But it looks like, for the time Being, our area of High Pressure is going to continue to bring a lot of dry, settled but rather cloudy, dull weather with occasional drizzle particularly across eastern areas. Hello. August has come to a relatively quiet if rather cloudy end for most of us, and there are no real surprises in the forecast for the first few days of septemBer. More of the same with a lot of cloud, that cloud at times thick enough to produce some drizzle, but also, at times thinning out to give some spells of sunshine. Now, Thejet Stream at the moment is running way to the north of the uk. That is keeping that main rain Bearing weather systems well away from us, but it is not able to defend us from all of this cloud trapped underneath our area of High Pressure. Were drawing this cloud in from the north east, so most places starting Wednesday Morning on a dull and grey note, still the old spot of drizzle from the thickest of this cloud, but through the day we will see some breaks, especially, ithink, across parts of scotland, also a Better chance of seeing sunshine across the far south of england and the channel islands. In the Best of the sunshine, you could get to 21 degrees. It will Be cooler than that if you stick with cloud all day long. And as we head through Wednesday Night and into thursday, you can see this feed of cloud continues to work its way in. That cloud will Be low enough in places to give some Mist And Murk over the hills, some spots of drizzle and, for most of us underneath those cloudy skies, quite a mild start to thursday morning. As we head on into thursday, High Pressure is still going to Be with us. Now, it may Be that the centre of the high edges a little further eastwards by this stage, so that could break up The Cloud a little bit more effectively across parts of scotland and Northern Ireland especially, so a Better chance of seeing some more sunshine here. We could see some sunny spells elsewhere, but generally for england and wales, quite a lot of cloud once again, and temperatures typically in the high teens, mayBe up to 20 or 21 degrees. And very similar prospects to take us into friday. Some big areas of cloud, some bright or sunny spells. It is quite often tricky to pinpoint exactly where the breaks in The Cloud will Be in these weather situations, and in the sunniest spots, again, were looking at highs of around 21 degrees. But as we head into the weekend, things do start to change. High pressure starts to slip away towards scandinavia and low pressure is set to bring this frontal system in from the west. So the story for the weekend is for things to slowly but surely turn more unsettled, with the increasing chance of rain. Now, many of us are likely to Be dry throughout saturday. Again, there will Be quite a lot of cloud around, but notice, some showers just starting to develop down to the south. Also, a shift in wind direction. Winds coming up from the south or the South East by this stage, so it may feeljust a touch warmer, temperatures of 20 or 21 degrees, and then, for sunday, it looks like we will see this frontal system pushing in from the west. That will bring some outbreaks of rain, quite erratically north eastwards across the uk. Some sunny spells here and there and temperatures of 16 to 21 degrees. So, the weather does look a little more lively as we end the weekend, and we take that theme with us into next week, Because the jet stream, which right now is running well to the north of the uk, instead pushes right across the atlantic and in our direction, bringing weather systems our way, areas of low pressure likely to dominate the weather. High pressure may Be not too far away down to the south, so there are likely to Be some drier and possibly even brighter interludes next week, but there will also Be some spells of rain at times, and some of that rain could Be fairly heavy.
