the retailer target suggest it's the latest victim of the so—called "culture wars". the chain, which sells everything from homewares, to toys and and clothes, saw sales fall — in—store and online — second quarter were up 7% — beating expectations. the patform has been focussing on lower—priced products which seems to have attracted bargain—hungry shoppers amid an economic slowdown. the company passports, were arrested. more than $700 million us dollars of assets have been seized in what's being described as one of the biggest cases of its kind singapore has seen. 0ur asia business reporter, katie silver is following the story. those who were arrested aged between about 31 and 44 years of age and they were charged with money—laundering, forgery and arrest. forgery and resisting arrest. we also understand from the police here that about eight more people are wanted and that none of the people who were arrested were either singaporean citizens or permanent residents here. instead their passports were from everywhere, the likes for example of turkey, cyprus, cambodia, vanuatu, saint kitts and nevis, and the dominican republic. all also, it seems, had chinese passports. as you mentioned, these were simultaneous raids across the island. they included, for example, condos and residences including in some of the most sought—after neighbourhoods here in singapore. 94 different second floor, he then was found by police when he was hiding in a drain and he was actually taken to hospital to be treated for some of the injuries sustained in the jump. we have heard from singapore central bank which says it will be working with the banks or financial institutions here where the funds have gone and it would take firm action against any financial institutions whose money—laundering policies might not be up to scratch. but indeed it is very rare here in singapore. it has one of the lowest crime rates in the world and we have heard from police saying they are going to have zero tolerance going forward for any use of singapore as a safe haven. now here in the uk "clean air zones" have been hitting the headlines. there's been controversy over the ultra low emission zone — or ulez — in london, which is being expanded to the city's outer suburbs. clean air zones also operate in hundreds of highly polluted cities across europe. 0ur transport correspondent katy austin has been looking at how they've been working in other parts of england. signs like these have become a common sight. we'vejust entered birmingham's clean air zone. it's been in operation
