Uk prime Minister Borisjohnson says there is a Lot Of Misunderstanding from the eu about northern Ireland Trade as tensions over the Issue Hang over his talks with fellow european leaders. Meanwhile, the us president s focus will be on forming an alliance of countries to combat the influence of china. Hello and welcome to bbc news. Lets start with our Breaking News Christian Eriksen is awake and in a stable condition in hospital after his collapse during the match between Denmark And Finland at the European Championship in copenhagen. The match is now underway at the request made by players of both teams after earlier being suspended. Our Sports Correspondent, natalie pirks, reports. Christian eriksen is the talisman of the denmark national team, butjust before half time, without a player around him, he staggered to the ground and collapsed. Team mates immediately recognised how serious it was, forming a protective ring around him as medics rushed onto the pitch. Fans could only look on in horror as doctors attempted to resuscitate the midfielder. His Team Mates could barely look as they hope to would be ok. The game was rightly postponed. Back in the bbc studio, former players were understandably emotional. I think football totally goes out of the window right now, and you are thinking about his family, all the rest of the players that are out there witnessing it as well. I actuallyjust got on my phone i messaged my mum and told her i love her. And i think its a reminder of how quickly Life can change. The latest update from uefa is that eriksen has been transferred to hospital and has been stabilised. The news from the Danish Fa that he is awake as the news all Football Fans wanted to hear. Natalie pirks, bbc news. Lets speak to our Sports Correspondent John Watson at wembley. What is the latest on his condition . We understand he is stable and will remain in hospitalforfurther examination, but for the news that he was a stable came through not long after arriving at hospital after what was desperate scenes on the pitch in copenhagen. The good news obviously that he is stable, but it was obviously hugely concerning what we saw unfold at the time. You can only imagine what his Loved Ones were bailing after he collapsed on the pitch not long before her in that Much. The circle was formed around him by his Team Mates, we saw his partner on the sidelines being consoled by the danish Captain And Kasper schmeichel as well be Leicester City goalkeeper, huge concern at that stage. We under understand that one was conscious as he left the stadium and when he was at hospital he was able to speak to his Team Mates and tell that it that he was ok and that is why the request came from them, from the players for the mixed resume which it has done in copenhagen. It kicked off at half past seven and resumed at her post seven. They played, four minutes remaining of the first half, there was a five Minute Break at that time and they emerged again for the second have to pace finland. An amazing reception from the danish supporters who were inside the stadium having seen what had unfolded. They created the danish and finnish players with a Standing Ovation as they returned to the pitch. I think huge relief after what they had seen unfold. Huge concern for Christian Eriksen at the time, but thankfully as we understand it, he is ok and then a stable condition in hospital. I think far too early to speculate what this could potentially mean for Christian Eriksens long term career. We of course remember that it was Fabrice Muamba who collapsed on the field of play on the pitch when he was playing for Bolton Wanderers against tottenham. But unfortunately led to him ending his playing career. He has since gone on to campaignfor playing career. He has since gone on to campaign for improvements to be made with further Heart Screenings of players. You just wonder whether or not this could unfortunately play out is over Christian Eriksen, whether or not he will be able to return to playing football we dont know, too early at this stage is regulated but obviously huge relief at this stage that Christian Eriksen is stable and is comfortable in hospital at the moment. We can speak now to the danish footballjournalist klaus egelund. Thank you forjoining us here on bbc news. First off, any more under what we havejust heard news. I have been in touch with senior officials from the danish clubs who are shocked about the Much going on, but the official line is that christian was in touch with the squad and he asked the squad to resume the match. As long as we hear nothing to contradict that, that storyline, it seems from my Perspective Wrong to resume the match. I cant see any sporting justification, i cant really see how the players can be in the right frame of mind. With the change of the Tomorrow'>Resume Tomorrow . It is hard to say. This is a finals, so obviously they have to play a lot of matches and a short period of time, but it definitelyjeopardises and a short period of time, but it definitely jeopardises any Preparation Denmark have been doing and there is really no real importance to this match from a dennis prospective at this point, but if the players wanted to play, it is right to say they want to resume the Much. Lets get some other news now, and today is the second day of the G7 Summit a meeting of the worlds seven largest established advanced economies. Christian fraser is there for us. Barbecue on the Basis Evening which has been well earned by the Leaders Today because it has really been a long day. Six hours of discussions, three sessions, they have been talking about china, Foreign Policy, security, also talking about the Pandemic Recovery and signing a Carbis Bay declaration, like a global Surveillance System to spot viruses in the future, to come up with vaccines to tackle them and also to help with the Genomic Sequencing of viruses so that they can identify them before they spread more widely. The Focus Tonight on the cameras has been On The Beach where the barbecue is taking place and the Red Arrows have been putting on an incredible performance for the leaders who are gathered there. It has been going on for probably around five or six minutes. Lets speak to our Correspondent Nomia Iqbal in Carbis Bay. Yeah overseeing the Beach And Display that is under way. Pretty spectacular. Are you there . I know that the Camera Position of nomia is fixed on the Red Arrows that are up there at the moment so maybe she cant hear me but with me is James Landale our diplomatic editor who has been watching the show here. Be the occasion where the personal relationships moved a step further forward, where various leaders can have the odd conversation on the sidelines albeit with others around, and they are not going to negotiate nuts and bolts but they can just move the relationships to another place. If you remember not all these leaders, we assume they all know each other, some of them dont, some of them have been around for a long time, others you such as the japanese by and so these are all about relationships and building up and do certain in Doosras Chips have been on hold for the last 18 months. Yes, there are acres, the library is a phd is arguing about personal politics against structural politics and for the Personalities Matter or not but in terms of these negotiations and discussions that happened, personality does matter, and this is an occasion to deepen those relationships. Ultimately though, the test of the summit will not beat the pretty pictures we are seeing this evening at the barbecues and the Red Arrows and the royal family, the test will be what are they actually deciding to fix the pandemic now, to change the lives of hundreds of thousands of people who are suffering deeply at the time of huge inequality compared to wealthy countries such as the united kingdom that have extraordinary vaccination rates compared to others. What does it say on Climate Change . On the road towards the big summit that. What will they announce not just on climate emissions but how Much money they will give to the poor and developing countries to adapt to the Climate Change they say is nothing to do with them because their economies havent been industrialising, they havent been producing all of these carbon emissions. Ruth valerio is an environmentalist, Theologian And Director of global advocacy at Disaster Relief and Development Charity Tea rfund. She told me what she wants the g7 leaders to conclude. We want to see. 7 being put back again by the uk government. 7 of gdp . 7 of gdp, which is our Aid Budget, going towards some of the poorest communities in the world. Weve been hearing that as that money is cut, fewer girls are going to school, more vaccines are sitting on shelves that arent being delivered, other Health Services arent able to happen. Boris johnson wants to be seen as a global leader. This is an absolutely crucial year for so many issues. Thats not going to happen if he is a man who breaks his promises above all breaks his promises to some of the most marginalised communities in the world. But wouldnt he say, look, when we made this commitment in the manifesto we werent facing a pandemic, weve run up an awful amount of debt. Last week, british viewers would say, we couldnt afford to put 10 Billion into schools to help our students get up to speed. So should we be spending that sort of money on people overseas . Well, yesterday i heard Boris Johnson talking very positively about our economy and about the economy bouncing back, and the Aid Cuts have come at a time when others are facing a double whammy of covid and of climate, so now is not the time for us to be turning our backs on our global neighbours. There is also £450 million of new money, we are told, thats going towards childrens education. Is that welcome . Is that outside the. 5 that the international Aid Budget now is . Well, its new money but lets put that in the context of the cut, which is the equivalent of about 5 billion. So it might be a little bit of new money here, but then you have a huge amount of Aid Cut so its a drop in the ocean and really doesnt mean anything. Lets talk about Climate Change because, of course, this does affect the poorest communities. There are 47 of the poorest nations Around The World who were promised £100 billion. I think at the paris climate agreement. Earlier. A lot earlier. And still we are trying to get up to that mark, which is where the cynicism comes from at summits like this. Yeah, thats right. The Finance Ministers last week recommitted to delivering that 100 billion, but lets remember, that was committed in 2009 and it still hasnt been delivered. So this weekend, we need to see a plan for it to be delivered quickly, but then we mustnt stop and think that weve done it, because that should have been done years ago. We now need to be focusing on what other money we can release in order to support lower and middle income countries as they face the brunt of the climate crisis. But we were talking to someone here from the eden project, tim smit, earlier. He said we really did see common purpose and a real focus on Climate Change at last Nights Dinner at the eden project. Do you recognise, actually, that the uk is actually leading from the front on this now. I think we are about to get a new Green Initiative, a new framework for investment in developing countries. Is it time for other g7 countries to follow the uks example . Yeah, im really encouraged to hear that from tim smit. And earlier this year the uk ended their financing of overseas Fossil Fuels a brilliant example that we now need to see the other 67 nations following that lead and also ending their support to overseas Fossil Fuels projects. But then, domestically, we need to be working towards a green recovery that helps us Develop Societies that are sustainable and resilient and green, and one of the key parts of that is shifting away from our Fossil Fuel Funding onto clean energy. Now, our countries have been talking a brilliant rhetoric about green Recovery And Building back better, but a recent report from tearfund showed that over the course of the pandemic the 67 nations have pumped 189 Billion into Fossil Fuels, as opposed to 147 Billion into green energy. So we have the rhetoric and then we have the reality. Over this weekend, we want to see some clear plans that will get us towards building, using the economic Recovery Package is to get us onto a green recovery. There are lots of groups around the g7 this week who want their say. Just behind me, you might see some paddle canoes, they are from Ocean Rebellion they want action on the ocean.
