On ambulance staff. A four Day Bank Holiday Weekend Nextjune for the Queens Platinumjubilee Shell be celebrating seven decades on the throne. And Ollie Robinson takes two wickets on his England Debut in front of more than 7,000 fans on Day One of the first test against New Zealand at lords the Health Secretary Matt hancock has announced that three quarters of adults in the uk have now received a first dose of a covid vaccine. In a speech at Thejenner Institute in oxford he praised the work of scientists in Helping Britain out of the pandemic. He also confirmed that the government is negotiating with Pharmaceutical Giant Astrazeneca over a so called Variant Vaccine that can deal with the strain of the virus first identified in south africa. Heres what Mr Hancock had to say about the number of first dose vaccinations. I am very proud that we were able to deploy the first ever clinically approved covid 19 vaccine here in this country and delivered 60 Million doses of three different vaccines into 39 Million arms as of midnight last night, i can confirm that we now have given a first dose of vaccine to three quarters of the Adult Population of the united kingdom. Meanwhile one Government Adviser has said uks latest Coronavirus Data looks encouraging, amid continuing debate over whether to end all remaining restrictions in england on the 21st ofjune. Weekly figures this morning from the Office For National Statistics show the lowest proportion of Virus Related Deaths in england and wales for eight months. Lets take a closer look at todays figures. There were 12 deaths within 28 days of a positive covid test. 4,330 new cases were recorded. And 39,585,665 people have received their first vaccine dose. That is 75. 2 of the Adult Population this lunchtime the Prime Minister was asked about whether the signs are that the final step of Unwinding Restrictions in england can go ahead on 21stjune. Lets listen to what he said. Ican i can see nothing in the data at the moment that means we cannot go ahead with step four and all of the opening on that date, but weve got to be so cautious because theres no question the 0ns Data and Router Infection rates is showing an increase. We always knew that was going to happen. Dont forget, we always said that the unlocking steps that we have taken would lead to increases in infection. What we need to work out is to what extent the Vaccination Programme haS Protected enough of us, particularly the elderly and vulnerable against a new surge. And there, im afraid to come isjust still ambiguous. SirJohn Bell, Regius Professor of medicine at the university oxford, has also been urging people to get vaccinated. He says early data suggests our Vaccines D0 Work against the new variants. We do know quite a bit about the vaccines and their utility against the virus, and particularly against this and other variant strains of the virus, and it looks like this vaccine is likely to work pretty well. The basic immunology suggests it will, particularly after two doses, and some of the early clinical data suggests that thatS Probably the case. Although you are right, not all the population in the country, Adult Population has had two doses of vaccine, a lot of the people who are in the vulnerable age groups, thats sort of the older than 50 age group, a lot of those people have had to vaccines, and i think one has to be crystal clear about what you are trying to achieve here, and i think the purpose of the Vaccine Programme at the moment is to stop people from getting sick and being admitted to hospital and dying. Rather than stopping widespread transmission. This is a highly infectious virus, transmissions are clearly going up, there are many more people being infected. The real question is does that peel into more Hospital Admissions and people in Intensive Care Units and ultimately deaths, and that, i think is the judgement that has to be made in the next week or two. Our Health Correspondent Naomi Grimley is here. Lets just pick up on what he was saying, because he was also saying today that the data iS Pretty encouraging in terms of Lifting Restrictions on june encouraging in terms of Lifting Restrictions onjune the 21st and said we should not disappear down a Rabbit Hole every time there is a new variant, in other words we should not panic. Peace may be suggesting that we should go ahead with the in england. 0ther with the in england. Other scientists may be saying delay. I5 scientists may be saying delay. Is very clearly hotly debated topic at the moment amongst a virologist and epidemiologists, and his opinion matters because he is one of the main experts that has been at the forefront of this crisis. His argument is essentially you have to be more pragmatic about that, we are now living with this virus whether we like it or not. Its going to be in circulation, its going to move from being a pandemic to being an endemic in the population. His argument is that unless those hospitalisations and deaths are noticeably going up, he thinks theres an argument that we should try and get on with normal life. 0thers argue we are in the foothills of another Wave. find others argue we are in the foothills of another Wave. Of another Wave. And astrazeneca, which is the of another Wave. And astrazeneca, which is the partner of another Wave. And astrazeneca, which is the Partner Company of another Wave. And astrazeneca, which is the Partner Company that l which is the Partner Company that 0xford which is the Partner Company that oxford and John Bell have been working with on the vaccine, they are now negotiating with the government about a Variant Vaccine that can, we are told potentially deal with the South African Variant and others as well may be, thats an important Development Isnt it . Weve heard a lot about the india variant, but the one scientists always feared the most was the one first identified in south africa. The World Health Organization wants us to call the beta variant, but its the one that has eroded the Vaccine Immunity Demo so far. So it is really interesting that the Uk Government has both been finding these trials with Oxford Astrazeneca to tweak the vaccine to bring it up to tweak the vaccine to bring it up to date to account for that, and also a sign that they are going into commercial negotiations with them. They still anticipate using the vaccine, the Astrazeneca Vaccine as the main workhorse of the uk Vaccination Programme. And of course that will be relevant only get into autumn and giving booster shots. find Autumn and giving booster shots. And ust the autumn and giving booster shots. And just the Vaccine Roll out continuing apace, 75 as Matt Hancock such today of Uk Adults with the first dose. , today of Uk Adults with the first dose. ,. ,. , dose. That amounts to ust under 40 Million people. H dose. That amounts to ust under 40 Million people, and dose. That amounts to just under 40 Million people, and its dose. That amounts to just under 40 Million people, and itS Pretty million people, and itS Pretty extraordinary. As he said in his speech, its notjust about betting the right horses when it comes to vaccines, also about the fact that british public were very willing to take the vaccine in the first place. And i do a lot of looking comparatively across the world at different countries and that is not always the case. The stone off a lot of Vaccine Hesitancy in the world, particularly in poorer countries and Sub Saharan Africa which is going to cause problems. Thats another reason why Sirjohn Bell says we need to focus on dealing with this in a more global sort of frame of mind to make sure the rest of the world its vaccinated. World its vaccinated. Thank you very much world its vaccinated. Thank you very much indeed, world its vaccinated. Thank you very much indeed, naomi world its vaccinated. Thank you very much indeed, Naomi Therej World its vaccinated. Thank you very much indeed, naomi there our Health Correspondent. The Prime Minister has defended a Cash Injection for Catch Up learning in schools in england and confirmed this lunchtime there will be more money later, in addition to the one point £4 Billion announced this morning. That amount has been condemned as a damp squib by teachers leaders. Labour also says the plans dont go far enough. Our Education Correspondent Elaine Dunkley reports. This is our reception children here. Theres all sorts going on. This is Ash Green Community primary in halifax. How are we doing . Some of the children have missed nearly a year of in school learning. Were re going over things that they did in reception and in year one. So, simple things like holding your pencil correctly. The past few months have been about catching up in the classroom. Yes, its my handwriting, because i hadnt done that much since lockdown, and its gone a bit different since. Ive been at home i for such a long time, and ive got quite used to being at home. And when you came back to school, i bet you were a bit tired, werent you, doing all these activities . Yeah. Tell me what that was like . Yeah, as soon as i went home, i waS Pretty much asleep. Some of the children are struggling with concentration and confidence. They now work in smaller groups, so teachers can identify any issues. A lot of them stopped believing in themselves. Theyve not had the basic skills that they need. For example, my class in year three, theyve not had the year two knowledge that they need to succeed in year three. There are lots of additional activities to help children learn and play, but there are even bigger challenges. Its important that when you go home, you feel relaxed and comfortable, and that they can talk to you, you can talk to them. Yeah . The school has a full time social worker. Since children started returning to the classroom, his caseload has doubled. The children are coming in and theyre disclosing arguments, fights, parents, carers, physical abusing them, emotionally abusing them. Its the second morning that she l said she had no tea last night. I this school says it needs more money for an additional social worker. Today, the government in england has announced £1. 4 Billion for tuition and training. Teaching unions say the money is well below the amount needed for children to Catch Up. The Department For Education says its doing its best in difficult times to stop the most disadvantaged children falling further behind. I didnt and i dont think the Prime Minister or the chancellor did either, wanted to be in a situation where we were waiting for a comprehensive Spending Review to get money out of the door in order to be able to have a positive impact in terms of childrens lives. Labour has criticised the funding and says young people must be the priority. Children cant learn well if they are worried, if they are anxious, if they are not having time to play and develop, so we are also suggesting support for extracurricular activities, play, drama, art and so on, and of course in putting in mental Health Support in schools so that if children are struggling a little with their Well Being, there is someone on hand to help them. This headteacher says schools need to be given more funding and the flexibility to decide how to spend it. If you dont put thatl time in to think, 0k, i want that child to be brilliant in maths, but before i do, ive got to make sure his family are ok,. Ive got to make sure that Hes 0k emotionally, if you dont see all of that, then youre not. Going to get anywhere with these children. I what youre going to end up with iS People who, at The End of it, are going to say, do you know what . Did we actually give the best for these children . Well, we did the best that we could do with the means that we had, but the means we had werent enough. I the Education Policy Institute estimates that todays announcement equates to £310 per pupil in england. It calculates wales has announced a similar amount and existing funding for scotland and Northern Ireland is £200 per pupil. 51. What would 51 divided by 100 be . Catching up wont be quick or easy. For schools like this one, at the heart of a community, there is a long road to recovery. Elaine dunkley, Bbc News, in halifax. Lets speak now with the leader of the Ascl Head teachers union, geoff barton. Thanks very much for being with us. £1. 4 Billion, the Education Secretary says that the hefty amount of money. That was going to cost £15 billion i m not sure we should be hanging out the bunting that the Education Secretary has managed to secure from the treasury 10 of what the person they appointed to present a Recovery Plan waS Proposing only 24 hours ago. But borisjohnson has said there will waS Proposing only 24 hours ago. But Boris Johnson has said there will be borisjohnson has said there will be more money coming through and a nod towards this Penny Review later on in the year and this 1. 4 Billion is on top of 1. 7 billion, so actually if you total that up if more than 3 Billion already and there s more to come, says the Prime Minister. I heard him saying that and i know that s not the example of keeping it an issue into the long grass but they are saying it s just over a year since he were saying we are going to have a World Beating Recovery Plan and everything was going to be World Beating in those days, why are we still waiting to see with that plan is finally going to deliver . And just referencing which are correspondent said there, this amounts to £310 per people in england. If you have a look at what is happening in the usa they are proposing £1600 per pupil and in the netherlands 2500. I think it would not be a bad questionable to the Prime Minister saying what about those children in the netherlands in usa that makes them worth more in terms of an investment in education and why can we not do the england . Can we not stop the words about it and get some sense of action about it. ,. ,. , and get some sense of action about it. , and get some sense of action about it. Iie Starting Point recommendations and ideas . Tie Starting Point is one thats not a Starting Point is one that s not a recommendation, it comes from the Education Endowment and the recovery commissioner. And it says that the number one ingredient is high Quality Teaching and teachers actually allowed to focus on assessing those young people because of course the case has been that you cannot say this class has followed behind more than that class within a particular class. Sitting next to each other you will have children pretty much ok because they have beenin pretty much ok because they have been in this and a place to work at people that talk to them, and others that have fallen way behind. His skill of the teacher is to assess what s needed now for that young person to put that in place in the classroom. What Sir Kevin collins was recommending is that around that you would be able to give additional support which might be the tutoring but frankly it s notjust support which might be the tutoring but frankly it s not just about tutoring which we have heard from that school, it s about support for those young people whether that social care in some cases, whether it is something most of us think is a really important ingredient in the English Education system, more Adjectives Access to the arts all that kind of thing and build your Character And Resilience and that s with being proposed in the throat with being proposed in the throat with the kind of education because consider Prime Minister had and why is that not good enough for every child irrespective of their background . And to say should we not be extending the School Day . I think that s a debate we should have having and that should not be catered to the long grass and provided just the resources to bring those additional members of staff and to be able to help those children. I think parents will be looking on today saying after all that rhetoric we have heard from the government when are we really going to see Leveling Up on the future generation . More than 75 of Uk Adults have had at least one dose of a covid vaccine, less than six months after the rollout started. There is nothing in the data at the moment to suggest the next lifting of Lockdown Restrictions cannot go ahead, according to the Prime Minister. pres from the snp 05 let s talk to Kirsten Oswald , Deputy Leader Of The Snp In Westminster if the Prime Minister is saying there s nothing in the day that means we don t have to change the road map, why is Nicola Sturgeon saying in scotland it has to be put on pause . The progress that we are making is great and i think that everybody in scotland is very happy to see us moving through the stages that we have in place here. But i think that also that ability to pause and see, hold on, let s give this a little bit more time, because this a little bit more time, because this is always a moving situation with Covid And Commotion of this by now and i really welcome that the government is being measured and sensible and we have seen what can happen and what has happened when things have moved too fast in the past and that has caused difficulty. I have no doubt that we will get there but from the Point Of View of being on the ground here i m really pleased at that sensible magnetic approach that is being taken. find Approach that is being taken. Of course also if he fails to meet this Midnight Deadline that made it will go to the problem and they will have three weeks to come up with a new Prime Ministerial candidate that a majority of lawmakers would agree on and if that does not happen then the country goes back to the polls. And Mr Netanyahu would remain as caretaker Prime Minister through that period, so it s too soon to say that period, so it s too soon to say that we are going to come to The End of Mr NetanyahuS Rain anytime soon. The scottish Qualifications Authority has asked schools and colleges to take down Social Media posts, which some pupils appear to have been using to share confidential assessment material. Bbc scotland has seen evidence that more than 6,000 pupils have been using a website to cheat in the assessments, which are replacing exams this year. Our Scotland Correspondent James Shawjoins Me now with more on this. Just give us more details on this stop you what we know is that these scottish Qualifications Authority, and that s the body in scotland in charge of overseeing exams for Seniors School pupils, they have sent this message to schools and colleges saying that they should ensure that these posts should be removed and the post it seems include details of confidential material, so Exam Papers and in some cases the answers to exam questions. Which it seemS People had been posting online. In particular one website called anti sqa, it seems has the details on it. And it seems that six and a half thousand pupils have used this one particular website and you have to assume that the possibility is there that they have been cheating. Using that material to cheat the assessments and given it by individual schools. These assessments have replaced formal exams which has not been possible to hold because of the pandemic. Now it says it takes the situation very seriously but also points out that a lot of assessments have happened already. That response was really not enough for the conservative spokesman in the scottish parliament. He said that the sqa was being naive, that it was being complacent and incompetent in that response. He said this material was available on an industrial scale on the internet, and i think the Big Question is really hanging over the Exam Season this year is how much credibility it will have in scotland. And this does raise that as an issue, and it probably is not going to be resolved until the sqa finally confirms the results in august and perhaps also appeals by pupils which will be made directly to the sqa this year and to all of those appeals against results have been dealt with. Now it has been another glorious day. I see how much longer the sun now it s time for a look at the weather with ben rich. It s the warmest day of the year so far. Not for The First Time this week. In a speech at Thejenner Institute, in oxford, he praised the work of scientists in Helping Britain out of the pandemic. He also confirmed that the government is negotiating with pharmaceutical giant, astrazeneca, giant, astrazeneca, over a so called Variant Vaccine that can deal with the strain of the virus first identified in south africa. You have to look at at the other way around, because it is still a Class Quarter empty, there are still mounds of people who have not received the vaccine or had the infection either. It s been revealed that around 200,000 women have been underpaid in their state pensions, because of an error at the Department For Work And Pensions. They re owed around £2. 7 billion and those affected are being traced. But some women fear they ll never receive the full amount they re owed, as our business correspondent, Sarah Corker explains. 11 years before she went into care, she could have done quite a few other things. I think it s really poor. I think you shouldn t have to fight for what is rightfully yours. For two decades, rosemary was underpaid her state pension. It was her son, john, who first realised something was wrong. On the fourth time of asking, the Department For Work And Pensions agreed to investigate and the scale of the error came as a shock. It came back to me, another day later, and said it was £107,852, which is an amazing amount. And that s because she was never given a proportion of the old man S Pension when he died 20 years ago. What was your reaction when you heard just how much your mum had been underpaid for 20 years . It s just astonishing. I mean, my first thought was for her and the other things, perhaps, she could have done, anyway, in her life if she had the extra money in her pension to live off. But also other people out there who must be also in the same position, and may not know they are owed all this money. And there are many others affected by this. Women phoned the Department For Work And Pensions, suspecting their payments were too low, some were receiving just £1 a week, but they were repeatedly told that the amount they were getting were correct but they were not. For decades, an estimated 200,000 women were underpaid their state pensions. This is the astonishing thing, its been going on for years and nobody knew. We still havent had an explanation for what went wrong. I dont think anybody yet knows why this automatic system didnt notify the women and give them the pension that they were due. That, in itself, is quite shocking. Some women will now be fully repaid automatically, but others won t. But this has been going on for a long time. I just hadnt realised. A Rule Change in 2008 means angela, from cumbria, will only be able to backdate payments for 12 months. She believes she s owed 14 years of enhanced pension, and will miss out on Tens Of Thousands of pounds. It seems very unfair, very unfair. If i have to accept it, i suppose i would. I but itjust doesnt seem right when so much time has been lost, and so much money has been lost, in the interim. It would make all the. Difference in the world. The government says it s contacting those affected and correcting historic underpayments running into billions. But that does not include women impacted by the 2008 law change. The dwp said it wrote to them at the time about applying for an increase, but those the bbc has spoken to say they received no such letter. And for others, it has come too late. Rosemary has dementia and is in a Care Home in cheshire. She will never know about this life changing amount of money. Sarah corker, Bbc News. A 19 year old man in singapore haS Pleaded guilty to sending Death Threats to the Premier League Footballer Neal Maupay on Social Media. Derek ung is the first person outside the uk to be charged and convicted of such an offence. Nick marsh reports from singapore. The Premier League said it hoped today s ruling would serve as a powerful deterrent to would be abusers no matter where they are in the world. They thanked the singaporean authorities, as did Neal Maupay, and Brighton And Hove albion in securing this landmark conviction. 7000 miles away, and the first of its kind outside of the uk. Now, derek mg, 19 years old, pleaded guilty as expected today in court to sending these explicit Death Threats to Neal Maupay. He will be sentenced next month, and he can expect to receive a hefty fine of up to £10,000. He may also receive a Jail Term of up to two years. Now, we all know how much abuse is levelled at players on a daily basis from within the uk. But given football s global appeal, it is also clear that an awful lot comes from outside the domestic borders too. This is where things get tricky. Because the footballing authorities then need to enlist the help of foreign Law Enforcement agencies. They need Police Forces Around The World to start investing their time, their effort and their resources into securing convictions like this. Now, today, they will argue that what has happened in singapore can serve as a bit of a watershed moment. They think it will be a sort of template in ensuring that online abuse, no matter where it happens in the world, can be tackled and people can be brought to justice. Nick marsh, Bbc News, singapore. Today it was announced that there ll be year long Platinum Jubilee celebrations throughout the united kingdom, the commonwealth and Around The World, culminating in the Platinum Jubilee Weekend Nextjune. On the final day of the four day weekend, sunday, june 5, there will be at the big Jubilee Lunch taking place, followed by the Platinum Jubilee lunch taking place, followed by the platinumjubilee pageant, which lunch taking place, followed by the Platinum Jubilee pageant, which we are told will involve some 5000 people, combining street art, carnival, right here outside Buckingham Palace, celebrating the service and charities that have taken place during the queen S Rain. Less happily for the royalfamily, a story in the Guardian Newspaper about who Buckingham Palace employed or didn t employ many years ago. Yes, a rapid change of gears here. These are documents unnerved by the guardian from the national archive, documents more than 50 years old. One document is written by a Home Office Official back in 1968, he wrote, following contact with the palace s head of finance. It s important that i stress this is the wording used by a Home Office Official in this report that he wrote. He said, It Official in this report that he wrote. He said, it was not in fact the practice at the palace to appoint carl immigrants or foreigners to clerical roles in at the royal household, although they were permitted to work as domestic servants. There has been a robust rebuttal from the palace, servants. There has been a robust rebuttalfrom the palace, they servants. There has been a robust rebuttal from the palace, they have said that claims based on a second Hand Account from conversations more than 50 years ago should not be used to draw unfair conclusions about modern day events or operations will stop they point out that the royal household and the sovereign comply with the provisions of the Equality Act in principle and in practice. Obviously, coming so soon after what meghan up the duchess of sussex said about racial attitudes, it is difficult for the palace. We have to bearin difficult for the palace. We have to bear in mind that this all goes from more than 50 years ago when attitudes, clearly, throughout society were very different. Across england, there have been efforts to tame traffic in towns and cities. Many communities are also seeing new restrictions on cars to create low Traffic Neighbourhoods. Our chief environment correspondent, justin rowlatt, has been to oxford, where a group of pedestrians have gone the extra mile to uphold the law, by becoming human traffic bollards. Here s a question for you when is a pedestrian not a pedestrian . We re bollards and bollards don t say anything. When they have become a human bollard. What are you going to do . Run us over . Ive got a place to be. Can you move . Horns blare you cannot go down the high street. So this road is supposed to be blocked between 7 30am and 6 30pm but the bollards aren t working and nor are the Number Plate Recognition cameras, so drivers know they can come through without being fined, which is why the oxford Pedestrians Association decided to. Step in. I don t feel anxious or afraid, ijust Feel Something has to be done and i m doing the right thing in the right directions. Bizarre, i wouldn t have expected it. Im not like normal vehicles, you dont know that. What, are you speechless now . Yeah, so ill be reversing down here in a second. Thank you. One Delivery Man managed to bamboozle the activists into letting him through. I pay taxes to the council to be able to go through here so im an authorised vehicle, i the same as the county council, mate, the same as buses, i can go through the cameras. The delivery company, dpd, told Bbc News the response from their driver wasn t acceptable, and it said it will brief all drivers again on the restrictions. We will find out. The Road Closures here in oxford are part of a nationwide effort to calm traffic in our Town And City centres. So, what we are trying to do is to rebalance our streets, make them friendlier for pedestrians, encourage them to be able to walk more short trips, and that actually helps free Up Space for people who need to drive, for people carrying heavy loads. But, rachel, freeing Up Space for pedestrians means taking space away from motorists, doesn t it . It means. Very often, they are the same person, very often there is a person who is driving to the local shop who could walk to the local shop, not always. Enfield, in london, is one of many English Councils that has blocked roads and introduced charges to create new low Traffic Neighbourhoods, or ltns, during the covid pandemic. So, this low Traffic Neighbourhood came completely Out Of The Blue and it has made our lives impossible. The restrictions here in enfield are similar to oxford, except you are fined £130 if you drive through. Everywhere ive been going, ive been blocked to try and get down here. It is bloody ridiculous. Sue sanders says she has never been involved in local politics before. I see it as undermining democracy. There has not been a proper consultation. We see the ltns as a fait accompli, as something imposed upon us, and i actually genuinely see it as alienating people from the green agenda, it is actually undermining the green agenda. We asked Enfield Council for comment, but it did not respond. Hi, guys, you know it is illegal for you to go through here . No, its not, mate. It is. The truth is, if we want safe, clean cities and to tackle climate change, we do need to coax some people out of their cars. And if they think they will be punished, most drivers do obey the law. Justin rowlatt, Bbc News, oxford. Some news just some newsjust coming in. The Times Educational Supplement haS Published a letter from the education recovery commissioner, Sir Kevin collins, offering to resign. That follows the announcement today, the very controversial plans announced toDay By the government for Catch Up teaching in england, a £1. 4 Billion proposed by the government. There are reports that Sir Kevin collins had wanted around £15 billion worth of funding and 100 extra hours of teaching per pupil. Those Government Plans to spend £1. 4 Billion on Catch Up plans to spend £1. 4 Billion on Catch Up learning had been divided by many Teaching Unions, who said they were deeply disappointing. The labour party, as well. So, a report in the educational supplement that he has offered to resign. Now it s time for a look at the weather with ben rich. Hello there. So far this week, maximum temperatures have been steadily climbing Day By day. Once again, wednesday was the warmest day of the year so far, 28 degrees in one or two places. But in some other places, the weather was starting to change. Some dramatic downpours for a Weather Watcher in devon earlier on, as this stripe of cloud worked its way through, bringing some heavy, thundery downpours across southern and central parts of the uk. The Weather System responsible is still with us through thursday. The Rain Tending to weaken as it drifts northwards. Behind this Cold Front here, there are some colder, or at least cooler air. After days of climbing, i think temperatures will start to drop a little for most of us. Through thursday, we will see some showery Rain Drifting across Northern England and up into scotland, tending to fizzle away. Low cloud across north eastern scotland. For Northern Ireland, england and wales, early cloud should break to reveal some sunshine. Eastern england seeing the high temperatures, perhaps up to 26 or 27 degrees. For most of us, a little Bit Cooler than it has been. Through thursday night, we will see some Cloud And Rain getting close to western counties of Northern Ireland, and also the potential for some heavy and impossibly thundery downpurs to push up across south Eastern Parts of England And East anglia, where it will be a Warm And Muggy night. Something a little bit fresher further west. Into friday, there s the chance that we will see some Downpours Clipping into parts of eastern england. Out west, for Northern Ireland, more cloud with a frontal system potentially bringing a few spots of rain into western counties. In between, some sunshine, but temperatures lower than they have been. Having said that, 18 21 degrees in the sunshine, it will feel very pleasant indeed. For the weekend, frontal systems trying to make inroads from the atlantic. The pressure remains relatively high, meaning the front will really struggle to make much progress and they will tend to weekend. And they will tend to weaken. Just some patchy, showery, mostly light rain, Rain Working Into Western Areas through saturday, with a lot of cloud. The best of the sunshine further east, where we will see the highest of the temperatures. For sunday, what is left of that Weather Front could bring a few showers into East Anglia and the south east, but many other spots will be dry with spells of sunshine. Between a 16 23 c in most places. Sunday into monday, pressure remains relatively high. A next frontal system pushing and from the west should weaken. It will bring cloud and some outbreaks of rain into Northern Ireland and western scotland, may be heavy bursts, but that will tend to weaken as it pushes its wearers. Good spells of sunshine further east. Heading through next week, Thejet Sunshine further east. Heading through next week, the Jet Stream will be well to the north of the uk, may be just clipping close enough do North Western areas to bring some areas of Cloud And Rain at times. Most of us, High Pressure remains in charge of is at the Jet Stream starts to buckle through the middle part of the week, we may see some warmer air returning. Next week, mostly dry for most of us. Some rain possible in at the North West of the uk. After a few days of dipping, Temperature Set Decline again, perhaps into the middle 20s. Today at six Boris Johnson believes the timetable for The End of england S Lockdown is still on track. But the longing for a return to normality must contend with rising infections. I can see nothing in the data at the moment that means we can t go ahead with step four, or the Opening Onjune the 21st, but we ve got to be so cautious. The Vaccine Rollout could be key with just under half of all adults in the uk now having had two jabs. Also on the programme catching up after covid. There will be more money for england s schools, after initialfunding is described as a damp squib. Now the government s education recoveries are has resigned
