One of those was 14 year old Makenzy Beard from swansea who decided to take up painting in her garden shed. Now 18 months on, her work is set to go on display at a prestigious Art Gallery in london. Ben price went to meet her. When schools closed in march 2020, makenzy decided to find a new hobby to occupy her time. Over the past year, she has produced more than a dozen portraits. We had paints and canvases and brushes in the shed, and i thought, why not give it a try . And itjust escalated from there, really.
