due some of the statement that was released. it says the premier league, and newcastle united, have settled the dispute over the takeover of the club. following the completion of the owners and directors test, the club has been sold to the consortium with immediate effect. the legal dispute concerned which entities would own and all have the ability to control the club following the takeover, and this is the kebet i think. the premier league has now received legally binding assurances that the kingdom of saudi arabia will not control newcastle united football club. and if you remember, 0llie, this deal was agreed in april last year between mike ashley and the saudi arabian backed consortium, which has been spearheaded by the finance year amanda staveley, and also includes the ribbon brothers, who own property in newcastle and also newcastle united racecourse. but it all broke down last summer when the premier league effectively blocked the deal, because they had concerns, primarily that the state of saudi arabia effectively controlled the club. they are now happy that those are two separate entities and they have given the green light for the saudi public investment fund to provide 80% of the deal to allow this takeover, of the deal to allow this takeover, of the money for the deal to allow this takeover to go through and also there is another element to this as well, this resolution comes after saudi arabia settled an alleged piracy dispute with qatar and the qatar —based broadcaster bn sport to broadcast premier league football in the middle
