The government to keep some measures in place after the 19th Ofjuly when all covid restrictions are due to be removed. At least 2 bodies have been found and around 20 people remain missing injapan, after a landslide sent Mud Cascading down a hillside, Smashing Into Homes and sweeping away cars. Shes done it. Teenager Emma Raducanu becomes the youngest british woman to reach round four of wimbledon after beating romanian world no 45 Sorana Cirstea in straight sets. Its funny because at the beginning when i was packing to come into the bubble, my parents were like, arent you packing too many sets of Match Kit . I think im going to have to do some Laundry Tonight but i think they have a Laundry Service at the hotel so im all good, guys. And the Sexism Row in ukraine criticism as women Soldiers Parade in high heeled shoes. Good evening. Welcome to bbc news. In less than an hours time england will Kick Off against ukraine, hoping to reach their first semifinal in the mens European Championship for 25 years. Having knocked out germany at wembley earlier this week, the players are in rome for tonights match. England fans were urged not to travel to the ground because of covid restrictions. Our sports corrrespondent, natalie pirks, reports from rome. Its Coming Home. They may be small in numbers but they are big on confidence. Football is Coming Home, Come On. The fa released 2300 tickets back to uefa for anyone not based in england to buy and police increased patrols for any fans trying to sneak in without the mandatory five day quarantine. It meant those lucky enough to call this View Home got an unexpected chance to snap up tickets. Teacher maria has been a run for 23 years. In rome. It must be really devastating but us expats will do our best to scream and support the team. Fans flock to what they know when the football is on. At this Irish Bar we found Barry And Charlie who stay in spain. England based Fans Losses are there again. I have been at eight World Cups with england and seven European Championships and this is iour time. Brilliant. I follow england everywhere. Brilliant opportunity. Englands first match with ukraine was 21 years ago and featured two familiar faces. The two men who now manage their country. Since then they have played another six times and england have only lost once. There is no complacency here. If we focus on ourselves and make sure the mentality is right and we make sure the performances right we give ourselves a great opportunity of going through to the semifinal. On the streets of kyiv there are mixed feelings about facing england. Ukraine has very good high level players, with their personal skills they can create opportunities. England is a strong team but at the moment i think they are a bit scared and confused maybe they did not expect to play against ukraine. England is a very powerful team, they are all legends. Legend has it england are not very good at Penalty Shoot out. Englin win a World Cup penalty. Shoot out for the first time ever. But three years ago today they banished yet another unwanted record to reach the quarterfinals in russia. A Win Tonight would guarantee back to back tournament semifinals for the first time since the 60s. John watson joins us from rome. Good evening. Give us a sense of the atmosphere with less than an hour until Kick Off. It atmosphere with less than an hour until kickoff. Until kickoff. It was interesting actually because until kickoff. It was interesting actually because so until kickoff. It was interesting actually because so much until kickoff. It was interesting actually because so much talk. Until kickoff. It was interesting | actually because so much talk in until kickoff. It was interesting actually because so much talk in the lead up as been how few number of fans there will be, certainly England Fans inside the stadium but there was a huge roar when the england players came out on the pitch half an hour ago for a rematch walkabout. It was interesting because i think there will be an atmosphere in there and they are doing their bit to make their voices heard. It is different. Traditionally with a huge game like this, Quarter Final of a major tournament you would see England Fans mingling around the city but there has not been any of that in light of the covid restrictions and so many fans from the uk being told not to travel. Those fans who can be here, around 2000 England Fans who are living in italy or in europe who can get around the covid restrictions are doing their bit to make their voices heard and they will do everything to cheer england on later. Really interesting to hear Gareth Southgate say earlier, yes the conditions will be different, it is a lot hotter and thereafter your fans but those external factors are irrelevant in many ways because the team are very focused on getting the job done and they have been very professional in this tournament no doubt about that. Gareth southgate has got all the big decisions right. Interesting regarding team selection, he has been criticised for a defensive Line Up throughout the games, he starts Jadon Sancho who has impressed playing in germany, he gets his first start. So there is a slightly more attacking feel to the team that starts against ukraine later. Feel to the team that starts against ukraine later feel to the team that starts against ukraine later. Gareth southgate also said he thinks ukraine later. Gareth southgate also said he thinks playing ukraine later. Gareth southgate also said he thinks playing at ukraine later. Gareth southgate also said he thinks playing at the ukraine later. Gareth southgate also said he thinks playing at the Stadio L said he thinks playing at the Stadio 0limpico rather than wembley will be an advantage tonight, what do you think the key challenges will be for the team against ukraine . I think the key challenges will be for the team against ukraine . The team against ukraine . I think professionalism the team against ukraine . I think professionalism from the team against ukraine . I think professionalism from england, i the team against ukraine . I think. Professionalism from england, that is the key factor because as we know, after that impressive win over germany, very easy for england to get ahead of themselves. It would be a very English Thing to do i guess you could say. Brilliant to get past germany and then falling short against ukraine, who are the team that let us face it england should beat on the record, they have only lost once in seven matches against ukraine. It comes down to being professional, getting thejob ukraine. It comes down to being professional, getting the job done and maintaining yourfocus professional, getting the job done and maintaining your focus which professional, getting the job done and maintaining yourfocus which is something Gareth Southgate will have drilled into his players. It is interesting he said after the victory against germany, the players were already talking about the next match, they were already gearing up for that match. They themselves know they have to do a professionaljob because ukraine cant be underestimated. It is a game they will be expected to dominate, they will be expected to dominate, they will have a lot of Possession And England will award a controlled performance. They have been defensive so far, hard to beat but with the introduction of those two attacking players, Jayden Mount and jordan sancho, things might take a different tack. Jordan sancho, things might take a different tack. Jordan sancho, things might take a different tack. Now lets speak to our reporter Greg Mckenzie whos of the thames in london. The Supermarket Morrisons has agreed a Takeover Deal worth £6. 3 billion. The bid is from a new company backed by three private investment groups, including the american owner of majestic wine. Last month the chain rejected an offer of £5. 5 Billion from a different firm saying it significantly undervalued the business. Our Business Correspondent Katy austin has more. Morrisons has nearly 500 stores and employs about 110,000 staff in the uk. The Takeover Offer that has been agreed is led by the us private equity group fortress. Its bid is higher than one by a different firm which morrisons rejected last month. 0ne Stockbroker told me the supermarket is seen as an attractive prospect right now. The main issue is i think they will feel the price is too low and there is value to be had. The company is profitable its got very limited debt, it has got a good, popular business, its got a good Business Model and the shares have done very little for the last five years, so i think they will genuinely think they are getting a bargain. So, would a Takeover Lead to any noticeable changes . Morrisons owns most of its stores. Would fortress perhaps look to sell some and lease them back . Well, Fortress Has said it doesnt anticipate doing that it. Its understood this and other commitments, for example on pay, were significant factors in the supermarket s board recommending the offer. Fortresses is really going out of its way to emphasise a different approach from private equity, a long Term Backing for the existing strategy to reassure the market and to reassure customers and colleagues that basically this doesnt mean a lot of change. It really doesnt. Morrisons shareholders will eventually have the final say on the takeover bid. The competitive Grocery Sector is changing. The pandemic sped up the shift to online shopping and delivery. Some investors clearly feel there are potentially lucrative opportunities to be had. Katy austin, bbc news. A mans been charged with the murder of a 60 year old who died after being stabbed at oxford circus, in london, on thursday evening. The suspect has been named as Tedi Fanta hagos whos 25 and from swansea. Two more people have been found dead in the wreckage of a building that collapsed in miami more than a Week Building ago. Officials say 21 people are confirmed to have died, with 124 people still missing. A Rescue Operation has been underway at the Surfside Apartment Complex since the collapse on the 24th ofjune. At least two people are reported to have died and another 20 or more are missing after a huge mudslide swept through a Hillside Resort in centraljapan. Thered been heavy rainfall in the area in the last few days and Flood And Landslide warnings were in effect. The Japanese Army has been called in to help with the search and Rescue Operation. The city is southwest of tokyo in Shizuoka Prefecture where Mud Cascaded down a hillside, smashing into buildings and washing away cars. Sodaba hadaire reports. This is the aftermath of the mudslide in the city of atami. Knocking down and crushing homes and sweeping away cars. Officials say the mudslide struck at 10 30am local time, leaving thousands of houses without power. Atami is known for its Hot Springs and holiday resorts. It is in the same region as the famous mount fuji, which usually attracts over A Million visitors every year. But there are fears tourism, already affected by the coronavirus pandemic, could be further impacted. Atami is a favourite place not even for people from shizuoka but people from Tokyo And Kanagawa and chiba, in the tokyo area. So basically, it is going to give out a lot of Negative Connotation and fear, which means that psychological negativity will bear possibly a further hit on the already burdened Tourist Industry in the eastern part of shizuoka which is in atami. The region has seen heavy rains and flooding since friday. Japans Prime Minister is putting together an Emergency Task Force while Rescue Workers on the ground are still searching for the missing. Residents in parts of three prefectures, shizuoka, kanagawa and chiba, have been ordered to evacuate following warnings of further flooding in low lying areas. Japan is prone to mudslides and flooding during its annual rainy season, but the heavy rainfall is getting more intense and destructive each year, which has been linked to climate change. Dozens of people were killed in flooding in july last year, with more than 200 dying in 2018 when parts of Western Japan were inundated by bad weather. Sodaba hadaire, bbc news. Doctors are calling on the government to keep some coronavirus measures in place in england after the 19th Ofjuly when the final stage of Lifting Restrictions is due to happen. The British Medical Association says face coverings and improved ventilation should continue. The Prime Minister has said he hopes the country will be able to return to something close to pre Pandemic Life later this month, but extra precautions might be needed. Naomi grimley reports. What will our lives look like by The End of this month . Some ministers have hinted there could be a sweeping away of the regulations weve got so used to. 0ne even suggested masks might become optional afterjuly the 19th. But today doctors warned that wouldnt be wise with infections rising. Dont give people false assurances or hopes that life will be back to normal. Do the responsible thing which is to continue to have targeted measures to stop the spread of this infection, or prevent the spread of this infection, with a parallel Vaccination Programme so that we can probably get to a point in the not too distant future where we are bringing those Infection Rates down. This comes as Ministers Debate allowing fully jabbed people to avoid isolation if they come into contact with an infectious person and instead do daily testing. Downing street says it is under active consideration and some doctors think it might work, but only if people are disciplined. Although the lateral flow tests, the rapid tests you do yourself at home, are by no means as accurate as the Pcr Tests that you have done either by post and sent to the lab or the one you go into the centre for, theyre not as accurate for telling if you are infected. But they are really pretty good at telling if you are infectious. And the Rhythm Of Life is a powerful beat, puts a Tingle in yourfingers and a Tingle in yourfeet. This star studded video has been released ahead of the 73rd birthday of the nhs this weekend. Any changes to covid restrictions remain dependent on how well our Health System can cope this summer. Naomi grimley, bbc news. Lets look now at the latest data on coronavirus. 18 deaths have been reported and 24,885 new infections were recorded across the uk in the past 24 hours. There were on average 23,470 new cases a day in the past week. More than 122,000 people received a first dose of the vaccine over 45 Million people have now had their firstjab 85. 7 per cent of uk adults. 0ver 160,000 people have had their second jab in the latest 24 hour period. It means more than 33. 4 million people are now fully vaccinated 63. 4 per cent of adults. Ukraines Defence Ministry has come in for criticism for asking its female soldiers to march in high heels. The country is preparing to stage a Military Parade next month to mark 30 years of independence following the collapse of the soviet union. Its plan to ask some female soldiers to parade in heels rather than boots has been labelled as sexist and a group of lawmakers is calling on the Defence Minister to apologise. People could be facing the prospect of empty Supermarket Shelves and Price Hikes because of a shortage of lorry drivers. Thats the warning from Uk Industry bosses, who say more than 60,000 workers are needed to keep goods moving. Our business correspondent, dave harvey, reports. Its food on the shelves, its drinks on the shelves, and its builders merchants being full. Thats really what it is. If were not delivering product, the shops wont be full, and that will have a massive impact on the uk. In many ways, trucks like these are meant to be the lifeblood of our economy. They keep everything moving. Right now, theyre parked up and going nowhere. Not that theres a shortage of companies with stuff to move, or indeed, at 150 grand for a cab and a trailer, any shortage of trucks themselves. Theyjust cant find enough drivers. One in ten of this somerset firms lorries are parked up at the moment, costing thousands every day. The industry calculates britain is short of 60,000 lorry drivers. 15,000 are European Drivers who left the country in the last year. Through the pandemic a lot of drivers wanted to go home to be closer to their families, and they really, since the effects of brexit, they havent wanted to come back. They can earnjust as much in places like germany or france, theres no real need to be in the uk. On top of that, during the pandemic, many new drivers couldnt take their hgv licence test. 30,000 tests were delayed last year. At this family owned Haulage Firm near bristol, the boss is out when i arrive, back behind the wheel. And if it wasnt for me doing the Interview Today Id be driving myself, because it has become the case, mainly, were both driving weekly. Competition for drivers is fierce, supermarkets paying double rates to keep their trucks moving. And small firms like this have had to put their wages up, too. As of 1st Ofjune this year, we had to give our drivers, across the board, about a 25 pay increase, which if you think about it, thats a lot of money. We are retaining our drivers and bringing new employees to the company, but we had to make a decision now that weve had to pass that cost, or certainly The Drivers wages element, to our customers, to be able to carry this forward. In time, this will all put up prices in our shops. They want government to fund new apprenticeships and training schemes, and ministers insist they are working on that. But it takes several years to learn to drive a big wagon, and britain Needs Tens Of Thousands more drivers right now. Dave harvey, bbc news. When schools first closed to help prevent the spread of coronavirus last year it left many students with some spare time on their hands, between online lessons. One of those was 14 year old Makenzy Beard from swansea who decided to take up painting in her garden shed. Now 18 months on, her work is set to go on display at a prestigious Art Gallery in london. Ben price went to meet her. When schools closed in march 2020, makenzy decided to find a new hobby to occupy her time. Over the past year she has produced more than a dozen portraits. We had paints and canvases and brushes in the shed, and i thought, why not give it a try . And itjust escalated from there, really. One of her favourite subjects to paint is her neighbour, john tucker, a farmer on the gower peninsula. Having photographed him at work, mackenzy spent three weeks carefully crafting his image. I was standing in the yard, ijust brought some Hay Nets down, and she just stopped me and asked me if she could take a photograph. I didnt expect what i did see at The End. It was absolutely brilliant. Shes a very talented young lady, really. Hes just got a really lovely, kind and friendly demeanour, and i thought that hes local, he is totally unrelated to covid, he just goes about his business every day. And i thought he would just be a wonderful person to paint and a really nice essence to capture. So i was doing five minutes before school, an hour afterwards before sport, it was all broken down. I never spent any long, extended periods of time doing it. I reckon in total i probably spent 20 hours. Makenzy entered her first Art Competition with this portrait, and it clearly impressed. Next it will be exhibited at young Artists Summer Show at the Royal Academy Of Arts during july and august. That will be really exciting, and to have judges look at it, and other artists, shows that its appreciation from another Artists Perspective and not just family and friends. With much of her time now spread between schoolwork and playing hockey for wales, makenzy says shes unsure what the future may hold, but she hopes art and being creative will be a part of it. Ben price, bbc news. Incredibly talented, isnt she. Now lets speak to our reporter Greg Mckenzie whos at a bar with England Fans in borough just south of the thames in london. Hello there.
