But there was so much more to it than that. Kyle ba rtley gave west brom an early lead but there was a chaotic few minutes in the first half when brightons lewis dunk took a quick free kick which was disallowed. Then allowed. Then disallowed again, after referee lee mason checked the touchline monitor, with prompting from the var assistant. On top of that, brighton missed two penalties. Quite the referess report. Now on breakfast, as hollywood celebrates the Golden Globes the First Major Film Awards of the year talking movies looks at some of the key contenders. Hello, and welcome to our talking Movies Awards Season Lookahead. Im tom brook. New yorks rainbow room here in Rockefeller Center and californias Beverly Hilton will be co hosting the Golden Globes, the First Major Film Awards event of the year. In todays programme, well be looking at awards season right up to the oscars, at the actors and films emerging as strong contenders. But before we begin, a note on the globes themselves. The voting is done by the Hollywood Foreign press association, some 87 internationaljournalists based in the los angeles area. Over the years, there have been numerous allegations attacking the integrity of the organisation, often that it is too much in the sway of the big hollywood studios. And very recently the group was put on the defensive when it was revealed that within its ranks was not a single black member. But having said all that, the globes do give some indication of the likely contenders in the oscars race. The frontrunner at the Golden Globes, at least in terms of nominations, is the picture mank. Its a tribute of sorts to Old Hollywood, set behind the scenes during the making of one of the greatest movies of all time, citizen kane, directed by orson welles. Mank has been put together by Top American Film Maker David Fincher, and it stars the oscar winning british actor gary 0ldman, who most definitely has awards heat. In mank, the focus is on the creation of the first draft of the screenplay for citizen kane, released in 19111. Gary 0ldman plays the central character, screenwriter hermanj mankiewicz. Welles almost stole the Screenwriting Credit for citizen kane from him. The new world with all its power and might. 0ldman played another man good with words, winston churchill, four years ago in a remarkable performance which brought him an oscar. He says portraying mankiewicz in mank, directed by David Fincher, really pushed him. I read that you said that this was the most challenging role that you had ever done. I was surprised to hear that. In what way . David wanted no veneer between me and the audience. He said to me, i want you as naked as youve ever been, and that plays to my insecurities. I just felt very exposed. Citizen kane tells of the rise and fall of Media Magnate Charles Foster kane, based partly on the American Press Baron William randolph hearst. Orson welles served as director, co writer, star and producer of the film, making it when he was only in his mid 20s. It is one of the most worshipped movies of all time. Interestingly, gary 0ldman isnt a devout fan of it. I had seen the film three times in my life before mank, and i re watched it for a fourth time. Im a fan of welles. Watching citizen kane again, i felt that its a little hokey, but i can appreciate the era in which it was made. And it was a magnificent achievement by a guy coming to hollywood, you know, this 24 year old upstart. How do you do, mr mankiewicz . Thats a big question. Gary 0ldman is an awards veteran. He must know that this year, the competition for prizes from his fellow actors is very strong, but the fact that his work is bringing nominations is, as you might expect, welcomed by him. Its nice that its acknowledged. Its not something that you really think about in the moment of doing it, of going into a project. Its only after, where people start throwing your name around for awards, you know, 0scar buzz or whatever, of course its a nice thing. I need a favour, but youre going to have to promise you wont laugh. But mank has also yielded another Strong Awards contender, Amanda Seyfried, Who Plays Actress marion davies, who was also William Randolph hearsts romantic partner. Seyfried, who brings glamour to the movie, has been nominated for a golden globe for her supporting role. Shes not on screen that much, but when she does appear, she makes an impact, which has brought her acclaim from awards bodies, critics and the public. Audiences really do like you in this role. Does that mean a lot to you . Do you know what it means . It means that they believe me, they believe what im doing, theyre being transported and im helping them do that. I cant hide my essence, and i absolutely feel like i understand her essence. And i think together i was able to really embody her as best i can, and the fact that it worked, it was very effective, is amazing. Mank . Its orson welles. Shot in black and white, mank is a film thats been beautifully crafted. Director David Fincher has created a movie designed to be seen in a cinema, as opposed to through a streaming platform. The pandemic put paid to that. God bless William Randolph hearst. Mank is a film with some powerful scenes and great performances. It is impressive, but its dramatically inert, which means, in the awards sweepstakes, gary 0ldman and Amanda Seyfried will be visible contenders, but dont expect to see the film itself as the Leader Of The Pack in the best picture competition. Are you familiar with the parable of the organ grinder s monkey . The Golden Globes augurs Well Forfemale film makers, because this year, a Record Number three have been nominated in the Best Director category. The only time a woman has won a Best Director 0scar was Kathryn Bigelow in 2009 for the hurt locker. This year, a woman could be taking home a Best Director 0scar once again. Emma jones reports. All right, yall, come and get it 30 years after regina king made her film debut as an actor in oscar nominated Boyz N The Hood, her film debut as a director, one night in miami, has earned her a golden globe nomination. King is the second African American woman ever to be nominated in that category. Ava duvernay was the first for civil rights drama selma. Power, black power. I like the sound of that. King chose the adaptation of a play about a meeting which actually did happen in the 19605 in miami between four black icons malcolm x, singer sam cooke, the boxer cassius clay, later called muhammad ali, and sportsmanjim brown. You mean no one else is coming . I tell regina this all the time, it was a throwback to those really great, powerful 90s films, the full cinematic experiences, and she was a part of so many of those projects herself, in Boyz N The Hood and friday, and just films that really you could sink your teeth into and sit down and enjoy. And she obviously has learned through all those experiences what it takes to really bring that experience and bring that type of film making to the finished product. Another actress, emerald fennell, most recently seen as a Young Camilla Parker Bowles in netflixs the crown, also has a Directing Nomination for promising young woman, which she also wrote. Every week, i go to a club, i act like im too drunk to stand, and every week, a nice guy comes over to see if im 0k. You 0k . This wickedly shocking comedy, Starring British actress carey mulligan, about a womans revenge for her best friends death, is also fennell s first feature film. Its produced by mulligan and australian actress margot robbie. Is it significant that two out of the three Directing Nominations are first Feature Films by women already established within the industry, with connections vital to get a project funded . Who needs brains . They never did a girl any good. Jodie foster, one of the first actresses to make the journey behind the camera, has recently walked back in front of it to play lawyer Nancy Hollander in kevin macdonalds the mauritanian, based on the true story of An Innocent Man detained at guantanamo bay. You want turkey and pumpkin pie with mom and dad and unclejoe . Go on, get out. Do you think that it is significant that so many actresses do seem to be turning towards directing . It is wonderful to see all these actresses becoming directors because they have such amazing experience, and i really do think that the best transition to becoming a director is coming from being an actor. I think all of us have a great story to tell. However, the favourite to take best picture and Best Director, not only at the globes but at the oscars, is chloe zhao, whos come to prominence through the traditional route of independent film making. She was first noticed a few years ago for two very low budget movies about american life, 2015s songs my brothers taught me, about two young People Living on a native american reservation, and later the rider, set in the world of rodeos. No, im not homeless, im just. Houseless. Not the same thing, right . No. Her latest film, nomadland, is a stunning epic of wide skies and growing horizons for a bereaved woman, fern, living in hervan and played by frances mcdormand. If zhao, an american chinese film maker, does take these accolades, shed be the first woman of asian descent to do so and her victory could give others their breakthrough. Im very fortunate to be able to do what i love, i and if this means that more people that look like me get to do it, i then i think thats great. These things does inform investors l and gatekeepers to look at what kind | of stories and what kind of talent| they invest in, so there should be a Trickle Effect to it. The outlook for female directors has changed dramatically even since 2016, when San Diego State universitys report, the celluloid ceiling, found women were directing only 9 of hollywoods top 250 movies. Every awards season brings shocks and surprises, but right now, the landscape is a set fair for women in film, and thats been a long time coming. The Golden Globes also honours excellence in television, and this year, as you might imagine, the streaming services did well in terms of nominations. But when it came to diversity, there was plenty of room for improvement, as kizzy cox reports. The glitz and glam of the Golden Globes is going to look very different this year, as the pandemic has changed everyday life, including how people watch movies. Tv streaming has taken off, and that boom has led to some interesting golden globe nominations. I think it ran the gamut, and thats par for the course with the Golden Globes because it is a smaller voting body so the chances are that, you know, something niche is going to slip in there. Two women running the shop, thats the last thing this country needs. Perhaps thats preciselyl what this country needs. The crown racked up six nominations and is favourite to win best drama series. Netflix picked up a stunning 42 nominations, and as more films stream on platforms like netflix and hulu, the line between cinema and tv is blurring. Fans are kind of caring less and less about that distinction. I think whats going to be really interesting is how the industry, how critics, how awards shows kind of code that differently, so where are these kind of things going to fit into, say, an oscars or an emmys . Say, in oscars or in emmys . As weve reported, the Golden Globes made history in its film nominations, with three female Film Makers Up for Best Director awards, but that diversity didnt carry over into tv. Howd you smash your phone . I dont know. 0ne Glaring Omission was Michaela Coel s i may destroy you, which tells the story of a young woman trying to rebuild her life after being raped. Everyone and anyone talked about that show. We were all watching it together and thats that was a really shocking one, especially because Michaela Coel is such a prolific writer and she is normally an industry favourite and people really gravitate to her writing and the things that she produces and works on. Just because they dont want you here doesnt mean youre not supposed to be. Actors in the genre defying lovecraft country, set in segregation era United States, mrs america, about the 19705 movement to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment and its political backlash, and never have i ever, following the ups and downs of a first generation Indian American girl, were also overlooked. While awards like the Golden Globes are not the only way the industry judges an artists work, angela harvey, co chair of the think tank for inclusion and equity, says getting snubbed for one means missing more than just a swanky night out. It is cachet. Its green lighting power for your next project. They open doors, they grant artistic freedom, they attract dollars. So, then you have underrepresented people who are making these artistic achievements like a minari, like a i may destroy you, and then they get to the top to where they are meriting to stand among the best, but they dont get a nomination. Harvey says another problem is that even though diversity programmes are successful at bringing underrepresented writers into the industry, those writers face numerous barriers climbing up the ladder to positions of greater influence, which makes it nearly impossible for them to bring their shows to life for viewers to see. The think tanks mission is to achieve greater representation and advancement to tv writers of colour, and harvey has some ideas on what the Industry Needs to do to make that happen. There does need to be antiracism training, there needs to be mentorship for underrepresented writers to help them navigate this landmine of repetition and struggle, and frankly harassment and abuse as well. Last year, a movie from south korea, parasite, made history by becoming the first non english language film to win the most coveted 0scar trophy of all, that of best picture. Needless to say, south korean storytelling in cinema is gaining in international currency, and this year, a film from a Korean American Film Maker has emerged as an awards contender. Its called minari. Hey, look minari is set in the 1980s. Its the story of a family of south korean immigrants who move from los angeles to rural arkansas. The patriarch wants to start a farm. Played by acclaimed Korean American Actor steven yeun, hes searching, in a way, for his version of the american dream. Hes looking for a lot of things. I think hes looking forjust a certain sense of control over his environment. Kind of, i think hes accessing something natural to him, but maybe isnt realising how much hes causing also miscommunication and damage around him, too. Minari was written and directed by isaac chung, who grew up on a farm in arkansas. His family comes from south korea. This is his fourth feature film, but its not strictly autobiographical. Ijust tried to stay true to Little Details that i remember that i personally wanted to preserve, but at the same time, its also very fictional. All the characters are very different from my parents and my grandmother, and thats to try to make a story, try to make it a film. The parents in the film, the married couple, have a tautness in their relationship. They have different aspirations. A particularly engaging aspect of the story is what unfolds when the young sons grandmother, newly arrived from south korea, enters the household. He doesnt like her at first, but they grow extremely close. I dont like grandma. Why does your character like his grandmother in the end . He doesnt like her to begin with. He cant really see the goodness inside of her and the fun, i think, youve got. The grandmother is played by south korean screen legend youn yuh jung. She gives a very skilful and endearing performance. She worked with Director Isaac Chung to get it right. I asked him about, should i imitate your grandmother . And he said, no, you dont have to, so i felt like i had a freedom from him, from the director, so we create maybe together, both isaac and me, so the truth is, isaac said, his grandmother is totally different than the one i played in the movie. Minari has been the subject of controversy because it was only permitted to compete in the Golden Globes best Foreign Language film category, although it was financed by us companies, put together by an american director and tells an american story. It was shut out of the globes Best Picture Categories because it did not have more than 50 of its dialogue in english. But this wont be an issue at the oscars, and the picture has already secured Best Picture Nominations or the equivalent from other major awards bodies. The minari cast believes the Best Picture Win by parasite last year at the oscars definitely increased the demand for korean storytelling. For us, as asians or koreans, we never thought about somebody could get the award from 0scar, so bong joon ho gave us a big present for us and then every country was cheering for him, so, that was a big change for us. And then now we are talking about minari like this, its a very happy surprise. The growing embrace of korean storytelling as witnessed with minari is, in many ways, a consequence of the pervasiveness of the giant streaming platforms breaking down cultural barriers by bringing International Audiences a broad diet of cinema. Were living in a time where people are willing to break through very, very thin barriers of, kind of, like, Director Bong had said, subtitles or navigating the authenticity of culture, that we canjust see each other for the human beings that we are, then maybe we can share so many more stories and connect in so many more ways. Minari is incredibly touching. You could call it an organic immigrant story in that it isnt constrained by a conventional template. Its its own original tale. Its one of the most welcome contenders in awards season, and its going to continue to pick up nominations for its performances, direction and the film itself. It could be one of this years big awards winners. Pretty boy, pretty boy. Im not pretty, im good looking well, that brings this special talking Movies Awards Season Lookahead programme to a close. We hope youve enjoyed the show. Please remember you can always reach us online at bbc. Com talkingmovies, and you can find us on facebook and twitter. So, from me, tom brook, and the rest of the talking movies Production Team here in new york, london and berlin, its goodbye good morning welcome to breakfast with rogerjohnson and sally nugent. 0ur Headlines Today a £5 billion boost for pubs, shops and restaurants in england worst hit by the pandemic. Families of School Age Children in england will be offered two rapid covid tests a week. Explosion the moment an unexploded bomb from world war ii was detonated in exeter. The grand slam is still on for wales the triple crown and remain unbeaten in this the weather will be mostly dry. But it will not always be sunny. All the details on the way. Its sunday 28th february. Our top story pubs, shops and other businesses in england will be boosted by a five billion pound Government Grant to help them reopen safely as Lockdown Restrictions are eased. Companies will be able to apply for a one off payment which will replace the current monthly grant system. The measure will be outlined by the chancellor in his budget on wednesday. Our business correspondent, katie prescott, reports. The first signs of spring and with them hope of new beginnings for businesses as lockdown eases but it has not been an easy ride. Despite government support, salons like this one still have rents and overheads. We cant do takeaway haircuts, and we cant go into peoples homes. There is no way that a hair salon or beauty salon can pivot or make any income during these lockdowns so when we are shut, we are losing money every day. To help reopen that their doors, the government is offering new one off grants to businesses that have been forced to close by covid, replacing the current monthly grant scheme. Non essential retailers will receive up to £6,000 for each shop they own. Hospitality, gyms and Beauty Businesses wil get up to £18,000 per premises as they are due to open with more restrictions or later in the year. An overall 700,000 businesses will be eligible for the funds which will be distributed by local authorities in england from april. Some businesses say though it is not enough. Although the £18,000 is fantastic, you know, it is certainly something and it is going to help a lot of people, it is not going to help me very much. The larger salons, many of us are losing over £1,000 a day. So that is not going to cover over half of a month that we are closing down. These little crumbs of acknowledgements and these little grants that come out really probably less than cover the cost of shoring for one month. That might be some help for some small businesses, to get them reopening, but the truth is the damage done to Balance Sheets is very, very severe and will need a much more substantial package than this. In that package, businesses are hoping for an extension to the Business Rates holiday, the furlough scheme and the lower rate of vat. But the chancellor is treading a difficult path, between spending to support Companies Like these and what borrowing to pay for it means for the future of the countrys finances. Katie prescott, bbc news. Whole families and households with primary, Secondary School and college age children, will be able test themselves for coronavirus at home, twice a week, as part of plans for schools to re open to all pupils in england. The quick Turnaround Tests will be offered, regardless of whether anyone has any symptoms. Our health correspondent, naomi grimley, reports. If you live with a School Age Child in england, get ready to start using these the 30 minute tests, also called lateral flow tests, are already used in universities and by key workers. Secondary schools will be supplied with them as they open their doors again. But this latest announcement means all children and anyone who lives with them, as well as people like School Bus Drivers and carers, will be offered two tests per person each way. Drivers and carers, will be offered two tests per person each week. Health officials hope it will uncover hidden cases of the virus and break chains of transmission. Testing has expanded greatly over the last few months and it is one important component of our battle against coronavirus. If anyone tests positive, they will still need a laboratory assessed test to doublecheck the result. Naomi grimley, bbc news. Regulators in the United States have approved a third Covid Vaccine for use the single dose injection from johnson johnson. The jab, which can be stored in a fridge, instead of a freezer, is expected to be a Cost Effective alternative to the pfizer and moderna vaccines. The duke and Duchess Of Cambridge have been making a series of video calls to members of the public, urging them to put aside their concerns about the Covid Vaccine. More than 19. 6 Million People have now had their first dose of the vaccine. Prince william and catherine were speaking online to families who have been shielding, and were about to receive theirjabs. Did you reach out to your gp . I did, yeah, i mean, i think my gp hates me now. One of the main things i was worried about was simple things like getting a prescription because there were all those worries about literally leaving the house so i spoke to her about that, i spoke to her about shielding, i spoke to her about hopefully getting on some Priority List so we have been in touch a lot. All laugh. Thereve been further clashes in myanmar, where at least two people protesting against this months Military Coup are reported to have been shot dead by Security Forces. Over 400 people were arrested in the city of yangon. Police have moved swiftly to suppress new protests on city streets, firing live rounds and Rubber Bullets at demonstrators. The military seized power from the democratically elected government on february the first. Several thousand people have had to spend a second night away from their homes in exeter following the discovery of a Second World War bomb. The device was found on friday morning on a Building Site near the University Of Exeter and was detonated last night in a controlled explosion. Reporterjohn ayres is in exeter. John, as we understand it the army says Safety Checks are still being carried out . That is very much the case. Lots of work went in place to make this detonation say. They build a ball around the bomb, 400 pounds of sand on top of it, they build trenches but when it actually was sent of it said an enormous plume of sand 100 feet into the sky and it has left a hole in the ground the size of a double decker bus. They are making sure the properties are saved. They have to ensure utilities are safe the gas, electric and water after this. 0nce the gas, electric and water after this. Once that has been dealt with, they can consider bringing some of they can consider bringing some of the students back into their homes and some of the residents as well. It has been difficult. I spoke to a resident who is not a student who found himself in his car. It has been a difficult time for the students and they are waiting now when they can possibly return to their homes. Their homes. Thanks very much indeed. An Ornate Roman Chariot has been discovered by archaeologists in italy near the buried ancient city of pompeii. Its believed the four wheeled carriage would have been used for festivals or parades. Its a find thats been labelled exceptional because its so well preserved. Despite a volcanic eruption almost 2000 years ago it remains incredibly almost entirely in tact. Incredible. Lots of speculation about what would be in the chancellors budget on wednesday. As he tries to balance re starting the economy with the easing of lockdown. Weve heard this morning that there will be more support for businesses in england, With Another Grant Scheme and thats on top of yesterdays annoucement of help forfirst time buyers. So, what more can we expect . Were joined by our business correspondent, katie prescott. Thank you for talking to us. What more do we know . Lots of these dribbling out over the last few days. Has dribbling out over the last few das. Dribbling out over the last few days. As always in the runup to the buduet, days. As always in the runup to the budget. We days. As always in the runup to the budget. We have days. As always in the runup to the budget, we have started days. As always in the runup to the budget, we have started to days. As always in the runup to the budget, we have started to he i days. As always in the runup to the j budget, we have started to he about what policies we will see. The grant scheme for business as a hardest hit by the pandemics, retailers, gyms, salon businesses, they will give a cash sum to them as we start to open up cash sum to them as we start to open up in a few months time. We had about support for people to get on the housing ladder, the introduction of the 5 deposit with the government helping people with their mortgages and also the announcement of the National Infrastructure banks, investment to help people invest in projects around the country, things like rail and road but also green projects. What we have not heard and waiting for on wednesday is information about the pillars of support for businesses through the pandemic for example the furlough scheme. The expectation is that it will be extended in some form as we start to come out of lockdown because otherwise the concern is that unemployment could spike. Hospitality businesses will be waiting to see if other exemptions, for example not having to pay tax, will go on for longer. An hospitality will be hoping that to the vat would be extended. That is the key thing to the vat would be extended. That is the key thing. Whatever the chancellor is giving away he has to raise from somewhere. A lot of the papers this morning talking about different tax changes and tax rises . The Conservative Party is in a bit of a bind. It is committed in its manifesto not to raise the tax rate, vat or National Insurance but some papers say that could be a freeze on the income tax which would mean people could be paying more. Businesses are concerned about the chancellor is likely to do which is increase Corporation Tax, tax on businesses. He is looking at what is going on in the states. We already have a low rate and businesses argue we need profit during the pandemic but it looks likely that number will creep up in the budget. Creep up in the budget. Thank you very much creep up in the budget. Thank you very much indeed. Hospitality is one of the sectors to benefit from this new announcement. Lets speak now to Chief Executive of uk hospitality, kate nicholls. Good morning and thank you for talking to us this morning. How welcome is this announcement . It is welcome is this announcement . It is really helpful welcome is this announcement . It is really helpful to welcome is this announcement . It 3 really helpful to have early clarification that the temporary Emergency Funds that have seen us through the closure of the last two months will be extended. Much of that will lift and then clear and we will see some sunny spells but some could linger for eastern coast of england. Areas of low cloud across the south of england and generally speaking more cloud across Northern Ireland, particularly Western Scotland for the far West Of Scotland that coco produced the Odd Spot Of Rain. Generally light skies and sunny for most, breezy through English Channel coasts and top temperatures of ten, 11 or 12 degrees, it could be good and that around some of the coasts where you stick with that low cloud and murkiness. As we had to to know, and murkiness. As we had to to know, a some clear spells as well, you can see this cloud, mist and fog expanding across the southern half of england into wales with fog patches for Northern Ireland and scotland. Where you keep skies clear for longest is where it will be coldest, some freezing or a little bit below. Into tomorrow, for some south eastern parts of the uk, all the way into wales and the midlands, actually, we will start off with some cloud, some mist and fog, that will really struggle to clear through the days to be the best of the sunshine across Northern Ireland, scotland, North West England, maybe, brightening in the south later on. Temperatures will depend on how much since sign you see, the brightest around 10 degrees, we stick with cloud and fog for some of these eastern coasts, maybe four or five degrees. Tuesday, similar, mistand maybe four or five degrees. Tuesday, similar, mist and fog around, particularly murky conditions for some of these north sea coast, i think, temperature wise, seven, ten or 11 degrees. The highest about where we have the best of the sunshine. As we move into wednesday, there is a slight change, a little Weather Feature that could bring some showers down towards the south in particular. At the end of the week, High Pressure takes charge again but this area of High Pressure is building down from the north. We will pick up more of a northerly wind across the british isles, so that will take the temperatures heading downwards copy you can see Single Digits for all of us pretty much as we head towards the end of the week. There will still be a little dry weather by this stage, they could be some showers around as well, things will start to turn wintry across parts of north east scotland, and wherever you do see clear skies, well, the notes will be rather cold with a potential for some frost and possibly fog as well. So, were heading into march to the coming week, temperatures if anything will be heading downwards but at least it is dry and that makes a bit of a change from last weekend with some places seeing enough rain to give issues with flooding. So i think dry weather will be welcome. Roger and sally, back to use wr right. Will be welcome. Roger and sally, back to use wr right. Thank you very much indeed back to use wr right. Obviously you need parents, if it is with schoolchildren, you need them to buy into doing this and also, once the tests are able to be done at home and you know how to do them and children know what is involved, you actually have to do them because there is no one there to ensure you are doing them . Simple instructions come with the testing kit but it is a huge responsibility on all of us to do our part in it during the pandemic and it does involve regular testing. Hopefully, not for long but at least for some months to come, especially in working age population which is not largely vaccinated, it is important to find the virus, particularly in asymptomatic individuals to prevent further infection. ,. ,. , ~ infection. You are talking from lancashire, it has had some quite high case rates and restrictions for longer than other parts of the country. What are the latest figures in your part of the country . Lancashire like many other towns across the country but particularly in the north of the country have higher levels of infection compared to say london and at the south west. We are very used to and thanks to our residents and citizens who are very cooperative in following guidance, and we are very used to doing this must Community Testing and businesses are cooperating but there is a residual structural issue, the type ofjobs, living conditions, that makes them more at risk and vulnerable and leading to this residual infection and it is concerning that if we do not follow the advice or the vaccination product does not go faster in areas like lancashire we risk the situation of not only infections remaining high, but there is the risk down the line of variance emerging so what we do now is a country to level up inequalities doesnt match up most when we enter into the rest of the year. On a day like yesterday, you would have i like yesterday, you would have wanted it to be a full house. Imagine that. What a scene it would have been encountered. Alas that was not. But it would not matter to the players. It was a huge win. It was a really eventful game at the principality which leaves wales on course for a second six nations grand slam in three years. Couple of big talking points. That is the biggest score they produced against england. England said the referee didnt give them chance to get back into position when dan biggar took a quick kick allowing josh adams to score. The other when Louis Rees Zammit looked to have knocked on, but it stood as Liam Williams went on to touch down, much to the winger s surpise. Ben youngs helped england level the match in the second half but wales pulled away with cory hill sealing a bonus point in the a0 points to 2a win. I think we showed character in the previous two games. We are not going to say we hadnt a bit of luck, as well, the bounce of the ball and decisions, what have you. But if it wasnt us itd be someone else. I still truly believe we are not the finished article. I thought we played quite a bit of ball in hand today. And we played in previous games and that got us into trouble as well so pretty pleased with how it went today. Wales were worthy winners. I was really pleased with how our players fought back. Got ourselves back to 24 24. Probably the last play summed up our day. We do some lovely attacking work. Get to a final pass, they intercept and they score down to the other and that is the difference in the game. So wales and france the only two teams still unbeaten, the title very much up for grabs, the destination of the wooden spoon though is certain. Its now six years since italy last won a game in the six nations. They remain bottom after ireland ran in six tries in a 48 10 win in rome. Keith earls rounding off the victory. We just have to keep improving our performances. This group is on a journey together. We would have liked to have had that performance earlier. It is not from want of trying. We just put some little fixes right. Manchester city seem to be getting everything right, extending their lead at the top of the Premier League with a 20th consecutive victory, beating west ham 2 1. John stones scored the winner in the second half to maintain their remarkable run. Theyre now 13 points clear at the top. West brom managed their first home victory in three months, beating brighton by a goal to nil. It is embarrassing. I have to come in and speak about it in front of the camera. Why doesnt he come here and speak about it. He said, can i take the free kick. Massive protests and the referee changed his mind. What was the explanation for changing his mind . Too much mayhem to get a conversation. He would not speak to me after halftime. Anwar el ghazi with the only goal for villa early on as they beat leeds, that leaves them within six points of the top four and newcastle had settle for a point after going ahead against wolves, through captain Jamaal Lascelles but they gave ruben neves the space to score an equaliser it finished i all. I think the last time one of these were found five years ago, the first one in 30 years, they are technically a bit smaller and technically a bit smaller and technically you would remove them and detonate them somewhere safe. We are seeing pictures of the creator that it left. In fact, that is the bomb were seeing a picture of. What do you know about these particular bombs and why would it have been exactly where it was . They were retaliation raids for the effectiveness of the Royal Air Force in germany. The germans targeted cities to demoralise us and that is where these bombs come from. How much of a risk where these bombs come from. How much of a risk are where these bombs come from. How much of a risk are they and how many more of them might still be around . We find quite large bombs quite routinely. If left alone and left in the ground, they are very low risk. Heres ben with a look at this mornings weather. Hello sally and roger. Yes, for most of us it is another fine looking day. This is the scene from one of our weather watchers in thompson, devon, not far from where that bomb was detonated in exeter. , calmer sens overhead, thankfully, this morning. But for some it is not as straightforward when there is fog around, trapped under this area of High Pressure, the High Pressure responsible for the unsettled weather. It is strapping some fog at the moment across parts of Eastern England through east wales, the West Midlands. One or two patches the northern and southern lenders well, much of that will lift and clear through the day but it will stay quiet murky. Some cloud lapping into the English Channel coasts from time to time. And more cloud through Northern Ireland in Western Scotland, that i was to scotland seeing the odd splash of rain, but the most, is sunny with light winds. Breezier than yesterday down towards the towards the south to england and temperatures are in the sunny spots up temperatures are in the sunny spots up to ten or 12 degrees, but it will be cooler than that if you get stuck with cloud for any of time. To this evening and tonight its these great. Cloud towards the north West Of Scotland and some areas below cloud, stand fog feeling back in across england and wales thus mist and fog filling in. Some areas freezing or below, but in the south you will notice the extra cloud rolling in, quite a grey and murky status and southern parts of england, into the midlands, east anglia, wales, yorkshire, some dense fog tomorrow morning which could lingerfor lingerfor a good part of the day. And places like aberdeen could stay great throughout the day. Elsewhere, good sunshine, the best of that, nine or 10 degrees. Some of these eastern coastal counties will struggle in one or two places if it stays, heading to four or five. Similar weather on tuesday, its hard to predict at this stage the weather, but most of it clearing. Template is down a bit and a few showers starting to develop down towards the south west. Temperatures. It will be rolling in on wednesday, those heavy showers across southern areas before the end of the week, High Pressure takes charge but a different orientation of the High Pressure. What that means is winds will be coming down from the north, what that means it will be turning a bit cooler. This week takes us into the start of march where temperatures will be dropping away by the end of the week. Clearly a fume injury few wintry showers coming in. Warmer where we have clear skies but for most of us it will remain dry. Back to you. Thank you. A £5 billion boost for pubs, shops and restaurants in england worst hit by the pandemic. Families of School Age Children in england will be offered two rapid covid tests a week. The moment an unexploded bomb from the Second World War was detonated in exeter. Wales win the triple crown with victory over england in cardiff and remain on course for a six nations grand slam. And the show must go on but will there be british success at the Golden Globes tonight . Good morning, the weather is looking mostly dry for the last day of february and into the start of march but it wont always be sunny, there will be some mist and fog to contend with, too. All the details on the way. Its sunday 28th february. Our top story. Pubs, shops and other businesses in england will be boosted by a £5 billion Government Grant to help them reopen safely as Lockdown Restrictions are eased. We cant do takeaway haircuts, we cant go into peoples homes. There is no way a hair salon or beauty salon can pivot or make any income during these lockdowns so when we are shut, we are losing money every day. To help reopen their doors, the government is offering new one off grants to businesses that have been forced to close by covid, replacing the current monthly grant scheme. Nonessential retailers will receive up to £6,000 for each shop they own. Hospitality, gyms and Beauty Business will get up to £18,000 per premises as theyre due to open with more restrictions later in the year. Overall 700,000 businesses will be eligible and they will be distributed by local authorities in england from april. Some businesses say it is not enough. Although the £18,000 is fantastic, it is certainly something and it will help a lot of people, it is not going to help me very much. The larger salons, many of us are losing over £1,000 a day. That will not cover over half of a month we are closing down. Its not going to cover enough of the shortfall that our businesses are facing. For smaller members it will help are facing. For smaller members it will help to are facing. For smaller members it will help to restock and recover but these will help to restock and recover but these businesses have been starved of cash these businesses have been starved of cash by these businesses have been starved of cash. In that package, businesses are hoping for an extension to the business rate holiday, the furlough scheme and lower vat. But the chancellor is treading a difficult path. Between spending to support Companies Like this and borrowing to pay for it means for the future of the countrys finances. Katie prescott, bbc news. Lets get the latest from our Political Correspondent Jonathan Blake now. What challenges will the budget present for the chancellor on wednesday . Good morning. There certainly are many challenges facing rishi sunak. I think the most immediate one for him, given what he has said so far in the run up to wednesdays budget, hes starting to address the huge levels of debt the government has got into, borrowing billions upon billions to pay for the support schemes and overall the response to the coronavirus pandemic. He has described it as a challenge himself, he said the economy is exposed and he said the economy is exposed and he needs to do something about it. So, its likely some taxes at least will rise. On wednesday, Corporation Tax has been talked about and potentially we read in the sunday times this morning that the income tax thresholds can be frozen. So while the rate of income tax went actually go up, something the conservatives promised at the last election, more people could end up paying more income taxes as their paying more income taxes as their pay rises. No comment on that from the treasury but it isnt denied by sources. We will have to wait until wednesday to see. The pandemic isnt over, of course. Another challenge is how long does the chancellor keep in place things like the fellow skin, increasing universal credit payments, to sustain the ongoing effects of the pandemic furlough scheme. There are political challenges, the conservatives had support at the last election from places and people they hadnt had for a long time and they will need to keep that if they want to stay in power. How does the chancellor go about spreading the investment . The government has talked about levelling up while maintaining the tory reputation for keeping taxes low. . Tory reputation for keeping taxes low. ,. , whole families and households with primary, Secondary School and college age children, will be able test themselves for coronavirus at home, twice a week, as part of plans for schools to re open to all pupils in england. The quick Turnaround Tests will be offered, regardless of whether anyone has any symptoms. Our health correspondent, naomi grimley, reports. If you live with a School Age Child in england, get ready to start using these the 30 minute tests also called lateral flow tests are already used in universities and by key workers. And scondary schools will be supplied with them as they open their doors again. This latest announcement means all children and anyone who lives with them, as well as people like bus drivers and carers, will be offered two tests per person each week. Health officials hope it will uncover hidden cases of the virus and break the chains of transmission. Testing has expanded greatly over the last few months and it is one important component of our battle against coronavirus. If anyone tests positive, they will need a laboratory checked test to double check the result. Naomi grimley, bbc news. Several thousand people have had to spend a second night away from their homes in exeter following the discovery of a Second World War bomb. The device was found on friday morning on a Building Site near the University Of Exeter and was detonated last night in a controlled explosion. Reporterjohn ayres is in exeter. John, as we understand it, the army says Safety Checks are still being carried out. It morning. Thats exactly the case at the moment. We dont know when people will be allowed to come back here. They went to great efforts to try and make the explosion safe yesterday. The bomb itself, which is quite large, it is 2. 5 metres long, they surrounded it and put it in a box. They built a wall around it with 400 tonnes of sand on top. They also dug trenches to try and reduce the shock when it went off. But it did send a huge plume of sand into the air about 100 feet and the explosion was heard as far as five miles away. It is understood the sound itself isnt a risk to Public Health, but today they have to check the properties to make sure there isnt any structural damage. There are claims debris was thrown 250 metres in the explosion. This has been very disruptive, lots of people had to move out of their properties, students. 2600 properties were actually affected and they had to either go to friends and family. That is what the police were suggesting. I spoke to a man who had nowhere to go, he had to stay in his car with a coffee. Hopefully he found somewhere overnight. It is quite foggy in england, one or two patches in mid wales and the midlands, Northern Ireland, southern scotland. Generally there will be a bit more cloud across Northern Ireland and Western Scotland, that could get cs, ireland and Western Scotland, that could get the ireland and Western Scotland, that could get the odd spot mist the far West Of Scotland today. Mist and murk could lingerfor some eastern coast areas of england. Elsewhere it will clear and long spells of sunshine. Light winds for the majority, breezy than yesterday across the south coast of england. In the best of the sunshine, highs between ten and 13. Through this evening and tonight, remaining dry. The way some areas of cloud across North West Scotland and this slump of cloud, mr hunter will roll in across the southern half of england, into wales and if you fog patches. Temperatures getting down to freezing, maybe a couple of degrees below. Tomorrow we will have this area of cloud, and and fog across the southern half of the uk, some of that struggling to clear. Into monday afternoon there should be quite a lot of sunshine for Northern Ireland. I think it will brighten up for the south coast and south wales as well. If you get stuck with cloud and fog for some of these eastern coastal counties for example, you may get to four or five degrees. Similar weather on tuesday, quite hard to predict exactly where the cloud and fog will be. Good spells of sunshine. If anything temperatures coming down just a little bit and we will see some showers pushing on towards the far south west, courtesy of this Weather Feature. It could bring the odd heavy shower to southern areas particularly on wednesday. The High Pressure coming down from the north bringing some somewhat cooler air with it. This is the outlook for the week ahead. Stain largely dry, there will be some spells of sunshine and the nights have the potential to be chilly staying largely dry. Ahead of last weekend when rain brought flooding, this coming week looks dry. Some sunshine to enjoy for many of us today. The idea is that Secondary School pupils, staff and households will be offered lateral flow testing to do twice a week. The reason for doing this is basically it will pick up those people who have asymptomatic covid 19. One in three people will have no symptoms which is why it so difficult to stop the spread. The tests are not the most pleasant thing in the world but they arent bad at all. Ive been doing lateral flow tests for a long time. Ive been doing regular tests throughout the pandemic. The Golden Globes usually kicks off the awards season with plenty of dazzle and red carpet glamour, but thanks to the pandemic tonights ceremony will be an entirely differerent affair. Theres high hopes for the british talent nominated, but the event has been marred by allegations of corruption, and criticism of the lack of diversity within the organisation that runs it. Our los angeles correspondent sophie long reports. Well, were two months into the year and so far everything appears to be just as strange as it was for the vast majority of last year. The Golden Globes will be no exception. This was last year, all the stars crammed onto one carpet. The excitement was palpable. Brad is a sequence and smiles sparkled in the sunshine, as sequins and smiles sparkled in the sunshine, it all seems like some kind of golden yesteryear. Now, instead of queueing for passes that could grant you access to some of the hottest people on the planet, we queue for three separate covid tests so we can stand outside an event that would normally be inside. But, hey, thats ok, because who wants to hang out with a list celebrities anyway . Luckily, the people who run these kind of things in hollywood are totally down with the fact that the show must go on. What a year for movies these two are back to offer some comic relief. A year for movies . Its hollywoods most glamorous night. They will be on different coasts of the continent, but whats 3000 miles if not a safe social distance . In terms of potential winners, mank, a tale of Old Hollywood and all its glamour and sleaze is the most nominated movie. Season four of the crown, the very british portrayal of strange royal relations, is likely to rain once again in the television categories. Preparations have been made for a socially distanced ceremony, but the Golden Globes will be the same celebration of creativity and talent on and behind the screens both big and small. Or rather small and smaller, given that most cinemas have been closed. You were one of those lucky people. But there will be some notable differences. For the first time, more women than men have been nominated for Best Director. Chloe zhao for nomadland, a very real human journey through the american west. Emerald fennell for promising young woman, a feminist film full of vengeance and payback. And regina king for her historical fiction, one night in miami. Theres no guarantee of course that any of them will win. I dont see your name in lights. Chadwick boseman has been nominated posthumously for his final acting role in ma rainey s black bottom. What is problem, officer . Borat is back, and his creator Sacha Baron Cohen is a double globe nominee this year. He could also be recognised for his rather different role in the trial of the chicago 7. There may be no red carpet and far fewer champagne corks will pop, but despite the same criticism of the obscure voting bodys practices, the Golden Globes will still be the Opening Ceremony of the award season, and they could still give some indication as to who is in pole position for those coveted academy awards. Sophie long, bbc news, hollywood. Lots of reaction to the Golden Globes tomorrow morning. Stay with us. Hello, this is breakfast with rogerjohnson and sally nugent. Its time for outside source now and the bbc s ros atkins has been looking at facebook. Facebook is pervasive. The worlds population is over Seven Billion close to Three Billion of us are active facebook users. And that scale creates power the power to turn off the news. In breaking news this morning, social media giant facebook has followed through on its threat, restricting people in australia from viewing news content. The power to turn off those in power. Facebook have extended their block on Donald Trumps accounts for at least the next two weeks untiljoe bidens inauguration, accusing the president of using the platform to incite insurrection. And the power to change how we connect, how we communicate, for better, says facebook for worse, says this former employee. We have created tools that are ripping apart the social fabric of how society works. Facebook is powerful, but is facebook too powerful . Well, this is how Mark Zuckerberg sees its role. Facebook is an idealistic and optimistic company. For most of our existence, we focused on all of the good that connecting people can do. Idealistic, optimistic, focused on the good. Lets keep those words in mind as we consider three stories the news ban in australia, the storming of the capitol in washington, and first, a coup. This is myanmar s military moving in to stop protesters gathering on the streets in early february. It had removed Aung San Suu Kyis civilian government from power. And the man controlling the military is commander in chief min aung hlaing. Hes a fan of facebook. Hes been an active user for years. Not so much now. Facebook has taken down some of the military s pages because of, it says. This looks straightforward. If you launch a Military Coup and threaten peaceful protests, you lose your facebook page. But the story of facebook s power in myanmar is not straightforward. Heres why. This is a country of 54 Million People and over half of them have a facebook account. That didnt happen by chance. One third of people in myanmar live in poverty, and to help people get online, facebook removed all data charges and organised for the facebook app to be preloaded on many phones. It worked. Listen to this Technology Reporter from the New York Times. The entire internet is facebook, and facebook is the internet. Most people dont necessarily know how to operate or get on and navigate regular websites. They kind of live, eat, sleep and breathe facebook. Soon, though, facebook was accused of playing a determining role in grave crimes. In 2017, Rohingya Muslim villages were ransacked, people were murdered. Hundreds of thousands fled into bangladesh. And the un says facebook s platform helped create this. We know that the ultranationalist buddhists have their own facebooks and really inciting a lot of violence and a lot of hatred against the rohingya or other ethnic minorities. And im afraid that facebook has now turned into a beast than what it was originally intended to be used. Facebook was the main platform for sharing horrific content that incited violence against the rohingyas. Mark zuckerberg was asked about this in 2018 and he said. It has done more to remove content, and now its closed the military s pages after a coup. But this is the same military that attacked the rohingyas and which continued to use facebook. The point being, in myanmar, facebook dominates how information is shared and decides who gets to share it. Thats a lot of responsibility for one company. And if thats facebook s role in myanmar, next, lets turn to washington and the storming of the capitol. This was early 2021. Americas fractured politics were laid bare, and with the very opposite of Mark Zuckerbergs ambition for america and for facebook as he outlined them in 2017. Today, when we look around, our society is still very divided. All right, so, now i believe that we have a responsibility to do even more, not simply connect the world, but also work to bring the world closer together. But is facebook actually doing that . To consider that, we need to look at how facebook works. This is a former president. Its a social validation feedback loop that, its like a, i mean, its exactly the kind of thing that a hacker like myself would come up with because youre exploiting a vulnerability in human psychology. And then a version of those concerns were seen in a 2020 leak to the wall streetjournal. Internal facebook documents warn. But can we connect the experience of being on facebook with real life actions . Well, 38 Congress Members think so. In the aftermath of the storming of the capitol, they sent a letter to Mark Zuckerberg saying. And this is democratic congresswoman alexandria ocasio cortez. Mark zuckerberg and facebook bear partial responsibility for wednesdays events. One New York Times columnist wrote. And there again is that accusation that technology designed to make a product popular has ended up undermining democracy and encouraging prejudice. Well, in response to the capitol attack, facebook c00 Sheryl Sandberg said. This, though, highlights a truth about facebook s power. It is ruler of its vast domain, and it can remove whatever it likes, be that hate speech, or Donald Trumps account, or the news. This is an assault on a sovereign nation. It is an assault on peoples freedom. And in particular, it is an utter abuse of big technologys market power and control over technology. The third story we are looking at is about how, without warning, facebook removed all news content in australia. And lets go back to Mark Zuckerberg in 2019. Facebook is about putting power in peoples hands. But there wasnt power in the hands of australians who get their news via facebook. The news had. Vanished. Responding to this, australias Prime Minister Scott Morrison posted on, yes, facebook saying. But facebook is a Company Fighting for its interests, as companies do. In this case, its over a row whether to pay news providers for content. But the context of the row is facebook s scale. Its estimated that 40 of australians use facebook as their primary news source. Thats a problem, according to this former facebook executive. I think he has too much power. You know, were seeing sovereign nations having to come up against facebook yet, you know, were not on the same Playing Field with facebook s power. And that concern has reached the uk. This is the head of the competition and markets authority talking to the bbc. I think its a very worrisome development, and i think it really shows that we need to urgently do something to reduce this imbalance of power. By turning off the news, albeit temporarily, facebook showed its extraordinary power. And if countries feel theyre at risk of being overpowered, a more fundamental issue arises. Heres my colleague, rory cellan jones. The only real action that can really affect facebook is to break it up, and there will be growing discussion about that. Even in the United States, there are moves by certain democratic congressmen to say, this is the only way forward. It is too powerful. You can try little laws like this, but what you really need to do is lessen its power, and that means breaking it up. Well, what happens next will in part be driven by president biden, a man who we know sees facebook as a problem. But as we consider these questions of facebook s power, i find it useful to go back to that famous clip of david bowie talking to the bbc about the internet. I dont think weve even seen the tip of the iceberg. I think the potential of what the internet is going to do to society, both good and bad, is unimaginable. I think were actually on the cusp of something exhilarating and terrifying. I wanted to play that because the issues raised by facebook are really fundamental issues raised by the internet. The australia story is about old Business Models being broken, economies being restructured. The stories in myanmar and america, in very different ways, show countries navigating the complete rearrangement of how we produce and consume information. These are vast political, economic and social shifts, and facebook s right in the middle of all that. It does have extraordinary power perhaps too much. But more powerful still is the internet and how its changing every facet of our lives. Thats the power that were really wrestling with. After a number of fatal stabbings in the Thames Valley area, one man decided to act by Offering Discounts on Caribbean Food to anyone willing to trade in their knives. 0dane cross runs a Takeaway Business in reading and since he started his own amnesty he has collected blades and other Deadly Weapons from children as young as 11. And they said if someone comes to them, then thats it hes going to finish them. I said if you kill someone like that, your life is finished. Then the person that you killed, their whole familys lives are ruined. So its notjust your life youre ruining, youre ruining a lot of lives, with one knife. You know what i mean . Thats what made him hand it over to me. 0dane cross has been collecting weapons in and around reading forjust a week. So far i think i have collected maybe 17 17 or 18 weapons. Ive collected samurai swords, machetes, um, knives, yeah. And what happens to them, then . Um, basically, what i do is every night i collect them, i will call a police officer, they will come around to my house and then theyll collect them and put in knife tubes and then take them away. For the meals, but a lot of them actually just want the knives off the streets. To be honest, theyve got no way of getting rid of them. Yeah, im not thinking about money, the profit or whatever. Its a life im saving for £5. As were filming, 0dane gets a call, two knives need collecting. Yeah, so, this is my vest that i use. I tuck it over my head and strap it on. And, yeah. Isnt it dangerous . You dont worry . Do you know what . Its only got me worried since ive taken knives from younger ones, do you know what i mean . And these are very common, popular, two more of these. Two 15 year old boys. They said they dont want the food vouchers, they just want them off the streets they want to get rid of them. Now, what i do is i bring them inside, wipe them down, clean them down and then put them in this box here. I will call the police and they will come and collect them. Thames Valley Police has told us it is aware of 0danes knife amnesty, and despite not participating directly, it wants to thank the public who wish to play a part in reducing Serious Violence and knife crime in our communities. Do you know what it is . It is very important, because now a lot of them have come in to me and they can confide in me. As i said, i would rather they come to me than go to the police. They feel that if they go to the police, theyll get arrested. Or if they hand it in at the police station, the box, theyll get arrested. 0dane says hes committed to taking blades off the streets, but sometimes the reality of what he finds takes its toll. 11 year old. And im telling you, it it brought tears to my eyes. It was sad, scary. When i spoke to him, and i was like, why you carrying this . And he goes, if someone comes near me, or tries with me, i will end their life. I looked at the knife and i thought this knife is longer than the arm i will end their life. I looked at the knife and i thought this knife is longer than your arm this will live with me forever. An 11 year old. It will live with me forever, im being honest with you. Ben moore, bbc news. Now the sport. Good morning. It was a really eventful game at the principality which leaves wales on course for a second six nations grand slam in three years. Couple of big talking points. England said the referee didnt give them chance to get back into position when dan biggar took a quick kick allowing josh adams to score. The other when Louis Rees Zammit looked to have knocked on, before Liam Williams went on to score, the try stood, much to the winger s surpise. Ben youngs helped england level the match in the second half but wales pulled away with cory hill sealing a bonus point in the 40 points to 24 win and their first youve got to be in games to win them and i think england put a lot of pressure on us and each time we hit back the put pressure on us and there was a lot of resilience shown so very, very pleased. I think they enjoy winning things and hopefully we can continue. So wales and france the two teams still unbeaten with the title wide open. No doubts about the destination of the wooden spoon. Its six years since italy last won a game in the six nations. They remain bottom of the table after losing again, this time to ireland who ran in six tries in a 48 10 win in rome keith earls rounding off their victory. Manchester city continue their unstoppable run, extending their lead at the top of the Premier League with a 20th consecutive victory, beating west ham 2 1. John stones scored the winner in the second half to maintain their remarkable run. Theyre now 13 points clear at the top. Bizarre scenes as west brom who secured a huge win in their fight to avoid relegation, beating brighton by a goal to nil. But there was so much more to the game than that. Kyle ba rtley scored for west brom early on. But there was a chaotic few minutes in the first half when brightons lewis dunk took a quick free kick which referee lee mason disallowed. Then allowed. Then disallowed again, after the var assistant got involved. On top of that, brighton missed two penalties. Quite the referees report. Its embarrassing. Ive got to come here and speak about it in front of the camera, why doesnt he speak about it . Why doesnt he come here and say what he thinks . I know what he said. I said, can i take the free kick . He said yes, i took it, scored. Good goal and then massive protest from them, he changed his mind. What is the explanation for changing his mind . Im not really sure, it was too much mayhem to actually get a conversation with him. He wouldnt speak to me at half time, so i still dont know. To cricket and englands women played their third one dayer against new zealand in dunedin behind closed doors, after a Snap Lockdown in the country. Theyd already won the series but the home side restored some pride with a seven wicket victory. Tammy beaumont top scored with 88, as england made 220. Amelia kerr took four wickets before new zealand easily reached their victory target. They now play three t20 games, with wednesdays opener moved to wellington from auckland, where the tightest restrictions are in place. And rory mcilroy described his game as a work in progress, after an eventful round of 66 at the world Golf Championship in florida. He started with a birdie, followed up with a double bogey and on the back nine, he picked up five shots in his last seven holes, including an eagle. Its been a bright, sunny weekend for most of us, meteorological spring officially begins tomorrow and many of you have been sending in your pictures of how you made the most of the lovely weather. Lets start with this beautiful sunset snap, sent into us from ian in roker in sunderland. Kirsty sent us this picture of daughter eva holding yesterday evenings moon in her hand. And finally, a stunning frosty morning from vik as ever, weve loved seeing your pictures. Thank you for sending them in. It is both frosty and sunny. Were starting with frost in places and a bit of mist but for most one of those beautiful days. This is how the day starting for a weather watch and gloucestershire. I think were fair for most places through the rest of the day and through the rest of the day and through the rest of the day and through the next few days into the start of meteorological spring. High pressure in charge but underneath that High Pressure we have a bit of low cloud and fog across parts of Eastern England, some fog patches through the West Midlands and one or two patches for Northern Ireland and scotland. Most places will see sunshine. Could well stay a little murky for southern and east course of england. A bit more cloud into Western Scotland that could give the Odd Spot Of Rain but most places fine with light winds and a little more breezy than yesterday across the south coast of england and the channel islands. Temperatures between ten and 13 degrees highs. Not bad at all for the last day of february. Into this evening tonight it will turn chilly where we keep clear skies but this low cloud will roll into a good part of england, the southern half of england into yorkshire and parts of wales. Very murky here by the end of the night. Fog for parts of Northern Ireland and scotland. Lowest temperature was the clearest skies. Some spots getting down to freezing or below and southern scotland. Tomorrow another dry day but we will have an area of cloud and mist to contend with and some of that will linger for a good part of day. It will turn increasingly misty and murky on a course of Northern England and eastern scotland and places like aberdeenshire will turn grey and misty as the day turns on. In the best of the sunshine to highs of 10 degrees or 11 degrees but parts of Eastern England may bejust degrees or 11 degrees but parts of Eastern England may be just four or 5 degrees. A similar weather on tuesday, largely dry with mist and fog and low cloud close to north sea course. Many places earning that they find but turning more chilly but across the northern half of the uk. Later on tuesday we could see a few showers pushing on towards the south west. As this weather future wobbles end, heavy downpour with that on wednesday. At the end of the week High Pressure builds back from the north so while it will stay largely dry it will turn a little bit cooler, even more chilly for some of us by the end of the week. Those temperatures dipping away. Daytime highs in Single Digits. Overnight at the skies are clear for you are you could still potentially see a touch of frost. Towards the north east of the uk the chance you could just see one or two wintry showers by the end of the week. Yes, at the start of meteorological spring but for most of us it is dry and for the sunday we will see some sunshine.
