Turkey went on the Red List in may, meaning anyone travelling from there to the uk has to quarantine in a hotel. Since then, it has been a difficult summer here. But they are holding out hope it could change. We have just about survived, but it has been very, very challenging. At the moment, we are very, very quiet. To get the british market to go ahead at This stage would be great. It could take us through to The End of october. Maybe even into november. At the moment, it is very, very important. There are now 62 countries on the Red List, including pakistan and mexico. The government will announce changes to the list today. There are other moves ahead, too. The Travel Industry hopes that the Traffic Light System, where countries are currently divided into green, amber or red, will be simplified. And it wants the more expensive Pcr Tests that all travellers have to do when they arrive in the uk replaced by the cheaper lateral Flow Tests. It worries that the cost is putting off travellers. I think there is always that risk with Lateral Flow that you do not have the Gold Standard of pcr. I think the key is, at the moment, its looking at that risk reward scenario. We are seeing Infection Rates are high, but obviously we have got the vaccination through in the uk. And i think the government has got to balance that us getting back on with life. The government has previously argued that Pcr Tests are needed to keep an eye on variants of concern, and some say they are still needed. I would like to see Pcr Tests remain, because they have given us so much information already from the sequencing. So we know when delta was introduced, when the Delta Variant came in, that This virus was imported over 500 times. We would not have that information if we were not doing the Screening And Sequencing that is associated with that. The government has said its priority is to protect Public Health and the decisions on the Traffic Light System are informed by the latest Risk Assessment from Thejoint Biosecurity Centre. From Thejoint Biosecurity Centre and wider Public Health factors. A decision on what happens next with Test And Travel will be announced later today. The Prime Ministers new cabinet will meet for the first time later This morning, after the finaL Changes were made to his ministerial team. Our political Correspondent Nick eardleyjoins us from westminster. It is almost like the first day at school for some of the new ministers and i wonder how they will be judging the room, establishing authority in their briefs. You say first day at authority in their briefs. You say first day at School Authority in their briefs. You say first day at School But Authority in their briefs. You say first day at school but with authority in their briefs. You say | first day at school but with pretty big exams coming because there are some pretty big challenges for ministers who find themselves with new portfolios or in borisjohnson s top team around the big table for the first time. One Finger Lot at westminster are speculating on is we have had almost two stages of Boris Johnson as Prime Minister. We have brexit, the promise to get us out of the european union, then the pandemic, which meant a lot of the big stuff the Prime Minister said he wanted to do was parked. This cabinet is about delivery. It has some pretty big challenges to deliver potentially in a couple of years, before we fire the starting gun on another general election. If you take Levelling Up, the phrase we have heard so many times from the conservatives. It is still pretty ill defined. There are still a lot of Tory Mps going, we dont know what it is and we do not know how the Prime Minister will deliver it. Michael gove, the Cabinet Minister with responsibility for that has a pretty big challenge to explain that. The new education secretary nadhim zahawi. Has challenges after the impact of the pandemic on young people in schools, to get education back on track, and whether that involves more money and time for children in school. Big tasks for him. That is scratching the surface. The foreign Secretary Liz Truss has questions about how to define the idea of global britain, the Post Brexit Place in the world for the uk. You will see smiling faces in Downing Street This morning as the ministers turn up for their first cabinet meeting, but i suspect there is apprehension behind the smiles about how exactly they will deliver on what is a tight timescale. Sir clive sinclair, the british inventor who created one of the first Pocket Calculators and brought affordable Home Computers to the masses, has died at the age of 81. Largely self taught, he began Inventing Gadgets while he was still at school, and is widely known for his creation of the Ill Fated Sinclair C5 electric tricycle. Our Technology Correspondent Rory cellan jones reports. His Drive And Enthusiasm made him one of britains best known inventors. The whole business of invention is a non material thing. Its very hard to know why it gives such pleasure. Clive sinclairs fascination with gadgets started at school and, by his late teens, he was selling his own electronic kits by Mail Order and writing technical manuals. He then put a magnifying bubble over each digit to make it visible. An obsession with Miniaturisation Saw Him launch The Words fist slimline Pocket Calculator in 1972. Soon though, competition from cheaperjapanese versions forced sinclair to slash his prices. Then the failure of his next innovation, a digital watch, brought his company to its knees. Undaunted, he set up Sinclair Research and in 1980 launched a ground breaking personal computer, the zx 80. It sold for under £100. It was the Zx Spectrum with its Colour Display that was his biggest success, credited by some with launching the uks Computer And Video games industries. More money had been poured into his obsession with a new form of urban transport. The Sinclair C5, launched in the Freezing Winter of 1985, became something of a nationaljoke. And many critics complained it was unsafe on busy urban roads. You try some things sometimes they succeed you try some things and they succeed and sometimes they dont. And i dont look back on it and say to myself the cs was a Wildest Idea which failed because people jumped on it, i dont think thats true. I think it was not good enough to succeed, simple as that. Having run out of money, sinclairwas forced to sell his Computer Business to a Budding Entrepreneur called alan sugar. Undeterred, he continued his quest for a new kind of personal transport. But an electric bicycle, the zike, proved no more popular than the c5. It is as a brilliant inventor who gave millions their first introduction to computers that he will be remembered. It isa it is a fascinating look back. The things he was involved in. You forget because you just think of the c5. And you look at the computers and all the young people are like oh, is that how it started . It felt so revolutionary. And it is so normalised now, the idea of it being a new story around a little calculator seems extraordinary. I am not sure sarah would remember that. Good morning. Ijust about remember the c5 in the 805. A good morning. Iju5t about remember the c5 in the 805. A pretty iconic vehicle. Today we are looking at a largely dry and settle day in many parts. Not everywhere. A weather part5. Not everywhere. A Weather Front is moving in from the west so there will be some rain but for many, similar to yesterday with sunny spell5 many, similar to yesterday with sunny spells and temperatures doing well. This is where we have Rain Moving in across parts of Northern Ireland in Western Scotland. It will push into Western Fringes of england and wales in the afternoon. In much of central and Eastern England and Central Scotland you should stay dry for much of the day if not all. Temperatures doing pretty well. In the North West, 16 18 where you have the North West, 16 18 where you have the outbreaks of rain. This evening and overnight Cloud And Drizzle and rain slow moving across the borders and parts of england and wales. Clear and dry Weather Either Side of it but some misty patches around on saturday. Temperatures mild. Particularly in the South East. The weekend is a mix. Dry weather on saturday and temperatures up to 23 in the warmer spots. Rain in the North And West. By sunday, we could see rain becoming more widespread. Saturday the best day of the weekend for many. If you are a fan ofJames Bond you will know there is less than two weeks until the most eagerly anticipated film released in recent uk history. With Box Office takings down on Pre Pandemic levels there is lots of pressure on This film. Victoria is at a cinema in North London for us today. You have taken a seat. It looks like there is a trailer of a certain James Bond. Yes, a lot riding on This gentleman here and on his shoulders to save cinema, because it has been a tough time for the industry. He has a lot on his plate. Good morning. Iam in i am in North London at a cinema designed by George Cole is back in their heyday, the Golden Age of cinema. It was designed by George Coles The Man behind so many Art Deco 205 and 305 movie houses across the uk. I wonder if George Coles would be shocked by the Drama Unfolding when it comes to what has been going on in the world of cinema and movies because the pandemic has dealt a major blow to This industry. Even though the cinemas opened injuly, in the month since september, takings have been under £90 million across the country. And the biggest grossing film of that time free guy. Me neither, i have not heard of it. When you look at Pre Pandemic. Things were not great but the tills were ringing to the tune of £128 million. When you compare data from here and then and back before the pandemic, it is down. Down on 2019 and down on 2020. There are big holes to fill. The whole industry thinks they have lost £2 billion when it comes to the pandemic. A lot of money needs to be made up. Our people still going to the cinema . We caught up with people in trowbridge and asked what they were watching and asked what they were watching and what brought them into town. Pearl dean music. I have been back to the cinema. Two weeks ago, a friend of mine, we went on a date. It was very nice. We went to see the Suicide Squad second one. Which was really enjoyable. The film we all saw was candy man. And it was quite nice to see things slowly going back to normal. There were a few people, wasnt there . Yes, there were quite a lot of people. I have been back to the cinema. Yes, it was very enjoyable. It is very accessible. Because, obviously, i have physical limitations, so i am looking for places that are accessible to me. And i enjoyed the film. When things were closed, it was hard to imagine what it would be like. It was actually really nice and normal, going back and having that sense of normality. We are filmgoers but we havent been i back to cinema because of a, covid, i and b, we havent seen any films advertise that are of interest to us. That last comment is interesting. Were talking about everybody s Talking Aboutjamie on the Show Today but thats almost exclusively a Streaming Release on amazon prime. So there is a lot riding on no time to die, perhaps the most apt Movie Title for the industry right now. Lets speak to the Film Critic anna smith. Is it too late, the Bond Film . This will bring back people who have not been to cinema in a time. A large Age Range of people and James Bond is what people want to see on the Screen And Share with the crowd. If cinema goes, what replaces it as a cultural experience that anybody can go and do and what happens to these beautiful buildings across the uk . And it is a rite of passage. How many people have had their first kiss in a building like This . Studio i knew you would take it there, victoria. It has got everyone thinking about that. Lets Take A Look at todays papers. The issue of travel dominates the front pages This morning. The Daily Mail is reporting that Travel Testing rules are to be torn up for the fully vaccinated. According to the paper, The Double Jabbed will no longer have to take Pcr Tests when they return from abroad. That is ahead of an announcement we expect from the Transport Secretary today. The times says dozens of countries, including turkey, are to be removed from the Red List in time for the half term holidays next month. Away from travel. The telegraph leads on the Home Secretarys plea to police to take decisive action against climate change activists. It comes after a number of motorway protests that caused major Traffic Disruption This week. And one of the most read stories online is the death of the Computing Pioneer Sir clive sinclair, who has died at the age of 81. His daughter said he was still working on his inventions last week because that was what he loved doing. There is quite a bit written about sir clive sinclair. At The End of the Room Review we said he was still working on inventions. His determination was he was working on designs believing a flying car was technically entirely possible. That is where he was act. He had never given up on it. And was working on it to The End. And way back, famously, he made small calculators. They used to be huge, bigger than a laptop, and he made little calculators. Himself, apparently, he never used a calculator. He relied on a Slide Rule for calculations. He invented it but never used it. Quite confusing in themselves, Slide Rules. A very clever man. Despite the easing of coronavirus restrictions, some families in england say theyre still not being allowed to see Loved Ones living in Care Homes as often as theyd like. More than a quarter of A Million people have signed a petition calling on the government to do more, amid claims some homes arent following official guidance. Breakfast s Jayne Mccubbin has more. Its my escape from the Nursing Home. Drawn by archie, my grandson. A wheelchair here. And flames coming out. Archie wanted to bust you out . Yeah. Hes got quite a vivid imagination, i think. We first heard from Maggie Late Last year. Like so many, trapped in her Nursing Home, unable to have visitors. Lifes not worth living, really. That was when her grandson hatched the plan. There wasnt a ring of fire outside, but they came. Today, she lives with her Son Tom and his young family, who have spent thousands adapting their home. But she is campaigning for those she sees as being Left Behind in the pandemic. Yesterday, maggie helped deliver a 260,000 Name Petition to Downing Street, calling for Care Home residents to be allowed the same freedoms as the rest of society. There must be laws for people in Care Homes, who havent got anyone to speak up for them. Mum has been very lucky. We are privileged to have the space and the means to have busted mum out with the plan that archie hatched. I think there are thousands of people who dont. In leeds, 100 year old frances enjoys a Freedom Unthinkable A year ago. Afternoon tea in daughter lindas garden. But her own Care Home still feels farfrom a real home. Linda can visit me. My son comes from right across the country to see me. And he cant come In My Room at all. He stands in the Back Garden and shouts to me. Now, thats ridiculous. He has travelled two hours in a car to see me, and that is the reception he gets. Over 18 months, Window Visits turned into garden visits. There was a Mothers Day behind a screen. Ive got some news. And, at christmas. You are Coming Home at christmas. A calculated but much welcomed risk. Lifes not about the length of life, the quantity of life, it is about the quality of life. And lifes about risks. You cantjust stop living because of that. This was christmas for pat, in bristol. A virtual choir of Family Members who could not be at her Care Home in person. Today, her son tim can visit. But hes still more than happy to visit behind a screen. I much prefer to have my mother alive and kicking, rather than Risk Exposure to a disease that we know preys on the elderly. While i have every sympathy for those with elderly relatives, parents who want to be able to have that access, if they are living in a Nursing Home, its notjust them, its the wider Nursing Home community. Sadly, i dont think we will see normality for a good few years yet. The people who visit Care Homes, they are getting hit the hardest. No doubt about it. The government say they are doing all they can to facilitate safe visits, but the sector told us that with infections rising and Vaccine Efficacy declining, restrictions must remain. This is me going through to see joan. For brendan, that prolongs the pain of the last 16 months. This way, joan. Joan. This is what happens. His wifejoan has dementia. She doesnt like the only Visitors Room they are allowed access to. Shes off. I think that im more safe to the residents than some of the staff, because they are young people. They want to go out at weekends, they want to go dancing, they want to go to nightclubs and football matches and stuff. I dont go anywhere. Life may be returning to normal for many. Not the relatives and residents of Care Homes. Its now time to live with it, manage it. Thats what theyve got to do. As always our thanks to those who took part in the report, sharing. Difficult decisions being made on behalf of Care Homes themselves and the people caught up in that situation and how it works in practice. You can see frustration when they see other things happen with other people. We will follow that story. Find out what is happening where you are now. Good morning from Bbc London, im alison earle. But perhaps a little bit of rain around over the weekend. For today, it is dry and fine. We are starting off with temperatures in double figures. There is a bit of mist around its not terribly widespread. And where we do see it, it will lift and clear as we head through the morning. There will be some bright and sunny spells on and off throughout the day. A bit more cloud than many of us saw yesterday. It is also going to feel breezier. Temperatures a little lower, but still slightly above average, peaking around 21 22 degrees in the best of the sunshine. Overnight tonight, we will do the whole thing all over again. There will be clear spells around, missed developing perhaps into tomorrow morning, with overnight lows staying in double figures. And then over the course of the weekend, we have an area of low pressure sitting towards the south of us and that could spin as up a few showers at times on saturday. Also some bright and sunny spells. Temperatures peaking in the low 205 in the celsius. Sunday, maybe longer outbreaks of rain. And then High Pressure builds again into the start of next week. Its been a tough year, to say the least, but hes decided to talk publicly about his illness for the first time, and hes revealed the band is reforming for a special Charity Concert at the royal Albert Hall. Hes been speaking to our entertainment correspondent, colin paterson. Tom parker, welcome to Bbc Breakfast. This is your first interview you have given to a broadcaster since you were diagnosed with a Brain Tumour so just tell us, how are you . Feeling really well, actually. Its been a bit of a journey to say the least. So i was diagnosed about 11 months ago. So, yeah, itsjust been a crazy journey, to be honest with you. How is the treatment going . Yeah, its been going all right. I mean, dont get me wrong, Chemo And Radiation is very, very tough. I have a lot of empathy with anyone that goes through it. But we did it, we got through it. So, were here to tell the tale. Are you still having it, though . No, done now, completely, yeah. Done my six cycles, did 30 rounds of radiation. The body was crying out for help by The End, it was just really intense. I think its just the going up to guys every day, doing the treatment, being under the radiation masks, it wasjust, you know, dark days but were here to tell the tale. What got you through it . My kids, my wife, my fans. You know, theres a lot of love out there. And people are just beautiful. Because your second child, bodhi, was born so soon afterwards, about three months . Yeah. How was that . Chaos, to say the least. Its been. Its been emotionally difficult for me, because obviously with aurelia, i was very involved with her growing up as a toddler. Whereas because This left side has been a little bit stilted, ive not been able to be as involved with carrying and feeding, with baths. So thats been tough mentally. But im here and were doing it, and im present and thats all that counts, i think. Did you find some of your friends couldnt cope with it, certain people have drifted away . Yeah, do you know what, you do find that. People dont really like talking about it. To be honest, i didnt really, i dont really like talking about it because im all about the positive mindset. And its not that im ignoring cancer, but ijust dont want to pay it any attention. The more attention you pay it, the more it consumes your life and i dont want it to consume My Life. Ive got kids, ive got family. So ijust and ignore it as much as possible. And thats hard at times, you know, when you have stilted walking, you cant move my your arm, im like, come on, get moving. How easy do you find it to stay in the present . Its taken a bit of training to be honest, with you, but i feel like im in a really good space with it now. It took me so long to not be able to be affected by things i saw online. Every morning i would google or go on Twitter And Type in glioblastoma. And it would just, it would just drag my day down. And my mood down. Now that ive kind of put that to bed, im not as obsessed with it. Im just learning to live My Life a little bit more. And did you know how do you get up from an all time low This coming monday at the royal Albert Hall, you have organised a concert to raise money for cancer. You started getting names involved. Yeah, weve got sigrid, liam payne, which was a massive name. Well, they were the big rivals of the wanted, it used to be One Direction versus the wanted. Yeah, it was. And also a certain group called the wanted. Theyre getting back together and youre about to start rehearsals. We are. In the next few hours . Next few hours. Im pretty scared, to be honest, im a bit nervous about it. But, at the same time, very excited. You know, weve been together a little bit over the last few weeks and the chemistry is still the same. Ijust wish my mobility was a little better, but its fine, were there and were present, we doing it, were making a difference. After the diagnosis, how quickly were the guys from the wanted to get in Touch And Show support . I spoke to the boys and they all reached out individually. They were so kind. And during that time, you feel, its such a lonely time in your life where you feel like youve got nothing. You just feel like you want to curl up and die, to be quite honest with you. And, you know, the boys getting involved, that gave me that little bit of Hope And Inspiration to push on and do some good. My universe will never be the same im glad you came, im glad you came what message would you have for anyone who finds himself in your position . Just focus on every day. You know, none of us, any of us in This room dont know what tomorrow holds. And i think thats the one thing that ive taken from the situation. Live today like its your last. A Life Lesson for us all. It really is. And everything a Life Lesson for us all. It really is. And everything he a Life Lesson for us all. It really is. And everything he says a Life Lesson for us all. It really l is. And everything he says about a Life Lesson for us all. It really is. And everything he says about the way hes approaching the situation hes in, its so positive, he said, im here and im present. Very young family. All the best that concert. You can get tickets for Tom Parkers inside my Head Concert from the royal Albert Hall website. It is 24 it is 2a minutes to seven, good morning. Only one winnerfor yesterday, they are also inspired. Only one winner for the match Last Night with West Ham, and 2000 fans who went to croatia were rewarded. And they were rewarded, as West Ham, who looked very much at home on their European Travels again as they put in a brilliant performance in croatia in the europa league. They won 2 0 at dinamo zagreb, with goals coming from the in Form Michail Antonio and the second, a Dazzling Run and finish, from England Star Declan rice. If you discount qualifiers, its West Hams first win in europe This Century And Manager David Moyes was full of praise for his team including rice. Hes a terrific player, hes getting better. Hes shown it in his performances, tonight hes the captain of West Ham for the first time in europe in long time away from home. Scores a goal as well, which probably makes the game certainly much more comfortable. So from that point of view, we see a real development. We mustnt forget hes still 22 years old and a young boy with a big future. Leicester should have been celebrating a famous European Win against napoli at the king power stadium. They had led 2 0, but the italians scored twice in the second half, the equaliser coming in the 87th minute. That was a really good measure for us. I think people talked before the game, napoli arguably being the favourites for the competition with all the experience that they have and the quality, but we were very competitive tonight. And ok, were disappointed to lose the goals, but still, lots for us to be happy about and lots for us to go away and look at and analyse where we can be better. Celtic also let a Lead Slip in a thrilling match against Spanish Side real betis. Theres been lots of speculation about what minsters might decide, with some suggestion there will be a more simplified Traffic Light System. We can get more on This with the independent s travel editor, Simon Calder at newcastle airport. Good morning. There is a slightly curious position, we know there is an announcement later on and there is a lot of speculation about what it might be. In amongst the speculation, This idea that the green and amber countries could be amalgamated, that is the major change, explain that a little bit for us. , change, explain that a little bit for us. , for us. 0k, at the moment, the uk has notjust for us. 0k, at the moment, the uk has notjust the for us. 0k, at the moment, the uk has not just the highest for us. 0k, at the moment, the uk| has notjust the highest Coronavirus Infection Rate of any major country Infection Rate of any major country in europe, it also has the most complicated regime of travel restrictions. So when you come into the uk they are five traffic like categories ranging from ireland, which has always been super green with no Testing Or Quarantine to at the other extreme, 62 countries on the other extreme, 62 countries on the red List And Anyone coming in from there has to immediately go into 11 nights of Hotel Quarantine at a cost of £2285. In the middle you have amber, which covers the vast majority of our favourite countries, spain, france, italy and greece, and then you have got the green list and the green watchlist in between them. What the government is saying, we are going to make all that lot in the middle of the same which actually for those of us lucky enough to be fully vaccinated it means nothing wilL Change at all. But there is going to be some interesting developments around the Red List shrinking from those 62 nations, and also something on testing. It will very much be the case that if you have been jabbed, you will have a much easier time thanif you will have a much easier time than if you are unvaccinated. Please elaborate on than if you are unvaccinated. Please elaborate on that than if you are unvaccinated. Please elaborate on that a than if you are unvaccinated. Please elaborate on that a bit than if you are unvaccinated. Please elaborate on that a bit further, elaborate on that a bit further, because that is linked to those people who have been away, the test that you might have to take before coming back to the uk and then the subsequent tests when you get back from your holiday. Thats potentially what might change. Yes. Potentially what might change. Yes, at the moment, potentially what might change. Yes, at the moment, you potentially what might change. Is at the moment, you have to take a test to fly, and that puts quite a lot of people off because if you are out in spain and france or portugal or whatever and take a lateral Flow Test as you are allowed to and it turned out positive, guess what, youre not flying back to lovely newcastle, you are going to be in the care of the Health Authorities for a couple of weeks and you wont be getting back to Work Or School or wherever you have got to go. A lot of people are concerned about that. There also about the so called day two Pcr Tests that everybody coming in from any country, however well jabbed they are and however low the Infection Rate, has to take. That will take you 50 to £70, and you have to book it in advanced. What seems to have been leaked from government, we are working entirely on briefings, is that you are going to be able to swap that for a lateral Flow Test. Frankly, my lateralFlow Test. Frankly, my reaction was, big deal, i will save about 30 quid on the typical trip but it will still be a complete fat. What people are hoping for is that test to fly will be removed, at which point it might be the case that people feel a lot more comfortable about booking, particularly with half term coming up particularly with half term coming up in late october and people wanting to look forward to at christmas, new year, maybe even an Easter Ski Trip or a Summer Holiday in 2022. Its all about confidence and hoping that you can look forward to your holiday rather than fretting about all that the restrictions which currently exist or might be brought in. The which currently exist or might be brought in brought in. The government is treadina brought in. The government is treading a brought in. The government is treading a fine brought in. The government is treading a Fine Line brought in. The government is treading a Fine Line between. Brought in. The government is treading a Fine Line between trying to make sure they are not moving too quickly, and not taking sufficient precautions. Whilst at the same time, the pressure on them from the aviation industry, and the Tourism Industry more generally, has increased more and more, they are saying, why not relax things so we can get going . Can get going . Yes, thats the big cuestion. Can get going . Yes, thats The Big Question let can get going . Yes, thats The Big Question. Let me can get going . Yes, thats The Big Question. Let me talk can get going . Yes, thats The Big Question. Let me talk you can get going . Yes, thats The Big Question. Let me talk you through This year. We have had 19 weeks at the start to Mid May when nobody could go abroad for nonessential trips at all. Then for the last five months, five months ago today they said, you can go on holiday but if you dont go to a green country, in the olden days that basically meant iceland or gibraltar, for ten days it also meant portugal, then you have to quarantine. That got easier for jabbed have to quarantine. That got easier forjabbed people but it is still an absolute model. The Travel Industry will be delighted it is still an absolute muddle. The Travel Industry will be delighted today if This is changed, especially if the Red List is changed, it is rumoured that turkey will be taken off, and Pakistan And Bangladesh might be taken of, and perhaps south africa, which has been south which has been taken of, and perhaps south africa, which has been of limits for most of the year. We which has been of limits for most of the year of the year. We can make whatever rules we like of the year. We can make whatever rules we like but of the year. We can make whatever rules we like but the of the year. We can make whatever rules we like but the caveat of the year. We can make whatever rules we like but the caveat around | rules we like but the caveat around all of This is that we can have the green and amber, dispensed with effectively, but we still have to follow the rules of the countries you would go to. They might not like the Infection Rates here or what the situation here is, that remains a problem, doesnt it potentially . Certainly it does, before you think of going anywhere, you have to check that they will let you in. With the greatest of respect, they will not let any of us into america at the moment, no australia or New Zealand. But for all of the holiday favourites, france, spain, portugal, italy, croatia, greece, possibly even turkey, you are welcome and you will find that the Testing Regime if you have been fully vaccinated is an awful lot easier than it is coming back here to newcastle or anywhere in the uk. But that might change. We simply dont know when or how. Sunshine, but no ones sunbathing. In a normal year, 80 of the guests at This hotel in turkey would have been british. Turkey went on the Red List in may, meaning anyone travelling from there to the uk has to quarantine in a hotel. Since then, it has been a difficult summer here. The government has said its priority is to protect Public Health and the decisions on the Traffic Light System are informed by the latest Risk Assessment from Thejoint Biosecurity Centre and wider Public Health factors. A decision on what happens next with Test And Travel will be announced later today. The industry is hoping for something that will fill up the sunbeds. Sir clive sinclair, the british inventor who brought affordable Home Computers to the masses, and was widely known for his creation of the Ill Fated Sinclair C5 electric tricycle, has died at the age of 81. Largely self taught, he began Inventing Gadgets while he was still at school. An obsession with Miniaturisation Saw Him launch the worlds Fist Saw him launch the worlds first slimline Pocket Calculator in 1972. You try some things and they succeed and sometimes they dont. And i dont look back on it and say to myself the c5 was a Wildest Idea which failed because peoplejumped on it, i dont think thats true. I think it was not good enough to succeed, simple as that. Having run out of money, sinclair was forced to sell his Computer Business to a Budding Entrepreneur called alan sugar. Undeterred, he continued his quest for a new kind of personal transport. But an electric bicycle, the zike, proved no more popular than the c5. It is as a brilliant inventor who gave millions their first introduction to computers that he will be remembered. He was responsible for so many things. Fascinating, when you stop and go through. Those little calculators. Pocket calculators, pocket tv. He never stopped working. He never stopped thinking and inventing. A mind that did not stop. Brilliant. Heres sarah with a look at This mornings weather. Good morning. A beautiful start for many. Some Mist And Fog patches around, but This is sunrise taken by around, but This is sunrise taken by a weather watcher. Some blue skies, sunshine around. It will cloud over from the west for sum with a Weather Front moving in that will bring rain particularly in Northern Ireland and scotland. For many, remaining mostly dry with sunshine. Central and Eastern England, you should be dry through the day. Eastern scotland dry a good part of the day and with southerly winds here it will feel warm with temperatures above average. Wet weather will affect western parts of scotland in particular, into parts of west wales, South West england. Something brighter in Northern Ireland in the afternoon and into the evening. Overnight, we will keep Cloud Producing Drizzle and rain. Either side, dry weather. Still mild in the South And East. Some Mist And Fog patches possible once again and turning cooler from the patches possible once again and turning coolerfrom the north patches possible once again and turning cooler from the North And West as we head into saturday morning. The weekend looking mixed. Dry weather on the cards on saturday. 23 in the South East but rain lurking in the west and we are likely to see that becoming more widespread and perhaps thunderstorms into sunday for many. The liberal Democrat Autumn Conference gets under Way Today and the event will once again be a virtual Affair Due to the pandemic. It comes as the party tries to build on the success of its Chesham And Amersham by Election Victory over the conservatives injune. Sir Ed Davey is the party leader, and joins us now. Good morning. We will go strong on education and uncaring and carers and strong on business and the economy. Good slogans, do they mean . Parents have got more involved in education during the pandemic and we want to build on that by giving them more support and empowering them and On Carers, we feel they have been let down in the social Care Reform Package brought forward by Boris Johnson. What is happening with the government is we are seeing a rise in national insurance and in the Lib Dems manifesto from 2019, there was proposed a 1p Rise on additional rates of income tax. In terms of what would have been raised what is different from what was in your manifesto and what the government has done . We are raising similar mounts and earlier. Liberal democrats had in the Manifesto Commitment to invest in the Health Service and Mental Health and Social Care. The government did not, said it would not raise national insurance. The conservatives have broken election promise. He conservatives have broken election romise. ,. ,. , conservatives have broken election romise. ,. , , promise. He has done that because we have been in promise. He has done that because we have been in a promise. He has done that because we have been in a pandemic promise. He has done that because we have been in a pandemic and promise. He has done that because we have been in a pandemic and you have been in a pandemic and you could say at least now there is being money raised for Social Care. It needed to be raised in a Fair Way and the way the conservatives have done it will hit lower paid and younger and middle aged workers more, when the main beneficiaries are the wealthier people. That is not right. The reality is it was not just the pandemic. Everybody knew Social Care and the nhs needed more money before the pandemic. We would have been better prepared for the pandemic if we had the investment we have argued for. What annoys me about the conservatives and why they let down so many people, they say one thing at the election and do the reverse. They break promises on tax, pensions and so many issues. That is why at the Chesham And Amersham By Election when we beat the conservatives, people said they felt let down by the conservatives. Manic let down by the conservatives. Would ou not let down by the conservatives. Would you not prefer let down by the conservatives. Would you not prefer they let down by the conservatives. Would you not prefer they break let down by the conservatives. Would you not prefer they break the you not prefer they break the promise and raised taxes, or raised national insurance, to provide the Social Care and nhs rather than not raise taxes and get more money . If you are going to raise taxes you should do it in a Fair Way like the Liberal Democrats have argued. It seems to me richer people, who will be the main beneficiaries from This programme, they will have the value of their expensive home is protected by the cap On Care costs conservatives proposed. They should as main beneficiaries pay most of the bill. Under the conservatives, it is not the beneficiaries paying but younger people, lower paid people. When you add in the fact they are cutting universal credit on low paid workers by £1000 a year, it is unfairfrom the low paid workers by £1000 a year, it is unfair from the conservatives. Liberal democrats want to invest in Social Care and we said that unlike the conservatives at the last election. I am the conservatives at the last election. Iam pleased the conservatives at the last election. I am pleased we will see more money but it is going in the wrong places and not raised in a Fair Way. Again it is the conservatives taking younger families for granted because they want to pay back to developers who give them so much money in donations to the conservative party. The government to the conservative party. The government has to the conservative party. Liberal democrats believe we need strong growth and by working with businesses, particularly small businesses and the Self Employed, who create jobs and wealth, if we backed them, we could get the economic growth that would enable us to deal with the Debt Problem. It is a point you made earlier about the conservatives. Good to talk to you about the Liberal Democrats. Sometimes it is worth making time for the things that make you smile. There was a moment in time recently when a lot of people were left smiling by one young ladys remarkable achievement. In 40 minutes, 8am, we will be speaking to Emma Raducanu, fresh from that win at the Us Open. She is home, she has had a hug from Mum And Dad who could not be with her when she was playing. She has become an inspiration to many who hope to follow in her footsteps and mike went to meet some of them. Well, what a time it must be to be a young tennis player, starting out in the game with your ambition is to have Emma Raducanus story to inspire you, like ourfriends starting out in the game with your ambitions to have Emma Raducanus story to inspire you, like ourfriends here at the bolton arena. I was your age the last time we saw a british woman win a Grand Slam singles title. It shows how long ago it was. So This is extra special, because she is only 18, what she has done against all the odds. How inspired have you been . I have been inspired to The Moon and back. It has been a great inspiration for every single person here and in the country who supports emma through every single step of the way. What about yourself . How did you feel, how has it helped your own game, what have you learned . I have learnt that no matter how old you are, you can achieve what you want to at whatever age. You are absolutely right, because she is onlyjust in a few because she is onlyjust a few years older than you, 6 7 years, and, This week, have you had a spring in your step . On the court yourselves . Definitely. I think everyone wants to be like her. The coaches have really helped to implement stuff, like hers, into our game. How does it make you feel in terms of your own game and futures . Itjust makes me think that she was once our Age And Everyone has to start somewhere and it makes us think that we can be like her one day. It must give you so much confidence. You can see everyone smiling here, everybody full of excitement because of what has happened. Yeah, when she was our age, she won a tournament in france that two of my friends are going to in two and a half weeks. So if she can do it, we can do it. Absolutely. Good luck with that in france. Maybe we are looking at the next Emma Raducanu. There are so many out there. You would not have seen it, two years ago, because you would have been at school, she was actually playing in a tournament during the day on these very courts, so you definitely are following in Emma Raducanus footsteps. What are you going to say to her, because she is on the programme later. All well done, emma fabulous. It is so exciting. When you hear theirfriends fabulous. It is so exciting. When you hear their friends could fabulous. It is so exciting. When you hear theirfriends could be following in her footsteps. We will hear from her at eight oclock. Those youngsters playing tennis, i think the effect is wider. I think a lot of people saw her and thought whatever you are doing, go for it. The attitude that says you can do it, whatever it might be. She works hard for it. Were going to a turkish barbers in germany now. Why . Theres lots of dry weather in the forecast as we head through the rest of This week. There will be clear spells around, mist developing perhaps into tomorrow morning, with overnight lows staying in double figures. And then over the course of the weekend, we have an area of low pressure sitting towards the south of us and that could spin us up a few showers at times on saturday. Also some bright and sunny spells. Temperatures peaking in the low 205 in the celsius. Sunday, maybe longer outbreaks of rain. And then High Pressure builds again into the start of next week. Im back with the latest from the Bbc London newsroom in an hour. Plenty more on our website at the usual address. Now though its back to naga and charlie. Hello, This is breakfast with Charlie Stayt and naga munchetty. Four gang members convicted of murdering 24 year old Nhs Worker David Gomoh in East London last april will be sentenced today. David had no links to gangs and was randomly stabbed near his home in newham, as he spoke on the phone to his girlfriend. So far This year, five other young men have suffered violent deaths in the borough, as the area continues to battle violent crime. Zoe conway has This report. So, when i think about him, i think of a precious, precious child. Always hugging me and kissing me and say he loves me. And hes just wonderful, beautiful, beautiful boy. Marian gomoh speaking last year about her son, david. She says he was a dedicated young man. He worked with the nhs. He had nothing to do with gangs. After being stabbed ten times, he staggered to his mothers house. I heard him bang on the door, which, i dont know where his strength came from. My name was called, mummy. And i came out. And that was it. His killers belonged to the north newham gang. Theyd gone to Enemy Territory that day in south newham, with the sole purpose of hurting or killing someone. They chose David Gomoh at random. If you want to understand newhams gang culture, you need to come to the compound gym. Inside This fortress, Raheel Butt says hes providing a safe haven for young people trying to escape the violence. Young people are being randomly targeted. And it doesnt necessarily mean that you are involved, you could be just simply working walking down the wrong street at the wrong time. And theyve been caught in the crossfire of a war. This boy is 15 years old. Hes too frightened to be identified. Theres a war going on between postcodes, e13, e6, e7, custom house. His brother was stabbed to death. And how has it been for your family . My family is struggling right now, theyre upset, theyre worried. Wherever i go, they call me every five minutes to find out where i am. The only place i go is the gym because i feel safe here. Inside, im broken, but if i ever cry, it will break down my friends and my family. And i dont want that to happen. So ijust stay strong. This Teenager Hasjust got out of prison. Hed been caught with a 22 inch knife. Why dont you just stay away from those people . If you dont want to be in a gang, then stay away. You cant stay away. The only place you feel safe is This gym. Its not that i chose This path. Itjust happened, its the area that we are in. Ive seen people, my own people, getting stabbed and shot. In the last three years, 21 people have been killed in newham. Just This year, five people have suffered violent deaths. Four young men were stabbed to death. One young man was shot. The youngest victim was 14. Coreyjunior davies fell into the control of a newham gang. They groomed him to be a drug dealer. His mother pleaded for help from local agencies. In 2017, aged just 14, he was shot dead. His killers have never been caught. Weve had already This year five violent deaths in newham. Just in 2021. What does that tell us about what its like for a teenager to grow up in newham . It tells us that weve got a lot to do. It tells that we are no different from 2017 when my son passed. No different to situations that occurred before that. We are still making the same mistakes. And when i say mistakes, weve not done anything dramatically to change the situation for these youth. I never thought id be a mother who loses a child, i had to bury a child, but i now know over 15 mothers that have done that. And we reach out to each other at those times of need. We know its a difficult time. And we help strengthen one another. Thats my new normal. Zach is 15 years old. He trains hard. Hes already been approached by a gang member, but hes not interested. And he wants to help others to stay away. I now know how to train people, i know how to do This, how to do that. So This compound is the Breeding Ground for new young people, basically. Because i see, what i see in someone, lets say someone whos had social Deprivation Or Someone thats been in a Gang Or Something like that, i see them outside and i see them as a project. I see them as being able to get better and being able to alter their mistakes and turn it into good. Its notjust a newham in the grip of This crisis. The Think Tank Crest advisory says that across england, theres been a 65 increase in teenagers admitted to hospital with knife wounds. The metropolitan police says theres been real progress in tackling violent crime over the summer in london, and officers are dedicated to creating safer communities. Zoe conway, bbc news. What a waste of life. And its very painful to see that the solutions that have been spoken about for a while now havent been implemented. And thats what i focus on. Because im all about outcomes, and im all about tackling the problem. And i wonder to myself, whats going on . Because the same way we sat and tackled the issue of a virus going around and taking lives, is the same way we have to tackle This. Its a virus. Its taking lives. So can we start putting things together in place and taking This seriously, because its taking our future champions, and ourfuture leaders away, in communities, and ruining communities. It is a serious virus. Can you Tell Me, what has not been implemented, what has not been done, what has been promised that hasnt been delivered . Been delivered . I work with so many people that have created organisations that are delivering programmes that have having great results, changing young peoples lives. Im out here working every single day to be able to transform young peoples lives. But you have to have a real structured national programme, where all young people can access, and everybody knows about it. You know, currently, im trying to work with brands and firms to create another campaign on the back of the Fifa Campaign that we have just done, that will start tackling This in the uk, in the whole of england, we want to start actually bringing organisations to together to work so we can reach out and have a greater reach so we can send messages out, change the narrative of all of This. Because there is so much negativity with young people, connected with young people. We want to inspire them and get them to see that they are our future leaders and champions and truly for them there is a better way thanjoining gangs, there is a better way thanjoining thanjoining gangs, there is a better way than joining Canteen Thanjoining gangs, there is a better way thanjoining Canteen County lines. The Government And Everyone else involved, talking about This issue, the media, everyone can play a positive role in setting up something more national. Ive talked about This, ive said This before, we have a structured system where we turn law abiding citizens into armed individuals and they go out and protect the country and whatever they have to do, i have always said This, why cant we create a national organisation that does the same to change the mindset of young people . Because im doing This on a regular basis. You just need to go on to my youtube channel, doctor Mark Prince obe, and see the work that has been done on the changes that have been made in young peoples lives. Go on our website, youll see it. People are out there working really hard. I dont think change is really being made. Flan working really hard. I dont think change is really being made. Can i ust, its change is really being made. Can i just. Its really change is really being made. Can i just, its really interesting just, its really interesting hearing what youve got to say. If i can, i willjust introduce you and the audience to Detective Chief Superintendent Richard Tucker, i know you have been listening to what mark has been saying. While the two of you are there, im just wondering if there is something specifically about how a police officer, we are talking about newham, This is where Detective Chief Superintendent Richard Tucker is, is there something specific you would like to say to Police Thereabout how they might be part of what you are talking about . I might be part of what you are talking about . Might be part of what you are talking about . I think its very important. Talking about . I think its very important, its talking about . I think its very important, its difficult talking about . I think its very important, its difficult for important, its difficult for police, their hands are tied because they are getting their money from they are getting their money from the mayor, and the resources are tight as well. And their manpower. But i also think that working together, because they can build relationships in communities and be seen to want to help young men and be seen to want to create the solution also. And when young people see that police are doing things in their community that help young people, that goes a great way to swords building relationships. Because at the moment, the young people just see police as the enemy. I would see them as an enemy as well because obviously their job, i would see them as an enemy as well because obviously theirjob, they are the one that is catching the criminals. Its a cowboy and indian situation. But he began to know that, we are arresting people that are doing wrong, thats ourjob, we have to do that, but at the same time, we want to help young people to change their lives also, so they work with organisations like us or if they are in the background but helping provide resources, helping provide premises. Those of the problem is that we face. Im struggling, like many organisations, to have the resources to be able to help more young people. We are on a shoestring budget. Itrufhat help more young people. We are on a shoestring budget. Shoestring budget. What are your thou. Hts shoestring budget. What are your thoughts as shoestring budget. And condolences to David Gomohs family, my thoughts at the moment are Davids Family and friends the moment are Davids Family and friends in the moment are Davids Family and friends in the community there. But mark friends in the community there. But mark speaks an awful lot of sense and i mark speaks an awful lot of sense and i think mark speaks an awful lot of sense and i think he has touches on something, we have had This conversation a few times, its about coordination. I would take issue with coordination. I would take issue with all coordination. I would take issue with all young people look at the police with all young people look at the police in with all young people look at the police in a with all young people look at the police in a certain way or are involved police in a certain way or are involved in police in a certain way or are involved in This, and i think that he knows involved in This, and i think that he knows that we are dealing with a relatively he knows that we are dealing with a relatively small cohort of particularly young men who make very. Particularly young men who make very. Very particularly young men who make very, very poor life choices. And we have very, very poor life choices. And we have got very, very poor life choices. And we have got to very, very poor life choices. And we have got to understand why they do that. Have got to understand why they do that i have got to understand why they do that. I would challenge some of the stuff in that. I would challenge some of the stuff in terms of the work that the met police and londons officers do every met police and londons officers do every single day, in particular over the summer every single day, in particular over the summer we had a lot of success in terms the summer we had a lot of success in terms of the summer we had a lot of success in terms of our summer plans, our search in terms of our summer plans, our search activity, from enforcement to engagement. Personally within my command, i have 34 officers engaged within command, i have 34 officers engaged within schools and youth work, engaging within schools and youth work, engaging every single day to try to. Et engaging every single day to try to get to engaging every single day to try to get to know young people better, to engage get to know young people better, to engage with them. And newham is a. Reat engage with them. And newham is a great example of the potential of young great example of the potential of young people within london. And across young people within london. And across the young people within london. And across the uk. The results of alevels across the uk. The results of a levels and gcses and btec results are outstanding. And i think as an organisation as communities, we need to tap organisation as communities, we need to tap into organisation as communities, we need to tap into that potential and offer that route to tap into that potential and offer that route to many of these young men kiss that route to many of these young men kiss that route to many of these young men kiss young men, because it is young men kiss young men, because it is young men men kiss young men, because it is young men who need to help. One men kiss young men, because it is young men who need to help. Young men who need to help. One of the thins young men who need to help. One of the things that young men who need to help. One of the things that really young men who need to help. One of the things that really shocked young men who need to help. One of the things that really shocked me, i the things that really shocked me, sorry to interrupt you, is that David Gomoh was simply killed because he was from a different area. He was asked, where are you from, when he was on the phone, and then stabbed in revenge, or as part of some gang attack. Is it safe for a young man, particularly a young black man, to be walking in newham today, if hes not from the area and are not familiar with what streets are not familiar with what streets are safe to walk on . Not that that is not lack tackle all of This. Not that that is not lack of tackle all of This. Not that that is not lack of effort, its that we have not lack of effort, its that we have to not lack of effort, its that we have to renew our effort. I would say it have to renew our effort. I would say it is have to renew our effort. I would say it is safe because violent crime doesnt say it is safe because violent crime doesnt affect everyone. Davids case doesnt affect everyone. Davids case was doesnt affect everyone. Davids case was absolutely tragic. The Contrast Case was absolutely tragic. The contrast between david, and mark touched contrast between david, and mark touched on This, and the potential of david touched on This, and the potential of david and what he would try to do for him. His of david and what he would try to do for him, his family and his community, with those convicted of his murder, community, with those convicted of his murder, cannot be more stark. And we his murder, cannot be more stark. And we have his murder, cannot be more stark. And we have to understand why those boys took and we have to understand why those boys took that route, with all the interventions, all the opportunity to change interventions, all the opportunity to change their lifestyle, they chose to change their lifestyle, they chose that way of life. I would say it is safe chose that way of life. I would say it is safe. And i use Davids Case as an it is safe. And i use Davids Case as an example of why we come to work everything as an example of why we come to work everything all day. Why londons Officers Everything all day. Why londons officers come to work every single day, to officers come to work every single day, to make it even safer for everyone day, to make it even safer for everyone there is even more work to be done everyone there is even more work to be done mark touched on it, and i would be done mark touched on it, and i would tap be done mark touched on it, and i would tap into all of the efforts that not would tap into all of the efforts that not just the would tap into all of the efforts that notjust the police, that the local that notjust the police, that the local authorities and charities do across local authorities and charities do across london to reduce crime. Changes to englands travel rules are expected to be announced later today. The Travel Industry has long been calling for restrictions to be eased to build confidence in the Sector And Help save jobs. We can speak now the Managing Director of tui, andrew flintham. Thank you for your time, what would you like to see announced today . The ood you like to see announced today . Inez good news is you like to see announced today . Ii9 good news is it is a simple set of things we would like to see. We need to see fully vaccinated travellers being able to move without Restriction And Testing to low risk countries. We need a simplified system. The system when you could go or not go would be a great thing. We need a Red List. As everywhere else is doing. Need a Red List. As everywhere else is doinu. , , need a Red List. We assume there will be a Red List, if those countries are on that, we understand that challenge. When you look at international travel and look at international travel and look at international travel and look at the average rate in the uk, domestic rate, 1. 4 , if you travel to a green List Country the Infection Rate is half that on the test coming back and lower for Amber List countries. There is not a risk in the way it has been vilified in terms of international travel is dangerous. It is probably more dangerous. It is probably more dangerous to go to the supermarket. Despite the easing of coronavirus restrictions, some families in england say theyre still not being allowed to see Loved Ones living in Care Homes as often as theyd like. More than a quarter of A Million people have signed a petition calling on the government to do more, amid claims some homes arent following official guidance. Breakfast s Jayne Mccubbin reports. I much prefer to have my mother| alive and kicking, rather than Risk Exposure to a disease that we know preys on the elderly. They want to go out at weekends, they want to go dancing, they want to go to nightclubs and football matches and stuff. I dont go anywhere. Life may be returning to normal for many. Not the relatives and residents of Care Homes. Its now time to live with it, manage it. Thats what theyve got to do. I will say it again and we say it often when we have reports and films like that. Thank you to all of those who took part and telling us their personal stories, and who allow all of us to witness what is going on. The District Line is part suspended. Theres no service between Edgware Road to high Street Kensington due to a signal failure. Severe delays on the circle lane. And minor delays on the Hammersmith And City line. Onto the weather now with elizabeth rizzini. Hello, good morning. Theres lots of dry weather in the forecast as we head through the rest of This week. There will be clear spells around, mist developing perhaps into tomorrow morning, with overnight lows staying in double figures. And then over the course of the weekend, we have an area of low pressure sitting towards the south of us and that could spin us up a few showers at times on saturday. Also some bright and sunny spells. Temperatures peaking in the low 20s in the celsius. No, done now, completed, yeah. They just want to help in anyway they can. Just like little things like, people popping to the shop and bringing you some milk. Little things like that you dont think of. Because your second child, bodhi, was born so soon afterwards, about three months . Yeah. How was that . Chaos, to say the least. Its been. Its been emotionally difficult for me, because obviously with aurelia, i was very involved with her growing up as a toddler. Whereas because This left side has been a little bit stilted, ive not been able to be as involved with carrying and feeding, with bo. So thats been tough mentally. But im here and were doing it, and im present and thats all that counts, i think. To get. Better. Better its for you, isnt it, to get better for you, yes. How much of a support has your wife kelsey been . 0h, shes been incredible, shes taken the absolute world on her shoulders, bless her. She had to deal with a newborn, a two year old, shes a warrior. So ijust try and ignore it as much as possible. And thats hard at times, you know, when you have stilted walking, you cant move your arm, im like, come on, get moving. What would be a bad day, then . So, a bad day could would be, wake up, cant eat anything, chemo really took it out of me. Its the appetite. You cant eat anything. And then obviously youre losing weight. I lost about, lost about three and a Half Stone in about three weeks. And then to try and get that back on again, its easy to lose weight but putting it back on is really, really hard. Another interesting topic with cancer is the language people use. Some people dont like the phrases like fighting and battle. Where do you stand on that . I love, really love that youve brought that up. Because i dont personally like it. I get why people want to say it. But im not a big advocate of fighting. I think that, you just live your life and you get on with it. I dont want to see it as a fight. I just see it as a part of My Life now. Thats how its gone. And did you know how do you get up from an all time low im in pieces, it seems like peace is the only thing i never know how do you get out, get out becausejogging wont do it, flying wont do it. This coming monday at the royal Albert Hall, you have organised a concert to raise money for cancer. What made you want to do it . This disease, for the last 20 years, has been pretty much untouchable. No ones been able to find a cure, no ones been able to find a treatment. This is the Brain Tumour . The Brain Tumour, yeah. You know, nothing has really changed. So we really want to just get as much money in funding, into charity as much as possible so that can find a breakthrough. And it feels like theyre on the cusp of doing it. So hopefully This concert can make a change. You started getting names involved. Yeah, weve got sigrid, liam payne, which was a massive name. Well, they were the big rivals of the wanted, it used to be One Direction versus the wanted. Yeah, it was. He reached out straightaway and was like, mate, anything i can do to help. I was like, i would love you to perform. He was totally in. And you dont get much bigger than ed sheeran. I know, hes going to do a virtual performance. Im genuinely over The Moon about it, to be quite honest with you. I mean, the guy is arguably the biggest artists on the planet. And also a certain group called the wanted. Theyre getting back together. How did that come about . I spoke to the boys and said, i would love for you to believe be involved in some capacity. They were like, yeah, absolutely. We didnt really know what that capacity was going to be at the time. But now everyone is like, yeah, we want to sing. Like, 0k looks like were singing bit nostalgic, had a bit of butterflies, obviously. But good butterflies. And youre about to start rehearsals. We are. In the next few hours . Next few hours. Im pretty scared, to be honest, im a bit nervous about it. But, at the same time, very excited. You know, weve been together a little bit over the last few weeks and the chemistry is still the same. Ijust wish my mobility was a little better, but its fine, were there and were present, were doing it, were making a difference. My universe will never be the same im glad you came, im glad you came looking back at your time in the wanted, because as you say, its seven and a half years ago, how much did you enjoy being a Pop Star . Absolutely loved it, to be honest with you. I had nothing before the band. I was on the dole. I had no real, like, aim of where i was going in life and the Band Kind of saved My Life to be quite honest with you. So im really, really grateful. And now, a greatest hits in november, and a whole tour next march. What are your hopes for what the wanted can achieve This time . Hopefully, more global success but to be honest with you, im just happyjust to be part of the band again, part of thejourney, part of the story. To be honest im just grateful to be here and alive. You said the first time round they saved your life, it sounds like theyve given you a real boost now. It really has. Yeah, the boys have been such a great support network. I dont think i would have been able to get by to be honest without their support without the support and help. Who is the best hugger in the Bag Band . 0h, jay has the best hugs. Hes such a great hugger. How has your perspective on Life Change in the last year . A lot more carefree, i dont care about peoples opinions. I used to be really bothered by stuff like that. And now all i care about is my kids, my wife. Thats all that matters to me really now. What message would you have for anyone who finds themselves in your position . Just focus on every day. You know, none of us, any of us in This room dont know what tomorrow holds. And i think thats the one thing that ive taken from the situation. Live today like its your last. Sometimes people are quite confounded, sometimes i am myself, when you hear that financing, money comes into the equation. People often point to the Covid Vaccine programme, people say, things like that cant happen in the space of time that it happened. There is an example of things that can happen quicker, given resources. Are you applying that same principle, something could change, if we do it now and we have the resources . Absolutely. We have looked at what happened with the Covid Vaccine, people were in a terrible situation, and they said, well, lets do something about it. Lets put resources into it and lets also look at the regulators, to make it easier to get through and make it faster. When we have designed a clinical Trial Programme that can rapidly move through very small clinical trials. Rapidly move through very small clinicaltrials. So rapidly move through very small clinical trials. You tell people, glioblastoma, you google it, you see what people are facing, you see what tom is facing, it makes it easier for people to go to people and ask them to be in clinical trials because they want them. A bit of a mixed picture out there today. For many of us, blue sky and sunshine, like in east sussex, a bit of patchy cloud drifting around. Many places particularly central and Eastern England will keep the Sunshine Today but it will not be dry across the board. Some rain working in from the west so that is on quite a slow front. It is moving its way in from the atlantic but as it approaches the atlantic but as it approaches the uk, it bumps into an area of High Pressure holding on across europe. That means the Weather Front will not push through in a hurry, it will not push through in a hurry, it will get stuck over the next couple of days so it is producing some rain This morning across parts of Northern Ireland, Western Scotland, and later we will see it cringing into parts of wales and the South West of england. For much of the day, Eastern Scotland is staying warm and dry, much of england keeping sunny skies. Temperatures up to 22 degrees, cooler towards the North West, typically in the high teens here. Quite windy across northern and Western Scotland today. This evening and overnight, we have a zone of cloud, still producing patchy rain from Eastern Scotland all the way down to the south of england. Eitherside all the way down to the south of england. Either side of that area of cloud, it is clear and dry overnight but wherever you are, not a cold night. Ten to 15 degrees into the weekend. Saturdays where there will be dominated by This Weather Front but it is quite a weak affair so it will fizzle out a little bit, still bringing some cloud and patchy rain to similarareas, bringing some cloud and patchy rain to similar areas, Eastern Scotland, down into wales and the South West. Either side of that, sunnier skies and it will bring warmth to the South East. Morning mist clearing away so sunny spells, light winds and 23 or 21 degrees. A few degrees higher than we would expect for This time of year. Turning cooler towards the North West. We will see a second Weather Front sweeping in as we move through Saturday Night into sunday. That Will Pep up This area of low pressure and that means sunday could be unsettled, for many of us. Early rain initially towards the North And West and that pushes east, some of these bursts of rain could be happy with the odd rumble of thunder mixed in. Because we have light winds, the rain will not be moving very quickly so they could be some Surface Water hanging around. Not quite as warm as saturday on sunday, 15 to 20 degrees. Towards the new working week, the Weather Fronts start to fade away. High pressure starts to build in, we are between weather systems on monday. Quite a bit of dry weather for monday and tuesday, not quite as warm as the weekend. Things will turn more unsettled and autumnal later in the week. Thank you. It was well worth the trip for the 2000 West Ham fans who made it to zagreb, and saw their team produce one of the nights best performances in the europa league. They won 2 0 at dinamo zagreb, with goals coming from the in Form Michail Antonio, and the second, a Dazzling Run and finish, from england star, declan rice. He certainly wanted to enjoy This moment. The first win in europe This century, discounting qualifiers. The wait has been worth it for the very happy hammers. Leicester, fans should have been celebrating a famous European Win, against napoli at the king power stadium. They had led 2 0, but the italians scored twice in the second half, the equaliser coming in the 87th minute. That was a really good measure for us. I think people talked before the game, napoli arguably being the favourites for the competition with all the experience that they have and the quality, but we were very competitive tonight. And 0k, were disappointed to lose the goals, but still, lots for us to be happy about and lots for us to go away and look at and analyse where we can be better. Celtic also let a Lead Slip in a thrilling match, against Spanish Side real betis. They were 2 0 up inside 30 minutes, but then defensive Frailty Cost them as they conceded two goals, either side of half time, and ended up losing, 14 3. It was a disappointing night too for their glasgow neighbours rangers, who were beaten 2 0 at home to the french side lyon. Spurs were involved in the new tournament, the europa conference league. The third tier of european competition, but it was a stuttering start and they needed This goalfrom Pierre Emile Hojbjerg to salvage a point in france against rennes. 2 2 the final score. Take a stroll along any beach in britain and youre likely to come across litter. Plastic bottles, food wrappers, pieces of fishing net. And since the pandemic, theres a new type of trash blighting the coastline, personal protective equipment. Gloves, masks and wipes were among the 150,000 pieces of litter filling more than 600 binbags collected by volunteers at the Great British Beach clean last year. The marine Conservation Society says discarded ppe cropped up on a third of Beaches'>The Beaches they cleaned. Now the volunteers are back on more than 400 Beaches and once again, they will be recording what they find. Last year, it was 425 items of litter per 100 metres of beach. There is some good news. Since The End of free Plastic Carrier bags in many shops, theres been a 55 drop in bags found on uk Beaches. Now the marine Conservation Society hopes the litter it collects and the data will help to build a case for more practical steps to keeping britains Beaches beautiful.
