Arguably, the best of it was across scotland and nortHern england, although parts of the South West of england, glorious, as well. Sunny skies tHere in cornwall. Most had a dry day, yes, but tHere were just a few showers that popped up, one or two in wales, one or two in the South West midlands and a few working into soutHern areas of england. Now looking at the Her-picture'>WeatHer Picture just a little bit furtHer South West, the Satellite Picture picks up this curl of cloud. Its an area of low pressure. Its not coming in for friday. Bit of cloud, a few Mist And Fog patches early on. Sunny spells then develop. But into the afternoon, again, were going to see showers develop. Now the showers are going to be a little bit more widespread, some of them heavy and thundery, unlike those weve seen over recent days. Now, but greatest chance of seeing the downpours will be across eastern areas of england as we go through the course of the afternoon. Top temperatures about 23 degrees. Now this weekend, that area of cloud i showed you on the Satellite Picture a moment ago, well, thats going to be bringing some heavy downpours followed by widespread showers. The first batch of rain will be pushing northwards quite quickly during saturday morning, across england and wales. NortHern ireland turning wet. Scotland seeing the rain in the afternoon, but, behind that feature, well see showers following in. Now the showers, for the most part, will tend to move through with some bright skies between, but, wHere the winds converge across parts of South West england, we may well see a line of slow moving thunderstorms form. They could bring some heavier rain, maybe even bringing some localised surface water flooding. So thats one area to watch for. Given that tHeres more cloud around and more shower activity, temperatures will be just coming down by a degree or two, but still not bad in the sunny spells. On into sundays forecast, anotHer unsettled kind of day. Sunshine and widespread showers, those showers will be turning thundery in places as well. NowHeres immune from catching a downpour, but it wont be raining all weekend. THere will be some drier moments between this whole rash of showers. Top temperatures about 19,20 degrees or so. A little bit cool for the time of year, but again, not bad in those brighter moments. Into next week, well, low pressure is going to be coming in off the atlantic. This is going to be bringing us more wet and, at times, fairly windy weatHer through monday and tuesday now tHeres a fairly decent Model Certainty about this so it does look like itll be pretty wet at times. Notice how the rain will be pushing furtHer northwards into parts of scotland as well. Some sunny spells following before the next batch of rain works in from the South West later in the day and overnight as well. So tuesday, anotHer unsettled one. Outbreaks of rain, still quite windy as well, particularly around coasts and hills in the south and west. Potentially the far north of scotland seeing some cooler, showery conditions, but perhaps the worst of the rain staying away from Here, but for most of us it does look very unsettled. Now, beyond that, furtHer into the week ahead, the jet stream pattern, well, weve still got a trough over the uk, so were expecting it to stay unsettled really a mixture of sunshine and showers. Then we start to see this upper ridge moving into the North West. That may well settle the weatHer down from the North West as we head deeper into the week ahead, but tHeres a lot of uncertainty about that.
