as we sort those technical problems out, let's turn to that case in new york. prince andrew has demanded a jury trial as he seeks to defend the civil sex case that has been brought by virginia giuffre, according to legal documents filed by his lawyer in new york. it was reported he might have to pay more than $5 million to his accuser to persuade her to settle, although mr giuffre has signalled before that she wanted to a proceed to a court trial. the duke has strenuously denied the allegations she is making. our correspondent nada tawfik is in new york. this is a formal response things of the fact that they say he threw ghislaine maxwell a birthday party in burnley in 2015. and so it really goes through as i say all of these allegations and so this is now a legal record of demand money and at the end she is heard to say yeah, i needed that. the jury saw cctv images of strickland buying whisky with doctorjenkins card at a garage just eight minutes later. they also saw an embrace betweenjason edwards and the girl and the two men came back together and they embraced before riding around cardiff city centre on a bicycle. strickland, edwards, and a teenage girl who was 16 but wednesday did bring a bit more blue sky and sunshine. this was the picture in pembrokeshire and that was because we had more of a breeze. it helped to break up all that cloud and things staying quite windy, in fact, at least through the first part of wednesday, but over the next few days, really, the rest of this week we're going to be seeing spells of sunshine, often fairly breezy, mainly dry towards the south, but there will be some rain in the forecast at times across northern parts of the uk. now this is how we start thursday. windy initially for northern scotland, particularly for orkney and caithness as well, some scattered showers in the far north—west. early cloud and a few spots of drizzly rain in the south, clearing away towards the south, just lingering through the channel isles, but the rest of us, a return to some sunshine. pretty mild, 12 or 13 degrees for many, but colder across the northern half of scotland. and as we move through thursday evening and overnight into friday, it's mainly dry, the wind is falling fairly light, so that's the recipe for some frostiness around, i think, temperatures in the countryside down to near freezing or even a little bit below and we're likely to see some pockets of fog around too, particularly for central and eastern parts of england, perhaps eastern scotland as well. high pressure holds on towards the south as we move through into friday, but we'll see weather fronts trying to move in from the north—west. so it's going to be turning wetter and windier initially for the west of scotland, perhaps some splashes of lighter rain for other western parts of the uk. for central and eastern england, you're likely to stay with some sunny spells and the dry weather continues on friday. temperatures somewhere between about 8 to perhaps 11 degrees or so, reasonably typical for this time of year. now heading on towards the weekend, then, friday night into saturday now. high pressure very much settled towards the south and we've got weather fronts again trying to move in from the north—west. so some wetter, windier weather on saturday, particularly for scotland and also for northern ireland. as that weather front pushes south across england and wales, it will tend to peter out, so not much rain around by the time that weather front reaches the south. sunny spells follow on and it will be mild. some of us up to about 14 degrees or so. turning colder for a time into sunday, as we've got a cold front that moves away towards the south, this area of low pressure approaches from the atlantic. now if you were watching yesterday, we were talking about uncertainty about how far north or south this area of low pressure is going to be. computer models now starting to agree that it will be generally found further north, so that means on sunday, probably the wettest and windiest of the weather will be across parts of scotland. a risk of some snow over the higher ground as well, perhaps northern ireland and north—west england seeing a bit of that wet and windy weather too. most likely that further south and east, you'll be staying dry, but it could be that that system is a little bit further south. it will eventually get out the way, petering out again as it moves its way further south and then clears off towards the east. so we've got a north—westerly airflow, now this is heading through into monday, so a colder day, i think, on monday with some sunshine and perhaps one or two showers, a little bit wintry over the higher ground for northern and for western parts of the uk. driest towards the east, but even in the sunshine, it's not going to feel particularly warm, with temperatures between 5 to perhaps 9 degrees on monday. so the first part of next week then — we've got high pressure sitting to the south—west, low pressure in the north—east and that means the north—westerly flow of air. so fairly chilly with a mix of sunny spells and a few scattered showers. through the second half of next week, that colder air that we will have initially in place tends to get cleared away and what we'll see is more of an atlantic influence and that so the
