Germanys Public Health institute has warned there could be up to 100,000 deaths if the third wave spreads unchecked, and new restrictions are coming into force in poland, as cases have soared by more than a third. Lets speak to our correspondent in warsaw, adam easton. Adam, looking at the figures coming out of poland at the moment, it does look like they need to take some quite strict measures, extra measures. Took us through what is being done there . And in germany, as you mentioned, the Public Health institute has warned that infections could rise to 100,000 a day, five times the amount we have seen in recent days. The Health Minister there also said if the Infection Rate goes unchecked, then the german Health System will be under severe pressure and not be able to cope from next month. More than 90,000 Police Officers have been deployed to parts of france with high levels of coronavirus to carry out stringent checks. It comes as the country tackles its third wave of the pandemic. Those living in High Risk Areas currently arent allowed to travel more than six miles from home, unless its an emergency. France has placed another three regions, now, into a partial lockdown. And wales have won their second six nations title in three years after scotland defeated france last night in a delayed game but with an ongoing pandemic means muted celebrations. Somebody ordered wooden flooring from france, sent it to china to be fixed, being sent it to china to be fixed, being sent to shropshire, and it is stuck in there somewhere. The sent to shropshire, and it is stuck in there somewhere. In there somewhere. The latest attem ts in there somewhere. The latest attempts to in there somewhere. The latest attempts to refloat in there somewhere. The latest attempts to refloat that in there somewhere. The latest attempts to refloat that huge i in there somewhere. The latest attempts to refloat that huge vessel have ended in failure. Our science editor, david shukman, is looking at what can be done to get the ship moving again. 50 how on earth do you try to budge something that weighs 200,000 tonnes . What about tug boats, shoving against the side . Well, that was tried and it didnt work the bow is jammed too deep into a bank of the canal. So this huge vessel with its towering load of containers still looms over the egyptian desert, paralysing a key artery in the network of global trade. So, what can be done . Well, having another go with the tug boats while digging out the bank to free the bow, or using dredgers to clear away sand from under the ship to deepen the canal. That has now started. But if that doesnt do the job, the next and most extreme option is to remove some containers to lighten the load, in the hope that the ship rises. This kind of thing has been done before, but its never quick. A similar sized vessel also ran aground in sand and they successfully refloated her after excavating and with the support of tugs. It took six days. Whats extraordinary is how one ship can cause such a massive trafficjam. More than 230 vessels are now stuck, and all this reveals how much depends on this vital link. About £7 billion worth of goods travel through it every day and in all, it carries Something Like 12 of global trade, and all that hinges on getting one ship moving again. And as the waiting drags on, there are other routes much longer and much more expensive. So might the Shipping Industry have to go for them . To do so, of course, involves somewhere between seven, eight to 12 days extra steaming, Extra Fuel Consumption and so forth, but it is definitely an option. One of the other disadvantages is the Weather Conditions around the Cape Of Good Hope are very often quite severe and, of course, the ships then would have to pass through the Gulf Of Guinea area which has been plagued by a very worrying level of piracy in recent years. All this will hold up deliveries to British Ports like felixstowe, which might eventually affect consumers a reminder of a Trading System that we all just take for granted. Its a huge supply chain, right from the manufacture in china right through to the shelf, and people just expect it to be there. And this has reallyjust highlighted just how fragile that supply chain is. There is one hope a spring tide this weekend may raise the water level enough to free the ship, but no one is banking on that. David shukman, bbc news. Its the most extraordinary story. It really is. It going to end, when is it going to end . When are we going to get our rubik s cube is. We need to get the weather, because its looking good. What about this mini heatwave . Yes, indeed. Youve seen it, havent you. A lot going on really. Actually next week, even into this weekend, lets get this weekend out. As a cold start this morning. Some sunshine for a while but were looking at it turning wet and windy from the atlantic but that will bring milder rare. At the moment and at colder air, temperatures are close to freezing in many parts of the country. We look up to the west and well see milder, wetter and windy weather. This morning, still the risk of one or two icy patches given those wintry showers. They will mate away. Over the next few hours, it will be dry with some sunshine. We will start to see rain in the early afternoon across Northern Ireland, pushing into Western Scotland. In the winds pick up as well. Temperatures hitting double figures. Colder than that i suspect this evening, gales to the north west of the uk. Winds picking up. Cloud increasing. Rain moving in from the west. But because it is windy overnight, because there is more cloud and rain around to many areas. The clocks change overnight. The weather changes as well, its going to be a windier day as well. That will probably move away from wales and the midlands moving across Northern England, Northern Ireland and gradually through the day stop but further south, more on the way of cloud but much drier weather. Perhaps even a bit of sunshine. It is going to be a windy day. Its going to be strong, Gale Force Winds but the air is going to be less cold. Were looking at temperatures getting into double figures in scotland, of 14 or 15 and eastern parts of england. But its going to get much warmer than that. Except maybe towards the north west corner of the uk stop there is a lot of rain early next week on the north West Of Scotland but elsewhere, High Pressure will be in charge and will bring in all this mild warm air up from the south and south west. Temperatures will continue to rise through monday, tuesday, the peak of the temperatures on tuesday, 23 24. You can see by easter, much colder. A real Rollercoaster Ride. You ruined it at the end. We were enjoying it. I dont make this up. A lot of people think i do. Thank you for being with us on the saturday morning. Now its time for the film review, with mark kermode. Hello and welcome to the film review, with me, mark kermode, rounding up the best new movies available for viewing in the home while we look forward to cinemas reopening in may. One of the most high profile releases of the week is ammonite, the second feature from writer director francis lee. Like his brilliant debut gods own country, this is another Love Story Set against the backdrop of a bracing british locale in this case, the sea battered coast of lyme regis. Waves crashing. Mary . Look whats fallen down. The rock thing. Its too big. Impossible to move. Kate winslet plays the 19th century palaeontologist mary anning, whose class and gender have kept her outside of the snobby geological establishment. Saoirse ronan is charlotte murchison, a young woman plagued with melancholia, whose Husband Persuades Mary to take her in and help her to recuperate. My husband. Your husband left you. But first, charlotte seems too fragile for the hard knock s lifestyle of searching for Hidden Treasures on the beach, but shes made of sturdier stuff, and soon, her and mary become friends and then lovers. Characters has ruffled some feathers, to which the film maker responded by stating . Its a forceful point perfectly made, but in fact, its issues of class and gender, rather than sexual orientation, that seem to lie at the heart of lees film. Its in the british museum, with its fancy, made up name, ichthyosaurus. While Ralph Fiennes autodidactic archaeologist basil brown was snubbed by the snobbiest establishment in the dig, winslet s anning faces the Double Whammy of being both largely self taught and a woman. This, at a time when the Geological Society of london, for example, was a men only enclave. More problematic, i think, is the chilly tone of the film, which reminded me somewhat of the austere mood of michael winterbottoms jude, an early critical triumph for kate winslet. Both films have much to admire artistically, but also left me rather cold. You can find ammonite on a wide range of digital platforms. Sticking with british films, The Banishing Is A 3os set Haunted House chiller from christopher smith, whose cv ranges from the death line style Subway Chiller creep through the satirical slasher severance, to the mediaeval romp, black death. Silence. Whats this room . Mummy says youre not to go there. Excuse me . Mummy says youre forbidden. Jessica Brown Findlay is marianne, a reverends wife who moves into a dusty home full of creaks, shadows and secrets. Anya Mckenna Bruce is adelaide, a young girl who seems to fall under the influence of strange forces, turning her against marianne and leading her back into the houses dark history. Are you talking about the voices . What did you hear . It was nothing. Its a history thats only too familiar to sean harris flamehead Spiritualist Harry and to john lynchs strangely sinister malachi, whos placed this family within these dangerous walls. Metal clangs. Hauntingly lensed by cinematographer sarah cunningham, The Banishing Is Atmospheric fare that leads its audience down creepy corridors and shadowy tunnels, with echoes of everything from the haunting to the shining with just a hint of the orphanage. Addie . There are flaws the Background Plot about the rise of nazism never quite falls into place, and this doesnt have the pleasing chinese puzzle intricacy of smiths seabound thriller triangle. But it does have an evocative score by toydrum, whose film credits include alice lowes prevenge and who once again lend a touch of magic. The banishing is on a range of digital platforms now. A few years ago, ceyda torun s Wonderful Documentary Kedi told the story of street cats in istanbul, concluding that cats can teach us to love life and learn to laugh again. Now, elizabeth los stray turns its cameras on istanbuls canine population, offering an extraordinarily intimate portrait of the dogs whose lives also tell us much about ourselves. Lively violin music. Speaking turkish. At the centre of the film is zeytin, An Olive Eyed Creature who we see negotiating the hustle and bustle of istanbul, a city in which it is illegal to euthanise or imprison stray dogs. Using gps trackers and unobtrusive cameras, lo follows an array of dogs, documenting their lives in impressively naturalistic fashion. Meanwhile, the film draws subtle but unavoidable parallels with the citys homeless population, like the young Syrian Refugees who sleep in a Building Site and who take solace in the company of the dogs who sometimes seem better treated than them. In kedi, it was suggested that dogs think that human beings are god, while cats think that human beings are gods intermediaries. Here, were treated to the thoughts of greek philosopher diogenes, with intertitles telling us that humans live artificially and hypocritically and would do well to study the dog. You can study stray in virtual cinemas and on demand now. From istanbul to colombia, where this years injury for the best International Feature oscar was memories of my father, adapted from an acclaimed memoir about hector abad gomez, written by his son hector abad faciolince. Javier camara is wonderful in the central role as a physician turned University Lecturer with a Strong Social conscience, who speaks out against injustice and inequality. But while his firmly held political views make him a target for those attempting to quash dissent, its his role as a father who takes greatest pride in his family thats at the centre of this episodic yet engrossing film. Directed by fernando trueba, whose varied cv ranges from the spanish oscar winner belle epoque to the gorgeous animation chico rita, memories of my father is a film born of a desire to celebrate the goodness in people. Movies always talk about psychopaths, Serial Killers and utter imbeciles, trueba has said, adding that was an opportunity that wouldnt come my way so often. Thats a sentiment that runs throughout the movie, in which the distant past is shot in rich, saturated hues, while more recent scenes are in black and white, a counterintuitive but highly effective technique that juxtaposes The Vividness Of Childhood Memories with the more monochrome reality of adult life. Memories of my father is available on curzon home cinema. Now, one of the standout offerings at this years sundance and South By Southwest Film Festivals was violation, a riveting and sometimes shocking canadian drama that premiered at toronto in 2020, and is now available on the streaming service shudder. Tense music. Co writer and director Madeleine Sims fewer stars as miriam, sister to anna maguires greta, with whom resentment seem to lurk behind the smiles. I miss you. Do you . Yeah, i miss what we used to be like. Miriam when her own relationship with caleb hits the rocks, miriam shares a fireside evening with gretas husband dylan, with terrible consequences. Dylan all im saying is you and me. Were in this together. I know weve hurt each other, | but we care about each other. Just get off. Intriguingly, Violation Intercuts between the revelations of what happened that night with the repercussions that follow, creating a narrative tension that keeps the audience on edge while also offering a bold new take on the revenge genre. There are shades of the nature is satan s Church Mantra from lars von trier s antichrist in the almost mythical rural setting, along with an unforgiving physicality that put me in mind of kieslowskis A Short Film About Killing and danny boyles shallow grave. Thats a heady whole cocktail, and the film certainly packs a powerful punch. But be warned violation is not for the faint hearted. You can find it now on shudder. Ill leave you with news that Tom And Jerry the battling Cat And Mouse whose short films date back to the 40s now have a 21st century feature, combining live action with digital animation. Listen here, mr mouse. 0h . I need thisjob. So, simply put, this is a hotel, and youre a mouse, so. Chloe grace moretz stars as kayla, who scams her way into a job at a swanky new hotel due to host a lavish celebrity wedding, only to have her plan scuppered and sometimes assisted by the titular pair. Jerry giggles. Having become tv staples in the 60s and having their first full feature film in the 90s, after a couple cameo appearances, Tom And Jerry have stirred controversy over the years for everything from racial stereotyping to excessive violence. The latter is certainly on display here, with tom getting bashed, smashed, snapped, ejected, electrocuted, hit in the face with an iron, and on the fingers with a bowling ball, all to no lasting effect. Which is, of course, slapstick business as usual. Clearly determined to move things on a bit, director tim story and writer Kevin Costello have the Cat And Mouse learn to put aside their differences, and build the plot around a multicultural celebration that also enables them to have Elephants Wreaking Havoc in upmarket manhattan. Its hardly vintage fare, and theres the usual preponderance of knowing gags about Copyright Infringement and silence of the lambs to keep the adults smirking, while the kids giggle at characters hitting each other with heavy objects. As usual, the old ones are still the best. Tom and jerry is available from a range of digital retailers. Thats it for this week. Thanks for watching the film review. As the threat. We have some sunshine for a while after that fades, then more comes in from the atlantic. Rain for Northern Ireland later in the day and Western Scotland, as well as when picking up as well. It will eventually lift temperatures to ten, 11 degrees, not that one, ab a few degrees colder in scotland after the chilly start this morning. Some windy weather on the way for this evening, at least in the north west. Wet weather, too, clouds, increasing rain, thickening, iwas wet weather, too, clouds, increasing rain, thickening, i was going to be great in the south and south east. Those damages are creeping up a few degrees on sunday, so we are making double figures in scotland, 12 in the central belt, Isa 15 In Eastern Parts of england. , and is going to get warmer. Not maybe in the north west of the country, in North Western scotland, a lot of rain in the next few days without Weather Front hanging around, but elsewhere, we have High Pressure moving in, and that will bring the warmth from the south and south west and in the sunshine it really will feel warm out there. We have temperatures rising on monday and tuesday, probably the peak of the temperatures on tuesday, 23 or 24. That is in the South East Of England and east anglia. Frustration for Kamala Harris, frustration for republicans, frustration all around. Word does responsibility lie . To credit donald trump, hasjoe biden made the situation worse and is this a problem with no obvious solution . Lets work through it starting with the numbers. Here is the Us Mexico Border, more than 3000 kilometres long, the most frequently crossed International Border in the world. This graphic shows the number of encounters with us border patrol. You will see a peak in 2019, then a sharp fall, then a rise in 2020 so before joe sharp fall, then a rise in 2020 so beforejoe Biden Took Office and we should note, but this time of year, march 2021 is higher than three previous years. Also, look at this. Number of unaccompanied is rising. That started under president trumpeted is increased more rapidly under President Biden. And we know whether are coming from. Some from mexico, others from guatemala, honduras, el salvador and nicaraguans on the question at the heart of their stories and this issue for the white house is why they are heading to the us. This is one reason. These pictures show the aftermath of Hurricane Ayota last year. Many lost homes. In the pandemic which has disrupted everything, creating reasons to leave and reasons to delayjourneys. Both explain the current surge on the borders and drug cartels, political repression and poverty, all of these reasons leading people to conclude that the us might be their best, perhaps only hope. The bbc s sophie long spoke to some people heading to the border. These boys and fled violence and poverty. They dont know who President Biden he is. Before the new president , we didnt have these kinds of numbers coming across. We see children all the time. We caught one on monday coming from bolivia that was ten years old, by his cell. Does this add up . Joe biden is only two months into his presidency. Can we really connect him to whats happening . Tojudgejoe biden, we need to look at the numbers but also at how the us is treating people. Tim the democratic congresswoman alexandria because joe cortez democratic congresswoman alexandria Becausejoe Cortez has tweeted about the children situation, saying . And these pictures i showed you earlier were released by another democrat, a texas congressman who wants to show people whats happening. An underlying all this concern from across the political spectrum is the question of whether the president has perhaps been naive because make no mistake, americans load the child separation policy, many wanted the Biden Administration to treat children differently, to treat them better, but changing the Policy Straightaway before facilities are ready risks and influx and risks children ending up in unacceptable conditions. And some would argue it also doesnt address the more fundamental issue here because the border between the us is largely closed at the moment, because of the pandemic and thousands of people are waiting in makeshift camps like these but of course the border wont stay closed forever and when it opens, just like his predecessors, joe biden will need to outline how him plans to manage americas borders when many, many people want to get in. As Sabrina Rodriguez writes in to that, some would add that while the work on the border is urgent, its actually americas role in the region beyond its borders that may offer the longer term solution. Have a listen Tojonathan Blitzer from the new yorker. Bidens pitch to the American People was in part simply that isnt donald trump, that he would follow the signs on the pandemic, stop spreading misinformation. This was a low bar. Immigration is harder, much harder and cramped Detention Centres filling up with unaccompanied children is a long way from joe bidens vision of america but thats whats happening in his next move matters both to those children and his presidency. Our top story, people over the age of 70 could start receiving booster jabs from september to help protect them from other variants of coronavirus. Yes, the vaccines minister, Nadhim Zahawi, said the programme would most likely be rolled out in the autumn, if its required. And health and social care staff and the clinically vulnerable would also be among the first in line for the doses, as simon jones reports. On track, the government is confident of offering all adults the first of two doses of a Covid Vaccine by the end ofjuly, but now its looking further ahead. The vaccines minister has told the telegraph that the most vulnerable could be given a third dose as early as september. The government says the extended Opening Hours will help shoppers return safely to the high street, protectjobs, and reduce pressure on public transport. Any effect on the number of coronavirus cases will need to be closely monitored. Simon jones, bbc news. Ten people have been arrested in bristol after the police took action overnight to clear the third mass protest in the city in a week. Around 1,000 people had gathered to oppose law changes that would give officers more powers to restrict demonstrations. Tim allman reports. For the third time in less than a week, police clash with protesters on the streets of bristol. The demonstration had been largely peaceful, but just after ten oclock, officers told people to disperse, then they moved in. Wearing helmets and carrying shields, they moved forward, trying to force protesters to leave. There appared to be minor scuffles. Some officers using batons as they confronted the demonstrators. Police said projectiles, including eggs and glass bottles were thrown at them, and lasers were shone in theirfaces. All this happening close to bridewell police station, the scene of sundays first kill the bill demonstration. This described as the worst violence the city had seen in many, many years. Last night, that anger was felt once more. Protesters insisting their freedom to demonstrate is being taken away. But avon and Somerset Police said they would not tolerate violent disorder. Yes, Tourist Accommodation can reopen this morning and six people from two households can now meet out outside in wales and in private gardens. Hywel griffith reports. Time to head to the highest peaks, Orjust Breathe in some sea air. With Travel Restrictions now at an end within wales, plenty of people are desperate to reacquaint themselves with the countryside and coast. But there s a warning keep away from crowds, and have an alternative trip in mind if you find green spaces filling up. We are expecting our hot spot areas to get busy, and we would advise people to maybe, you know, have a couple of plans up their sleeve, so that if they arrive in one place and it s busy and they re not comfortable being there, they ve already got a plan b. Last summer, after the first lockdown, sunny weather saw people swarm to places like snowdonia, making some local communities feel anxious. Natural resources wales, which manages large areas of the countryside, says this time people must be careful to protect themselves and the environment. There have also been warnings from people outside wales to stay away, unless theirjourney is essential, with the requirement to stay at home still in place around the rest of the uk. All lorry and Van Drivers Entering Britain from the eu except the Republic Of Ireland may be required to take a covid test from april 6, if they will stay for more than 48 hours. That s according to the road haulage association, which also says the fine for failing to comply with the rules could be as much as £2,000. The Department For Transport has not confirmed the move. A number of eu countries are introducing new restrictions in an effort to control a third wave of covid infections. Germany s Public Health institute has warned there could be up to 100,000 deaths if the third wave spreads unchecked, and new restrictions are coming into force in poland, as cases have soared by more than a third. Our warsaw correspondent adam easton sent this report. Poland is seeing all time highs for new infections, three times this week it has broke the record. And from today it was introducing heightened restrictions, that s closing nurseries, preschools, hair salons and large diy and furniture stores. That s on top of a National Partial lockdown which was introduced just last weekend, which saw the closure of shopping centres, hotels, all sporting and cultural facilities. So the Infection Rate is accelerating here so quickly that people, including the Prime Minister here, mateusz morawiecki, say poland is facing its most difficult moment since the pandemic began, and if the Infection Rate is not slowed, then the Health System here will basically not be able to cope. And it is notjust in poland of course, we are seeing in the region, the czech republic, hungary, very high death rates. Also in germany, as you have mentioned, the Public Health institute has warned that infections could rise to 100,000 a day, that is five times the amount we have seen in recent days. And the Health Minister there has also said if the Infection Rate goes unchecked, then the german Health System will be under severe pressure and not be able to cope from next month. More than 90,000 Police Officers have been deployed to parts of france with high levels of coronavirus to carry out stringent checks. It comes as the country tackles another wave of the pandemic. Those living in High Risk Areas currently aren t allowed to travel more than six miles from home, unless it s an emergency. France has placed another three regions into a partial lockdown. Over the next few weeks, Lockdown Restrictions will start to ease, with a view to reopening the economy. We heard yesterday that when non essential retail reopens, shops in england can stay open until 10pm. We re joined now by the shadow chancellor, anneliese dodds. Good morning to you. We see quite a lot of restrictions loosened in hospitality, so that cafes and restaurants can be open on pavements, et cetera do mark i do think it is important that we make sure the workforce in those retailers are protected. Of course, for a long time in this country we have protected sundays for many shops so people can have that family time. That must be fortified when we change restrictions now. In time. I know you have been doing calculations about how well families may be affected by the chancellor s most recent budget. You talk us through that and also specifically how many families you think might be affected by what you perceive to be extra Financial Burdens . Absolutely. So we are seeing extra Financial Burdens . Absolutely. So we are seeing in extra Financial Burdens . Absolutely. So we are seeing in fact extra Financial Burdens . Absolutely. So we are seeing in fact the so we are seeing in fact the majority of households across the uk being impacted by the chancellor s increasing council tax. Many people watching this will be aware because the bills are already through. Council tax is going up by either 4 or 5 up and down the country, that is a very, very big increase, actually, compared to what people have seen in previous years. That was a Central Government decision. The server lives conservatives increasing that, because they decided not to back local authorities. Council tax increase will be affecting us, the majority of households up and down the country, and then you have layered on top of that the other hits to Household Finances that the conservatives are pushing through at this stage. You have got for a larger number of families, many of them being working families in these cases, a reduction in the universal credit they will be receiving. You look at paid healthcare assistance, that would impact on them, that reduction is coming through in autumn. And then that real terms pay cut being applied, for example, two nurses. I have spoken to a number of them, and a number of Healthcare Workers over a number of days. I visited a university hospital, and just a few days ago they were really concerned by the impact of that real time pay cut. They do the job out of love but they cannot survive on thin air. As one of them said to me. That, coupled with the changes and that frees any personal allowance which will be impacting on everyone who pays income tax, there is a huge number of things to do in the country that will have a very Significant Impact on people s Significant Impact on peoples finances. ,. , finances. Your being a disingenuous, arent you . Finances. Your being a disingenuous, arent you . With finances. Your being a disingenuous, arent you . With the finances. Your being a disingenuous, arent you . With the reference i finances. Your being a disingenuous, arent you . With the reference to i aren t you . With the reference to the universal credit reduction, it was a £20 uplift which the government said they would extend until october. Government said they would extend until october until october. Sorry, if they make . Im not until october. Sorry, if they make . Im not being until october. Sorry, if they make . Im not being disingenuous. I m not being disingenuous. Actually, as you say, that extension is only until october. We know that is only until october. We know that is the time when unemployment is likely to be spiking, that is the time when all of the Economic Experts have suggested we will see that very significant increase in unemployment. And actually, to be reducing back down again that six social security, at a time when more and more people will be relying on it, when they will not be able to increase their hours will get new work, will be placing large numbers of households in financial difficulty. And so i think it is actually very important, actually, that this is discussed and government changes their approach to and about council tax, this is just the government giving some allowance to councils to raise or increase their Council Taxes by a certain amount. ,. ,. ,. , amount. But it will be down to local areas whether amount. But it will be down to local areas whether they amount. But it will be down to local areas whether they do amount. No, i am afraid it is not an increase Counciltax Bills . No, i am afraid it is not an allowance, afraid it is not an allowance, actually. In the Spending Review the Chancellor Set out, it was made very, very clear, i in small print, which was not presented to the press, it was made clear in the small print, that the government expects local authorities to be raising council tax to 5 . Cupid though if i canjust ask cupid though if i can just ask the question again, are you in. You instructing Labour Councils not to increase their Council Tax Bills at all then . ,. , ~ increase their Council Tax Bills at all then . ,. , ~. , all then . Look, the local authorities are in authorities are in terrible positions and i talk to them up and down the country, they are in a terrible position because unless they make a substantial increase in they make a substantial increase in the majority are actually going up to either four the majority are actually going up to eitherfour or 5 , the majority are actually going up to either four or 5 , unless they make that increase because of what Central Government has provided to them, because Central Government has gone back on the commerce, they would have to see services cut back even further, so the vast majority of councils, in fact many conservative ones, are increasing the council tax all the way up to 5 . Virtually every other one is taking it up to 4 , that increase. What does that mean in concrete terms . An enormous increase in the council tax that is paid by ordinary families who may already be struggling, and the problem isn t just for them, it is for the strength of our economy because that s money that people won t be spending on the high street and in Small Businesses and we really need currently to be building up demand, not knocking it back on the way sadly the conservatives are. It sadly the conservatives are. Id like to ask about the bristol protests. We are absolutely clear that we do not support a piece of legislation that is leaving particularly women and girls unsafe and whenever there is violence, it is completely unacceptable. The Shadow Home Secretary has been clear on that. In fact, Bristol City Council as i understand was urging people not to be engaging in protests like that. It was saying to them, we have a political point to make, and you should make it through other means. We need to get some weather now. People are making plans for the weekend. The sun is shining philosophers. We been talking this morning about how warm it is going to get but we got a long way to go to get there. This is a weather watch a picture taken a short time ago in county durham. There is snow on the ground. We had snow showers over the past few hours. We ve got the white sleet and snow falling, blue is rain. The important thing to notice is the showers for the northern half of the uk are becoming fewer. With sunshine across all areas. Coming in from the west, we have cloud coming up, he s picking up and rain coming into Northern Ireland into Western Scotland later. Slow rising temperatures today. After a chilly start for all of us. Just about making double figures. Chillier in scotland. Windy weather with that rain. With a cloud continuing, many parts of the country will see outbreaks of rain. It s going to be largely dry and southern parts of england. Windy as a result of that. A lot milder than it was last night. As we head into tomorrow, we ve got this rain around. It will clear away from wales. Northern ireland, working its way further northwards. It does become dry across many parts of england and wales. A lot of cloud around, a bit of sunshine here and there. Wind stronger tomorrow, strong, perhaps even gale force, but gradually those temperatures are rising. A few degrees warmer tomorrow compared with today. As we head into the beginning of next week, mixed fortunes. Towards the north west of the uk, a Weather Front. A lot of rain. Higher pressure elsewhere. Not as windy and the many parts of the country, away from the north and north west, dry and increasing sunshine. As a result, this is when we see temperatures climbing. Highs of around 20 or 21 degrees across east anglia. That warmth coming in on the south to south westerly breeze. The wind eases but as we head into next week, the Wind Direction Changes and apple have further impact on the weather. Forthe apple have further impact on the weather. For the beginning of next week, away from the north west, it s getting warm and sunny and temperatures peaking on tuesday at 23 or 24. Then as you can see, further into next week, towards easter, it looks like it will be turning colder. It looks like we ve got a taste of some of the much of the country. A taste of summer, who would believe it . As lockdown in wales eases today and people prepare for restrictions to lift in england on monday, let s catch up on how covid numbers are looking. The latest figures show there were 6,187 new Coronavirus Infections recorded in the latest 24 hour period, 70 deaths were reported in the latest 24 hour period, that s people who died within 28 days of a positive covid 19 test. More than 324,000 people have had their first dose of a Covid Vaccine, in the latest 24 hour period, bringing the total to more than 29 million. We can speak now to gp dr sarahjarvis. We will talk to some of the figures in the events with sarah. On the front page of the telegraph this morning, we ve been mentioning on this, this report from the vaccines minister but boosterjabs could be rolled out from september to give people an extra bit of protection, particularly against those new variants we keep hearing about. Does that sound like a realistic plan to you, septemberfor boosters . Brute that sound like a realistic plan to you, september for boosters . We have already been you, september for boosters . We have already been warned as gps that it i already been warned as gps that it would likely becoming so firming up what we suspected was just down the line but there are some concerns, certainly for gps. Every year before the pandemic, we give about 15 million blue vaccines largely across primary care and in general practice so far, the vast majority of those 29 million vaccines you just heard about four covid have been given and of course once we get to the 32 million we move onto another 21 million we move onto another 21 million or so people under 50 who need them, possibly ending byjuly. In the meantime, all the other things we need to do in general practice. Come september, we would very much be gearing up normally for ourflu vaccination for very much be gearing up normally for our flu vaccination for this year which that start around the first week of sober so it will be a tall order. ,. ,. , week of sober so it will be a tall order. ,. ,. ,. ,. , order. I imagine a lot of people watching might be thinking, these jabs or boosters will be checked and certified and make sure they are safe but if somebody had their first covid jab injanuary and a second one in april, and then flewjab, there could be for the vaccines in the space of six or eight months. Also concerns about that, yes . Brute space of six or eight months. Also concerns about that, yes . Space of six or eight months. Also concerns about that, yes . We do know very much that the vaccine concerns about that, yes . We do know very much that the vaccine is concerns about that, yes . We do know very much that the vaccine is safe i very much that the vaccine is safe and fantastically effective compared to what we were hoping for even four or five to what we were hoping for even four orfive months ago but to what we were hoping for even four or five months ago but the orfive months ago but the point about these vaccines is they do seem to be significantly less about give against some of the variance. Particularly the south african variant. The good news is that vaccines can be tweaked very quickly and because we re not making significant changes to them, we make them more effective against a different variants like the south african one without having to go through all the big trials, apart from the safety trials obviously already done. To see that they work against the new variants. They can be reduced quickly. Yes, people may be having four injections rather than the usual one flewjab or maybe two if they get their pneumonia jab but frankly, i m thinking it s a small price to pay for safety. But frankly, im thinking its a small price to pay for safety. Going forward, small price to pay for safety. Going forward. Is small price to pay for safety. Going forward, is this small price to pay for safety. Going forward, is this the small price to pay for safety. Going forward, is this the new small price to pay for safety. Going forward, is this the new normal, i small price to pay for safety. Going forward, is this the new normal, we just as you get used to it, being at your surgery regularly, for boosters, and this becomes part of the rhythm of our medical lives. I think its highly likely we will be think it s highly likely we will be having boosters of the vaccine. Whether we will need the original course twice, we hope not. Most people will get some immunity but they will need a boost to top it up and protect against new variants so we don t yet know how long the immunity from the vaccine lasts, we hope enough for us to reach the next season as it were, we don t yet know how many variants will be down the line but certainly, two vaccines per year, one flew, one covid is likely to be normalfor some time. We year, one flew, one covid is likely to be normal for some time. We ust went through to be normal for some time. We ust went through the i to be normal for some time. We just went through the figures, the latest | went through the figures, the latest statistics and they show that debts are still falling, the r rate is unchanged, maybe a bit are still falling, the r rate is unchanged, maybe a hit up in the week but cases seem to have plateaued, 5000, 6000 new cases. Is that a concern that despite lockdown, they are not dropping as much. A, a, a, lockdown, they are not dropping as much. A, a, , lockdown, they are not dropping as much. A, a, much. Yorkshire and the humber still has the highest proportion in the country, possibly up proportion in the country, possibly up in the north west and yorkshire and the humber but in other areas, its eitherflat or its either flat or still dropping slightly. We knew there was a reason going slightly. We knew we couldnt open everything up with the big bang, we know what the effect of opening up schools is, its not ideal, things are plateauing, but its not disastrous. Thank you. There are rumours of some very sunny skies ahead. Warmth ahead. We will have to wait until next week. I suspect the weather will next weekend there needs to be moisture in blue as rain. Living a dusting of snow here and there. The cloud is going to increase from the atlantic and maybe some showers coming back into wales and the south west. The thick cloud patchy rain, into westernmost parts of scotland with the wind is picking up as well. So after a promising but chilly start, temperature is slowly rising into double figures but the winds are strengthening, windy overnight, the main rain coming across northern parts of the uk into wales, perhaps even the midlands, largely dry across southern parts of england and more showery in scotland. Because its going to be windy tonight, cloud around and may not far away, harder than it was last night. Heading into tomorrow, a cloudy start the many affecting the far north of england, it gets wetter in scotland. England and wales getting much drier, cloud around, sunshine now and then. Its going to be a windier day than today stop the air is coming from a milder source. Temperatures will be a few Degrees Higher tomorrow. Temperatures will be a few Degrees Highertomorrow. But temperatures will be a few Degrees Higher tomorrow. But there is warmer weather still to come. Not for a while, across the north west of the uk. A lot of rain early next week. Elsewhere, breezy day on monday. The wind is not as strong. There is a ran across Northern Areas of scotland. Elsewhere, drive. That really gives those temperatures a boost. I7 really gives those temperatures a boost. 17 degrees in aberdeenshire. That warmth is pushing its way northwards during tuesday, and the Wind Direction Changes after that stop as we head towards the easter weekend. When from the north, a real Rollercoaster Ride over the course of next week. We got that warmth building for the first few days, probably the peak of the heat will be tuesday, 23, maybe 24 degrees on tuesday. You can see how those temperatures do drop away, as we get that northerly wind. Were back to the sort of temperatures we are today by the end of next week. Make the most of that warmth early in the week. Astonishingly high figures. Looking really good for the start of outdoor socialising. As soon as they drop the kids off at school on monday morning. It sounds like a very good spot. A lot of kids not being picked up. Its time to click. Hey, welcome to click hope youre doing ok. Now, its not the case everywhere but some countries are just now starting to think about what life may be like in a post pandemic world, and that could mean hanging onto some of the ideas that have helped us through lockdown. More services have moved online and for many, that has proved a lifeline. And if youve had a life changing event like having a baby there have been a few on the click team then here is an idea that could come in handy. As restrictions ease, it should be getting easier to see a doctor in real life but video consultations, which went mainstream in the pandemic, are here to stay. The likes of push doctor and babylon have offered digital consultations through the Uks National Health Service for some time. But new Specialist Services are on the up too. This instant messaging app provides immediate reassurance and guidance from experienced paediatricians. First time mum hannah started using juno after having twins leo and xander. I thought there may be something going on that theyd caught between them, and ijust felt a bit isolated and i really wanted some real time advice. Sometimes, all you need is to be able to say is this normal . So were trying to really filter the things that parents dont need to worry about and escalate the things that they do need to worry about and actually, instant messaging is a really good way of doing that. Until now, juno has been free but it is due to become a subscription service, and its i2 hours a day support is set to become available 24 7. There is definitely a chance that parents might overuse it and create more worry. There is also no guarantee that you will get the same consultant every time. But the check up i did for my 8 year old daughters eczema did go smoothly. I uploaded some photographs you can upload video as well if you want to and the consultation did provide me with a really useful treatment plan. The only issue was that if i was then to use the cream i needed, well, istill would need a prescription from a doctor to be able to get it. But this is notjust about healthcare for kids. Lots of nhs apps now help with specific conditions, connecting you to experts and other patients going through the same illnesses. So googling to find resources and find information for your condition topic can be a wild west and it can be scary. The social Network Healthunlocked has 700 condition focused online communities, and they are all monitored by official health charities. So you are connecting with a group of thousands of other patients with a collective experience of, you know, many, many years. The Charity Partners of the communities also provide that extra level of access to resources and knowledge and understanding. Of course, therell always be times when visiting a gp is best, but perhaps the worried hours spent searching symptoms online could soon become a thing of the past as expert answers could just be a few taps away, too. Oh, youre employees . Spencer and romana. Well, head to the boardroom. Dave will see you there. Off we go. Are we going backwards . Today, we are popping into our new office to see what all the fuss is about and oh heres the boss can either of you help me to understand these lacklustre results . Run thats the meanest chicken ive ever worked for. Ok, this is corptopia an interactive live play over zoom. Actors take you through the story and every so often, you get to use your facial expressions and hand gestures to play some games. Now, before we started, we were asked to download special animated virtual backgrounds and also facial filters, which are run through the free app snap camera. This is a format it could work for escape rooms, it could work for crime drama, it could work for education, it could work for kids shows. Giving a stream of work to actors and musicians and production staff, where people could remotely work anywhere to put on these shows regularly. This nutty experience was started through creativexr, a 3 month Acceleration Program which helps artists to create new, immersive projects for the arts and culture scene. Its given funding and mentorship to several projects, which begs the question are there any even more immersive experiences in the works . The answer . Of course there are oh, what the heck illjoin in. Which is why later that day, im in my living room prancing about in my dancing pants. Disco music plays. There are four scenes to experience, each with a different feel. Here i am accompanied by gianta ross and the supremes, and in this one which feels im on the set of a broadway melody film from the 30s i get to cancan with some spirals and ballet dance with an enderman from minecraft. It is a crazy pastime for crazy times and it is an opportunity for artists and performers alike to try something new on a captive audience. A quick reminder, though vr may be immersive but you are not really there, you are really here, ijust punched the ceiling ow ah, its all very well that you can mark our your boundaries in vr in the room, but it doesnt account for ceiling height. No, it doesnt and i put a hole in the plasterwork. Dont tell anyone anyway, lets move on lara lewington, i know how you love a good superhero movie i was in one superman returns i was presenting the weather on the monitor in the daily planet newsroom. Show business well, anyway, superman returned again Injustice League four years ago, along with wonderwoman, batman and others, and the response from the audience was. A bit meh. The problem was as the crew finished filming, director zack snyder stepped away from the project for personal reasons. The movie was eventually completed, but with significant changes from snyders original vision. The fans werent happy, snyder wasnt happy and since then, those fans have been piling on the pressure for zack snyders version of the film with a massive internet campaign. The hashtag releasethesnydercut trended everywhere. And in perhaps the biggest piece of fan Service Since sonic the hedgehogs design was changed, the studio listened and snyder got a chance to make his version. He was given an extra 75 million to complete the movie, and a large chunk of that went on special effects. And now, zack snydersjustice league has been released. But the question is how different is it to the original . This world will fall. Like all the others. Steppenwolf first. Showed up briefly. The current design,. The zack snyder design in the post credit scene on batman versus superman. So that that was a nice thing for us that that, i just, you know we didnt have to do anything from scratch, i it wasjust kind of a realisation of that design that already existed and making sure that was up to scratch i and visual effects, you know, four years is an eternity i so making sure since 2017 that it was, looked a plus as far as 2020 technology goes, and then a nice thing from that was so we we did work on the look of him and the way his metal looked in every, uh, i and that but i think the most interesting thing was the character was such a different character in this movie that that has a knock on effect of facial animation is different and then his body motion is different, hes got this aggressive, active armour and that i that turns into being more aggressive in his motion. And being, like, really just leaning in to himl being a different character. One year to the next, we changed the way that we work, we changed the tools that we use to just keep on iterating and making the end result look better and better, so taking something from, like, three, four years ago and then updating it is actually a huge amount of work. The biggest even in shots where we were supposed to just take steppenwolf and swap him out with a new one. First, nothing ever i is ever that easy in visual effects, you know . You pull on a thread of a shot and some, you know, there were a lot of shots we had tojust redo completely and then a lot of shots i where we just did the whole thing, you know, we had a lot of shots that were just brand i new brand new work that needed to be in the moviel to tell that story correctly. Zacks got the chance to go back and do his sort of original vision for it, which is very big i mean, the movie is nearly four hours long, right . So even scenes that we did have already done in 2017, like the themyscira attack, like the History Lesson scene, those are massively expanded from what they were last time around. So theres shots that were completely new to us, there were shots that were taken to a certain stage in 2017 before they got before they got put on hold, got put on ice, and so actually just updating, filling all of that out is a huge amount of work. Darkseid, he actually existed already as well. He was he got to a reasonable point in 2017 before he was cut out and then replaced in those couple of scenes with steppenwolf. Darkseid was was already developed as a concept, as a character design, fairly early in the process four years ago so really, it was a case of us just, you know, bringing him up to scratch, as kevin was saying and so i guess, yeah, i think the iterations you see, like changing from trailer to the final version of the movie, still is essentially the same character, its just we just had a bit more time to finish him off rather than, you know, getting something out for the for a trailer. Its actually more like six months rather than a year that we had to do had to do the work, so its even a shorter amount of time. Visual effects like being strapped to the front i of a speeding train. And you cant you cant you cant reach the brakes| and thats, thats here comes the deadline. 0h, every show, its always like that. I the time. Is now. Whats funny is this version is four hours long. I dont think you wouldve got that if this was in cinemas, but in a world of home streaming, where you can hit pause and go to the loo, it seems to be perfectly ok. Or you could just split it into a few nights or is that not allowed for movies . Dont mention that the fans will eat you alive anyway, that is it from our mere 11. 5 minute version of the programme. The 24 minute version is waiting for you on iplayer right now. And if youre missing us throughout the week, you can find us on social media on youtube, instagram, facebook and twitter at bbcclick. Thanks for watching and well see you soon. Bye bye. Good morning, welcome to breakfast with Rachel Burden and jon kay. Our headlines today. Covid boosterjabs as soon as september. The vaccines minister says they could be offered to the over seventies and front line health staff. A third night of protests in bristol leads to ten arrests. Police say bottles were thrown as officers tried to disperse a thousand demonstators. Lockdown eases in wales the First Uk Nation To Lift Travel restrictions within its borders. Iam finding i am finding out what it means for parts like this. The 6 nations trophy is back in welsh hands, and it was scotland who made sure, of that by beating france in paris, for the first time this century, to end french hopes of winning the title. Good morning, after a chilly start this morning we will have some fun chain for a while, but there is cloud, rain and wind to move in this weekend. But there is something to look forward next week and i will tell you all about that later on. Its saturday the 27th of march. Our top story. People over the age of 70 could start receiving boosterjabs from september to help protect them from other variants of coronavirus. The vaccines minister Nadhim Zahawi said the programme would most likely be rolled out in the autumn, if it is required. Health and social care staff and the clinically vulnerable would also be first in line for the doses, as simonjones reports. On track, the government is confident of offering all adults the first of two doses of a Covid Vaccine by the end ofjuly, but now its looking further ahead. The vaccines minister has told the telegraph that the most vulnerable could be given a third dose as early as september. Nadhim zahawi says the boosterjabs, if needed, would initially go to people over 70 as well as nhs workers and care home staff. Manufacturing in the uk will he stepped up to avoid any issues with the supply chain. The government hopes eight different vaccines will be available by the autumn. One of them could offer protection against three variants in a single dose. It is highly likely we will be having boosters of the Covid Vaccine. Whether we will need the original course twice, i dont know and i hope not. Most people will get some immunity but they will need a booster to top it up and to protect against new variants, so we dont yet know how long the immunity from the vaccine last. We help enough for us to reach the next season. We dont yet know how many variants will be down the line, but i am thinking to vaccine per year, one flew, one covid is likely to be the norm for some time. More than 324,000 people had their first dose of a Covid Vaccine in the latest 24 hour period, bringing the total to more than 29 million. Over three Million People have now had both doses. When nonessential shops reopen in england on april 12 after months of closures they will be allowed to stay open until 10 00 at night, six days a week. The government says the extended Opening Hours will help shoppers return safely to the high street, protectjobs, and reduce pressure on public transport. But any effect on the number of coronavirus cases will need to be closely monitored. Simon jones, bbc news. Werejoined now from our london newsroom by our political correspondentjessica parker. We are getting a sense of what the next few months are going to look like with these boosterjabs but also shops extending their Opening Hours. To get our economy going but looking after the healthy nation. Absolutely, and on the boosterjabs, i think from ministers, this was something that had more of a date for it, as the vaccine minister has done again and it speaks to the confidence that they continue. It is what role new variants can play in the future in terms of tackling the virus. I think even though we knew boosterjabs have been talked about before, it is a reminder when you are looking ahead to autumn that this is going to be a long term battle against coronavirus. We are going to see some changes in england on monday as the road map continues to block done, those changes including up to six people being able to meet outside but maintaining social distancing. The same the stay at home rule is going to end but people still be encouraged to stay local. What the government has been saying over recent weeks and months as they want the road map out of lockdown to be cautious but irreversible, but there is uncertainty hanging over everything. Not least because of fears of a third wave in europe. Ministers have been talking about that going forward. There are still some uncertainty. Ten people have been arrested in bristol after the police took action to clear the third mass protest in the city in a week. Around a thousand people had gathered to oppose law changes that would give officers more powers to restrict demonstrations. Tim allman reports. For the third time in less than a week, police clash with protesters on the streets of bristol. The demonstration had been largely peaceful, butjust after 10 00, officers told people to disperse, then they moved in. Wearing helmets and carrying shields, they moved forward, trying to force protesters to leave. There appeared to be minor scuffles. Tim allman, bbc news. We will hear from a Police Officer on that story after 8 30am this morning. People living in wales can travel unrestricted within its borders from today after the stay local rule was lifted. Its the first uk nation to relax Lockdown Measures since they were re imposed in december. Self contained Tourist Accommodation can reopen from today, and groups of six people from two households can now also meet up outdoors and in private gardens. All lorry and Van Drivers Entering Britain from the eu except the Republic Of Ireland may be required to take a covid test from the 6th april, if they stay more than 48 hours. Thats according to the road haulage association, which also says the fine for failing to comply with the rules could be as much as 2000 pounds. The Department For Transport has not confirmed the move. A number of eu countries are introducing new restrictions in an effort to control a third wave of covid infections. Germanys Public Health institute has warned there could be up to 100,000 deaths if the third wave spreads unchecked, and new restrictions are coming into force in poland. Earlier our warsaw correspondent adam easton told us cases there have soared by more than a third. Poland is seeing all time highs for for new infections, three times this week it has broke the record and todayit week it has broke the record and today it is closing nurseries, preschools, hairsalons today it is closing nurseries, preschools, hair salons and large diy and furniture stores. That is on top of a National Partial lockdown which was introduced last weekend which was introduced last weekend which saw the closure of shopping centres, hotels, all cultural and sporting activities. The Infection Rate is accelerating so quickly that people, including the Prime Minister year, says that poland is facing its most difficult moment sense the pandemic began. The Infection Rate. More than 90,000 Police Officers have been deployed to parts of france with high levels of coronavirus to carry out stringent checks. It comes as the country tackles another wave of the pandemic. Those living in High Risk Areas currently arent allowed to travel more than 6 miles from home, unless its an emergency. France has placed another three regions into a partial lockdown. Talking about a early heatwave. Here is the downside, it doesnt last until the easter weekend. I have still not your best lines, darren. | still not your best lines, darren. I have stolen. Give us the detail. I will try. I have stolen. Give us the detail. Iwill try. We i have stolen. Give us the detail. I will try. We should look forward to someone. Someone will be nice because this morning started off quite cold with temperatures close to freezing. As we go into the weekend we are looking to see some wet and windy weather to spread across many parts of the country, but that internal structure left the temperatures, but the real heat is still to come. This is what is heading away from the atlantic, this mass of cloud will bring rain to many areas. Ahead of it we have had some wintry showers this morning, and a covering of snow over northern hills. Those showers are fading away so we had sunshine for a while, but the cloud comes in from the atlantic. Maybe bernice show s to wales in south west, we have got patchy rain. May be bringing in some showers. Moving into brightness in the afternoon. Double figures, pictured here in scotland. Not only does it turn my cloudy, the winds pick up and it will be windy overnight. We have out rates of rain spilling to many parts of the country, drier in the far south and south east and the rain turns my showery later in scotland but because it is windy, because we have more clout in some areas some rain, it is going to be a lot milder than it is going to be a lot milder than it was a no frost early in the morning. We have got a lot of clout, some outbreaks of rain. That will clear away from wales and the midlands, continue to affect far north of england, Northern Ireland and it will get better across scotland. Outdoor grassroots sport resumes in wales today and england on monday so millions of us are giving our boots, rackets and clubs a clean. It follows the restart in scotland earlier this month, and, in Northern Ireland you only have to wait until next thursday. This is the 3rd time that sports have emerged from a shutdown and all clubs will be hoping all those Zoom Sessions at home, are now a thing of the past. Mikes been finding out how much excitement there is. At last its time to say goodbye to those endless workouts at home in the lounge. As much as we love you, joe wicks farewell to Club Coaching sessions on zoom in the back yard or garden. With the lines marked outside again for the return of grassroots sport. For most of us, the first time in the year. Finally, bella and ryan wontjust be tackling each other before beating dad in goal again. From monday, they can be reunited with team mates for proper matches of the sport. Yes im really excited. Football has been a big part of my life. So, im just happy to have it back. It gives you that freedom. Its like your escape from reality, just being able to run around, and not caring whats going on. Weve pretty much lost over half of the year to no football at all. I theyre not seeing each other. I know theyre getting| very anxious at home, so its getting the fresh air, | exercise, having fun playing with each other again. I first came to the pitches here at lastjuly, Grassroots Sports started to come back after the first lockdown. I remember seeing the relief , the enthusiasm, the excitement on faces of places of all ages. No one thought there would be further months where pitches would be empty. It mentally drains you, whether you are young, five, whether you are an adult, you suffer with your Mental Wellbeing. And Mental Wellbeing is a key to social communication and social, you know, participation. I cannot wait. It will probably be a while before i get back into getting used to it and stuff, but it could be great. To feel like, more normal. Than it is now, to be actually able to see people and, i like, be close to people, because you are playing football. The return of activities will be more immediate this time with safety protocols followed. Team sports can resume today in wales, and from monday, in england, with contact allowed in training and matches played earlier next month. In rugby, some contact is allowed but not scrums or mauls. Sport activities not considered to be high risk can start again. Northern ireland is opening up more gradually from next thursday. This follows the restart in scotland. As people across the uk embrace some Sporting Freedom again. I am speaking to three very excited people in england. Trish, a golfer, anna, and open water swimmer, and tracy, a visually impaired tennis star. This may be the last time you have to chat about this on zoom . Yay to be able to get back on call and not play tennis in my front room, and zoom and everything, that would be totally amazing. I am so excited. Cannot wait to get into that cold water. Its just really important for my Mental Wellbeing. Nothing else quite does it like swimming. I think i am most looking forward to teeing off with a group of My Friends For The First Time i and hoping i can still hit a decent drive down the first fairway. There is so much more optimism this time than back in november when many Grassroots Clubs feared they would not survive. The vast majority have thanks to grants and loans. One of the images of the craziness of life over the last 12 months. Somebody else who is getting back to Something Like normal, we are going to speak a bit later to shane ritchie. Were talking to shane richie about getting back to work after lockdown, with some varied projects on the go from a digital one man play to getting into drag for a smash hit musical. That is about 20 minutes time. Stay with us, plenty more to come. Hello, this is breakfast with Rachel Burden and jon kay. People over the age of 70 could start receiving boosterjabs from september to help protect them from other variants of coronavirus. The vaccines minister Nadhim Zahawi said the programme would most likely be rolled out in the autumn, if it is required. He also said the government hopes to have up to eight different Vaccines Available by that point. Ten people have been arrested in bristol after the police took action to clear the third mass protest in the city in a week. Around 1000 people had gathered to oppose law changes that would give officers more powers to restrict demonstrations. Last sundays riots left 21 officers injured. Lets speak to bristol area commander, superintendent Mark Runacres. Good morning. The third time in a week, this, superintendent. How does last nights protests and violence compare with the other two . Thankfully the protests and violence last night were not as serious as those that we suffered last sunday. But still really disappointing for the city and something we were hoping to avoid. We the city and something we were hoping to avoid. The city and something we were hoping to avoid. We were reporting this morning hoping to avoid. We were reporting this morning ten hoping to avoid. We were reporting this morning ten arrests hoping to avoid. We were reporting this morning ten arrests last night| this morning ten arrests last night for any updates on injuries to any of your officers or anybody else . He will be i aware there is some material, it is not the material we are showing at the moment, this is our own bbc footage, but there has been other media on social media this morning which we have not been able to verify yet showing heavy handed policing in that situation last night, have you seen it and what is your response to it . I night, have you seen it and what is your response to it . Your response to it . I have, jon, i was watching your response to it . I have, jon, i was watching it your response to it . I have, jon, i was watching it come your response to it . I have, jon, i was watching it come through your response to it . I have, jon, i was watching it come through on | was watching it come through on social media myself, i was down at the protest. My reaction to it, we delivered a proportionate policing operation based on the Information Available to us. We sought to deter people from attending during the week because of the threat to Public Health the gathering would propose. But by four oclock, numbers were gathering on college green, up to around 1000 people. We then facilitated a protest demonstration from the group which splintered into two groups. One group went outside bridewell, and we knew the issues that happened there last sunday so officers were deployed to protect that location and officers were deployed to facilitate the march around the city, which is what we did. Later in the evening, officers at the bridewell came under attack again from protesters who were throwing missiles at them. We had made appeal throughout the evening, i did media interviews myself to acknowledge the people have had the opportunity to come into the city and make their voices heard, but now was the time to go home. Many people did and they went home. But those in the group who wanted to peacefully protest make their voices heard and they went home. We were left with some who attacked officers and we responded robustly and effectively to disperse them from the area. I5 to disperse them from the area. Is there a danger when your offices have riot shields and helmets in that kind of situation, obviously they have to protect themselves, but that imagery on the ground can inflame things . Officers are trained in the tactics they will use, we need to provide them with protection, the helmets, shields and protective clothing. But when they are coming under attack, bottles, eggs being thrown, a bicycle pedal, paint, Police Horses coming under attack, we need to respond effectively and robustly. There have been protests effectively and robustly. There have been protests in effectively and robustly. There have been protests in other effectively and robustly. There have been protests in other parts effectively and robustly. There have been protests in other parts of effectively and robustly. There have been protests in other parts of the l been protests in other parts of the uk regarding the same thing, this new Policing Bill. Sometimes large protests, but none of them seem to have descended in the way this has in bristol now three times. What is it about happening in bristol, or what is it about the way you are policing it that has caused it to end in a different way . I wouldnt arree end in a different way . We end in a different way . I wouldnt agree with that, jon. We have end in a different way . I wouldnt agree with that, jon. We have a l end in a different way . I wouldnt i agree with that, jon. We have a long agree with that, jon. We have a long history of effectively facilitating protests in bristol. We have done that extremely effectively and we have gained great support from the local community in bristol with working together with them. It is something we pride ourselves on and the city prides itself on. On sunday we ran what we believe to be proportionate operation to facilitate any gathering. The numbers that came on saturday far exceeded those which we were expecting. Some amongst that group were intent on causing violence against the police. That set the tone for the evening. Using all the Information Available to us through the week, the resources we had available last night was far in excess of what we started with last sunday so we were able to exercise control and deal with any threat and attack if it played out, which is what it did towards the end of the evening. But i stress, many who attended engaged in a peaceful protest and then went home after having had their voices heard. I thank them for that. But others stayed and put the police under attack and we needed to take action and we will deal with that effectively and robustly. Do you have any intelligence effectively and robustly. Do you have any intelligence to effectively and robustly. Do you| have any intelligence to suggest this could happen again . I have spoken to the mayor myself. This isnt what we want to bristol, it is causing us concern. From monday, changes in the legislation will allow us to engage effectively with protest organisers, which is what we have done previously prior to the legislation changes around the covid legislation stopping that from happening. We can facilitate peaceful protest there way we always have in the city without it descending into violence and disorder. , disorder. Superintendent, we appreciate disorder. Superintendent, we appreciate your disorder. Superintendent, we appreciate your time disorder. Superintendent, we appreciate your time after disorder. Superintendent, we appreciate your time after another long night, thank you. Lets talk about sport. Lets talk about wales winning the six nations without kicking a ball. All the welsh fans can celebrate. They have done it, after missing out on the grand slam last weekend, wales had to wait for this week to see if they would be crowned six nations champions. The whole nation back home watching events unfold in paris, in the delayed final match of the tournament. France had to score four tries and beat scotland by 21 points in paris to pip the welsh to the title but they couldnt shake off the visitors. And doohan van der merva, scored a try with time up on the clock. As the scots won by 27 23, their first victory in the french capital for over 20 years. Yeah, it was, erm, a hell of a game, wasnt it . It reminded me of last week, from time to time, with the cards and people coming and going and penalties and missed opportunities. So, yeah, look, it had everything and it was a great game to watch. And following last week, what a tournament its been. But um, certainly from a welsh Point Of View, were over the moon and very, very happy to have won the championship. And its a shame that we couldnt have done it together as a group last week. What a job he has done. Huge congratulations to wales. Former wales and lions centre, jamie roberts, joins us now from cardiff. Congratulations as well, you have just had your second child. Since the autumn nobody gave wales a chance after last years results. Test match rugby is about winning and they have come into this tournament, they have developed youngsters in the autumn and these guys have played a pivotal part in this years campaign. They will want to move on from that quickly, sometimes in sport it takes losing to appreciate what winning looks like and feels like. Hopefully england will bounce back but as i said, it has been a highly competitive tournament and they have gone into the last five minutes. Leigh centurions are back in the super league and they were on course for victory over wigan, three tries putting them 18 0 ahead but they let it slip, and zak hardaker converted a late try to give wigan the win, by 20 18. If yesterdays formula one practice sessions are anything to go by, mercedes may have some decent competition this season, which is under way in bahrain. Lewis hamilton, going for a record eighth world title, was only third quickest, almost a quarter of a second off the pace, which was set by red bulls Max Verstappen and it was mclarens british driver lando norris, who got closest to him, less than a hundredth behind. We thought red bull would be as fast as they are, if not faster. So, we know theyre leading at the moment. Mclaren are looking great, and its great to see them taking this step. It will be interesting to see how the long runs are. Lando norris is one to watch. He was a karting champion younger than lewis hamilton. He does feel like the next generation and he has a brilliant connection with his fans as well. Lewis hamilton is going for a record eighth title this season, and it will be hard to see anybody else but lewis. Zooming off into the distance already. Mike, thank you very much indeed. We have been looking at the unlocking of sport as we get outside and relax. Heres darren with a look at this mornings weather. We have got some warmth and sunshine to come for a while next week. It is a far cry from what we have had at the start of the weekend. A few hours ago temperatures were close to freezing. It is going to turn cloudy, wet and windy for a time this weekend but temperatures will slowly be climbing as well. This is what is heading our way. This band of cloud will bring rain to many parts of the country overnight and for a while tomorrow. We have had a few wintry showers for Northern Areas already. Those are fading away and for a time it will be dry and sunny in most areas but cloud will increase from the west. It will feed a few more showers into the south west of england and wales and bring patchy rain to Northern Ireland and eventually Western Scotland. The best of the hazy sunshine hanging on in the afternoon for the eastern side of the uk. After the chilly start where we are struggling to get temperatures into double figures. Windy weather arriving with the advancing cloud and rain overnight. Wet and windy weather for many areas tonight. Dryer towards the south and south east and after the rain it turns showery in scotland. Because it will be windy tonight, there will be more cloud and rain for many and temperatures arent going to be much higher than they were last night. As we head into tomorrow, it is a windy start and we have cloud and outbreaks of rain and that will move away from wales and continue in the far north of england, Northern Ireland and move northwards into scotland. Forthe ireland and move northwards into scotland. For the rest of england and wales, becoming drier with a lot of cloud around. The people of sunshine now and again and it will be windy. We have got the strong to Gale Force Gusts throughout the day on sunday, but it is coming in from a mild direction so temperatures will be a few Degrees Higher tomorrow. With the peak of the around 16 degrees for some eastern of england. Heading into the beginning of next week get interesting. We have the Weather Front stock in the north of scotland and that will bring a lot of rain in the north West Of Scotland but elsewhere we have the breeze coming in from the south or south west and the wind is easing down throughout monday. Wet weather in scotland, particularly in the north west. Becoming drier elsewhere with more sunshine for england and wales and it starts to warm up as well. Even in Northern Ireland, North Eastern part of scotland, temperatures in Eastern England getting up to 20 or 21 degrees. Temperatures continue to build on tuesday with warmer air across many parts of the country but it doesnt last. The Wind Direction Changes, northerly wind and it drops the temperatures. The peak of the heat is likely to be on tuesday, 23 or maybe 21i across east anglia. Warm in the south on wednesday but by the time we get to the bank holiday weekend, it does get colder with temperatures nearer to what we are seeing today. One for a while, but its not going to last. You nearly had us there, we were nearly buying that. Thank you very much indeed. It was tough, but like i said, taking a piece of theatre and doing it on television with the help of the director, we have to bring the performance right now. But there is something to look forward to next week, and ill tell you all about that later on. Most people will get some immunity but they will need a booster to top it up and to protect against new variants, so we dont yet know how long the immunity from the vaccine lasts. We hope enough for us to reach the next season. We dont yet know how many variants will be down the line, but i am thinking two vaccines peryear, one flu, one covid is likely to be the norm for some time. Jessica were still part way through the vaccine roll out now we are talking about boosters. We have heard this discussion before but hearing the vaccines minister said something of a tenuous date around it again speaks to the confidence that ministers are feeling in terms of being able to progress this is your wallet. In terms of the different types of vaccine it speaks to tackle any new variants, so that has seen significant going into the future and the whole discussion around boosterjabs, yet another reminder that it boosterjabs, yet another reminder thatitis boosterjabs, yet another reminder that it is currently thought tackling coronavirus is going to be a matter of many months stretching into potential years. Its not something weve heard from the chief scientist that is going to be eradicated. A reminder of that as well. In terms linked to the vaccine, is the hope of reopening society and the road map for england, there is another key date this coming Monday 29th Of March what people will be able to do in england, up to six people will be able to outside but was social distancing and the stay at home rule will end but people will be encouraged to stay local. The government has talked a lot about the road map of being cautious but they very much hope irreversible but there is still uncertainty hanging over various things, not least of all of course concerns about the potential third wave in parts of europe and this week we have seen the ongoing vaccines row with the eu. , ~ ,. , ten people have been arrested in bristol after the police took action to clear the third mass protest in the city in a week. Around a thousand people had gathered to oppose law changes that would give officers more powers to restrict demonstrations. Some people attending the protest claimed the police were heavy handed but superintendent Mark Runacres said his officers response was proportionate. I was at the briefing for yesterdays operation and points always covered around the need for proportionality and responses. Officers are chain trained in tactics. We need to provide protection with helmets and shields and protective clothing but when they come under attack bottles being thrown, eggs being thrown, a bicycle pedal being thrown, paint being thrown, Police Horses coming under attack, we need to respond effectively and robustly to that threat. Wales is the first part of the uk To Lift Travel restrictions within its borders, as the stay local rule is being relaxed from today. Tourist accommodation can reopen and six people from two households can now meet out outside and in private gardens. Hywel griffith reports. Time to head to the highest peaks, Orjust Breathe in some sea air. With Travel Restrictions now at an end within wales, plenty of people are desperate to reacquaint themselves with the countryside and coast. But theres a warning keep away from crowds, and have an alternative trip in mind if you find green spaces filling up. We are expecting our hot spot areas to get busy, and we would advise people to maybe have a couple of plans up their sleeve, so that if they arrive in one place and its busy and theyre not comfortable being there, theyve already got a plan b. Darren can tell us what it is going to be like across the uk in the next three days because you have got good weather news for us this morning. I have. We have to wait a little longer for it because it is quite chilly at the moment notjust in wales but across the whole of the uk. The weather will change because this is heading our way. This is cloud and it will bring rain to many parts of the country and it will be accompanied by some strengthening winds. It doesnt sound too promising at the moment. Ahead of that we do have some lovely sunshine. It has been a cold start. Temperatures first thing close to freezing. Warming up a little bit now but the sunshine are still there at the showers further north are fading away. Cloud will come in from the atlantic. We saw it on the satellite picture. Showers into the south west and wales. Patchy rain for Northern Ireland and Western Scotland. The best sunshine towards the east. Temperaturesjust about making double figures. The winds will be strengthening. It will get when this evening and overnight it will be wednesday. Cloud thickens and ran into many areas. Not much in the south and south east and it will turn where showery and scotland but because it is windy and there is cloud in many places, it will be a lot milder than last night. The weather is changing and the clocks change, they spring forward one hour, and our lesson bed, moving into british summertime, but it doesnt feel much like summer on sunday. Windy conditions and cloud and rain, moving through Northern England and Northern Ireland, increasingly wet in scotland, much of england and wales turning dry. A little sunshine now and then but it will be when the, more than today. Strong to strong to Gale Force Gusts likely. South westerly wind. Across the north and particularly north west scotland there is a lot of rain with the beginning of the new weight on that Weather Front, beginning of the new weight on that weatherfront, but beginning of the new weight on that Weather Front, but elsewhere with push at a higher pressure it means it will be drier. Still quite windy for a while on monday. The winds gradually ease down. The rain in scotland primarily, wet and they north west. Increasing sunshine for england and wales and with the sunshine the temperatures will be up to around 19 or even 20. Temperatures start to rise on monday. They probably rise even further on tuesday. Zero audience there i expect its the next step in the governments road map out of lockdown after children returned to school and although there has been a slight increase in infection levels in secondary school age children, overall the percentage of people testing positive has levelled off. Lets talk to our saturday morning regulars, virologist dr chris smith and professor of Public Health linda bauld to try to answer some of your questions. The big story of the morning is about these Covid Boosterjabs and we have had a question from our audience in relation to that. Jeff has asked on twitter, he was to find out if the Vaccination Programme is going to be for the foreseeable future with vaccines constantly adjusted to fight new variants. Chris, is this the future, is this the way well have to get used to things and living with the virus . Yes, i think it is a place for the foreseeable future because we know the viruses and twilight. It is an endemic infection, we will not get rid of this any time in the near future. We have to plan to live alongside it and control it and the best way to do that is with vaccines. But with any moving target, which this is, a bit like the blue is a moving target, we need to retrain our sights on that moving target periodically and that means updating the vaccines. The other thing to bear in mind is the immunity that you get with vaccines including coronavirus vaccines and natural infection to coronaviruses is not long lived as we can tell, to be a few years at most. Therefore periodically we need to update peoples immunity anyway so having a booster programme, perhaps one of the piggybacks that we do work flow, it seems the most sensible way to process. I5 it seems the most sensible way to rocess. , ,. , process. Is it sensible that it is ust process. Is it sensible that it is just going process. Is it sensible that it is just going to process. Is it sensible that it is just going to be process. Is it sensible that it is just going to be the process. Is it sensible that it is just going to be the over i process. Is it sensible that it is just going to be the over 70s i process. Is it sensible that it is i just going to be the over 70s and those most vulnerable groups given that we are making a big effort at the moment to vaccinate every adult . We know this is not an equal opportunities virus. Most of the severe impacts have been focused on a particular sector of society and that particular sector are older people. We know the flu does a similar sort of thing so it makes sense at a time when we are still learning and finding our way to take coaches approach and protect the people we know have borne the brunt of the infection so far, if it turns out that in fact we can do this at scale and this efficiently and it is worth doing it, i would see no problem in widening that to a bigger cohort of people, but for now it makes sense to target with the limited resource while we are still finding our way, the best of our efforts on the people we know remain the most vulnerable to catching the infection. Igate the most vulnerable to catching the infection. ~. , the most vulnerable to catching the infection. ,. ,. , infection. We have a question here from anthony. Infection. We have a question here| from anthony, linda, this time last year it was all about washing your hands, we werent even Wearing Masks at this point a year ago, but anthony asks, have we now identify the most common way that covid is spread . We should definitely also be i washing our hands but we do know much washing our hands but we do know much more washing our hands but we do know much more about this virus now and how it much more about this virus now and how it is much more about this virus now and how it is spread. The main way of spreads how it is spread. The main way of spreads is how it is spread. The main way of spreads is through close contact between spreads is through close contact between individuals and that is why you see between individuals and that is why you see in between individuals and that is why you see in studies at the people are living you see in studies at the people are living together in a household that is commonly an easy way for it to pass is commonly an easy way for it to pass on is commonly an easy way for it to pass on the is commonly an easy way for it to pass on. The routes transmission are still three pass on. The routes transmission are still three respiratory droplets that are still three respiratory droplets that are inhaled or land on the mucous that are inhaled or land on the mucous membranes that line our noses or mouth mucous membranes that line our noses or mouth and mucous membranes that line our noses or mouth and that is how the virus comes or mouth and that is how the virus comes into or mouth and that is how the virus comes into contact in our bodies with comes into contact in our bodies with ourselves. It is also the really with ourselves. It is also the really importantly something we knew much less really importantly something we knew much less about earlier on in the pandemic, much less about earlier on in the pandemic, it is airborne. You can have pandemic, it is airborne. You can have finally pandemic, it is airborne. You can have finally droplets or small droplets suspended in the air potentially for some time and that is how potentially for some time and that is how other respiratory diseases pass is how other respiratory diseases pass on. Is how other respiratory diseases pass on, tuberculosis, also other infections pass on, tuberculosis, also other infections like measles are passed on through airborne transmission and that is on through airborne transmission and that is why on through airborne transmission and that is why things like ventilation are so that is why things like ventilation are so important, we have seen studies are so important, we have seen studies in are so important, we have seen studies in the north east of the us with a studies in the north east of the us with a ouire studies in the north east of the us with a quire where people were far distance with a quire where people were far distance to with a quire where people were far distance to but they were still infection distance to but they were still infection happening when restaurants etc, or infection happening when restaurants etc, or even infection happening when restaurants etc, or even theories about quarantine in australia and elsewhere were people not come into contact elsewhere were people not come into contact with each other but the virus contact with each other but the virus has contact with each other but the virus has been in the air. Surfaces, touching virus has been in the air. Surfaces, touching those we dont think it is our main touching those we dont think it is our main route of transmission but not ruled our main route of transmission but not ruled out. Two messages, the distancing not ruled out. But that we are in a well ventilated space. But that is we are in a well ventilated space. But that is a busy why the focus is on as we open up Outdoor Activities and socialising, so some helpful practical advice, please for people watching this morning or even now in wales or elsewhere next week in other parts of the country preparing to have people in their back gardens. As we heard from the last question from jean and women dont have any question from jean and women dont have any adverse effects or any symptoms afterwards but what you see in the symptoms afterwards but what you see in the literature is some really interesting things. First of all the centre interesting things. First of all the centre for interesting things. First of all the centre for Disease Control and the us tooked centre for Disease Control and the us looked at the first 14 million doses us looked at the first 14 million doses and about 79 of Adverse Reactions doses and about 79 of Adverse Reactions and side effects were reported reactions and side effects were reported for women but women only received reported for women but women only received about 61 of the doses. You can see received about 61 of the doses. You can see more received about 61 of the doses. You can see more happening there. Theres can see more happening there. Theres a can see more happening there. Theres a couple of explanations. Theres a couple of explanations. The first theres a couple of explanations. The first one might be reporting. Women the first one might be reporting. Women are more likely to use Health Services women are more likely to use Health Services and women are more likely to use Health Services and might be more likely to report services and might be more likely to report they services and might be more likely to report they are feeling unwell, inciuding report they are feeling unwell, including for example the yellow card system where people can do that themselves in the uk. There are also biological themselves in the uk. There are also biological mechanisms. Women tend to mount biological mechanisms. Women tend to mount a biological mechanisms. Women tend to mount a stronger immune response, particularly mount a stronger immune response, particularly younger women, and we think it particularly younger women, and we think it has particularly younger women, and we think it has something to do with sex hormones, oestrogenic in particular sex hormones, oestrogenic in particular. Testosterone looks like it might particular. Testosterone looks like it might suppress some of the immune response it might suppress some of the immune response but men can still be protected by the vaccines. The final point protected by the vaccines. The final point is protected by the vaccines. The final point is we protected by the vaccines. The final point is we also know autoimmune diseases point is we also know autoimmune diseases like ms, arthritis, common in women diseases like ms, arthritis, common in women. There is definitely something going on there but that doesnt something going on there but that doesnt mean that all women are going doesnt mean that all women are going to doesnt mean that all women are going to feel unwell. It isjust something we see generally in the population and just to emphasise the vast majority of side effects are very mild vast majority of side effects are very mild and dont last long. It is interesting. Very mild and dont last long. It is interesting. I very mild and dont last long. It 3 interesting, i know this very mild and dont last long. It 3 interesting, i know this week there is another study saying long covid seems to disproportionately affect women of a certain age as well, we will learn more. I still be protected and that is why. They are going down that route. The other bi they are going down that route. Other big story around they are going down that route. Tip; other big story around vaccines they are going down that route. Other big story around vaccines has been discussion around vaccine passports or certificates, then being deployed notjust in trouble but may be in hospitality and other big events. Linda, when i have heard people talk to us about this they say, because we dont know if the vaccine is really significantly preventing transmission, why do we need a certification potentially to go and stand next to someone in the pub if you have been vaccinated and you can still pass on the virus, then make any difference. I you can still pass on the virus, then make any difference. I think we are beginning then make any difference. I think we are beginning to then make any difference. I think we are beginning to see then make any difference. I think we are beginning to see some then make any difference. I think we are beginning to see some evidence | are beginning to see some evidence that the are beginning to see some evidence that the vaccines to reduce transmission. We have had several studies transmission. We have had several studies we transmission. We have had several studies we have talked about in recent studies we have talked about in recent weeks appear from scotland, another recent weeks appear from scotland, another scotland from cambridge, so there is another scotland from cambridge, so there is really promising evidence on that there is really promising evidence on that although not the better. I think on that although not the better. I think we on that although not the better. I think we are probably going to see some think we are probably going to see some kind think we are probably going to see some kind of certification programme. Israel rolled out its green programme. Israel rolled out its green pass from the middle or end of february green pass from the middle or end of february which people have to show to get february which people have to show to get into february which people have to show to get into public venues. They have to get into public venues. They have to show to get into public venues. They have to show one to get into public venues. They have to show one of three things. That they have to show one of three things. That they have had the vaccine second dose, they have had the vaccine second dose. A they have had the vaccine second dose, a week after that, or they have dose, a week after that, or they have had dose, a week after that, or they have had a dose, a week after that, or they have had a recent infection, children have had a recent infection, children canjet be have had a recent infection, children can jet be vaccinated, have had a recent infection, children canjet be vaccinated, or that they children canjet be vaccinated, or that they have had a negative test. Ithink that they have had a negative test. I think we that they have had a negative test. I think we are going to see Something Like that. I think the pressure Something Like that. I think the pressure will be on particularly when pressure will be on particularly when we pressure will be on particularly when we get to bigger events later in the when we get to bigger events later in the year when we get to bigger events later in the year but even as to get back into some in the year but even as to get back into some venues we may need to do that, into some venues we may need to do that, but into some venues we may need to do that, but there are big concerns about that, but there are big concerns about inequalities in it needs to be something about inequalities in it needs to be something rolled out perhaps once everybody has been offered the vaccine, everybody has been offered the vaccine, and it needs to be done carefully vaccine, and it needs to be done carefully and accessibly so it is quite carefully and accessibly so it is quite controversial, but as we look around quite controversial, but as we look around the quite controversial, but as we look around the world, i think well see tempiates around the world, i think well see templates for that, and finally on International Travel aid agreement between International Travel aid agreement between countries if there is going to be between countries if there is going to be some proof of vaccine status or a recent to be some proof of vaccine status or a recent test. Or a recent test. Talking this mornin or a recent test. Talking this morning about or a recent test. Talking this morning about getting or a recent test. Hello, this is breakfast with Rachel Burden and jon kay. The weather would be pretty good over the next few days for a festival, if you fancy it. Do you feel a festival coming on . Maybe at some point. Its still an uncertain summer for festival organisers some have already postponed events to next year, whilst others are pressing ahead in the hope they can take place when restrictions lift. Lots of them hoping the government can come up with an Insurance Scheme to protect them if they had to cancel because of coronavirus. Our entertainment correspondent Colin Paterson reports. This is where the uks Music Festival season is set to start. Eridge park in kent. Its the oldest park in england and its the most fabulous place ever. Home of black deer festival. These two are long term friends who have now become festival bosses. We like ant and dec, she always answers that question. After careers in radio and live music, they decided to set up their own event celebrating country and americana music, the black deer festival. The best new festival on the block. We won promoter of the year, music event of the year. We have really made our mark. Why so special . Wow, the fact its run by two women. Thats not true, there is loads of people involved. The festival is scheduled to start on the 25th ofjune, just four days after the date given by the government as the earliest time that legal limits on social contact can be removed in england. But they believe black deer will go ahead. This is the front of the main stage. This is where robert plant, van morrison will be. A little bit further this way. Here. And they are able to put everything in place because many people are asking to only be paid if it does happen. Suppliers are all aware of that so ordinarily we would have lots of deposits everywhere now, securing all of our kit, infrastructure for the festival. We have absolutely done that but everybody understands so everybody is holding payments, holding payments until. The bands . The agents are, but theyve been great as well. We are working as a community, its unbelievable. Are either of your houses at risk . Our houses are always at risk. One change is that travel Restrictions Mean the line up now is entirely almost made up of a from the British Isles such as the first uk act to have a number one country album. During lockdown, they released a new album, invitation, but had to reschedule their tour three times so they are thrilled at playing the festival. It means the world to us and i think i can speak. For so many other artists, so many other bands, the whole team, the crew everything who have lost work this year. It means so much to so many people and for us, we just cant wait to be back on stage. As performers, people didnt dare look forward to a live show because its been so far in the future, maybe we will be out but to have dates in the diary to actually look forward to is really exciting. However, note of caution from the boss of the association of independent festivals. He believes the lack of a government backed Insurance Scheme will mean more cancellations in the next fortnight. Its an enormous risk for any independent festival to proceed with costs and bear in mind it costs an average of over £6 million to stage an independent festival. I think probably the later you are and the small you are, the more reason you have or optimism. Back at the black dear festival, optimism isnt something that debs and jill are lacking. It would mean the world to open the gates, people laughing and smiling and people having the best time, i will cry. You will . I will be crying, yes. For lots of reasons. Colin patterson, kent. Another festival that is still planning to go ahead this year is kendal calling, in cumbria. Here to tell us more is one of the organisers, andy smith. Hello. I have been to kendal calling and blue dot you look after as well, how optimistic are you that it will happen, or is it sleepless nights every night worrying about the Different Things that might get in the way . That said, we have a Wonderful Team of people we work with and i have confidence that if it can go ahead, it will go ahead. People will have bought tickets last year, so have you effectively transferred over all of those tickets or are there still Tickets Available . That is a figure we are seeing across many of the other festivals as well and that is why they have managed to make it through to this year. We are very fortunate and we put out our line up, the first part of it anyway and we have sold all the tickets. This is despite not being a government backed Insurance Scheme we heard about in that bt there, so you have the confidence to go ahead with this regardless, so was the lack of an Insurance Scheme an issue for you . I dont think a decision has been reached yet by for you . I dont think a decision has been reached yet by the has been reached yet by the government on an Insurance Scheme. They were debating it as recently as two days ago in the house of commons. It will be a huge help to many festivals if they do get the Insurance Scheme off the ground. As they have done in estonia and the netherlands. I hope we can follow, as a country, in their footsteps. The government have given us a statement and they say they are deciding and they dont want to mislead people like you, they will be clear and they will only announce it if it is actually happening. They point to other stuff like the Culture Programme they have invested millions of pounds in to try to help the music and the arts industry. How supported are you feeling right now by the government, by the country . It is difficult, a lot of schemes many people that events and organisations didnt qualify for. But the organisations that did get funding, they are very well supported. We are liaising constantly with the authorities and there is a keenness from the organisations and the authorities for events to go ahead. Ilrluliii organisations and the authorities for events to go ahead. For events to go ahead. Will you reauire for events to go ahead. Will you require any for events to go ahead. But if Something Like that was required, is it practically possible . How much extra workload would it require from the organisational Point Of View . That is something organisational Point Of View . That is something we organisational Point Of View . Trust is something we will be working through when we know it. At this point, there is so many unknowns, we cannot possibly plan for every eventuality. That is why, as a group, i know you had the independent festivals talking earlier, they have been so helpful liaising with them and the authorities. We are going to keep checking in and hope that when the guidance is out there, we will know exactly what we need to do. It guidance is out there, we will know exactly what we need to do. Already under way in scotland and from wales today, maybe they are out there already kicking the ball around. You can imagine few of them are wearing the rugby shirt. What a fitting end it was to the strange tournament. Drama until the last. It may have lacked fans, but the teams made sure it will be remembered as one of the best ever six nations tournaments, and for second time in three years, wales finish as champions. France had to beat scotland convincingly to pip the welsh to the title last night, but instead the scots won in paris for the first time in over 20 years. Joe wilson reports. Singing. Scotlands players in paris their supporters were everywhere. Come on, scotland come on come on, alba come on now, if Scotland Limited france, they helped wales to the title. But they were playing for their own ambitions their own successful six nations. Scotland, scoring . Yes, try the referee saw enough there. Frances need was intense. They didntjust have to win, they required four tries for a bonus point. With half time beckoning, there was one. Commentator there for the try. With scotlands captain in the sin bin, france had to use the opportunity. The chase, a race, and the second try. Commentator what a try for Damian Penaud an exchange of tries, scotland led, and soon, they didnt. France had to win by 21 points. With this, they led by three. But scotland werent done. Both teams with 14 on the pitch. France stretched, clock past 80 minutes. But the scottish spirit and vision was still there. Commentator and Van Der Merwe scores right there, to win. Thejoy shared in many hearts. This celebration ensured wales are champions. Joe wilson, bbc news. Welsh fans have been celebrating the trophy on social media. You can almost here presenter Carol Vordermans yesssssssssss. We love you boys, she adds. Former wales captain Scott Quinnell made sure he thanked scotland. Thank you thank you. What a six nations its been. And mike phillips, another wales legend. Simply said what a match. Unbelieveable. There was a great win for british number two, Cameron Norrie at the miami open tennis. His serve was broken by ninth seed Grigor Dimitrov in the first set and he was 5 3 down but he won four games in a row to take it and then completed a straight sets victory. Its the second time this season hes beaten a top 20 player. Norrie said it was a massive win and hed take a lot out of it. Hell play taylor fritz next. We have three british players through to the quarter finals of the wgc matchplay golf in austin, texas but lee westwood isnt one of them, after he was beaten in spectacularfashion. His group had to be decided by a sudden death play off against Sergio Garcia and at the fourth extra hole, the spaniard produced this. A hole in one nothing westwood could do about that. Scotlands Robert Macintyre won his last round robin match, to finish top of his group and eliminate world number one dustinjohnson. Tommy fleetwood and ian poulter are also through. Englands final series on their tour of india will be decided tomorrow, after they made it all square in the one dayers. Jonny bairstow hit 124, to give them a great foundation, as they chased down 337 to win by six wickets in punay. Even the india captain virat kohli was impressed, calling it the most amazing batting youll ever see. Bairstow will be hoping he can produce more of the same in the third and final game tomorrow. And after it returned last night, the new rugby league Super League Season continues today. I have spoken to a lot of youngsters in the last few weeks. Even though they are so excited, they are a bit nervous. They wonder if they will be fitting. Everyone is in the same boat, that is reassuring. Also, interacting. 0n the football field or the rugby field, it will take time to adjust. A couple of hours of running round and it will feel like normal again. It is notjust young people who are worried about being out of shape. I think we all are. Will the shorts still fit . No, i will be wearing longer tracksuit bottoms, i think. Mike, thank you very much indeed. It was cold this morning. It felt like winter when we came in but apparently it will feel like summer in the next few days . Heres darren with a look at this mornings weather. 25. 6 is the highest temperature recorded in the uk, set in march. We have some wind and rain coming our way from this cloud streaming in from the atlantic. We had a cold start and a few wintry showers around the northern part of the uk this morning. They have pretty much faded away and the sun is out and temperatures are slowly rising after the chilly start, but remember the cloud coming in from the atlantic . That will spoil things in the afternoon. Clouding overfrom the west, a few more showers coming back into South West England and wales and patchy rain for Northern Ireland and patchy rain for Northern Ireland and anti western parts of scotland so the hazy sunshine hanging on for long in the afternoon. There is temperatures are no great shakes, maybe 12 degrees are best and a bit colder in scotland. As the cloud increases and the wind picks up, it will be windy overnight. We have rain spilling down into many parts of the country. Not much in the south and south east as the rain turn sharra further north in scotland. Because it is windy and cloudy, most places will see rain and it will be milder than it was this time last night. The clock change of course tonight, it is an hour less in bed. At one oclock in the morning we spring forward to 2am and breathe into british summertime. We have to wait for the summer weather to retire because we have a cloudy start on sunday, outbreaks of rain. Clinging on to Northern Ireland, northern part of england and getting wet in scotland. It will eventually turn dry and a bit brighter but still a lot of cloud around. It will be windy, windy than today. Strong to Gale Force Gusts of wind but it is a south wind so even with cloud around temperatures will be a few Degrees Higher across the board peaking at 16 in eastern parts of england. The rain will be a problem across parts of scotland. The Weather Front will stick around into the early part of next week bringing rain into the north West Of Scotland. Higher pressure further south across the uk so it is looking drier. A brisk wing to start the day on monday and the winds to gradually ease down and we have more cloud in the north with outbreaks of rain, mainly becoming confined to the north West Of Scotland. More in the way of sunshine in england and wales and it will be on monday that things start to warm up, even in Northern Ireland and the north east of scotland. Highest temperatures in Eastern England at 19 or 20 degrees. 0n Eastern England at 19 or 20 degrees. On tuesday, temperatures continue to rise in the warmer air, but it doesnt last too long because we get a northerly wind returning later on in the week and that will bring colder air down from the north. The peak of the temperatures is going to be on tuesday, 23 or 24. In east anglia and the South East Of England, warm in the south on wednesday but theres temperatures drop in the northerly winds later in the week in time for the easter weekend, which isjust a week earlier than last year. Those numbers by friday are similar to what we are getting today. But make the most of the sunshine and the warmth while we have it. Back to you two. We will, darren, thank you very much. The reminder about the clocks going forward. Thank you for that, because i am here. But then the better for the people working overnight, it cuts an hour of their shift. I will think of you. Thank you very much, jon. One of the things my littlest one has said in his list of things to do when coronavirus is over, is go to a museum. I dont think he has ever been to one where he can remember what was in it. But now aged five, he has a thing about going to a museum. I have a suggestion for him. Its home to the worlds first ever race track, it hosted the first british grand prix and now its a museum where motorsport and aviation history is kept alive. Brooklands museum is now the focus of a new documentary following, for the first time, the volunteers that keep the engines humming and the rotors turning on this extraordinary collection. In a moment well speak with the museums director, tamalie newbery, who took her first vintage car driving lesson. Lets take a look. Right, we willjust stay in first gear at the moment.
