The Foreign Secretary, Dominic Raab, has insisted that the uk did not perform worse than other countries in its evacuation from kabul after the city fell to the taliban. Hes been answering questions from mps about his response to the crisis in afghanistan this afternoon. Mr raab said the number of british nationals and afghan allies Left Behind was in the low hundreds, but could not be more specific. He added that some guards who worked at the british embassy did not get out. Mr raab was first questioned by the conservative chair of the committee, mp Tom Tugendhat, who fought in afghanistan. Really, the Prime Minister is responsible for the joint Intelligence Committee and the assessment it makes. Is that where the responsibility lies, with the Prime Minister . Well, actually, Youll Recall that after the Chilcot Inquiry in the second iraq war, thele was there to give an independent assessment of intelligence precisely to avoid politicised. Politicisation. But, ultimately you have thele giving its assessment, and you then have the military and the diplomatic assessment thats layered on top of that. There was a collective assessment through the jic . It was a collective assessment through the jic that you were referring to . It wasnt a particularly military assessment, is that correct . Well, thele is there to provide the information, if you like, the raw intelligence thats distilled down, and then that is backed up by the military assessment, for example, on things like intent although, frankly, its a cross cutting issue. My point is this. The central assessment that we were operating to and it was certainly backed up by both thele and the military is that the likely, most likely, most Central Proposition was that, given the Troop Withdrawal by The End of august, you would see a steady deterioration from that point, and that it was unlikely kabul would fall this year. That was the central assessment, and, of course, with all the usual caveats that you will be familiar with. That didnt mean that we didnt do Contingency Planning or game out or test the other propositions. And, just to be clear, Thats Something that was widely shared, that view, amongst nato allies. Dominic raab. 0ur political Correspondent Ione wells is at westminster hi, my team. I think one of the key learnings that we got from Mr Rab there was what we have just learned today. Essentially the central intelligence was operating on the central assessment that they were following that when us troops withdrew we would see a steady deterioration of the situation in afghanistan but that kabul was unlikely to fall this year. In other words, the intelligence they were following was not correct and that is a pretty strong can make admission we have heard there from the Foreign Secretary in a sponsor terms as we have had for some time. Quite frosty the chair when Tom Tugendhat specifically press the pm on a key Risk Report from july that warned of a vapid tell of an advance that could lead to them returning to power. Now, when he was questioned on this Mr Rab was asked what the source of this was under siege a Pity Risk Response that it was your critical disco pop. That question is not going away any time soon for dominic thou but when it came to pressures that has Decision Making as well there were a lot of questions asked about the specifics of Mr Rab s holliday. He pretty visibly bristled when he was asked for specific dates about when he went on holiday and if the us had already been advised that the taliban could seize control of the country. Here is how he didnt go might defend himself, though, when push to give a specific answer. I have said that i would not go away with the have said that i would not go away with the benefit of hindsight. When did ou no with the benefit of hindsight. When did you go on with the benefit of hindsight. When did you go on holiday . With the benefit of hindsight. When did you go on holiday . Im with the benefit of hindsight. Im not going to start adding to the facts of to start adding to the facts of the fishing to start adding to the facts of the Fishing Expedition beyond the facts i Fishing Expedition beyond the facts i have Fishing Expedition beyond the facts i have articulated and having answered questions continually about that. Answered questions continually about that its answered questions continually about that. ,. , answered questions continually about that. ~ ,. ,. , that. As you heard, there, no sort of specific that. As you heard, there, no sort of specific answer that. As you heard, there, no sort of specific answer about that. As you heard, there, no sort of specific answer about what of specific answer about what exactly went on holiday in the other Question Itjust where he didnt provide a specific answer to much of the frustration of the mps asking the frustration of the mps asking the questions was how many afghans in britain still remaining in afghanistan who are eligible to be evacuated. Now, he said that he couldnt with any confidence provide any specific numbers though he said the numbers of pits was in the low to mid hundreds. This has been a Big Point Of Contention between Dominic Raab and mps of the last couple of days with many mps personally raging with him cases that theyve had come to their Constituency Offices of eligible afghan citizens who are needing to be evacuated but are still stuck out there. Now, a lot of mps have said that this number has been wide dominic wildly underestimated, that it could be as many as 7000 still stuck out there, which is something that Dominic Raab has disputed but he was pressured on this to give some specific numbers which lead to one quite heated exchange of the Labour Mp who accused him of not answering the question and also asked him if he owed both afghans and british troops an apology for his actions over the last few weeks. Do you owe those afghan nationals and those british troops who were flown into a more dangerous situation, an apology for the circumstances they have faced . I think we owe them every effort to get those out that we did, over 70,000 since april, and now to focus on the new reality in afghanistan with the arrangements that we are working on at speed, which is why im going to the region shortly, but with our international partners, which is what ive been doing, to get those that remain out as swiftly and safely, and responsibly as possible. Studio there are no specific questions about how many remember thatis questions about how many remember that is certainly a Question Mps are going to continue to push about in the next couple of weeks. Also this question in the taliban we have been discussing in a couple of weeks as well, this question of how they plan to get out those people who assume to get out those people who assume to be evacuated. 0ne to get out those people who assume to be evacuated. One of the big questions facing ministers is how they are going to push the taliban to ensure Safe Passage, both the citizens but also there is afghans fleeing the taliban now has only to get out of the country. Thank you very much. Ione wells in westminster. Lets get more reaction now from Lisa Nandy mp, whos the Shadow Secretary of state for Foreign And Commonwealth affairs. Thank you very much forjoining us. What did you make of the answers that Dominic Raab was able to give to the select Committee Today . I to the select Committee Today . I think it almost defied belief. We expected him to turn up after having been criticised all sized with answers to very basic questions including how many british nationals are still in afghanistan about how hes going to work to ensure that those who are Left Behind can find Safe Passage and be allowed to cross borders. We thought he would be able to give as an honest appraisal of the failures over the last 18 months that led us to this point but instead he refused to answer those very basic questions. He didnt seem to be in command of the facts when he was presented with an assessment from his own department on the 22nd Ofjuly showing the situation was deteriorating in taliban were advancing much more quickly than they previously believed. He could not outline a single thing that he had done in response to that except going on holiday and, most striking of all was something that you alluded to in the report which was the complete lack of humility. British troops had to fly into danger in order to do a difficult, dangerousjob because he hadnt done his and today he couldnt even bring himself to apologise. He his and today he couldnt even bring himself to apologise. Himself to apologise. He did say with the gift himself to apologise. He did say with the gift of himself to apologise. He did say with the gift of hindsight himself to apologise. He did say with the gift of hindsight he with the gift of hindsight he wouldnt have gone on holiday. He also did say, though, that they thought it was in the low hundreds, not the thousands of people who still need to come out and are eligible to do so. That is a far more manageable position then you are suggesting. More manageable position then you are suggesting more manageable position then you are suggesting. Well, he was talking about british are suggesting. Well, he was talking about british nationals are suggesting. Well, he was talking about british nationals when are suggesting. Well, he was talking about british nationals when he are suggesting. Well, he was talking about british nationals when he said | about british nationals when he said that he thought that the numbers might be in the low hundreds and he was pulled up on that on the committee by a number of mps who were, like so many mps, absolutely exasperated by the various different systems in the Ministry Of Defence, the Home Office and the foreign office, and the way in which those three departments seem completely incapable of working together in order to deal with people who are stranded in afghanistan. Ministers have been warned repeatedly over recent weeks that its not even clear for some of those brave afghans who have served alongside our troops, who supported our government and our efforts over 20 years, it is not even clear which department they should be applying to, and the Foreign Secretary admitted today that it was true that many of those E Mails in his own Department Hasnt yet been read. He said vaguely that he was going to try and find some way of tree adding there was them on to the relevant departments but this, surely, is incompetence of the highest order, that it reeks eight weeks after the scale of this stat to become apparent the Government Hasnt begun to get its act together, not to speak to the afghan Foreign Minister, pakistani Foreign Minister who it said that he hadnt talked to either butjust who it said that he hadnt talked to either but just talk to other government departments, to talk to their own cabinet colleagues in order to get a grip on the system and it became apparent today that even that basic Step Hasnt happened. Of course, the question of withdrawal is a question for america. They have lost thousands of american lives in afghanistan and spent billions of dollars over two decades and at some point they were going to withdraw. We have been physical in of the way in which they decided to withdraw to create a hard deadline but the Foreign Secretary was asked today whether he tried to convince the united states that it would be a better idea to withdraw in phases, where he tried to convince them to extend that deadline, he couldnt answer those basic questions, and, most tellingly of all, it was clear that, having had 18 months to prepare and four and a half months in which they had known that the 31st Of August was the date by which all british troops, all british staff, all british nationals in the afghans who helped us would need to be evacuated, while some countries like france had put those measures and placements and months ago, his department had been the weakest link in a very weak Chain And Hadnt put in a very weak Chain And Hadnt put in place basic resources here in the uk in order to deal with the inevitable applications theyd have to process. But inevitable applications theyd have to rocess. . To process. But if the intelligence that the foreign to process. But if the intelligence that the Foreign Secretary to process. Well, that has been a Foreign Secretary was my purpose. Well, that has been a Foreign Secretary was my argument ever since the taliban took control of kabul and he returned from holiday, that the united states certainly had access to intelligence that suggested that the taliban advance that dominic wouldnt be quite as rapid but today the chair of the Foreign Affairs Select Committee produced evidence from within his own department on the 22nd Ofjuly they were aware that the situation was deteriorating rapidly and the taliban were advancing much more quickly than they thought. It was so serious that they thought. It was so serious that the Ministry Of Defence the following day cancelled all leave and gets the Foreign Secretarys only response to that new reality seems to have been to up sticks and go on holiday at the same time as his Permanent Secretary and at the same time as the Prime Minister. I spoke to officials from the turkish Comment Yesterday about what it would be possible for a Nato Country like turkey that has better relationships with the Taliban In Afghanistan to be able to guarantee some kind of Civilian Del so that people could be Guarantee Passage to the border but what became apparent todayis the border but what became apparent today is that the foreign Secretary Hasnt even done the work that is needed to get people through the border. He hasnt done that basic Land Work with countries like pakistan who are currently housing 3 Million afghan refugees. They want assurances that if they admit people into pakistan that britain will step up into pakistan that britain will step up and take them. That is why we need clarity from the government about who it is prepared to accept, because they are very sketchy on the details about public figures and high profile prosecutors and judges, activists, and whether they would be with papers to come to the united kingdom. We need urgent clarity about who is eligible, we need to get back to regional partners, we need to make sure that when people get to those borders they can get across the borders in order to the sanctuary. The taliban have told the bbc that their new government will be announced in the next day or two but there may not be a woman in any of the top posts or in cabinet. Meanwhile, the uk is in talks with the taliban to try to secure Safe Passage out of afghanistan for remaining british nationals and eligible refugees. Our first report is from our correspondent rajini vaidyanathan. A nation on the brink of a humanitarian disaster. Now under taliban rule. A third of afghans do not know where their next meal will come from. The un said nearly half of the country needs help to survive. Supporters of the taliban have been celebrating the departure of foreign forces. Now, the militants have to show how theyll run the country. A senior representative in qatar told the bbc an announcement on a new government is expected in the next day or two. In every department of the government and ministries, you can see almost half of the civil workers are women, so they can come back to their work and they can continue, but maybe in this new government which has been announced, in the top posts and in the cabinet, there may not be women. These images show the desperate scenes last week. The Uk Government says its in talks with taliban representatives in qatar to discuss how to help those it promised it would. The focus of that resolution is about preserving and recognising Human Rights, permitting Safe Passage through afghanistan for those who need to move country, and also to prevent terror. That must be the long term aim of all the international community with this. Taliban Militia Patrol the streets of kabul, one of the many signs of change. And so not only was there a period of time when people could get the losers, but there was a period of time when there were british forces on the ground and now we are told that our only hope is successful negotiation with the taliban. Covid Vaccine Passports for nightclubs and larger live events will be introduced in scotland later this month if the Scottish Parliament approves the plans. First minister Nicola Sturgeon has been setting out her proposals to msps. Ms sturgeon said the increasing spread of coronavirus is extremely concerning and the number of new cases is 80 higher than last week, and five times higher than four weeks ago. Heres what she had to say. We propose, subject to parliamentary agreement, that Vaccination Certification should be introduced later this month, once all adults have had the opportunity to be fully vaccinated for the following events and venues. Firstly, Night Clubs and Adult Entertainment venues. Second, unseated indoor live events with more than 500 people in the audience. Next, unseated outdoor live events with more than 4,000 people in the audience, and lastly any event of any nature and, lastly, any event of any nature which has more than 10,000 people in attendance. We dont currently consider it appropriate to introduce certification for the Hospitality Industry as a whole, and we hope that will not be necessary. However, we will keep that under Review 0ur Scotland Correspondent Lorna gordonjoins us now. There has been a lot of response of ready made to the state Nicola Sturgeon made this afternoon. We have had response in the political arena, business and of course the Sporting Bodies as well. He told their of where the vaccine has but will be needed. She also, it is important to say, made clear where it wont be needed as well. It wont be required for any key services or settings where people have no choice over attendance such as public transport, educational settings or access to medical services also dont like shops but, nonetheless, there has been some quite wide ranging response coming in. The liberal democrats, the Scottish Liberal Democrats, the Scottish Liberal Democrats, the Scottish Liberal Democrats are saying that showing medical records to access certain situations is an illiberal step in a dangerous precedent. I think it is fair to say that the Scottish Green Party of also not keen but of course they had just entered into this Power Sharing Agreement with the Snp Government here in scotland and this is not one of the areas that has been excluded under the deal so they will be bound by collective responsibility and will have to vote in favour of the deal next week. Weve had a response, as well, from the federation of small businesses. It was lukewarm and nuanced support, i think it is fair to say, but they said they must also be no rush to extend the system until we see how it actually works and, of course if you look at the numbers involved this will also apply to certain Football Games here in scotland so the sfa has responded. They say they are surprised. They have some sick earn dominant concerns and they have a significant number of questions for the scottish government as to how this will work, how well it will work, for instance, the Season Ticket holders, how well it will work the people who dont have smartphones because we are talking about a Qr Code being used initially and then act being introduced later down the line but this will go to a full parliamentary debate next week at the Scottish Parliament followed by a vote but the intention is that it will be introduced this month. Our home Affairs Correspondent is Dominic Casciani explained the case. A new type of petrol is being rolled out across forecourts in britain today. Its called e10. The government says itll be more environmentally friendly, but it wont be compatible with over half A Million older vehicles. Our Business Correspondent Nina Warhurst has more. If youre filling up with Petrol Today you will see some changes at the pump. Let me just show you. So, the Traditional E5 is being phased out, and in its place from today will be e10. What does that mean . So, it is a move from 5 Ethanol Content to 10 Ethanol Content, and why is that significant . Well, ethanol as you probably know is like alcohol, and its made from natural waste matter, so, for example, coming from food waste, for example, and so it is carbon neutral. This is part of the governments drive to move us towards carbon neutrality. We know that by 2030 we will all be in electric cars but in the meantime this is about making fuel more environmentally friendly. There are some problems, though. Its not compatible with all older cars, so those made from around the time of 2011 going backwards, and thats the equivalent, they think, of around 600,000 cars, so its definitely worth checking. The good thing, though, is this is the equivalent, this shift to 10 , of taking 300,000 cars of the road. Thats the equivalent of every single car in north yorkshire, so it is an important shift. Just a warning, though, as we move to this e10 petrol, it wont necessarily take you as far as the old fuel so it will be a little bit more expensive but the government are saying it is a very small price to pay, literally, for the environmental benefits. Now we can Take A Look at the weather prospects. 0ne now we can Take A Look at the weather prospects. Scunthorpes Victoria Rumary winning bronze on her paralympic debut. All the sweeter after what has been such a difficult buildup. It has been so hard. The last few months especially because i was in the Shielding Group as well. When i could finally return to training, it was all about cracking on and aiming for tokyo. And to get one of these there was also british success in the athletics. Wheelchair Racer Sammy Kinghorn powering to bronze in the 200 metres. For the 25 year old, a first paralympic medal. In the Table Tennis meanwhile, mixed fortunes for the british mens teams. One had to settle for bronze after losing to china in a semi final. While in a different class, it was a different story. A new cholesterol treatment, described as a game changer, could soon be offered to thousands of people on the nhs in england. Inclisiran normally costs £2,000 per dose, but the Health Service has negotiated an undisclosed discount with its makers, novartis as our Health Correspondent Dominic Hughes reports. Heart attacks and strokes are one of the most common causes of death and Ill Health in the uk, and high cholesterol is a big risk factor. A healthy Diet And Exercise can help keep cholesterol down. But some people need medication, too. Statins a relatively cheap treatment, work for many, but not all. Now patients in england and wales could be offered a new drug called inclisiran. Its a cholesterol busting injection given twice a year, and could help patients for whom statins dont do enough. People like Zena Foster from newcastle. Ive worked through four statins. Im on my fourth statin now. So this, i guess the thing to say about Heart Disease is that it is relentless. There is no cure, and ijust aim to slow the progress. I think, importantly, it gives hope. And hope is a precious commodity when you have Heart Disease. More than two in five people in england have high cholesterol and 6. 5 million adults are currently taking cholesterol lowering drugs such as statins. Nhs england says the new treatment, inclisiran, could save around 30,000 lives within a decade. There is a huge unmet need. High cholesterol levels, and even in some cases there are people who are just very vulnerable to even modest levels of cholesterol, and its a silent killer. So being able to lower that and bring levels down close to the levels that we are actually born with, conveniently and safely, is a complete game changer. The new drug will be recommended for those who have already had a Stroke Or Heart attack and are not responding to other cholesterol lowering treatments. It has already been approved for use in scotland, but what is described as a ground breaking deal has now been reached with the manufacturers to make it available in england and wales as well. Potentially saving thousands of lives. Dominic hughes, bbc news. Lets get more now on the situation in afghanistan, as the taliban say they will name their government in the coming days. Its expected no women will be in senior roles. 0ur chief international Correspondent Lyse Doucet is In Kabul. Many afghans in recent weeks decided to flee the country, taking advantage of the opportunity provided by the military Evacuation Flights. Now that theyve ended, many more are still saying they dont believe its safe to stay here and are hoping against hope that the western countries who had taken out so many other afghans will continue this evacuation process. Well, a top female politician who stayed at least for some days after the taliban came to power decided it was time to go. Fuzia kofi joins us now from Doha Welcome to bbc news. Why did you decide you had to go . Well, lyse, you know that i stayed for more than two weeks with the hope that we would engage and unpack the situation to give people that are desperate, millions of men and women, some level of hope that there would be a government that would be representative, that would be inclusive. Fawzia koofi. I had contact with people who were in the taliban who were In Kabul, i tried to gather some women and meet them but ive been constantly receiving messages and signs that they are not going to include women, that they will not respect and there were events that women were supposed to be a part of, but they were not, including big events about education. Personally also, although i was under extremely difficult situations, and you know that i was moving from one place to the other for the past two weeks just to survive, also with the taliban at my gate. But i still tried to make some impact and change. I came to this realisation that its not going to be possible any more to do that from kabul. So i decided to come out in continue to do what i wanted to do In Kabulfrom abroad, but with the hope that i would return back soon. Well, you had been negotiating with taliban leaders in the political office of the taliban in qatar for almost a year now, you met some of them In Kabul what did they tell you . Because they are sending the message that they want people to stay. Well, we want to stay there. Its a country that most of us not only invested our time, but also our blood, to build it and make a better country, you know, for what i was doing for other women they paid the highest price of being targeted and assassinated. Some of us survived, but unfortunately the situation is in a way that there is no hope. People who are eligible were previously entitled to a five year residency. Meanwhile, Scotlands Council save more than a0 candidates have arrived here from afghanistan, and 60 more are expected in the next few weeks. Richard galpin reports. At the moment, many are in hotels in this country, waiting for housing to become available, but happy to escape the violence. Translation this area is very good for us. We believe we and our children will have a Bright Future here. And we are very grateful and indebted to you all. What is different from afghanistan is that here women have the same rights as men. Before the chaos, our lives were good in afghanistan but here i believe our lives will be better. Overall it is estimated the uk is evacuated more than 17,000 people from afghanistan since mid august. 8,000 of those under the afghan relocations and Assistance Policy set up to allow interpreters and others who have worked for that uk to come here. According to the government, a significant number of councils in this country have already offered to provide housing for those in need. But more is required. We would like to be able to put them into permanent accommodation but we have to be realistic that the scale of this task is such that we simply do not have permanent housing available we can offer to people. Donations of clothing, shoes, and other essentials have also been pouring into warehouses thanks to a campaign by afghan volunteers living in this country. This also helping new arrivals to settle in. I came in a similar situation about 20 years ago, and i understand how difficult it is for people in this situation and coming here with no language, no support and no Family And Theyve lost everything so i completely understand how difficult it is for them. The government is pledging to provide £20 million to help afghan children get into schools in the uk and students into university and to help those who need health care. Richard galpin, bbc news. Itv has been cleared by Media Regulator 0fcom over piers Morgans Criticism of the duchess of sussex. His comments, that he didnt believe what meghan said in her interview with Oprah Winfrey in march, led to his exit from good morning britain. 0ur Entertainment Correspondent Lizo Mzimba has been giving me more details. Off, 0ff, has to balance often two competing things Broadcasters Freedom of expression and audiences from harm. Now most of the complaints were concerned with two particular areas, complaints were concerned with two particularareas, piers complaints were concerned with two particular areas, Piers Morgans comments about Mental Health and suicide, and race. 0n the issue, the duchess of sussex spoke to 0prah about having suicidal thoughts and needing help. As a response, Piers Morgan said she didnt he didnt believe a word she said. 0ff kim off comp said those comments and isolation had the potential to cause harm, but they added the fact that he was robustly challenged by his co workers, so the overall itv had put adequate safeguards in place in the code was not broken. Similarly when it came to racism, meghan had said that chief had had recent expenses with the royal family, and people claim that Piers Morgan denied and belittled this. Again, 0fcom said this had the potential to be highly offensive, but that again Piers Morgan invited comments from other guests on the show who robustly challenged his views so overall again, there was no break of the code on this particular occasion. Of course there were lots of discussions of Piers Morgan walking out of the show, and later quitting. Iv e ive looked nearly one in three of the Worlds Tree species are facing extinction in the wild. According to a report published by conservationists, oaks, maples and magnolias are among those at risk. 0ur Correspondent Sanchia Berg has been at Kew Gardens in South West London finding out just how serious the threat is. I have been looking at some of these species identified as being at risk down here at Kew Gardens, including some extraordinary trees from madagascar from what is called the Dry Forest which have been particularly affected by logging and some are close to extinction. Of course, they are here being conserved at Kew Gardens as part of a huge programme in this area, but the authors of the report are concerned about the number of trees in their own native environment because a whole ecosystem can depend on them. So the Lemurs Of Madagascar for example depend on those trees just as many other plants and animals do and as you said its not just the exotic trees but also much more familiar british trees and European Trees that this report identifies as being at risk in their home areas. So they are hoping that the report will alert people to what is actually happening in the fact that many species of trees are at risk particularly in the countries where they evolved. Four weeks its just four weeks until the Uk Premiere of daniel craigs fifth and final outing as James Bond in no time to die, which has been repeatedly delayed by the pandemic. The final trailer has just been released, and it shows all the high Octane Action that Bond Fans have come to expect. It comes as welcome tonic for the uks cinemas. Quite a while. Barring another screeching u turn, were away from witnessing bonds return, out of retirement, and into the arms of an old foe. Now your enemy is my enemy. How did that happen . Well, you live long enough. After a year in which the pandemic sent the Box Office into a tailspin with billions of dollars lost, and after that top Gun Tom cruises well publicised Summer Trip to see tenet proved somewhat of a false start, could no time to die be the blockbuster that really brings us back to the big screen . I have to finish this. The release may also help bolster the Box Office in its battle with the home sofa. Even though Amazons Takeover of mgm, the Hollywood Studio behind bond, has led some to speculate future releases like this may be fast tracked to the small screen. Thats a sore point for actors who profit from Box Office bonuses, including Black Widow actress scarlettjohansson, who is currently in a battle with the walt disney company, unhappy they premiered her film on its Streaming Service at the same time as in cinemas. I understand 00s have a very short life expectancy. But every actor who has played bond so far has made it safely onto the big screen. All eight of them, in fact. Sean connery, roger moore, timothy dalton, and pierce brosnan. And in the 60s, George Lazenby and david niven. Not to forget the first bond in the 50s, barry nelson. He was in casino royale. So who is odds on to take Overfrom Daniel Craig . Is it that bloke from bridgerton . Marvel s Kung Fu Master . Or the man who played superman . But this bond has to survive a number of Plot Twists first. James, you dont know what this is. If he does finally find his way to the big screen, we will all find out. The names lobel, mark lobel, bbc news. Do you think that was an audition . Time for the weather with sarah. Good afternoon. The Weather Hasnt been changing over the next few days, and no changes over the next few days. Most of us have fairly overcast conditions out there, so quite a lot of Grey Cloud out there, some sunshine here and there particularly across scotland, Northern Ireland in northwest england, but over the next few days is looking pretty drowsy, some drizzle towards the east and some sunshine around northern and Western Parts of the uk. For the rest of the day for scotland and Northern Ireland ireland, some spells of sunshine here, cloutier conditions further south across england and wales, its a bit chilly for the likes of newcastle towards norwich, quite breezy through the English Channel too, but temperatures into the evening hours for most of us in the evening hours for most of us in the mid to high teens. Later this evening and overnight, we will continue to see that cloud across most areas filtering its way a little bit further westwards across parts of scotland, perhaps fringing and northern if you clear spells dipping down into single figures for a few spots in the northwest, but most of us overnight stay in double figures. Tomorrow similar to today, once again High Pressure still in charge, and a lot of clout around, more extensive cloud for Northern Ireland in southern scotland, but some holes in that cloud during the afternoon, lifting temperatures towards the northwest up to 22 23 c, cooler down the East Coast where we still have that breeze coming off the north sea. Heres the area of High Pressure thats been with us for quite a while, lots of cloud trapped underneath that area of High Pressure, so a little bit gloomy as we head through the day on friday, similar to thursday with cloud around for most areas. Some sunshine breaking through, perhaps more sunshine for southern england, and again for southern and western scotland, and Northern Ireland too. Still 1a18 c scotland, and Northern Ireland too. Still 1a 18 c down the East Coast, again the warmest weather out towards the west with highs of around 21 22 c. Into the weekend now, and High Pressure still not far away starting to slip off towards the east. So we will start to see low pressure approaching from the west, but it looks like that High Pressure in the east winds out. So perhaps a few showers particularly on sunday, some Western Parts of the uk, but most of us staying dry and things turning a little bit warmer too. Bye for now
