshine. so for the rest of the day, it will stay rather cloudy with outbreaks of rain across northern ireland, skies brightening up from the west later. western scotland, western parts of britain seeing some sunshine. most of the heavy showers will be affecting eastern scotland and eastern parts of england, again, some torrential downpours in a few places. and top temperatures 21—22 celsius here, high teens further north and west. so for the reading and leeds festival today, i think the better chance of staying dry will be across reading. for the leeds festival, i think you could pick up a few showers, which could be on the heavy side. same too for notting hill carnival. i think today is a greater risk of seeing showers, and what we'll see tomorrow, i think it could stay largely dry with good sunny spells. now, as we move through this evening, overnight, the showers mostly fade away. that weather front, a weakening feature, spreads across central and eastern england. just a band of patchy cloud on it. and it will be quite a cool night to come again, particularly out of town under those clear skies, single digits likely for many of us. now for monday — and of course, monday is a bank holiday for most of us — it's looking like being a fairly good day, i think, quite a bit of sunshine around. into the afternoon, the shower clouds may bubble up. you could see the odd light shower here and there, but most places should stay dry. and top temperatures, 21 celsius, it's the high teens further north, and winds will be light, as well. as we move out on monday into tuesday, things change again. the low pressure starts to push into the north of the uk. that'll bring stronger winds, blustery showers certainly to scotland, some of these showers could be quite heavy. elsewhere, some good sunny spells, but this weather front will be spreading across england and wales, bringing a band of showers, but it will become confined to southern and eastern areas by the end of the day with quite a bit of sunshine, i think, developing behind it. top temperatures around 22 celsius. cooler than that, though, further north where it will be quite blustery. wednesday, at this stage, not too bad thanks to a ridge of high pressure, but then it turns more unsettled for thursday and friday. could be quite wet in places particularly across england and wales. this is bbc news. the headlines: russian officials say wagner
