Its turning into the worst violence between israel and the palestinians for seven years. At least a0 people have been killed this week. The United Nations has warned the conflict is moving towards full scale war. In the last few hours militant group hamas said theyd launched another 200 rockets towards israel. Israeli airstrikes were heard in gaza as dawn broke. The israelI Government has declared a State Of Emergency in the town of Lod One of several areas that have seen protests by arab israeli citizens. Mark lobel has the latest. Like an inferno, this conflict has erupted into the worst violence in years. In the past few hours, hamas says it launched over 200 rockets into israel from gaza, some intercepted almost immediately by Israels Air Defence system, but not all. It is reported, police say, two people were killed by rockets striking the central israeli city of lod in the middle of the night. Earlier, cars and a religious school were burned, after clashes between Arab Israelis and Israeli Jews on the streets here, 30 minutes south of tel aviv. A situation the mayor described as out of control. The israelI Government has declared an emergency In The City. In the West Bank City of ramallah, Israeli Military Vehicles drive back palestinian protesters with tear gas. As Clashes Injerusalem and events in gaza have acted as a rallying cry, sending residents here into battle too. In the West Bank City of hebron, palestinian and israeli forces clash. Firecrackers are lobbed in exchange for Stun Grenades and tear gas. At least 130 missiles have targeted the israeli city of tel aviv. This was the burnt out scene after rockets struck. Earlier, pedestrians ran for shelter. There was visible shock when rockets claimed the lives of two israeli women In The City of ashkelon, which lies close to gaza. 95 people were hospitalised. Earlier, this 13 Storey Hamas occupied Tower Block in gaza fell, an hour and a half after residents were warned to evacuate, with no reported casualties. Israeli Defence Minister Benny Gantz said the israeli strikes werejust the beginning. Hamas says it stands ready if there is an escalation. Israel says its targeting militant leaders, but many of the victims were young, including ii year old husain hammad. At least ten children have now been reported killed in the last few days, according to hamas. Among at least 28 killed and at least 150 injured. And there is going to be more loss of life, im afraid, and i dont see it wrapping up any time soon. So i think the engagement has to come from the us. There needs to be much more us leadership here. Following days of unrest byjerusalems old city with Water Cannons deployed by israeli authorities once again, the international community has urged both sides to end the escalation. Explosions. But this was the Sound Gaza woke up to. Mark lobel, bbc news. The israeli prime minister, benjamin netanyahu, Visited Lod in the early hours of this morning, this is what he had to say. Translation we must act against all of those who try to attack israeli citizens or the state of israel. They hurt citizens, police officers, burn houses, cars, synagogues. Thank yon a nine year old boy has died after apparently being struck by lightning during a football coaching session. The child was injured on a Playing Field in the common Edge Road Area of Blackpool Yesterday Afternoon when a Thunderstorm Hit the lancashire town. Adam mcclean sent this report from blackpool. It was just after five oclock yesterday evening, when the boy was playing football on these Playing Fields just off School Road in blackpool. A thunderstorm passed through the area and the nine year old was struck by lightning, causing serious injuries. An Air Ambulance landed here. He was taken to hospital, where he sadly died a short time later. Spirit of youthjunior fc, who use the Playing Field here, who use the Playing Fields here, say the boy was taking part in a private one to one training session, not run by The Club. He wasnt one of their players. Now, the secretary of The Club said that there were three teams due to train yesterday, and those sessions were cancelled because of the storm. The Club Say that they are offering support to the Boys Family and those who were with him at the time. In a statement, lancashire police say, this is a truly devastating incident, and our thoughts are wholeheartedly with the family and friends of the young boy who has sadly passed away, at this very sad and distressing time. Police say the Boys Family have been informed and that they are being supported by officers. Labours deputy leader, angela rayner, has suggested that sir Keir Starmer s leadership was an issue during campaigning for last weeks elections. The party lost control of a number of local councils, and was defeated in the parliamentary By Election in hartlepool. Ms rayner, who was removed from her post as Labours Campaign co ordinator after the elections, said voters didnt seem to know what the labour leaders key messages were. What i heard on the doorstep is, i didnt know what Keir Starmer stood for, so i think that is what our challenges, actually. Its not, you know, people briefing saying, we think keir thinks this, we think keir thinks that, but actually about what are we doing . What are our policies on that . You know, i talked about the green industrial revolution, the jobs that i think should go to those areas that, for decades, havent had an industry. Because those industries left, you know. We dont want to bring back the coal mines, but what we do want is to tackle Climate Change Social Media Firms will have to remove harmful content quickly orface the possibility of multi billion Pound Fines under new legislation published today. Ministers say the online Safety Bill is aimed at keeping Children Safe But will protect debate. It has already run into criticism with some saying the plans will lead to censorship, and others warning that they dont go far enough. Andy burrows is head of Child Safety Online at the nspcc. Hello, mr burrows. Good morning. Can ou tell hello, mr burrows. Good morning. Can you tell our hello, mr burrows. Good morning. Can you tell our audience hello, mr burrows. Good morning. Can you tell our audience what hello, mr burrows. Good morning. Can you tell our audience what this hello, mr burrows. Good morning. Can you tell our audience what this bill you tell our audience what this bill is intending to do when it comes to protecting children online . This is a landmark moment, the nspcc has been campaigning, as you know, for this legislation for about four years. The intention is to put a legally enforceable Duty Of Care On Tech Firms to think about the risks to children could face as a result of using their services. And then to make sure those issues are addressed so children enjoy a fundamentally safer experience online. At the nspcc, we have some significant concerns about whether the legislation is going far enough. There is a very simple test we will judge this legislation by. Is the government going as far as it needs to, is it doing everything that it can to prevent what is, effectively, avoidable Child Abuse in a number of areas . We need to see this go further. ~. ,. ,. , further. Wright, 0k, what would that look like if it further. Wright, 0k, what would that look like if it went further. Wright, 0k, what would that look like if it went further . Further. Wright, 0k, what would that look like if it went further . Look like if it went further . Right. Look like if it went further . Riuht. ,. , right. Firstly we need to see the ro osals right. Firstly we need to see the preposals go right. Firstly we need to see the proposals go further right. Firstly we need to see the proposals go further to right. Firstly we need to see the proposals go further to tackle i right. Firstly we need to see the l proposals go further to tackle the nature of the Child Abuse problem. We know children arent abused on a particular site, we know children arent abused on a particularsite, but we know children arent abused on a particular site, but a child will be groomed starting with a direct message on a Social Network before they are moved across to an encrypted Messaging Site or live streaming site. And what we are expecting the proposal is to do is really to treat this as a silo problem, ratherthan really to treat this as a silo problem, rather than saying to platforms they need to address the risks on their site. But also work together to address how abuse jumps from platform to platform. We need to see lessons learned from other sectors. One of the things that is readily apparent is that we need to see really effective Responsibility And Accountability on named directors and what the Legislation Wont do is actually say the names directors who are taking decisions on whether products are safe for children will face consequences. If they continue to put children in harms way. We know that is an absolutely essential ingredient to making sure this really delivers the transformative protections for children that we know are possible. The previous Culture Secretary, Matt Hancock, in 2018 saw the Data Protection Bill through parliament, where he warned that firms, social tech firms, Social Media Firms, could be fined up to 4 of their global turnover, could be fined up to 4 of their globalturnover, ie could be fined up to 4 of their global turnover, ie billions for the biggest firms, if they didnt protect people online, didnt protect people online, didnt protect children online. That was particularly to do with age verification. When he was Culture Secretary, Matt Hancock talked about the internet being the wild west. Do you have faith in Government Legislation trying to curve what is going on, online and Social Media . This is Draft Legislation being public today and i was a crucial moment for the Culture Secretary, Oliver Dowden, to take a look at what has been proposed and listen to the concerns being expressed by the nspcc and tighten the proposal so they can do everything necessary. If this legislation is going to deliver the Culture Shift that we need to see, it needs to go further. But crucially this has to start from the basis of how do we ensure children are safe . If the approach is that we will proceed with legislation but only in a way that is palatable to tech firms, the crucial part of the Bill Arent taken forward, then unfortunately, the consequence will be further online abuse and it is avoidable. If the legislation is amended in the coming weeks and the government really listens and fixes some of the problem, we can see a game changing piece of legislation that will deliver for children and families and will respond to the very clear consensus that is there from children and families right across this country that the time has come to make sure once and for a role that children are safe on the Social Networks and Gaming Platforms. Social networks and Gaming Platform Social Networks and Gaming Platforms. Social networks and gaming latforms. , y. , platforms. Thank you, Andy Burrows from the nspcc. And well be talking about want Social Media companies must do to stop abuse online. And to stop people heading to Suicide Websites which we will talk about in a quarter of an hour or so with a conservative mp. Police are continuing to search a cafe in gloucester linked to the disappearance of a teenage girl, who is suspected to have been murdered by Serial Killer Fred West. Officers were called to the clean Plate Cafe by a film production company, which said it had found evidence that a body could be buried at the site. 15 year old Mary Bastholm had worked at the property before she went missing in 1968. Phil mackie reports. Its 53 years since Mary Bastholm was last seen alive. In 1968, there was a massive Investigation But Nothing was found. The 15 year old had completely vanished. Happy as far as we know. No reason at all why shed run away from home, certainly. In 1994, police discovered the first of 12 bodies of women and young girls who were killed in and around gloucester. Three bodies have been found here, including the Daughter And Lodger of the accused man. The Serial Killer Fred West had been due to stand trial for their murders when he killed himself in prison. A Team Filming A Documentary made a discovery at this cafe which may provide the answer to her disappearance. Back in the 1960s, Mary Bastholm was a waitress in this cafe and Fred West was a customer who carried out some renovation work. So, theres long been suggestions that he killed her and buried her here. Gloucestershire police have described it as potentially a significant development, and say they are likely to be at the site for several weeks. Marys family have been asked to be left alone and to be given time to grieve. Phil mackie, bbc news, gloucester. The headlines on bbc news. After another night of violence and the United Nations warns that the conflict between israel and the palestinians is escalating towards full scale war. A nine year old boy has died after being struck by lightning in blackpool while taking part in football training. Social media firms will have to remove harmful content quickly or potentially face multi billion Pound Fines under new legislation. The compulsory microchipping of cats, a ban on the export of live animals for slaughter, and a crackdown on Puppy Smuggling are among new Animal Welfare Measures being published by the government today. The aim is to provide better protection for domesticated and wild creatures in the uk and abroad, and has been welcomed by campaigners. Our environment correspondent, claire marshall, has the details. Ok, i think she is calm enough now. At the bath cats and dogs home, Vet Nicola prepares to fit a new arrival with a microchip. Shadow has cat flu, so it has to be done here in isolation. Thats in many of these cats have clearly been well cared for. They may well have owners who are searching for them. But if theyre not microchipped, like around 2. 6 million pet cats in the uk, its much harder for them to be reunited. Theres a good boy. Todays announcement is really welcome here. What do you think about it being made compulsory for cats to have chips . Oh, it will be the best thing. Im, i think as a vet, i have been a vet for seven years, and theres been so many cases ive seen where i wish wed have had an owner sooner. So, yeah, i think it will help with welfare, i think it will help with owners as well. This isntjust about helping cats. This signals a broader cultural shift towards understanding the intelligence of and needs of animals. Its part of the governments wide ranging Action Plan for animal welfare. Environment Secretary George Eustace visited Battersea Dogs Home to launch it. There is a really important overarching policy that we have here, which is to recognise that animals are sentient beings, and recognising that to have a new animal sentience committee, that will scrutinise Government Policy in the future to ensure that, as we develop new policies, and as we improve our policies, were constantly thinking about how we can enhance animal welfare. Also in the plan, the ban on the sale of ivory in the uk will be brought into force, along with a ban on the import of Hunting Trophies from endangered species. There will be new Import Rules to help fight Puppy Smuggling. And vertebrates, animals with a backbone, will have a legal right to have their feelings recognised. The plan also outlaws the exports of live animals for fattening and slaughter. But what about food brought in from abroad . In australia, you can have Journey Times for animals in excess of 2a hours, without access to feed or water. Its ridiculous, increasing standards in this country but not applying that standard to countries that were looking to do Trade Deals with. Thats just hypocrisy. But others are happy with the plans. Back at the bath cats and dogs home, over the last 2a hours, kittens have arrived. Their mother, tess, was a stray. She and her young will all be chipped before new homes are found. Claire marshall, bbc news, bath. Weve talked already about how the government is publishing Legislation Today which will force Social Media companies to protect children from harmful content and illegal acitivty online. Well, one conservative mp, the former Cabinet Minister Owen paterson, is today leading a delegation aimed at tackling Suicide Websites, and the danger they pose to users. His wife, rose, took her own life last summer and had looked at such sites. She was chair of aintree racecourse, a mum and a grandma, a school governor, a trustee of several charities. Hes chairman of the rose paterson trust, which was set up in his wifes name. And we can talk to him now. Good morning, what legislation would you like to see . The good morning, what legislation would you like to see . You like to see . The government is lookin at you like to see . The government is looking at really you like to see . The government is looking at really radical you like to see . The government is looking at really radical ideas. You like to see . The government is looking at really radical ideas. So i looking at really radical ideas. So we bring some sort of civilised control to the wilds of the internet. It has been the most wonderful boon to disseminate information, making everybody in contact with each other all around the world. It has been a spectacular benefit. But, sadly, it also can disseminate very, very damaging and Dangerous information and we have an opportunity in this bill to make the government aware. They have already been talking to many key charities like samaritans, etc, about how we can possibly counter some of these websites. I only learned about them when the police told me my wife had been looking at them probably about a fortnight before she took her life. And i have learned quite a lot about them since. And i have talked to a lot of experts in this field who know massively more than me. It seems to me we have an opportunity with this bill to create a framework and a base, on which as technology is developed, we can rapidly react. None of us have a clue what our iphone will look like in five years time, let alone ten or 15 years time. But i would hope that this bill gives us the opportunity, through secondary Legislation Committee rapidly react, as these technologies evolve. And as these websites, as they inevitably will, will try to move ahead of legal control or legal reaction. Stand will try to move ahead of legal control or legal reaction. And can i. Control or legal reaction. And can i sorry control or legal reaction. And can i sorry and control or legal reaction. And can i. Sorry. And can control or legal reaction. And can i. Sorry. And can i ask you what i your reaction was, missed paterson when you are told your wife had visited these kinds of sites two weeks before her death i had no idea they existed and that was a common problem for some plots of senior people i have talked to had no idea they exist and when i explained to them subsequently. Explained to them subsequently. Lots of people. It is incredibly Dangerous for someone who is feeling anxious, a bit depressed, but is not really considering this terrible, terrible permanent step. The beguiling message that i have seen is that every life goes through a positive phase and then sadly, a point comes when it is on the downward slope and there is nothing much more to be achieved, it is essentially negative. And there is, therefore, nothing at all to be ashamed of them nothing to be embarrassed about, nothing crazy, nothing illogical or irrational in taking a very permanent step and ending that life. It is presented as the next perfectly sensible and rational, logical move. And then, of course, there is a lot of very Dangerous information if the websites are pursued further. And i think that is an extraordinary. It is a very beguiling message to someone who might be very vulnerable or worried. As my wife was, she was anxious. You could start looking at these websites quite tentatively and within minutes, you could be looking at very Dangerous material indeed. Very rapidly. And i dont think this could have happened. I think my wife. Ten years ago if she went into W H Smith and wanted a book on Suicide Summer might have given her a cup of Tea And History would have been different. There would not have been different. There would not have been a bit. But alone come in a vulnerable state on these websites, you can look at extraordinarily Dangerous material with very Dangerous material with very Dangerous messages. This is quite normal. Also, Tens Of Thousands of other people are doing the same thing. So you have a lot in common with other people, that is Dangerous. It with other people, that is Dangerous. With other people, that is dancerous. , ~. , Dangerous. It sounds like you are sa in , Dangerous. It sounds like you are saying. Mr Dangerous. It sounds like you are saying, Mr Paterson, Dangerous. It definitely facilitated the final action, i have No Doubt about that. It made it much easier. Explaining what to do. I need to be very careful on this programme, because there may be vulnerable people possibly watching now. {lit there may be vulnerable people possibly watching now. Of course. And i possibly watching now. Of course. And i would possibly watching now. Of course. And i would say possibly watching now. Of course. And i would say to possibly watching now. Of course. I am constantly saying this, please talk to a friend, relative, talk to a teacher, go to your doctor. But dont, please, look at these websites with these terrible beguiling and seductive messages that sucks you in and rapidly takes you down, quite rapidly, down to a very Dangerous point when you take an appallingly permanent decision from which there is no coming back. What permanent decision from which there is no coming back. Is no coming back. What impact has the death of is no coming back. What impact has the death of your is no coming back. We will probably never recover. We are told that time heals. We are coming up to the anniversary and i can assure you, time has not healed at all. Im very public about this because i do have a belief, which may be wrong, because i think many of the suicide happened on an impulse, and people just want to escape the mental pain they are in at the moment, but i still have this faith that if she had knownjust still have this faith that if she had known just what the catastrophic damage was. Obviously firstly to herself. Lets never forget damage was. Obviously firstly to herself. Lets neverforget the most appalling victims of this unhappiness are those who take their lives and that is a lot of people. In the next 90 minutes, someone will take their life. About 6500 people per year, thats 15 take their life. About 6500 people per year, thats15jumbo take their life. About 6500 people per year, thats 15jumbo jets. This per year, thats 15 jumbo jets. This is per year, thats 15jumbo jets. This is a massive problem. If she had just been aware of the impact, not just been aware of the impact, not just on herself, which is, of course, absolutely permanent, just as her career was really, really taking off. In the later years, as you explained in her introduction. But all those around her, notjust how close family, she had huge contacts in the Charity World and the sporting world, which made an impact on racing. It is caffeinated that every suicide impacts 135 other people. It is calculated. I think thatis people. It is calculated. I think that is a massive under estimate. It is probably hitting 1 Million people a year, really damaged by this. A close friend of mine only last weekend, i met him in the morning, i had a meeting, and he was completely shattered. I very close friend of his had just taken his life that morning. He wasjust his had just taken his life that morning. He was just devastated by it. Ido i do think we have an opportunity with this film. I am very grateful to the government for this. We have got a roundtable organised with a number of players from all ends of the political spectrum, richard burgin, who has been very helpful, he had a terrible constituency case, Alistair Campbell who has been very public in his description of his own depression and some tragedies within his own family, and a number of others, and obviously professional organisations like the samaritans. I hope that we can lay the base for the future. I dont have a clear and easy solution. Lots of them are already on the dark web already. That is not a solution. My phrase is, we have to beat technology with technology, and there are many more knowledgeable people than me on that. We have Alice Hendy coming who lost a brother in november, who is amazing and has come up with what you think might be a technical answer which flips up a Counter Screen should you put in the wrong sort of message into google. Im very interested to hear how far the government has gone. I have a preliminary meeting with senior civil servants a few weeks ago. It was really good, when they were really listening and keen to work. This is. This is a real stain on the wonders of the internet, it has been of such benefit to so many people, but sadly, goes with it the evil and Dangerous material. And we have to see what we can do to regulate it. Some of the stuff i have looked at glasgow very near the wind, of the assisted Suicide Legislation already, but im not a lawyer. That is one of the things we will be looking at later. Will be looking at later. Listen, we wish ou will be looking at later. Listen, we wish you all will be looking at later. Listen, we wish you all the will be looking at later. Listen, we wish you all the best will be looking at later. Listen, we wish you all the best with will be looking at later. Listen, we wish you all the best with this i will be looking at later. Listen, we wish you all the best with this and | wish you all the best with this and good luck with this campaign and good luck with this campaign and good luck with a Meeting Today and No Doubt we will talk again. Thank you very much. No doubt we will talk again. Thank you very much and if youve been affected by any of the issues raised in this story, you can find details of many organisations offering Help And Support on the Bbc Action Line website. As Mr Paterson said, if you are feeling anxious or stressed right now, talk to someone, it is just the act of opening up and talking to someone, because people will want to help you, definitely. Now its time for a look at the weather with carol. Hello again. For the next few days, the forecast is certainly one of sunshine and showers, and turning that bit windier, as we head into the weekend. Today, weve got some rain across the far north of scotland. Some of that fringing and across Northern Ireland. A lot of showers across england and wales, getting into Northern Ireland and Southern Scotland later on, and we got some rain coming up across the English Channel into parts of wales and the South West later on as well. Temperatures up to 17 degrees. Through this evening and overnight, this rain will advance towards the midlands, getting into wales, and more of Devon And Cornwall and again, still a few showers knocking around and a fair bit of cloud. Low cloud and murky conditions across the North And East of scotland and into the North East of england. Tomorrow, that will be slow to clear, and then tomorrow, and in fact into the weekend and next week, we are looking at this unsettled team continuing with some Rain Or Sunshine sport and for a full round up, from the Bbc Sport centre, heres sally. Good morning. Manchester City Have won their third Premier League Title in four years after their closest Challengers Manchester united were beaten by leicester city. Andy swiss reports from the etihad stadium. Commentator congratulations to Pep Guardiola and Manchester City. J the moment that meant disappointment on one side of manchester. And delight on the other. Defeat for united meant city were champions for the fifth time in less than a decade. For theirfans, another night to celebrate. Its unbelievable. I think it is Pep Guardiolas biggest achievement so far. Nothing beats it, Premier League. You just know youve won, you are the champions in england. Weve won the carabao cup, i weve won the Premier League, lets hope we can clinch the Champions League, as well. Earlier, uniteds 2 1 defeat against leicester whose players could celebrate. Here in the etihad, City Have played stunning football this season but no fans have been able to watch it with every game here behind closed doors. But it has not stopped their success. So what has been their secret . Yes, they have standout stars like boyhood City Fan Phil foden, but it is their collective strength that has been key. For me, its been special, because even i think it was january, february time, when you see Kevin De Bruyne go down, you see Sergio Aguero go down, they are two of the best players in the world, but in that time i think city won every single game so i think that says a lot about the collective. And so Citys Decade of domestic domination now has a new chapter, and with a first Champions League final to come, it could be their greatest yet. Andy swiss, bbc news, the etihad stadium. In last nights other game, southampton fought back to beat Crystal Palace 3 1 at st marys. Both sides already knew that they are guaranteed Premier League football next season. Danny ings scored twice to make it 12 League Goals for him this season. Meanwhile, we still dont know where the all english Champions League final, between Manchester City and chelsea, will take place. The Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden said the government cleared the way for uefa to host the final at wembley. The match will be moved from istanbul, but portugal is now the favourite to host the match. Theres a new man in the Leaders Pinkjersey at the giro ditalia. Alessandro De Marchi finished second on stage 4 yesterday, and that was enough to put him at the top of the overall standings. . A career first for the 34 year old italian clearly delighted to lead his Home Tour britains Hugh Carthy and Simon Yates are 10th and 16th respectively. Now weve had some fairly torrential rain over here in the uk, and its been the same in rome. At the italian open, one man, novak djokovic wasnt impressed that he had to carry on playing. Take a listen to this. I didnt say that djokovic eventually went on to win his second Round Match Aginst taylor fritz, and heres what he had to say afterwards. Look, you know, its not the first time or probably the last time that im going to experience such conditions. Even though with that much experience behind me, i still get upset and lose my cool. But its ok. Im not sure that it is ok, actually thats just about all the sport for now. Dont forget its the first round of golf s british masters today. You can keep up to date with all the latest from the belfry on the Bbc Sport website. The west End Star Ruthie Henshall who has been campaiging for the rights of those in Care Homes and Theirfamilies Has described the government as Utterly Inhumane, following the death of her own mother, gloria, in a Care Home. She was 87 and suffered from dementia. Because of covid, Ms Henshall and her sisters went almost a year without being able to visit her. From next monday in england, five named people will be able to visit a relative living at a Care Home and a maximum of two visitors will now be allowed at any one time and the government says Care Providers and homes are expected to follow that guidance unless there is a good reason to take a different approach. Lets talk to Ruthie Henshall and her sister susan, now. Hello both of you. First of all, i am really, really sorry about your mum. Tell us about gloria, what sort of a person was she . She was an incredible woman. She she was an incredible woman. She really was. She wasnt easy at times, but she was a schoolteacher and a drama teacher, and i loved the fact that she inspired a lot of people to follow their dream, including me. And, you know, she was an incredible woman. Tote and, you know, she was an incredible woman. ~. ,. , woman. We are ust Seeing A Photograph woman. We are ust Seeing A Photograph of woman. We are just seeing a L Photograph of her now. This is woman. We are just seeing a I Photograph of her now. This is a photograph of her now. This is a photo from when you were able to go back into the Care Home. How much do you think the lack of contact affected your mum in the last year . Honestly, the first four months of lockdown, we all knew how to keep them safe, but she went from walking and talking to not walking and talking, to having to have herfood liquidise, drinks thickened, and that happened in that four Month Period when she had no contact whatsoever with anybody apart from the odd carer coming into her room, because they were looking them down in their own rooms, and this is people with dementia, who, a lot of them, i have to be honest, our wanderers, they need to wander the corridors. All they have is each other. And everything comes into the home, the entertainment, the visitors, everything comes into their home. They are very rarely going out. And that all stopped, d. So, they went from, my mother went from having at least three or four visits a week, do nothing, and it just took her down so quickly, and my Mother Isjust just took her down so quickly, and my mother is just one of many that i have heard about. There are still Care Homes which are completely making up their own rules. This is what is making me so distressed about all of this, is because the government needs to grow a pair, and they need to absolutely make this law, so that People Cant make up their own rules about this, and, we dont want, just in Case Covid comes back into the home, my mother had had both of herjabs. Ive had one of myjabs, my sister has had one of herjabs. We did a lateralflow of myjabs, my sister has had one of herjabs. We did a lateral Flow Test every time we went in, ppe, temperature checks, oxygen levels. This is as good as it is going to get. So, why are we still continuing to lock down these people who need desperately to see their family . My role, i was an Essential Caregiver in the end, which is what the government has guidance saying that, if the needs of the person are great enough, they can have an Essential Caregiver. When are need is great . What about mental needs . We all know how it has been not to be able to help people for a year. How dare we do this to these vulnerable, vulnerable people . There is not the risk any more that there was. Let people in. I am not saying open the doors and let everybody in, but, you know, make this law, and then these homes cannot make up their own rules. ,. ,. ,. , rules. Ruthie, susan, thank you for talkin to rules. As new legislation is published subjecting Social Media Firms to multi million Pound Fines if they fail to remove harmful content quickly. Theres a call to stop female Football Fans being abused online. Women in football which is a network that protects womens interests across the game says attitudes must change, so that everyone can participate without fear of discrimination or trolling. The bbc has spoken to a number of female fans who have suffered sexist and racist abuse online, simply for voicing their opinion on the sport. Zahid lalani reports. Hello, guys, welcome back to seballos tv. Melissa seballos has supported spurs for as long as she can remember. And, during the pandemic, launched her own Youtube Channel to talk about football. But despite the widely positive reaction to her opinions on youtube and twitter, shes faced sexist and racist abuse, based on her filipino heritage and for being a woman who talks about football. Things started getting racial. They were calling me a bleep telling me i need to go i back to the philippines. I was getting Sexual Assault threats, death threats. People saying i need to get hung in a zoo. We won. Amazing, can you believe it . Newcastle Fan Kendall Rowan lost herjob last march during lockdown and is now full time Youtube Content creator. This abuse she received has since been removed, but other comments made her obsess about her weight and even led to threats of violence against her family. My daughters mixed race, shes had racial abuse aimed towards her. Ive been called fat. It got to the point where i would go to the gym five days a week. I even went to the doctors to the point of asking for plastic surgery. Im absolutely staggered and horrified that this is going on. Social Media Companies need to be more accountable and i think Social Media users needs to be more accountable. In response, twitter says that. Youtube says it does not tolerate Harassment Or Trolling and that User Safety is its top priority. It says it works quickly to remove content that violates its policies. Yes, its not going to be a match review, guys. Despite the negativity, Kendall And Mel say they will carry on creating content and talking about the sport that they love. People say, you know, dont let the trolls win and i think to myself, you know what, youre so right. Why should i have to give up something that i love . I also have a lot of young women and young girls that message me and talk about i didnt even expect this kind of stuff but youre an inspiration, i love seeing girls talk about football, i wish i could do that. If it werent for them, i probably would have packed this up ages ago. Zahid lalani, bbc news.
